So last week, I was honored to help out with a book signing for The Gathering Storm, the newest Wheel of Time book.  The creator was Robert Jordan, after he died in 2007, Brandon Sanderson was hired to complete the series.  The Wheel of Time is an epic fantasy series consisting of 12 books, with 2 more to come in the next two years to finish it up.  I highly recommend it if you are into that kind of thing.

Brandon Sanderson is author of many amazing books, including the Mistborn trilogy and a series of Young Adult novels called Alcatrez that are basically improv writing.  Seriously, if you have a 9-13 year old who enjoys snarky comments and stories about librarians that rule the world, or have ever BEEN a 9-13 year old, you need to check them out.  For serious.

As payment for helping out with the book signing, we got to have dinner with Mr. Sanderson, paid for by the publisher.  During the dinner, we got to ply him with tons of questions about anything we wanted.  Only a few were about the Wheel of Time series, but I did get to get in my question.  It’s convoluted and confusing to anyone that hasn’t read them, but it was a question I had asked the previous author, Robert Jordan, years ago when I had met him.  The answer that he had given was this:

“Young lady, you need to have an affair with a man, woman or German Shepherd.  Either way, you need to get a life.”

Upon asking this question to Mr. Sanderson, he interrupted me with “That was you?!”  Apparently the story has been going around the fan world for years.

I also received a coveted “R.A.F.O.” card from him.  R.A.F.O. stands for “Read and Find Out” which was an extremely common answer for any question that might be exposed in the future books.

It was a good day.

Where and how do we draw that clear line?  Where what is said and what matters?

Hello all. Just updating ma new signature for ma bloggin’ purpose.

Over my six months of being on SL, I have accumulated quite the collection of clothing.  I thought it would have been harder to pick something to highlight but I came across something at a fashion show a couple weeks ago and I just had to show it to everyone.

They are called Bondage Pants by REBEL.  I know the word bondage might give a certain idea but that isn’t the case at all.  They are called Bondage Pants because of the straps that attach to them, which happen to be my favorite part of the pants.  It isn’t something you see everyday and it creates a rather cool look.  They come in red (as pictured), yellow/black striped, beige/black striped, pink/black striped, white/black striped and red/black striped.  And good news girls … they have them for you as well.

‘04 Topps Retired Signature Edition was a real hit or miss product.  Boxes only contained 5 packs with an uncirculated autograph within each pack.  I only opened one pack and pulled a Rollie Fingers auto while I was eating lunch at Burger King.  Some of the bigger autographs you could pull include Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Ernie Banks.  If you were really lucky you could pull one of the dual autographs limited to only 25 copies.  If your looking for a quick thrill without the worry of pulling some no name rookie, ‘04 Topps Retired SE might be right for you.  Boxes can still be found for between $150.00 – $200.00.  I’ve always liked the way the black refractors look.

The first two signatures were sewed today. Each signature contains six sheets (12 pages). In the beginning the procedure took longer than we expected due to many of the procedures were used first time on the large book. Even a simple folding required three person’s simultaneous work and every endeavor to make a straight fold.
