Damit hat Matt Groening nun auch die letzte Hoffnung auf einen zweiten Simpsons-Film zerstört. Wie er im Gespräch mit Variety verriet, seien die Beteiligten mit der Serie bereits genügend ausgelastet, als dass ein zweiter Kinofilm drinliegen würde. Ausserdem sei die Produktion zeitaufwändiger als geplant.

Und dann die Hiosbotschaft: Einen zweiten Kinofilm werde es erst nach Absetzung der Serie geben. Und die liegt noch in weiter Ferne!

Natürlich in der Realität, Comicfiguren altern ja bekanntlich nicht Jedenfalls gibt es dieses Jahr den 20. Simpson-Geburtstag zu feiern, seit die Serie 1989 angelaufen ist…

Während man sich in unseren Kreisen – passend – mit der 20. Staffel rumschlägt, läuft in Übersee die 21. Staffel an. Und diese enthält wieder spannendes Material, das eine Besserung verspricht. Mit Gastauftritten von Coldplay und Gary Larson, sowie einer Folge über einen vom Comictyp erfundenen und von Homer schauspielerisch dargestellten Superhelden. *freu* Die 20. Staffel hat auch einige Folgen, die einfach grossartig sind, wie die Folge, in der man in Irland den “German Krusty” entdeckt, oder jene, aus der folgende Szene ist:

The Simpsons Movie: one of the more successful sitcom-come-movie attempts in recent history, this feature-holds itself well for the duration. This movie is to the Simpsons, what Bigger, Longer, Uncut was to South Park in that almost all of the regulars show up at some point and it’s a lot more ‘adult’ than the TV episodes, as well as more of the things that make you love the shorter episodes. Going above and beyond a standard episode, this is packed full with cultural references, movie homages and celebrity appearances. Although the environment and religion crop up throughout, neither theme is dominating. Overall this is a well-made, good-looking, comedy film that ends too soon!

Recently, our staff team visited the Simpson’s Movie website to the “create your own avatar page”. Each person had to make a version of themselves as a Simpson’s character, download the jpeg, and then submit it to the rest of us for use in a staff Christmas card. It was really fun seeing how accurately the Matt Groening-Simpson’s universe translated to actual people. Also, even in the cartoon version of ourselves, we still seem to be pretty self-conscious.

Here’s the real life-to-Simpson’s comparison. But, in the final Adobe Illustrator enhanced product, my legs were shortened, and my arms and torso were stretched to ridiculous proportions. After all, I’m about 6′3″. But,  my Simpson’s wingspan would make Manute Bol jealous. Who’s self-conscious?

I woke up this morning in a “Crime Mobb” mood to say the least. Could I be disgruntled because I’m unemployed? Away from the majority of my friends? Living a celibate life? I have no idea what the root cause of it all is. It may just be a side effect from being stuck in the house all day with a 75yr old granny with dementia and a 52yr old clone of Sister Paterson. 1000 Thank You’s to whoever invented the door.

As I sit back and listen to Miss Rap Supreme’s: Ms Cherry talk about never being caught without her tool, I can’t help but wish I had one. In reality, I highly doubt I need one because then I’d really be quoting her “It’s wheneva bitch, It’s whateva hoe!” chorus. I’m really wishing I could blaze up right now. That way whatever is bothering me, I’d just say “fuck it” and move on. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option.

What options does that leave Her Royal Flyness? Hell, I don’t know. I’m actually asking you. Misery loves company so I’d love to bitch n moan with another disgruntled individual. (Random thought: We call Missouri, Mizery, meaning I live in a state of Mizery, does that give me the right to feel this way??)
