Singer Lyfe Jennings was arrested on Sunday.According to sources,Lyfe went on a violent escapade after the mother of his two sons,Joy Pound.VIA MDJONLINE:
Atlanta-based R&B singer/songwriter Lyfe Jennings, whose real name is Chester Jennings, was arrested in Smyrna on Sunday on an array of charges after he went looking for the mother of his children, Joy Pound, police said.According to his warrant, Jennings, a 30-year-old Marietta resident, kicked in the door at a house on Springwoods Drive in Smyrna, belonging to Jeff Kendrick, then fired rounds from a .40 caliber Glock in the street.

Police located Jennings driving his 2005 Corvette. According to the warrant, he initially refused to stop for officers when given audible and visual signals to do so. The warrant says he drove in excess of 70 miles per hour on Concord Road, which has a posted speed limit of 40 mph.

Once stopped, Jennings also refused an alcohol and blood test, according to the warrant. He was booked into Cobb County Jail and charged with DUI test refusal, criminal trespassing and discharging a weapon near a street, all misdemeanors, as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, both felonies. He posted a $50,000 bond Monday.

Jennings was convicted of murder in Ohio in 1992 and subsequently served 10 years in prison, according to the warrant.

In 2004, he released the album “Lyfe 268-192,” with the numbers representing his prison number. He gained notoriety with his single “Must Be Nice” from that album. According to his Web site, the album was hailed as “gritty and raw” and won critical acclaim, eventually selling more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, he released his sophomore effort “The Phoenix,” which expanded on his life story.

Jennings, who has special conditions to his bond, was ordered to not drink alcohol or have any direct or indirect contact with Pound or Kendrick.

Lyfe and Joy Pound are the parents of two boys Phoenix 3 and Elijah 1.

Darius Rucker is mostly known as being the lead singer and guitarist for rock band Hootie and the Blowfish. But now Darius can also be known as a Country music artist! The singer has just released a second solo album titled Learn to Live, which he says was greatly influecend by his children:

“My children have had a huge effect on me,” he says. “Everything in my life is about them. It’s even crossed over into my songs.”

 One of the title tracks on Learn To Live  is titled ‘It Won’t Be Like This for Long,’ a song about watching your kids grow up,which Darius says was inspired by his 13 and 7 year-old daughters,and his 3-year-old son.It is Darius’ 7-year-old daughter,however,who is learning to play the guitar:

“I’m trying to get guitar lessons going for my 7-year-old right now. My kids have to play an instrument. But trust me, I’m not going to teach my kids how to be a band guitar player. I’m going to let someone else teach them how to be a good guitar player,’ he says, chuckling. ‘There was a time I wanted to be on the road all the time, being a rock star. I have different priorities in life. I don’t think of myself that way — not as a rock star.”

It would seem that former SWV member Leanne “Lelee” Lyons has been through it all:teenage pregnancy(she became a mother at age 15),being homeless after the end of SWV,losing her mother at an early age,among other things. Through all her trials and tribulations,however,Lelee has managed to find happiness just being a mother to her two children Margaret and Khiry.

Lelee recently wrote a touching letter to her daughter for her 20th birthday. Read below:

Hey my little girl

I can remember being pregnant with you and feeling as if i was the scum of the earth.People would look at me (knowing i was just a little girl) as I took the train to my prenatal appointments. I tried so hard to hide my pregnancy from family and friends of fear that people would judge me. Little did i know, that tummy would eventually grow(lol).Some did judge me, but I chose to give you life. Although I was only a teenager, I still decided i would do right by my child and do what parents do, take care of their kid.

The day was September 12, 1988, Uncle Devon rushed me to Harlem Hospital after my water broke at our Apt. on Grant Avenue in the Bronx. I knew something was wrong because I couldn’t stop peeing(lol). It was the longest peepee in the world. So, when we got to the hospital you wouldnt come out for nothing,which meant that i had to walk around for 12 hours in the labor room (IN PAIN) until you finally was ready.I remember the nurse saying to me “Miss Lyons, do you feel anything”? I responded,”Yes, but what can i do, Nothing! I was dealing with that pain like a grown woman(lol) and everyone was amazed.

Anyway, you were finally ready to come out and 1,2,3…..there you were. With my mother(RIP) at my side and a beautiful baby girl, my life completely changed.

Now, its Sept,12 and I cant believe u are the same precious gem that i gave birth to 20 years ago. The same kid I was trying to hide years ago, I tell the world how proud I am to be your mother. We’ve been through so much baby as mother and daughter and there were times when i just had a hard time being “mom” when grandma passed away. I have it all figured out now. I Love You with all my heart and I know you are now a woman(still looking 14), but you will still be my little girl. I pray that as you go through the next chapter of your life, you will make the right decisions and be woman enough to deal with the decisions that are wrong. Chose your battles wisely and remember that whatever you cant change yourself, move on baby. Do not depend on people, especially the people we call friends.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer and songwriter Syleena Johnson is pictured here with her son Kiwane Garris Jr,1, and her Step-son Kai,7.The working mom,who is married for the second time to Italian league basketball player Kiwane Garris, has a new album set for release on September 2nd. In a recent interview with SingersRoom,Syleena talks about her new album,her new label,and juggling her career with motherhood:

On what she has been up to lately:

Well, basically I’ve been on the road, and focusing on family. I got married, had a baby, bought a new house; just stuff like that. I’m still staying current with my recording while making my family my first priority.

On how she is adjusting to being a new mom and handling her career at the same time:

We just started with the new label; even though it’s been extremely difficult, it hasn’t been that bad. I know that in the future when I start touring, that’s when the real test is going to come. It has been challenging but rewarding at the same time. Having a baby is definitely an adjustment for someone like me. Being a recording artist you’re used to living a very selfish life where everything is about you, and what’s happening with you; it’s just you, you, you. But, when you have a husband and a baby all of that tends to change and it’s not about you anymore.

On why she chose to name new CD, ‘Chapter 4: Labor Pains:

Well it’s titled labor pains, obviously because I just had a baby, and the labor pains that I experienced was some of the worst pains that I’ve ever felt in my life. It was forty hours worth of them, but it was the most beautiful reward because look what came of it, my son is like everything to me. When we work, we just think about ourselves in this world, you know, work pains, labor pains, all of the stuff that we go through to try and get where we’re trying to go. Whatever you’re trying to do to reach your goal, it’s a lot of pain involved in that, a lot of work, and that’s basically where I’m at in my life. With Chapter 4, we’re praying that just like with my son, this will be one of the most beautiful albums that I’ve ever done.

Kiwane Garris Jr,1, is the first child for Syleena and her husband Kiwane Garris; Kai, is Kiwane Garris’ first son from a previous relationship.

According to the father of her five kids,singer Lauryn Hill is staging a musical comeback. Lauryn Hill, who resides in the Suburbs of New Jersey with her parents, has five children in all:11 year old Zion, 9 year old Selah, 6 year old Joshua, 5 year old John,and a 7-month-old baby girl who is yet unnamed. Rohan Marley,the father of all of Lauryn’s kids, says that he and Lauryn are still thinking about naming their 7-month-old baby: “We want a name that means Glory of the Ark; for now we call her baby Marley.” Rohan says this about his other children:Selah is a gymnast, Joshua does karate, John loves school, and Zion plays guitar and bass. Although the two do not live together(Rohan says he is “spiritually married” to Lauryn), the son of the late legendary Bob Marley says that he still trusts Lauryn to instill teachings of righteousness into their kids:“[Lauryn] loves suburban life, being with her children, seeing them grow and instilling our teachings of righteousness into them.”

Rohan,who spoke to People magazine for their August 18th issue(Lauryn Hill declined the interview), says that Lauryn is not troubled or crazy despite the fact that her former band mates, Wyclef and Pras, say that she is. She does “what regular people do: She cooks, she shops, goes to restaurants, regular things…She became more in tune with the earth, but down and depressed? “No.”

She has a beautiful voice and she plays guitar.”

India who goes by the industry name of IndyB shares her music with fans on her Myspace page. India’s mom, who was killed in a car crash 15 months after India was born, would be proud of her talented daughter.

Since giving birth to her baby Angel Mai just a little over four months ago,British singer Javine Hylton,26, has already lost 49lbs(3.5 stone). Although she has gone from 196 lbs(14 stone) to 147lbs(10.5 stone),still Javine will like to get down to her pre-pregnancy weight of 140lbs. 

This time when she posed naked for Closer magazine a second time,Javine said: ”I feel much more confident posing naked this time. I feel proud of myself, even though I’m not in as good a shape as I’d like. My body has changed and my boobs are a bit bigger – although they’ve headed south!”.
