Paradise on earth is the only way to describe this cluster of some one hundred and fifth teen Tropical Islands scattered in the Indian Ocean just four degrees south of the Equator. Uninhabited until recent times, the islands of the Seychelles are stunningly beautiful, and environmentally unspoiled.

Silhouette is one of the Seychelles Islands. It can be reached by a forty five minute speedboat ride or a spectacular fifteen minute helicopter flight from Mahe. There are no roads on Silhouette only two connecting the north and south parts of the island. These lead over the seven hundred and eight metre high mountain and along the unspoiled coast line paradise.

A resort that full fills great expectations. Pure, unspoiled nature. An island of unfathomed beauty. The essence of the Seychelles. Silhouette is an experience for guests with an urge for the spectacular.

Mount Dauban towers overhead, its peak hidden in mist, slopes covered in forest.
White sand beaches separate rainforest from sea. The highest summit is Mount Dauban, which is surrounded by a virgin rain forest full of botanical treasures such as the rare pitcher plant, orchids, rare hardwoods and incense tree.

The island Giant Tortoise sanctuary is home to some individuals that are over one hundred and twenty years old. The Nature Protection Trust of Seychelles has been engaged as consulting organization efforts to preserve and promote the prosperity of Silhouette Island biodiversity.

Silhouette Nature a marine national park. Silhouette is home to a huge diversity of indigenous fauna and flora. Rare species on the island include the incense tree and sheaf tailed bat.

Spend your days snorkelling, diving or fishing in the clear waters surrounding the island, play tennis or work out in the fitness centre, explore the rainforest or visit the islands Giant Tortoise Sanctuary.

Alternatively indulge in a treatment at the Spa or simply relax around the pool. A restaurant located on an island in the lagoon, and a Creole restaurant in the restored plantation house.

The climate is a perfect 24 to 30 from May to September, the warmest season is October to April when light North Westerly winds allow temperatures to rise to 32.

Sea temperatures are around the 25 to 29. The majority of rainfall is normally in December or January and is heavier on the inner islands with large mountains than on the flatter low lying coral islands, although light showers are possible all year round.

The main tourist islands known as the Inner Islands are based on a shallow granitic plateau, a relic from the pre historic super continent of Gondwanaland. The majority of the islands are mountainous with a few outlying coral islands at the edge of the plateau.

The main island of Mahe with the capital city of Victoria is home to most of the resident population followed by Praslin, and La Digue. These islands are north of the cyclone belt with a climate moderated by the trade winds and dominant mountains that promote excellent all year round diving conditions.

Hello! Took an unexpected break from the blog, and I am here to welcome you back on this Monday morning.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday break, as did I (didn’t go near a computer for almost five days!). Now, I’m ready to get back down to business as well as continue our cocktail hour.

This was taken on a walk near our home last weekend, late afternoon.

I almost did!  With so much going on over Christmas, I am sure I am going to be kicking myself over all the sales I missed, but I am so glad I remembered to hit up G Field.  And if I am understanding the sign correctly it ends tomorrow, the 28th, at midnight, so you still have some time.  The sale is mostly on red and white items, but I spotted a few other colors on sale also.

~At Halloween, G Field gave out these boots in a pumpkin color.  I loved them, so I was really happy to snap this red pair up.  And actually, even if you miss the sale, the prices at G Field are amazingly reasonable, and the quality is outstanding.  These boots are 125L on sale but the regular price is only 180L!
~The eyes are a dollarbie gift from Silhouette, and includes a pair of frosted lashes.
~The cute little cropped jacket is a new release from Sn@tch and you get about 8 colors for around 250L.  I can’t remember the exact price but it is very reasonable.
~The scarf is texture change and I picked it up at the 50% off Awesome Blossom sale, which ends today.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been busier than hell with the holidays and haven’t had a chance to hit up the Winter Sale at Creators Pavilion, much less anything else. It’s been going on for a while now but I’ve only just gotten around to it today… but I’m glad I got there before it ended. I was so impressed with the skirt that I took a tp over to the barbee main store to check out the rest of the designs. How come I’ve never been to this store before? *boggle*

Anyway, I picked up this ensemble which includes the dress, tights and scarf. It’s rare that I’ll buy an entire outfit packaged like this and even rarer that I’ll wear all of the items at the same time. No matter how nicely an oufit is designed and packaged, I always feel I can replace and/or throw on more layers to snaz it up a bit. It’s one of my obsessions and part of my charm. No, really.

Not this time, though. /me loves as is.

Last week, we traveled to California to visit family and spent a few days at Disneyland. Our hotel room looked out over Disney’s California Adventure park, right towards their little mountain shaped like a bear.

Early one morning, our hotel stay earned us a chance to get into Disneyland an hour before the general public, so we were up with the sun. Right before we headed out, I stepped out on the balcony and shot this.

In other news, I recently changed my blog theme! If you’re a regular visitor, you might have already noticed that there’s a background color now instead of just plain white. Yay for color! Also, down at the bottom I now have room for a couple of widgets. Hooray for widgets! So now, you can subscribe to my blog via email so that you’ll always know when I’ve published new content. Carissa Crimson has released new shapes and for a while I’m going to be showing you the various shapes you can buy. Every Silhouette Shortcake shape package includes a modifiable shape and a full styling card to achieve the style and personality that inspired the look shown in the vendor. The Shortcake Collection shapes also include Silhouette Eyes and Lashes perfectly fitted to the shape. Lash fittings for all Silhouette brand lashes and shapes is always complimentary. Shortcakes were designed to be smaller sized in natural heights ranging from 5′3″ to 5′7″ but can be made taller by increasing the Body Height.

Spotted during the Dizzee Rascal Air Max 90 launch at Nike Sportswear’s 1948 space was this enormous sculpture by UK artist Benedict Radcliffe. Commissioned by Nike, Radcliffe reworked his usual bicycle/vehicle designs into a full-scale Air Max wire piece, measuring at 3.5 meters long and perfectly reflecting the classic Air Max silhouette.  A good one for the AM heads out there!

Angie is my boss at work, an auntie-turned-gorgeous-cinderella for the wedding. If you have seen her at work, you’d never believe the gorgeous lady in the pictures are her. Bryan is the crazy Chinese American husband -always looking for a good time and his expressions are priceless! This was one fun wedding to shoot, and the food was pretty good too! The couple looked absolutely immaculate in their Chinese customary attire. Red is hot.
