just got back from phuket about a few hours back, and boy was it an awesomest trip. credit goes to my travel buddies yinghui, mingfeng & andy whose company made the few days even more fun that it already was. and nope, i’m not going to do a day by day recount. but instead, i’ll just breifly summarize and let the pictures do the talking! lovely what the camera can do. (: hopefully this won’t be a very picture heavy post. most of the pictures will be up on facebook, so check my account in a couple of days. i’ve got loads of photos to upload from my december. but i don’t intend to do it today cause after this, i just want to fall into bed and into a deep sleep before going to korie’s commissioning tomorrow. whee~ he’s finally going to be an officer (or ociffer, whichever he likes better. lols.)

tuesday night was a night flight out to phuket at 8.35pm, and as usual, there was alot of camwhoring. there were three cameras on this trip, so i don’t think all the photos are with me. yinghui and mingfeng are the other two camera owners and andy is the poor thing who’s gonna be tagging the one million photos that are going to be online. hah. who ask you never bring camera. *sticks out tongue*

the flight was faster than expected and the four of us were pleasantly surprised at our little reception at the airport! (actually, we kinda expected it, but it was fun teasing mingfeng about it. but i definitely felt like some VIP arriving in that small little airport, which looked kinda dilapidated.) the road to our hotel was quite interesting cause it was totally dark. lols. and winding too. but it looked like a mixture of indonesia, malaysia and a wee bit of singapore all mixed into one place. but that was just the first impression because i now know that phuket, thailand has a character of its own! (:

and of course, above is our very beautiful little apartment in the palms, kamala beach when we first arrived in its pristine state. we were all pleasantly surprised at how cool the whole apartment was. for the price we paid, i’d say it was a steal! we had a huge living room, a little cooking area, a mounted LCD television and the awesomest bedrooms! (actually, it was just the bed and comforter that was awesome, not the whole bedroom. lols.) that night, we spent in a little new experience – a thai discotheque with both a DJ and an awesome live bands whose english songs are (almost) the bomb. they’ve got good voices i admit. but i’ve got no pictures cause they’re with yinghui. heh.

the next day, breakfast and a little laze in bed before we headed down to the beach for some tanning. i got to swim in the sea and strut in my colourful new bikini (with my fats bobbling around, hahas.) and the awesomest experience was definitely the view of the mountains and the sea and how they seem to just blend and melt into one another. can you believe that just 5years back, the beach that we stood on, stayed on, ate at was the victim of the 2004 boxing day tsunami? unbelievable, seriously. and then we headed back to the hotel and lazed around in the swimming pool and got into little water fights while waiting for our hot/iced chocolate and spring rolls which we ordered from the poolside bar. it’s really cool having mingfeng around, cause he’s really a networker and we got to know the people (like boy from the restaurant who introduced us to the discotheque the night before, and the guy at the pool side bar. heh.) and a little about how they lived. i think the six degrees of separation between people is really something that i’m beginning to experience myself. beach pictures ahead! swimming pool ones are with mingfeng. after swimming, the plan was to go to the local market that’s open only on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. after which, we would head to patong beach for a beach party that was happening there. the first plan went through cause it was a wednesday and i think it was quite an eye opening experience for me. looking at the way their version of what would be a pasar malam cum wet market concept of thing. ate some street side food that was quite nice. and bought a new party dress for about 170bhat, which is about 3+SGD, those blogshops are really earning good money. hah. but the patong plan fell through cause it was raining, and we didn’t really feel like going there anyways. we stayed in to watch sex and the city, the movie and later (part of) valkyrie, with mingfeng as the only survivor of both movies. movies were paired with instant noodles and hotdogs from 7-11. wheee~ but the best part i think was dinner where we had some quite delicious seafood of lobster and prawns! (: *beams while remembering the taste of it, so creamy and smooth in the mouth!*

breakfast again when we woke up and we went back to our rooms to just “nuah” or laze around for a little bit. i ended up reading my new book that i got from this little bookstore that we passed by while walking to the local market and then ended up falling asleep on the bed cause it was just too comfy! by the time i (as well as andy and mingfeng) woke up, it was already about 4pm. so we headed out for “dinnunch” (dinner-lunch) at boy’s place and then headed off to patong beach after our meal. went shopping and i got what i was looking for! my thai singlets with red bull and chang beer. hahas. and then it was out to the town for the night – super eye opener cause there were so many things to see. it was like a cleaner but more open geylang street at some parts of the town. there were ladyboys and skimpily clad girls dancing in the bars/clubs. hahas. something you’d never see in singapore!

first time i’m overseas with just my friends alone and it was a smashin’ experience. learnt a lot of things about the world, about people, and about myself as well. hahas. i left a secret in your hands, what happened in phuket, stays there in phuket. but reality is more practical and phuket has come to an end, so did that little wish or fantasy, whichever you want to call it, has come to a close and i have to start worrying about the hall chirstmas party  this coming monday! tomorrow (or rather today, cause it’s currently 2:27am) is korie’s commissioning! (: *smiles* can’t wait to see how smexy he looks in his nice, clean and white pressed uniform. hahas. and then it’s off for a little trip to malaysia for christmas.

Yes. I do miss having someone there. As in, someone whom I can share things with, someone whom I look forward seeing, someone whom I just wanna hold so badly. Now, I just don’t have the right to do so. I’m just a… friend (perhaps). I just miss… him. =X But I come to realise that I should be contented with what I have now. I should be. Friendship should be the main thing on my mind now I guess. Support is just.. really important…

BAH. I’m acting like a young kid. Gees. Don’t know why. When I came home today, I realised NO ONE is at home. And today I just felt… exceptionally lonely. =’( They only started coming home at around 9? hmm. I’m just thankful he agreed to accompany me for dinner. =) I just can’t ask for anything more than that. That alone is enough. Yup.

Talked to christina today and finally told someone proper, how sad I actually felt about certain things. Finally. This thing has been bottled inside me for so long. URGH. Feels sad still… But at least not so suffocated anymore. =) But now, I’m like still trying to restrict my style of writing. I think it’s time for me to learn to change certain “bad habits” of mine. I hope you guys don’t really know exactly how I feel through what I wrote here. Hehe. Nope, no one will ever know exactly how I feel. =)

And so, tml I’m gonna meet Jaz! And now that it’s 12am alr… HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAZ! I’m sure tml you’ll have fun. hehe. spending such a great day with your loved ones is the bestest of all =) Haha~ And I’m reminded of mine. =( Okay, I should think of my 21st birthday right? Hmm. Time will FLY. Now I really understand the meaning of “really don’t feel like celebrating my birthday”. Sigh. URGH.

Had fun at dance today finally moving our bodies YEAH. perhaps tml I should go studio wu to get the unlimited package thing =) It’s time. Gonna seriously look for 1 fixed driving instructors instead of thru’ the company. Will try book TP after 10 lessons. Hehe. Now I’m looking forward to chalet ‘cos Mei Ling and I decided to cook! We’re gonna come up with some ideas hehe. I’ll probably make some cookies too! FINALLY It’s time for my hands to start working again. Fun it may seem, and yeah I think i’ll enjoy. But, some things are definitely gonna be different.

A loves playing basketball, B – Volleyball, C – Soccer. A has always loved to play basketball on his own ‘cos there’s no one else playing with him and there’s only that certain court available. B loves playing volleyball with friends, but sometimes tries to play on his own but does not allow anyone to see him doing so, ‘cos he’s afraid of being laughed at. C plays soccer with friends and also plays alone at the field, but he plays at the field where it’s “fenced up” so that no one can see whatever skills that he is trying to master. When D comes along and sees things on the surface like A being a soloist, always appearing at the court alone, B playing with friends but never alone and C playing with his friends and never alone as well. Cos on the surface, people will perceive B and C as players that enjoy playing with friends and never appear practising alone ‘cos they have their ways to “mask” it. And so, D says that A is a show-off. And A is definitely hurt, cos there’s no one playing with him and what he wanted to do is just to improve himself and that was him since the very first day.

Crickets chirping, cars driving by, the TV outside, my mother fiddling in the kitchen…These are the sounds I hear as I lay in my room.

I haven’t spoken a word for the past four hours…not a word.

This is how I enjoy being at times, I guess I’ve had so much practice growing up an only child, with no one around to really have a fun conversation with. I used to just lie on my bed, in complete silence until I fell asleep sometimes.

Being silent, helps me to think clearly, it helps me to remember things i may have forgotten at some point, I get the opportunity to really assess different things in my life. It brings me such clarity, I feel at peace, I feel rejuvenated…
