Life without computers is difficult, maybe impossible. Are you brave enough to shut down your computer for a day?

Shutdown Day is one of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the Internet. The idea is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day — this year D-day falls on Saturday May 3, 2008.

What to do Just shut down your computer and involve yourself in some other activity, just to remind yourself that there still exists a world outside your monitor.

What I did All I can say is that I tried. And failed. And I wrote this blog post for you. And considering the fact you are probably reading this on May 3, you haven’t been able to stay away from your computer either. Well, for losers like us there’s always next year.

Questo blog (e il tumblr, e il mio jaiku e il mio twitter) aderisce alla giornata mondiale dello spegnimento del computer. Andando sul sito ufficiale (www.shutdownday.org) si può confermare la propria partecipazione impegnandosi in questo modo a tenere spento il proprio computer/notebook/palmare per un intero giorno.

Certo la scelta del giorno prefestivo favorisce molti in questo impegno, ma non sono pochi quelli che avranno non poca difficoltà nello staccarsi da tastiera e mouse. Potrebbe essere una buona prova per verificare la propria dipendenza da internet, no?

Il est évident que sans les ordinateurs nous trouverions notre vie extrêmement difficile, voire impossible. Si ils ont disparu pour une seule journée, serions-nous en mesure de faire face?

Shutdown Day est une grandes expériences globales sur internet. L’idée derrière cette Journée d’arrêt, est de savoir combien de personnes peuvent vivre sans ordinateur durant une journée entière.

Visitando varios sitios en la web me he encontrado con esta noticia frecuentemente y decidido ser parte de este dia “Shutdown Day” el reto es que mantengas las 24 horas del dia apagado tu ordenador, se que para algunos es casi imposible sin embargo creo que si lo puedo lograr, espero se unan mas a este gran reto!.

Lagi lagi berita dari dekinet.com ini menarik perhatian saya ke dalam suatu perenungan. Tanggal 3 Mei, beberapa hari mendatang konon dicanangkan sebagai Shutdown Day. Di pelopori oleh para geek asal kanada Silahkan baca beritanya disini.

Peringatan tersebut mengajak kepada semua orang (diplanet bumi) untuk merenungkan bagaimana pengaruh teknologi dalam peradaban manusia. Sebegitunya manusia ber(ter)gantung pada makhluk yang namanya teknologi. Bagaimana rasanya kalau manusia hidup tanpa ponsel, pc, kendaraan dan benda ‘teknologi lainya’.

Bagaimana ya dunia tanpa listrik dan minyak?

Apakah manusia bisa hidup tanpa teknologi?

Sebelum menjawabnya mungkin saya memahami teknologi seperti ini :

Semua hasil karya cipta manusia dari suatu pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang dapat / bisa di terapkan secara berulang ulang oleh manusia (menurut saya) adalah teknologi. Keterampilan manusia dalam berbahasa (bertutur -  menulis), keterampilan dalam memecahkan permasalahan, kemampuan dalam berdiplomasi dan menjalin dukungan dan kemampuan untuk merencanakan masa depan adalah contoh lain dari teknogi.

Demokrasi, sama halnya dengan karya cipta manusia merupakan teknologi dalam berbangsa dan bernegara yang relatif lebih bisa diterima pada jaman kekinian dibanding teknologi monarki …

Teknologi identik dengan ponsel, komputer, satelit, bomb atum, listrik, transportation fasilities, public utilities. Yang terakhir ini menurut saya merupakan penyempitan makna teknologi.

Jadinya Bagaimana :

… apakah kira kira kita sanggup hidup tanpa teknologi?

… apakah ada yang salah kalau kita tidak bisa hidup tanpa akrab dengan teknolgi?

… apakah ( apakah apakah yang selanjutnya masih saya cari

Esta es una iniciativa que trata de no encender la computadora por todo un dia; para algunos quiza no significa nada no encerder la compu, pero para otros nos es casi vital.

Você consegue sobreviver 24 horas sem ligar o PC? Essa é a campanha que o site Shutdown Day está realizando, desde o ano passado, a fim de mobilizar internautas do mundo inteiro para a questão do uso excessivo do computador, no trabalho e nas horas vagas de lazer. A proposta é fazer pessoas refletirem sobre como suas rotinas mudaram após o surgimento dessas tecnologias e conscientizá-las de que existe vida além do monitor. No site do projeto há, também, um espaço para compartilhar comentários e dicas sobre o que fazer nesse dia. As respostas mais comentadas ganham destaque na home.

Contando a partir de 14 de abril, dia em que a campanha foi ao ar, os participantes já formam uma rede absurdamente grande de participantes . Os que aderiram ao “Eu consigo” encontram-se na casa dos milhares e os do “Eu não consigo” não passam das centenas. A greve acontecerá em 3 de maio, sábado, quando os provedores de internet vão à falência.

Shutdown Day é um evento mundial e uma organização sem fins lucrativos estabelecida em Quebec, Canadá, criados com o propósito exclusivo de trazer consciência para os perigos e armadilhas que residem no uso excessivo de televisão, computadores e outros equipamentos eletrônicos, como games, celulares, MP3 players, … que roubam grande parte do nosso tempo e afetam significativamente nosso comportamento social.

A primeira mobilização ocorreu no ano passado e a idéia é que as pessoas, voluntariamente sem recursos tecnológicos à disposição, façam outras coisas que incrementem a sua qualidade de vida.

Eu admito ser viciado em computadores. Já tive problemas com a minha máquina a ponto de não poder utilizá-la por alguns dias e não sofri com isso, mas já deixei de fazer coisas e cheguei atrasado a compromissos por me embrenhar em pesquisas online, conversas pelo MSN e coisas do gênero por mais tempo do que deveria.

Dia 3 de maio cai num sábado. A proposta é interessante, embora ainda considere meio mal trabalhada como campanha. Penso aqui em me propor um Shutdown Day mensal, mas, por enquanto, fico fora do ar no próximo dia 3… rs

Sounds fun! But I doubt I can do it unless my PCs decide to shut down themselves that day

I wonder my pupils can do it as well. Some of them are spending more time online than I do!

Un’iniziativa singolare per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sulla “schiavitù” tecnologia dei computer che condizionano la nostra vita.
Viene così lanciato lo Shutdown Day, il prossimo 3 Maggio 2008, in cui viene richiesto agli utenti di non accedere il proprio pc per 24 ore.
L’idea dietro lo Shutdown Day è quella di cercare di capire in quanti sarebbero disposti a stare senza computer per un giorno e cosa potrebbe succedere.
