Sears is in hot water this week, and it’s not in the form of shiny water heaters and LG washing machines. According to Unicorn Booty and zimbio Sears is getting power-soaked in tweets from angry customers in regards to a series of third party shirts that were available from their online store.

The line ofdesigner tees included slogans reading:

“Don’t Make Me Kick You

In The Fallopian Tube”

“I <3 Butt Plugs”

“Don’t Make Me Kick You

In The Birth Canal”

I’d like to think I’m one with a healthy sense of humor, so I actually found these to be quite funny. However, there was a design that is a little off-putting. I had to do a Google search for the shirt because Sears pulled it off their site, but here it is:

“Nice Girls Don’t Pepper Spray”

It isn’t really that funny, and just the image itself isn’t really that out of line. It’s the fact that they were selling them in kids sizes that set some consumers off.

Agreeing with Unicorn Booty’s post, Carol’s message to the company sums it all up.

She writes:

Dear Sears,

“Don’t make me kick you in the birth canal”? “Don’t make me kick you in the fallopian tubes”? “Nice girls don’t use pepper spray”? In children’s sizes? Are you kidding me?

How about these instead: “Sears: Where American Misogynists Shop” Or “Don’t make me kick you in your slim profit margin”

The shirts have since been pulled off their site, and it seems their automated Twitter response has been activated. If a mention comes across on their Twitter feed  speaking of the T-shirts they a mention back stating:

“Thanks for the feedback, that 3rd-party vendor’s products have been removed for violating marketplace guidelines. “

Do you think these shirts were really that offensive? Do you think it’s wrong for Sears to pass the blame on third-parties? Should Sears be held responsible for not screening the products they sell on their website? Or should everyone just shut up, stop being so uptight, and laugh a little?

How long it took?

It took about a week for all items to arrive at Gmarket warehouse.

This time round, I decided to go by EMS since DPD delivery is getting slower recently. =(

By the way, the status “In Overseas Shipping Process” stayed the same during the weekend and only changed on Monday (parcel is shipped out that day too). So yup, Gmarket warehouse don’t do packing on weekends.

EMS took only two days to deliver the parcel AWESOME!

The Parcel

I was taken by surprise when I saw the parcel. I seriously don’t remember ordering any posters! Why is it in such a LONG box?

I was not surprised to see that the box is only half-filled…

The Haul

Now, you can guess which one is the “culprit” to the LONG gmarket box ya?

1. Hair Extension Haul

The bright pink box contained hair extension which I intended to use for my pony tail. I know there are pony tail extensions out there but I didn’t want to make my pony tail appear too thick (which most pony tail extensions do). Using one piece hair extension is just nice I feel and it’s cheaper! But I need to find a way to clip it on thou..

The seller was nice enough to gift me a comb, two hair clips and some bobby pins. Instructions of use were included as well.

The quality of the hair extension is REALLY GOOD! Smooth and natural in terms of touch and look ^^

2. Etude House Haul

As always, Etude House always give generous bubblewrap instead of putting the items in boxes which are heavier! I really like it this way cos it makes shipping cheaper!

Because Etude House was having 30% off everything, I couldn’t resist the urge to get something fro them. Knowing that I already have TONNES of skincare, I restricted myself from buying unnecessary products and ended up with these:

A nail polish (for Chinese New Year!), Moistfull Set (my review for the cream is here) for my sister, Black Charcoal Chin Pack and Black Head Bond Patch!

No freebies this time round but I guess it’s due to the fact that everything was on 30% discount =/

3. Plain T-shirts Haul

The items in the G-Market white plastic bag are plain t-shirts

Going at 2,000 won each (exclusive of the domestic and overseas shipping fees), I didn’t expect great quality. As expected, it’s really thin and sheer when stretched (cos it’s really fitting for me)! T_T But I supposed wearing it a jacket or cardigan over should be ok…

Even without stretching it, it’s kinda sheer as well. I took a picture from the insides of the t-shirt and here’s it:

4. it’s skin Haul

The item I was looking forward the most!

It’s the it’s skin Power 10 VB Effector for oil control! *My excuse for this is because I have no serums in my current skincare stash. HAHA*

I’ve heard great reviews about the Power 10 effectors from it’s skin and can’t be more happy when I saw that Gmarket Global launched it! GREAT! I’ve been lemming for sometime already! I wonder why Gmarket Japan sells it but Gmarket Global doesn’t back then! So I must grab it before the seller decides to closes international shipping like Innisfree! *Another excuse!*

I decided to get one to try first and hence decided on the oil control one first. If I’m happy with this one, I’ll order the Pore Control & Whitening (it appears to be their top selling serum!) one the next time (I wonder when will that be? ^^”")

The serum cames with lots of freebies (three masks and their uber expensive Creme de Escargot samples!) , all stuffed in that small box. HAHA At least it sort of helped to ease the pain of paying domestic shipping fees (2,500 won) for just the serum (I wanted to get more other serums but I stopped myself…)

5. Innisfree Samples Haul

My third skincare buy from this haul =p

60 packs of Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask (4ml) & 30 bottles of Red Wine Peeling Softener (5ml)

My reasons for buying the items are:

1. I’m loving the Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask and is running out of it!
2. This seller sells it CHEAPER than the previous one (see my Gmarket Haul #6)
3. I need a gentler exfoliator as I’m starting to find my Eucerin one too harsh and my Ginvera Green Tea Marvel gel running out too
4. I’m an alcoholic like anything that has got red wine! HAHA

Justified? I hope so. HAHA

The softener didn’t leaked out I was so afraid it would! But the seller packed them in a box so it’s safe I guess!

6. Kpop Haul

Haha. This haul is for my fellow 2NE1 fan (not sure if we are considered hardcore enough to be BlackJacks?) cum bestie!

I ordered the To Anyone (2NE1) and High High (GD & TOP, from the group BigBang) albums. Both groups are AWESOME so if you’re reading this now, pls head over to youtube, look for their official youtube accounts NOW and watch their MVs!!

I passed the albums to my friend later in the night (coincidentally booked her that night to shop for birthday presents) and she opened up the albums for me to see I didn’t bring my camera along so no pics… ^^”

Both albums include photobooks which contains the lyrics (2NE1′s are handwritten by all memebers!), high quality studio shots and MV shots, YG Family cards and of course, the CD. For an additional 1,000 won, you will get their album posters as well

I ordered without the poster (as instructed by my friend) and after telling about how awesome the GD & TOP poster is (I read about the poster on Miketsu’s blog, another G-Market lover ), I think she’s kinda regretted it. HAHA

I myself is lemming to get the albums as well cos the quality of the packaging is REALLY REALLY GOOD. T_T

7. Checked Shirts Haul

I wanted a checked shirt in red for a long time already (I had one but it was too small for me) and when I saw the shirt, I knew I had to get it! =p In time for Chinese New Year as well

Well, in my first cart (I sent in two orders as I wanted to utilise my Cash Balance and combined the orders together to make shipping cheaper), I ordered the WRONG one, the one in blue T_T

Thank goodness I discovered the error (don’t ask me why I had the sudden thought of double-checking my order AFTER i ordered) when I was about to place my 2nd order so that I could get the red checked shirt. I was contemplating whether to cancel my first one but I decided to get it since it’s looks pretty nice and I hardly have anything in blue Moreover, it was on discount so it’s quite cheap

Both shirts are pretty thin and sheer (it’s ok since it’s not tight-fitting), excellent for the hot weather in Singapore (but recently it’s kinda colddddd). I was kinda scared that it’ll be thick because most clothing over at Gmarket are meant for winter wear since it’s winter in Korea right now.

Both shirts are true to the picture in terms of cutting, design and colour

The red one has 3/4 sleeves while the blue one has long sleeves.

8. Stickers Haul

The last items of my haul

Really pretty and cute I wanted to get more but the rest were pretty expensive and not to my taste. These stickers are meant for designing my scrapbook which will be gifts for my girlfriends who went with me on my Bintan trip!

These stickers come in two pieces (identical). It’s great for me since I wanna do something similar for both of my friends.

What’s saddening is the seller actually ship them in a BIG box. T_T

Now thinking back, these stickers cost me almost SGD$8 excluding shipping =/ But for my friends, it’s worth it. HAHA

I’m pretty satisfied with this haul. I got my clothes, skincare and stickers in pretty short time

The only complaint is the big boxes issue again =/ I hope that they will be more flexible in packing again. Like opening up boxes to contain the smaller items together like in one of my previous hauls…

I’m not sure if I’ll be hauling from G-Market again any time soon due to my skincare ban.. I guess I’ll most probably haul when winter is over and sellers start introducing the Spring/Summer collections soon

Hmm.. But Valentine is coming soon!!! Should I get something from G-Market for my girlfriends? MUAHAHA!
