Google Goggles (FREE) – Generally available across all platforms and in all mobile stores, this is a must have app. Google tends to “go big or go home” and with Goggles, the company shows us the endless capacity for search results that you can find on their website. With the promise of “Search the real world by taking a picture.” Goggles utilizes the camera on your smartphone to take a picture of any object. Goggles then scans that object and returns any relevant search results that can be found across the internet. It can identity company logos, products, faces, landmarks, artwork, etc. It can be used to scan barcodes, QR codes, text translation (merely take a picture of foreign text and it will find a translation for you), OCR scans, any image 3D or 2D. It has facial recognition software to find similar photos. Goggles can even solve your Sudoku puzzles for you! It’s a tremendously useful app with numerous possibilities. Another similarly good app: QR Barcode Scanner.

JustWink (FREE) – A website of the same name, JustWink is now a mobile app that helps users send greeting cards via several methods on their phone. You can create a card and send it from your email, through a text message, or post to a social network. After creating an account with JustWink.com (don’t worry, it’s also free) you have access to thousands of card templates. The graphics are realistic looking and the cards themselves allow you to insert photos from your phone, leave a personal message, and digitally sign it with your fingertip (for touchscreen users). Any holiday or occasion, you’ll have the perfect card to send out. JustWink also has an option to set reminders as well, so you can make sure you never miss an important anniversary or birthday. Another similarly good app: Correos eCard.

LookOut (FREE) – Currently available only for Android, LookOut is a really simple to use phone security and antivirus application. The free version will scan your phone for viruses, malware, or spyware and report to you on a schedule. If you set it to always run, it will keep an icon in your info bar either reporting a problem or typically stating “Everything is ok.” When you add new content from the Google Play app store, LookOut automatically scans it for malicious content and reports to you whether the application is safe to use. The free version also scans your phone regularly and creates a backup in the event your data is ever wiped and you need to restore your phone. It also has a missing device feature that allows you to get on the My LookOut website and track your phone in the event of loss or theft. Users can upgrade to the Premium version ($2.99 a month or $29.99 a year) and receive added features like Privacy Adviser which keeps an eye on any apps that can track your information or location; and Safe Browsing which allows you to use your phone’s internet with little to no worry. If you don’t have an Android interface, be sure your phone has some type of antivirus software. Almost 15% of all cyber attacks happen from online games or internet browsing. Get a free app and an added measure of security for your phone. Another similarly good app: McAfee Mobile Security.

Poynt (FREE) – An extremely useful app to have on Blackberry or Android devices, Poynt delivers information that you need. When the app first opens, you get weather information based on your current location. It allows you to search restaurants, movies, businesses, people, events, gas prices, and current deals. The interface is plain and simple with a homescreen offering a spinning carousel of small icons. The search results are quick and accurate. Their tagline is “Where can we Poynt you today?” and that bills it for exactly what it is: an app for saying what you want and getting it. Simple as that. Another similarly good app: Localious.

Bump (FREE) – This application can be fairly described as the new business card. Instead of carrying a pocket full of cards or a pen to copy other’s information, you can easily exchange contact info with another person just by “bumping” phones together (as long as the other person also has the Bump app). With Bump, you can upload a photo and add your name, addresses, numbers, website URL, FaceBook, Twitter, and LinkedIn account links. With two people using Bump, they can bring their phones together and swap contact information instantly. Bump allows you to store that person’s information directly to your contacts. But that isn’t all it can do. If you and a friend have Bump, you can take advantage of its other features. Like swapping photos, sharing apps, syncing phones, and trading contact information for other people. It’s available for both Android and iPhone, and you should definitely get it. 75 million other downloaders agree. Another similarly good app: FriendSend.

Wattpad (FREE) – Now this is a really amazing app for anybody who is an avid reader. The age of e-books is ever expanding and Wattpad states plainly in their developer’s page that it’s application is “the world’s largest community of readers and writers.” If the over 100,000 FREE books in its database doesn’t entice you, then maybe this will: it allows you to read undiscovered writers and upload your own stories to their website. If you are an unpublished author, you can upload your story and have other users read and vote on it. Wattpad is the epitome of the eReading experience and is a must for any writer or reader. Available for Android and iPhone both. Another similarly good app: Vampire Library. (Recommended reading material: Not Well.)

Pixlr-o-matic (FREE) – The development of better cameraphones has created a wave a new photo editing applications. Pixlr-o-matic is one of the best free ones available. You can transfer your photos into vintage images in a few easy steps. There are lighting effects, color overlays, and borders. Their enter catalog boasts more than 5 million different possible finishes and combinations for photos. Created photos can be saved back into the phone or shared via email or social updater. In 2011, this application was voted “Best App Ever” by Andriod users when determining the best photo editing app. It has over 32,000 5 star reviews and has been praised by critics as being one of the best photo editing applications available in the marketplace today. The most unsung prize for this application is that fact it doesn’t cram a bunch of ads into its interface. You get the app free, and only the app. Both Android and iPhone users should take advantage of this easy to use photo editing software. Another similarly good app: PicSay.

Zedge (FREE) – One widget, and it contains the world. This app lets you search for absolutely free ringtones, wallpapers, and games from all over the world. With 40 million users and content of over 200 million and growing downloads, Zedge is great for any phone. Zedge is diverse and is a rare app that offers both quantity and quality to its users. It has family settings to block graphic content, and there are links to share content with other users or friends on social networks. Another similarly good app: Myxer.

Shush! (FREE) – We’ve all received missed messages because we had an oops moment and forgot to turn our ringer back on. Well the Shush! App solves all that. For most touchscreen users, there’s a bar on your unlock screen that you slide to mute your phone. With Shush! installed, a popup message comes on allowing you to set a timer for when to turn the ringer back on. Going into work? Set, an 8 hour timer. Going to see a movie? Silence the phone for 2 hours and let it turn the sound back on by itself. The app also works when using the volume buttons. The pop-up also has an option to just “Keep It Off” and not set a timer. A very handy app that makes sure you never miss another call by forgetting to turn the ringer back on. Another similarly good app: Husher.

I’m not really a big fan of word stomach tattoos but I thought these were done well enough and they give you more things to look at. My avatar rarely has her stomach on display, there’s just too many more interesting things to cover it with. :3

And since my designer pick was Shag, I had to wear one of the brand’s hairstyles in this post. I chose Bombshell, one of my all-time favorites (actually it’s a handy choice whenever I want Moniq to wear earrings and look sexy). I can’t wait to see the Culture Shock release!

Speaking of earrings, this jewelry set is by Phresh and will be available as prize in the High Voltage Hunt starting today. My outfit is made of several items from my “to blog” folder, so they are not quite this week’s releases, but I think they are pretty awesome and worth showing. The top is by Shush, the skirt is by American Bazaar and was a Wer Gray special, I hope you can find it at the store now. It comes with clothing layers, but the skirt prim is rigged mesh, so it moves with the body and it does now come with sizing problems,

I chose Deco pumps and a purse by House of Fox to finish the look, plus Glitterati poses (I somehow go back to Glitterati’s model poses when I’m in a hurry, because I know there will be at least one that works for the day’s outfit).

One more thing that you need to know is that Moniq’s skin is a preview of a new line to be released at Heartsick. This version was sent to the group members and, like all HS skins recently, it has one of the prettiest faces on the grid.

Words are so powerful! They hurt, heal, divide, and encourage.

How are you using your words? Are you thinking when you speak?

I find that the more comfortable I am with a person the less I guard my speech. But in all relationships I need to be striving to be Christ-like with my words.

Do I think before I speak? Do I stop when I can hear the ridiculousness pouring out?
