Black Friday rocks! I love it when Threadless has great sales, and I had a hunch that there would be something planned for this lovely day after Thanksgiving. Even if you’ve already shopped at Threadless this week, there’s always room for more sweet graphic t-shirts. The holidays are just around the corner, so you can gift them as well! Today I received a free replica shirt from the Victorian Bushrangers.

That isn’t the story.

The story is the tag on the shirt.

It says;

“A unique moisture wicking process made possible by the maximisation of the fibre capillary action through our unique profiled cross section structure will ensure all excessive moisture generate by the body is quickly moved to the fabrics surface.”

Try to overlook the fact that used unique twice in once sentence.

What a sentence that is, and what it means to them is;

“Each fabric has been designed to maximise the athletes performance in their preferred discipline.”

For some sports, swimming for example, I am sure that clothes can make a big difference.

I am not sure that even with unique wicking it is that big a difference in cricket.

This top has obviously been designed with professional cricketers in mind.

But every time I looked at a normal everyday bog standard cricket shirt this year they had wicking technology that would improve me, or were simply designed for enhancing my performance.

And yet, none of them seem to make my wrong’un land more consistently.

Weird.

Van Halen World Tour T Shirts is the epitome of Van Halen. T Shirts are used to savor the great times gained by going to their concerts and even meeting group members. Lets take a look back at the rise of group and some of the high times and low times of the group.

Since their 1978 eponymous debut, wow that was a long time ago, Van Halen has been rocking crowds. Simultaneously, Van Halen rewrote any and all the rules of rock rock guitar. Eddie redefined what a true guitarist was developing a blindingly fast techniques. Included in these techniques was a variety of self taught two handed tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and effects that mimicked the sounds of machines and animals. At the time no one was doing this. It was only compared equal to vocalist David Lee Roth, who brought the role of a metal singer to near-performance art standards. Unlike Eddie, Roth did not have the blessing of great technique. But what he did have took off, showmanship. Together, with a lot of hard work, they made Van Halen into one of the most popular American rock & roll band of the late ’70s and early ’80s, and in the process set the template for hard rock and heavy metal for the ’80s.

The ’80s is when Van Halen really took off. Due to the fact that it was impossible to not have heard of Van Halen’s instrumental technique on recoreds that ranged from the heaviest metal to soft pop. To give them more of a spot light, other heavy metal groups stated copying the antics of Roth. One of these was Sammy Hagar, an arena rock veteran from the ’70s who replaced Roth after the vocalist had a falling out with Van Halen in 1985. Hagar stayed with the band longer than Roth, helping the group top the charts through the late ’80s and early ’90s. However, the group’s sales began to slide in the mid-’90s, just as tensions between Hagar and Eddie began to arise. In one of the most disastrous publicity stunts in rock history, Hagar was fired (or quit) and Roth was brought back on, seemingly as a permanent member, but only for two songs on a greatest-hits album. He was subsequently replaced by Gary Cherone, a former member of Extreme.

Hi everyone,

I want everyone to know that I am not just the art guy at Thompson’s Originals but also a client. If you can’t love what you design then I just don’t see the joy in doing this sort of work.  So…yes I can be my biggest fan and therefore pardon my bias.

With that being said I recently purchased my Christmas wardrobe of T-shirts and the fine folks at Printfection got them printed and out to my door just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend.  In case anyone was wondering the quality of the t-shirt prints from Printfection, (my current choice of online printers) I decided to take a picture with my digital camera. As you can see that the shirts feature a large and bright, bold print and the colors come out flawlessly. True the colors on the darker T-shirts are not as vibrant as they are on the lighter T-shirts they still do stand out rather nicely from the darker shirt material.  (You can click on the image for a larger view.)

One of the things I got done last week was to create a series of product using my photo, Forest Sun Rays in the Snow #32. A snow covered branch creates an arch, with ferns hanging from its moss covered bark, across a tree lined path toward the summit of this hill in the woods of Rainier Oregon. Beyond the forest the sky shines crystal blue in the early morning light.

I hate to get ripped off and when I part with my money I want to make sure I am paying for a quality product. I needed to have the new stylish look, I wanted to look great and I wanted to people to know I could afford Polo shirts. Course, now that I have my own family, they come first. I am sure your clothing budget is probably the same as mine.

We want to look great but do not want to break the bank either. Well I have found a trusted source where I find clearance polo shirts at discount prices.

The Columbia River shines radiantly in the sunrise as it flows tranquilly towards the pacific ocean bordered by dark silhouettes of evergreen trees standing like sentinels on the Oregon shore and mist shrouded mountains beyond in Washington.

I saw a pickup truck parked on my street today. I felt like Will Ferrell in Elf when he gets excited about seeing a dog. You don’t see many dogs in the North Pole, and you really don’t see many F-150’s parallel parked in the city.

On an unrelated note (because I’m not sure where to go with the above tid-bit), here are some sketches to be added to my portfolio:

They remind me of clothes to put on paper dolls. I may have made them dance around a bit.
