In this issue Terry Richardson features plus-sized model Crystal Renn along side a traditional model-size zero, Jacquelyn Jablonski. Wearing identical looks, the models are similarly posed to prove a point. To prove that bright, form-fitting fashion can not only work on girl with a 24 inch waist but can also look just as fashionable around Renn’s 41 inch hips.

Princess Riri is most certainly edgy with her fashion and isn’t afraid of anything. I’ve seen her rock the ugliest pieces and yet she makes it look like beautiful art. She is definitely on my list of fashion icons as most daring.

I’m a sucker for anything pink and I just love love her miniskirt by L’Wren Scott.

Only toads are happy with the rain. I remember the days when I was  only seven or eight when the toads were singing joyfully in the rain outside my classroom. They sounded so happy, as if every single drop of the rain was a blessing from the Gods. Amphibians. What do you expect, eh? They pray for the rain night and day. But I hate frogs and toads, especially the infamous kodok blentung. Kermit on Sesame Street is cute, but all the toads I have encountered are slimy and repulsive. Ah, yes, now I remember that giant, ugly toad who hid behind the banana tree near the warung at school. I believed he was stalking me. That thing, the toad, that brownish toad! Thank God school is over and my workplace is far from the swamps (You see, the field at my junior high school, a Muhammadiyah school, always turned into a swamp when the rainy season came). But as soon as I grew up, I began to forget the toads. Perhaps because I now live in the heavily urbanized Jakarta, where the singing toads are no longer heard. Where are they now? Are they on Facebook too? Or perhaps because the rain reminds of something else now, something fuzzy, something that I cannot tell what it is, no matter how hard I try to retrieve it. Is it first love? Is it God? Is it part of the past that wants to be remembered? I don’t know. It’s a longing without an object to long for. It’s a human thing. It’s something that science cannot explain. I call it melancholy.

So the sky is dark and the roads are wet and slippery in Jakarta. Here’s a song by Jubing Kristianto. It’s called Once Upon a Rainy Day. I just learned to play it a few days ago. It’s actually one of his easy pieces, but amateurs are amateurs. My playing is far from clean. And as much as I want you to know that I know that we all know that I just want to show off my guitar playing here, do note that I dedicate this song to all of you who, like me, have a sort of a love affair with the rain.

NB: The back sound was not the sound of the rain. It was actually the little fan in my room. But, anyway, lets just pretend it was really the sound of the pouring rain.

She always amazes me with her down-to-earth, simple yet classy style. Whether she is out grocery shopping just wearing a banana republic white tee with jeans, or on the red carpet in Nina Ricci, she always manages to look classy and beautiful. On her way out of her London hotel, she is pretty in pink with black dotted leggings and booties. Just so classy!

January 2010 issue of Elle, Lady Gaga embraces us with the info behind her extended album release “THE FAME” and shows she’s not just your typical “sex pop star”.

Ok, sequins aren’t really my thing. When you wear it they get caught in things and sometimes they start folding on you, and you definitely can’t machine wash them! And for a girl thats on the go like me that’s too much maintenance. Aside from all that, the tie dye sequins that i’ve been seeing around my office and on celebs are not so bad after all. I don’t know if it’s the holiday spirit getting into me or what but i might just buy a pair from our sample rack. (FYI: I’m a receptionist  at belldini’s fashion house; google it!)

Soooooo if you don’t know by now you NEED to know this.   The Deader than you tour is rockin off…it finishes 31st of October yup halloween you can no longer swap your bats for anything anywhere at all.

How it works:

1. buy stuff at any of the stores on the tour with bats in it (bats? wtf?  yes bats, these are tokens are lil pieces of lovings for you, that you then do stuffage with but it isnt compulsory and no pressure to do anything with)

2. You turn the token bats in for COOL STUFF before the end of the month.  Each store has cool shit you can get for the tokens.  You can only get these prizes for the  bats (zomg the bats again they wont go away) you give back to the store owner.  (confused yet? dont worry you get a notecard to splain all this with the bats)

3.  You are happy, we’re happy, everyone is happy.

Tokens are redeemable at ANY store along the tour, so you can turn in tokens you bought from this store somewhere else. All token items come with a token bat that can be redeemed for really nifty prizes. All token items have an explanation of how to redeem the bats. Bats can only be redeemed by the stores included on the tour.  IE: buy stuff from my store with bats in it you can redeem them at Silent Sparrow…nother example buy stuff at Sn@tch and redeem at Schadenfreude.  You can redeem it at ANY STORE (yes really).  what you can’t do is ask me for someone elses prizes.  I dont have em
