Comencem de nou i espero que aquest sigui el definitiu. He obert alguns blogs sense gaire futur. Els obro i els tanco, i quan els tanco, es quan m’adono que “ho necessito”, per expressar-me, per compartir, etc… Així que espero que aquest sigui l’últim i definitiu.

En aquest blog he ajuntat dos de les meves passions, el rock i els animals.

El rock l’he portat tota la vida a la sang. El meu pare de ben petit m’ha “ficat” en aquest món, m’ha ensenyat a gaudir del so d’una guitarra elèctrica. No tinc paraules per definir la meva relació amb el rock. El necessito.

Els animals es un tema diferent. Mai he tingut animals a casa. Sempre els havia vist de lluny, fins que un dia, quan em vaig independitzar amb la meva parella, vaig trobar-me amb la Nika. Una westy adorable que m’ha canviat la vida totalment. Per ella, he desenvolupat un amor cap als animals desmesurat. Per ella lluito per la igualtat animal. Gràcies a ella, he après a mirar més enllà i a dia d’avui, orgullosa de ser vegana, lluitem juntes pels seus drets i pels de milions d’animals que ho necessiten.

Així que, espero compartir amb vosaltres tot allò que em fa aixecar-me cada dia per intentar que aquest món sigui menys cruel i un món més agradable per tots.

I had fun with our Christmas Party last Friday (Dec. 18, 2009). It started at around 6:00 p. m. and the theme was Masquerade Ball.

The program was great and had lots of presentations, awards, foods and raffles. I won a rice cooker. It was pretty cool.

After the party, we went to Cowboy Grill at Las Piñas with friends. We went home at around 3:00 am.

A couple of weeks ago Lunki started Lunki’s Voddler Holiday Raffle Extravaganza, a contest where if you posted a Holiday greeting on Lunki and Sika’s Facebook Fan Page had a chance to win one of the three Voddler invites he had gotten his hands on. The popular contest is now over and Lunki’s popularity has really risen among our fans.

I’m not saying that jealousy has something to do with it, but tomorrow I’m starting my own Voddler competition, raffling away four, yes FOUR (one more than Lunki) in what I like to call Santa Sika’s Awesome and Extraordinary Voddler Competition!

Hi Calo in the sannomiya SIM is well known for its lovely sweets-shaped furniture. I’m pleased to let you know that the shop has just put the furniture named “Christmas Cake” on sale!

“Christmas Cake” coated with a lot of cream will no doubt make your mouth water. It looks very cute, but at the same time it is practical. Up to five people can sit on it and you can enjoy it with your friends adopting five different kinds of poses. The red check cloth under the cake is included in the furniture as well.
Just looking at it, you`ll almost be able to smell the sweet scents drifting from it. No matter how yummy it may look, please don’t eat it mistakenly!

I’m not saying I want this game because I’m nervous talking to girls or because of the rumors that I’m scared of them. It just sounds like a fun game. And with the tagline; Are you nervous talking to girls? All you need is practice. Who can resist?

Now all I have to do is get my hands on one dollar, an Xbox 360 and 2010 will be my year…

On the 20^th Anniversary of Harvest, Neil Young’s biggest album success to date, he toured with songs that ultimately would end up being Harvest Moon, the sequel to Harvest. The year was 1992 and during the tour he also performed a couple of acoustic solo concerts.

Seventeen years later these acoustic tracks are released on the album Dreamin’ Man -92, both on CD in December and on an upcoming vinyl version in January 2010.

And if you love Harvest Moon, you will find it hard to resist the greatness of the stripped down version that is Dreamin’ Man Live -92. I’m not loving the title, why not simply call it what it is: Harvest Moon – Unplugged.

It’s beautiful, inviting and intimate. The ten great songs from Harvest Moon played only on piano, guitar and harmonica. That’s all that’s needed. With enormous presence Neil Young creates a magic moment for me. I’m spellbound.

I often categorize artists and albums according to what situations they are suited for. Some are perfect companions when doing the dishes, others are better to listen to when cleaning, some fit perfectly in the car stereo, some during a party. But for some artists you need to just sit down and do nothing, except listen. And enjoy yourself. Neil Young and Dreamin’ Man -92 (still not loving the title) belongs in that category.

It’s THAT good.

Seems we can’t leave Johnny the Intern alone at the office for a second. He is like a little puppy. You know a puppy that sleeps all day and gets worried the second you head for the door. I don’t know if there also are puppies that makes crappy coffee, loves Jesus, Iron Maiden  and Liverpool Football Club., but if there are, he’s that kind of puppy. Anyway, from now on, we won’t leave the office before telling him where we’re off to.

I’m currently stuck here at the office reviewing the remastered 20th Anniversary Edition of Nirvana’s Bleach. And I’m loving every minute of it. Check back later for the full review.

Johnny the Intern has been left all alone at the office and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Hi, Johnny the Intern here. I am all alone at the office. Sika and Lunki is missing again. Last time they were missing I called the police. It turned out they were only away for a few days and hadn’t told me where they were going.

So naturally this time I called the police again and luckily the same police officer came by. But strangely he got mad at me and yelled some really hurtful things about me dragging him out here for no reason once again.

I think we all know where that officer is going to end up. Yes, that’s right. Hell.

Now I am all alone again, hoping that Sika and Lunki will turn up soon. We have a new episode to produce!

Italian singer Laura Pausini has released her thirteenth album, Laura Live World Tour 09. This Live album release contains a CD and a DVD and exists in three editions, a Spanish, an Italian, and an upcoming American (January 2010). After a quick overview of the three it’s the Italian one that comes out on top. It has more tracks than the Spanish one and more material on the DVD than the American. It seems to be the deluxe edition of the three.

The album contains 18 tracks, all recorded from different concerts around the world, starting in Helsinki, Finland and ending in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

From the very first track to the last I’m enjoying myself, and the seventy-two minute album goes by awfully fast. During my second listen I’m reminded of how magical music can be. I can enjoy, be touched and moved by Laura Pausini even though I haven’t got a clue what she’s singing about. I know one word in Italian, and luckily she throws in an amore now and again, which lets me know she’s singing about love. And that word is enough for me to be totally into the experience, because she is a great singer with a wonderful presence, and even if I’m not watching her live, I get the feeling she really knows how to put on a show.

The audience is clearly amazed by her too. However, in a few of the tracks the loudness of them are a bit much and I just hate “audience sing-a-long” on a live album. Although I can’t help to feel humbled from the experience, since it’s obvious that whatever country she performs, the fans of Laura Pausini knows the lyrics to all of Laura Pausini’s songs and are ready to show her that. And since my Italian knowledge consists of one word I think that’s pretty cool.

Forza Laura Pausini! Well, would you look at that? I knew another one.

I have been using the Beta version all day and the first verdict is in. Google Chrome is fast and gorgeous and makes my previous favorite web browser obsolete. I love it.

And I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think I look even cuter in Google Chrome.

There is perhaps no family so intimately connected with wrestling as the Anoa’i. Their family tree reads like a who’s who of pro wrestling and it is with sadness and sympathy that the thoughts of the wrestling world are turned to them, after the tragic passing of Eki “Eddie” Fatu, known to millions of wrestling fans as Umaga, on Friday. Aged just 36, Fatu appears to have suffered a heart attack at home, followed by a second in hospital.

 If anyone can be said to have been destined for a career in wrestling, it would have been Eddie Fatu. His uncles, Afa and Sika Anoa’i, attained great success as the tag team The Wild Samoans in the 70s and 80s. They considered High Chief Peter Maivia to be their uncle, thus connecting them to Rocky Johnson and his son, The Rock. Eddie’s older brothers, Sam and Solofa Jr found fame as The Tonga Kid and Rikishi respectively, while his cousin Rodney became a WWE Champion in the mid-nineties as Yokozuna. His cousins Reno and Matt are also successful professional wrestlers, not to mention the fact that WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka is also related to the family by marriage.

 Eddie first came to national prominence in 2002 as one half of the tag team Three Minute Warning, under the name Jamal. His cousin Matt, wrestling under the name Rosey, was his tag partner and the pair initially acted as enforcers for then Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff. When verbally berating someone, Bischoff would frequently work the words “three minutes” into his speech, at which point he would interrupt himself, saying “did I just hear myself say three minutes”, at which point Rosey and Jamal would emerge to give the hapless individual a severe beating. Frequently, this beating would conclude with Jamal delivering a splash from the top rope which, given his 350lb frame, was a highly impressive move visually.

 After just under a year, Eddie was released from his contract. At the time, rumours circulated on websites such as Slash Wrestling had it that the team were frequently working very “stiff”, which is to say that they were not protecting their opponents well enough. According to the same rumours, Eddie’s attitude and commitment to the business were not all they should have been. Regardless of the truth of these rumours, Eddie stayed in wrestling and soon turned up in TNA, teaming with fellow Samoan Sonny Siaki. However, this team did not last long before Eddie had moved on again, this time to All Japan Pro Wrestling.

 Eddie spent over a year in Japan, mostly wrestling in tag teams and began to gain a reputation as a good “big man”. By the end of 2005, WWE had re-signed him and, in April 2006, he returned to Raw, now repackaged as Umaga and accompanied by a manager, Armando Alejandro Estrada. Many fans and observers initially took shots at the WWE, seeing this new gimmick as a shot at/rip off of TNA’s Samoa Joe. In point of fact, Umaga was a gimmick that harked back to the earlier days of WWE and was far more old-school than the image Samoa Joe presented. Moreover, sneering comments about the new gimmick quickly vanished as it became apparent that Umaga was getting over and getting over fast with the vast majority of fans. WWE presented Umaga as an unstoppable, almost uncontrollable savage and fans, myself included, ate it up. The initial criticisms soon gave way to praise, with many internet wrestling writers commenting on how much Eddie’s stint in Japan had improved him as a wrestler.

 Umaga worked a series of feuds with Ric Flair, D-Generation X and Kane, before taking on the ultimate opponent, John Cena, the WWE Champion. At New Year’s Revolution 2007, Cena handed Umaga his first pinfall loss. Nevertheless, Umaga had looked strong in defeat. He had dominated most of the match, only for Cena to surprise him with a roll-up pin. The match was not terribly well received but a re-match was inevitable. When it was signed for The Royal Rumble, it was announced that the match would be a Last Man Standing match. Umaga’s manager, Estrada, taunted Cena, saying that there was no way Cena could get Umaga to stay down for a count of ten. This match was truly outstanding and will surely be remembered as the high point of Eddie Fatu’s career. Cena won when he choked Umaga out with a loosened ring rope but the real story of the match was that the reputations of both men had been greatly enhanced.

 From there, however, it seemed to me that Umaga’s career began to lose focus. For whatever reason, just as he seemed poised to take the next step to the top tier of the business, it didn’t quite happen. His role at Wrestlemania remained a high-profile one as he acted as Vince McMahon’s champion in the McMahon/Trump feud. The association with the McMahons did not work for me, as it led to Umaga’s separation from Estrada. The two had worked extremely well together and, I think, should have stayed together.

 Even so, Umaga stayed with the WWE until June of this year and, while he may not have quite been at the top of the card, he was always involved in high profile spots and there is nothing to say that he might not have gone still further. His final feud in the WWE was on Smackdown with CM Punk. However, on the 8th of June, Fatu was released from the company, reportedly after refusing to go into rehab. Since then, Eddie Fatu wrestled on Hulk Hogan’s recent tour of Australia, working with the former Mr Kennedy, Ken Anderson. The tour only finished on November the 28th. No one could have imagined that, less than a week later, Eddie Fatu would have passed away.

 In mourning Eddie Fatu, we as wrestling fans mourn the loss of an athletic and highly skilled big wrestler who achieved considerable success and had the ability to achieve even more, had he been spared. Nevertheless, we must not forget that the real loss lies not with us, the wrestling fans, but with his family and loved ones, most of all, his wife and children. All we can really do for them is make sure they know that he did make a difference. We will miss him.

 Sadly, I must also address something else while on a subject that is, frankly, painful enough already. Hardly had the news of Fatu’s passing been announced before certain people were commenting, in the most heartless terms imaginable, on Fatu’s Wellness Policy violations. Not only is this utterly insensitive – do these people not imagine that his children might go online to see what people thought of their father? – it is rampant speculation. We do not know, what, if any, role in his death Fatu’s earlier Wellness issues played so any such speculation is premature. Moreover, what does it matter? The death of a 36 year-old man is a tragedy, regardless of what role his own actions played in it. I won’t name any names, because I don’t wish to give any of these heartless creatures publicity, but some of the things I have read make me ashamed to think that anyone might think I have something in common with these people, since we are all wrestling fans.

“No pity, no sorrow” wrote one particularly foul individual who should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. Have these people never done anything to jeopardise their own health? Got roaring drunk one night, for example. Would they want their own death to be greeted in so insensitive a manner? I understand that people wish to prevent similar tragedies by pointing out the mistakes made by the dead so that the living will not repeat them but, if there are any lessons to be drawn from this affair, they can surely be drawn in more kindly and sympathetic manner. Anway, enough of that. The bottom line is this: Eddie Fatu has died. As a fan, I will miss him. As a human being, my condolences go to his family.

Sika made himself one last week, and now the rest of us here at the office have made ourselves a South Park character. Personally, I think mine looks most alike. Cool and dangerous, yet sophisticated and with a hint of raw sex appeal. Just like real life.

I have some good news and some bad news. There has been an incident here at the office. Johnny the Intern has broken the coffee maker. He was so happy to see us back at the office that he ran to the kitchen to make one of his self acclaimed “special brews”. The coffee maker couldn’t handle it and pretty much imploded.

So the bad news is; we need a new coffee maker and we don’t have any money. The good news is; we don’t have to drink Johnny the Intern’s coffee for a while.

I have heard people say that you aren’t famous until you start receiving hate. And since we have been showered with love from visitors here on the blog, gotten great reviews, and attention from FOX and Philips, I have been a little bit worried about our fame.

But now, since the YouTube-member DrawFight posted a comment about his wishes that we stop doing our videos I can finally be calm. Because we are now important and famous enough for some guy to take time out of his busy schedule to bring some hate to Lunki and me.

Thank you DrawFight, thanks for the hate. We love you.

It’s the time of year to come up with what you’re really thankful for. And it doesn’t matter if it’s stalkers, weight loss, cars from the nineties or friendship. In Lunki and Sika’s Universe, it’s all good.

Lunki just shot down one of my many great ideas again. I suggested, since it’s Thanksgiving weekend in America and since we hopefully will live there when we get our TV-show, that it would be nice to celebrate it ourselves to get a head start on American traditions.

I think Lunki liked the idea of getting the head start, but since the idea came from me, he muttered something about us being Swedes living in Sweden and that we should leave the American traditions alone.
