The three-person main cast of Gintama crosses over to Sket Dance, using a strange interdimensional device that then shorts out. As Switch works to repair it, the two casts trade barbs, pointing out the similarities in their characters and their voices. When they activate the device again, it takes the two casts back in time to the first episode of Sket Dance. Eventually, the Gintama club returns to whence it came.

Sket Dance is apparently going on another 13 episodes, if not more, but I believe I’ve had my fill; it’s time to say goodbye. Update: due to the poor debut of C³, we’ll be dropping that and continuing to watch this for the time being. I must admit, I have never watched a single episode of Gintama and know nothing about it or its characters, nor the understanding that Sket Dance is, at its core, Gintama in a school setting, what with all the gags and parody. Ah well, you learn something new everyday! And the fact the core trio was essentially doubled gave this episode an immense amount of energy.

Despite not knowing anything about Gintama, I could still appreciate virtually an entire episode of breaking the fourth wall, though I’ll admit it seemed a bit overdone at times – fourth wallbreaking is best when used sparingly, lest it get tired. I did recognize Rie Kugimiya as the voice of the red Chun Li, and the fact that Switch and Gin had the same voice, and the harking back to Teppei – the red herring for the main character in the first episode – was a nice touch. If nothing else, pointing out its blatant similarities to the obviously very popular Gintama franchise – obviously done to cash in on its success – is a nice bit of self-depricating humor.

Gintama is one of my favorite anime, anime lovers out there you guys should really check it out.
To Anime lovers but not Gintama lovers, you guys should really check Gintama out if you want to lose your stress levels. What is Gintama about you may ask. The answer is, ‘I dun really know how to explain..’ :]

Here is the base story of Gintama

In the early 17th century, Japan adopted strict isolation policies and severed almost all ties with foreign countries. In 1853, the US fleet commanded by Admiral Perry forced the doors open, leading to a modernization of the nation’s sociopolitical systems and the eventual fall of the Shogunate. The samurai regime ended its life with the imperial restoration in 1868. That’s what history tells, but in Gintama, that’s not what happens. Instead of the US fleet, the country is stormed by spaceships coming from four corners of the universe and soon we see it occupied by extraterrestrials. The Shogunate has become a puppet of alien occupation armies. All samurais have been disarmed and reduced to temp workers with no skills who just try to make ends meet. Gintama is a story of a handyman named Gintoki, a samurai with no respect for rules set by the invaders, who’s ready to take any job to survive. He and his gang, however, are also among the very few who have not forgotten the morale of a swordsman. Wherever they go, all they do is to create troubles. Troubles that they of course try to solve, but in reality…

Did so much adjusting on the color tones that I even started adjusting the white balance in my dreams. -.-”

One thing i learn from this shoot.
One has really learn to overcome the limitations of a 70200 before really getting good photos.
After all, there has to be a reason why professional photographers (and I mean really paid photographers. NOT SELF PROCLAIMED) uses it for shoots right?

Yes I agree. A majority of them does keep the 70200 in the studios.
But I don’t see why u cannot apply whatever you picked up from studio shoots to the outdoors.

Just bring your own lights… Xp

Đọc tới chap này bạn sẽ tạm thời thấy “tác dụng” của Shinpachi trong bộ ba nhân vật chính này. Có lẽ tạo ra một bộ ba quái đản nhưng thực tế trong đó chỉ có 2 kẻ tưng tửng – Gintoki và Kagura – còn Shinpachi đóng vai trò là nhân tố dung hòa 2 đối tượng này – mặc dù chỉ là cố gắng dung hòa. Một con người nghiêm túc và thật thà, nhờ cậu ta mà chúng ta mới thấy dc những hành động của Gintoki và Kagura khác thường đến thế nào xD

Về bà chủ nhà trọ, như đã nói ở ep 2, tự nhiên thấy ko cảm tình với bà chủ lắm, nhưng đọc hết ep này thì mới hiểu ra con người tốt bụng này, đồng thời ep 4 cũng đã hé lộ một chút j` đó về con người xưa của Gintoki.

Đúng là truyện tranh. Nhân vật khi mới đầu xuất hiện bao giờ cũng được gán vào một tình huống bất thường và kèm theo đó là một hành động đột ngột vừa khác người. Chúng ta sẽ luôn nghĩ: anh/chị/hắn/nó… thật nổi bật với tình huống đó. Vậy là ngon rồi, chắc là tác giả đã cho nhân vật xuất hiện ấn tượng và thành công xD

Lại lảm nhảm.

Đến với chương đầu của Gintoki nhé, một tên kính cận thật thà, một kẻ tóc xoăn tốt bụng dưới lớp vỏ của một con người quái đản, hai trong số ba nhân vật chính đã xuất hiện. Tư tưởng và con người của hai người cũng bộc lộ phần nào trong chương đầu này.

Khá dài.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, by CLAMP
Tsubasa Chronicle is a manga series written by CLAMP, a team of 4 female manga artists. This is quite possibly my favorite manga of all time. Tsubasa is a sci-fi epic in the Shonen category about 5 travelers on a journey through magical and mysterious lands, trying to obtain powerful magic items and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands and causing large amounts of damage, not to mention trying to protect a lovely heroine. Sound familiar? However, although this may just seem like another cliche manga series that gets old quickly such as Bleach or Naruto, this is one of the few action series that actually does it well.

The storyline of Tsubasa crosses over with the CLAMP series xxxholic, contains references to Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth, also by the same authors, and features the alternate versions of several other CLAMP characters. It begins with 4 interdimensional travelers: Kurogane, a ninja with a bad temper and a serious, no-nonsense personality, Fai, a happy go-lucky magician with a mysterious past, and Syaoran, a boy determined to protect Sakura, the young princess that he loves. Each one travels with a different purpose, and with the help of Mokona, a small, powerful, and incredibly cute creature, they embark on a grand adventure through parallel universes to find the magical items that are the fragments of Sakura’s lost memory.

There are many reasons why I love this series so much. The artwork is dazzling, whether painting a melancholic romance, illustrating a vivid action or drama scene, or sporting Mokona’s irresistible cuteness. The storyline is masterfully written, containing many twists and turns to keep the reader hooked and begging to find out what happens next. And the characters couldn’t be better, each having a unique personality and background that supports the story and adds even more to the reading experience. Start reading this series, and I guarantee that you’ll soon start racing through it, eager to find out what new worlds and characters await the adventurers and see more of the action, comedy, and drama that makes Tsubasa Chronicles great.

Nana, by Ai Yazawa

As soon as I saw the very first episode of the anime, I loved it. Nana is a romantic comedy/drama somewhere in between the Shojo(girls) and Josei(Young Women) categories. The story takes place mainly in Tokyo, where Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki, two young women with the same name, yet with very different personalities, share an apartment. The series follows the two facing the difficulties and good times of life with Nana K’s love life and Nana O’s career in punk rock music.

Unlike the previous few series I have listed, there is no action, suspense, or fantasy elements. This is just a good old fashioned realistic fiction story illustrating the wonders of life. Although I typically don’t like these kinds of things, Nana has not only managed to keep me entertained, but also to touch my heart. As you watch the show or read the manga, the cute and witty comedy will bring a smile to your face and the beautiful romance and the powerful drama will bring tears to your eyes. But one thing that I especially love about the anime is the music. Although being a romance story, the anime features exciting punk rock songs and powerful rock ballads along with the pretty background music, making watching the show an especially wonderful experience. Overall, Nana proves itself to be an excellent drama that masterfully illustrates both the tough and blissful parts of life.

Gintama, by Hideaki Sorachi

Of all action adventure manga/anime series, this is one of my favorites. Gintama is a Shonen Manga that takes place in 1800s Japan around the time when the American Admiral Perry came and forced open the doors of the formerly isolated country. However, instead of the U.S. doing it, many groups of extraterrestrials, all called the Amanto by Japanese natives, stream into the country and form a puppet government. Because of this, the Japanese population becomes diverse with aliens of all sorts as well as the upset native humans, technology that would be considered futuristic even today comes in, and Japanese culture becomes similar to that of today. However, many humans are upset and want the Amanto foreigners out, so these people are heavily oppressed by the government. The story features Gintoki, a former exclusionist samurai who fought hard to try and drive the Amanto away. However, now that swords have been banned and the way of the Samurai has been crushed, Gin is a manga reading, soap opera watching slacker who runs a freelance odd jobs business with his friends, Shinpachi and Kagura. However, the spirit of the samurai still lingers within him, and he and his friends have many adventures and get into plenty of trouble in the new Japan.

One attractive thing about the series is how unique the plot is. In a way, this is quite similar to the harsh diplomacy between Japan and the West, but uses sci-fi elements to turn it into an excellent work of historical fiction. But perhaps the most appealing thing of all about Gintama is the comedy. Gin’s laid back personality, Kagura’s lack of common sense and large appetite, Shinpachi’s serious nature and bewilderment at the other two’s antics, and all their random and unnecessary comments make for some laugh out loud comedy that nobody can get enough of. This is definitely a series I would highly recommend to other otakus like myself and also suggest to those who only read a little manga or don’t read it at all.

As you have seen, many of the titles I have described so far are meant for girls, but I don’t care, for although I may have some other somewhat contradictory interests, I am still a softie at heart that will always fall for a cute romance. Anyways, I hope you will check out some of the series I have presented and find wonderful reading experiences similar to the ones I had.

Shinpachi meets Gintoki after Shinpachi was tripped by the ambassador of Planet Chatoran. Gintoki beats up the ambassador and his guards, not to stand up for Shinpachi, but to get revenge for his spilled parfait. Gintoki frames Shinpachi for the crime, which somehow led to him saving Shimura Tae (Otae), Shinpachi’s sister, from becoming part of a brothel.

Despite his meek appearance, Shinpachi is a more than competent swordsman of his family’s Kakidō-Ryu, the type of swordmanship his dojo teaches.

In the character popularity poll, he was in 8th place.

His name is roughly based on Shinsengumi member Nagakura Shinpachi and comedian Ken Shimura.

Shinpachi is 16 years old. His birthday is August 12. His height is 166 centimeters, and he weighs 55 kilograms.
