I haven’t been reading much in English lately, apart from the internet. I have The Naked And The Dead on the go at the minute but it must have been about five days ago since I last picked it up. I’ve mostly been reading photography books in Japanese because I can equate it with studying.

ne of my favorite blogs had this ingenious idea for old business cards. I had a ton of cards and a ton of scrapbook paper, so I went to work. I used a mouse hole punch and glued the card onto precut pieces of scrapbook paper. All the paper I chose happened to be white on the back, so the cards are uniform with each other – though the relief pattern is different on all the cards. I tried the sticker idea and wasn’t happy with it, so I got out my stamps and stamped “thanks” or “thank-you” on all the cards. A hand written note can then be put on the back and included with the shipment. Classy!

Heads up! I recently bought the mouse hole punch by Martha Stewart on sale at the local Micheals. Well, I figured out why it was on sale when I tried to punch two cards at a time. Um, don’t do that. I broke the piece off that separates his arms, so now his cute little hands look like stubs. Oh, well. I may be the only one who notices. Well, now you will, but I don’t think it’ll be consequential.

Wirklich ernst gemeint oder nur ein Scherz? Das bekannte I love NY Shirt wird seit Jahren mehr oder weniger schön kopiert. Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich dieses Exemplar der unschönen Gattung in einem Designladen in Wiesbaden entdeckt.

Macht sich der “Künstler” mit der Serifenschrift über das Wiesbadener Image lustig oder ist das ernst gemeint? Für mich geht das Motiv auf jeden Fall als das steifste und liebloseste der I love NY Geschichte ein.

…und weil´s so schön war, gibt es noch einen zweiten post hinterher.
heute hatte ich nämlich adventsausbruch.
nachdem ich mich- als katholikin!- von meinem elfjährigen nachbarn anton belehren lassen musste, dass man traditionell erst nach dem totensonntag die weihnachtsdeko anbringen darf, hatte ich extra noch gewartet.
aber heute gab´s kein halten mehr!
ich bin zwei stunden früher in den laden, um in ruhe den adventskranz so aufhängen und gestalten zu können, wie ich es mir erträumt hatte.
das prachtstück habe ich am samstag auf dem markt ergattert und nun hängt es im schaufenster.
die inspiration für die deko kam von freunden aus leipzig.
die hatten letztes jahr ( ohje, war das tatsächlich das letzte mal, dass ich sie besucht habe?!) einen wunderschönen, kleinen kranz über dem esstisch hängen und lauter kleine erzgebirge-figuren dran.
wundervoll!
ich habe auch ein paar figuren von meiner oma, kaufe mir aber jedes mal, wenn ich in leipzig am hauptbahnhof bin eine neue dazu.
und irgendwann habe ich dann eine schöne kleine sammlung.
aber noch ist mein kranz kunterbunt behängt, mit figuren und kugeln aus verschiedenen epochen.
oh, ich liebe weihnachtsdekoration!

Hey! Andávamos super sumidos do blog, correndo pra terminar a nova coleção, que finalmente saiu!

As novas peças já estão bonitas e faceiras na loja virtual da Vish! E olha que essa “Private Party” nem bem começou e já está nos enchendo de orgulho. Assim que lançamos a coleção, ainda nem tínhamos começado a divulgar que as peças já estavam disponíveis, o frenesi na loja começou. Alguns modelos já estão até esgotados! Como assim???

Bom, a surpresa foi grande pra gente também. Claro que estávamos apostando nas peças, mas não imaginávamos que alguns modelos iam acabar tão rápidos.  Super orgulho dos nossos babies! Mas o que importa mesmo é que ainda tem muitos modelos lindões esperando na lojinha! Minha dica pra não ficar sem é não perder tempo e correr lá na loja agora mesmo.

Além do Vish! Shop, que foi ao ar hoje de manhã, a versão oficial (e linda!) do site também está prontinha. Nosso mundo Vish! ficou um deslumbre.  Minha vontade é ficar aqui babando ovo on and on, mas, sei lá, bate uma certa modéstia, hehehe. Além do mais, a coleção está meio tímida…

Então, pra eu não me passar na babação, acho melhor contar um pouquinho do processo, assim eu fico mais objetiva e menos coruja =)

Eu e o Luiz (heart and soul da Vish!) sempre nos preocupamos muito com o tema da coleção. Pra que tudo saia as fierce as possible a cada lançamento, a gente fica semanas e semanas pesquisando, discutindo tendências, comportamento e tudo o mais que possa servir de inspiração. Antes de a gente se concentrar nessa coleção, já tínhamos elaborado um projeto pra Casa de Criadores, que misturava clubes seletos, chá das cinco e esportes aristocráticos. Faltava só um twist pop… and then it hit us! Tímidos! Tímidos everywhere. Parece que depois de ser nerd, the next cool thing é ser tímido! Basta dar uma olhada no lookbook.nu pra se ter uma dimensão da epidemia! É bem verdade, que a maioria exagera uma timidez que não existe, mas nós, tímidos de longa data, adoramos a idéia e assim surgiu a “Pivate Party”, que, de tão privada, pode ser festa de uma pessoa só!

A partir daí foi só pirar no tema e começar a desenvolver estampas que traziam um pouco desse universo: moleskines, cupcakes, tea-shirts, lugares bucólicos, castelo de cartas, sombras com animais e tudo o mais que na nossa cabeça nos remetesse a uma festa de um só.

Bom, as coisas funcionaram melhor ainda quando resolvemos inovar no catálogo. Inovar? Em vez de fotografar com digital, optamos por experimentar (mais uma vez) com o analógico. Fotografamos todo o catálogo com filme. Cruzamos muito os dedos para que tudo desse certo no final! Lembram daquele friozinho na barriga antes de pegar as fotos que estão no laboratório? Bom, né? O detalhe é que a gente estava fotografando com uma câmera lomográfica, a Diana F+, com filme 120, e pela primeira vez! Mas os dedos cruzados deram certo no final e o resultado da nossa experiência está lá no site. E as experimentações não devem parar por aí, já reservamos uma sessão pra galeria lomográfica, mais um projeto da Vish!, que vai surgir em muito breve.
