Montezuma mining has today released results from a drill program targeting DSO grade iron at Mount Padbury. The drill program was conducted by Sinosteel who purchased the rights to the iron ore from Montezuma for a capped payment and royalty agreement (see this link for details http://www.asx.com.au/asx/statistics/displayAnnouncement.do?display=pdf&idsId=01020615)

The 76 hole RC program for 6958m has defined high grade iron mineralisation over approximatly 1000m.

In my opinion the Jabiru target area was most likely chosen as much for its easy access as for its prospectivity. There are likely to be better targets that are harder to access. The Jabiru target does appear to be in a magnetic low. The cutoff grade used was 50% leaving plenty scope for a large scale mid-grade resource. The results leave no doubt that there is major potential for the Robinson Ranges to host both DSO and BFO mineralisation types. The 50% cutoff indicates Sinosteels intention to delineate a DSO resource and I believe these results will be viewed as highly encouraging and will lead to much more aggressive exploration over the range. In the mean time, Sinosteel are working on a JORC resource due for release in early 2010.

In regards to the upcoming JORC I think these results indicate a deposit size up to 4MT @ 57% Fe which is quite conservative IMO as it leaves very little room for any infill estimations. A typical “back of the evelope” estimation for these results would likely be approx 10Mt DSO and 80Mt BFO. I have guestimated these figures from the results listed in the table as per the announcement made by MZM. The announcement stated 76 holes were drilled but the table lists only 49. One hole missing from the table is listed as a highlight at the start of the announcement. Either way my calculations are based losely on the 49 holes only. (Keep in mind I am in no way qualified to make these types of estimations)

These results are as close as 2.5km along strike to the Padbury Mining JV borders in which there is a similar sized target area to that just drilled by Sinosteel. You can refer to these maps I have put together.

En consecuencia, aquellos que trabajan en el ámbito de los organismos eclesiales que realizan iniciativas y obras de caridad, deben hacer propio el objetivo de “dar a conocer y experimentar el rostro misericordioso del Padre Celestial, pues en el corazón de Dios Amor está la verdadera respuesta a las esperanzas más íntimas de todo corazón humano”.
Finalmente Benedicto XVI exhortó a los cristianos a “mantener fijos losplenamente hombre, ”, pues “sólo en Él, plenamente Dios y plenamente hombre, podemos contemplar al Padre y experimentar la infinita misericordia”, y concluyó afirmando que “es importante que la Iglesia, inserta en los sucesos de la historia y de la vida de los hombres, sea canal de la bondad y del amor de Dios”.

The focus continues to intensify on the Peak Hill goldfields with particular attention now being paid to the Narracoota formation. Sandfire Resources has taken center stage with it’s Conductor 1 and DeGrussa high grade copper/gold discoveries within the Narracoota Volcanic sequence. The significance of these finds poses the question “Is Peak Hill an emerging VMS field?” While it may be too early to make that call it hasn’t stopped practically every ASX listed explorer from promoting even the smallest of Narracoota acreage, with many of them experiencing a significant lift in share price.

Historically the Peak Hill district has produced copper from Horseshoe Lights, north of the Peak Hill mine, and Dimble, to the west. Both were hosted within the Narracoota formation. Gold was also mined from Dimble as well as from the Nathan’s , Fortnum and surrounding mines which are also hosted within the Narracoota formation along with the Harmony mine, and others. There are many more discoveries and targets within the southern portion of the Narracoota formation. The recent discoveries by Sandfire may well be some of the most significant for this region causing both new and re-invigorated interest.

Padbury Mining (and Aurium through the JV) may once again gain attention due to their strong tenement position over the Narracoota Volcanics and a number of faults. Their eastern tenements in the Mount Padbury area contain up to 80km strike length over the Narracoota formation with multiple interpreted faults along the entire strike zone. While much of the area has been the subject of historical exploration, approximately 30km of strike on the southern most tenement remains virtually unexplored. Modern exploration techniques and new modelling theories may also reveal new targets over previously explored ground.

Below is a map showing the tenements in the Padbury Mining JV and the regional geology in the area. I have also showed the areas where gold is the target commodity which highlights the significance of the Narracoota formation. A complete map of all tenement holders is very complex, however I believe that the Padbury Mining JV tenements are likely to cover the longest strike length and greatest number of faults within the Narracoota formation of any of the explorers in the region. It would be nice to see the Padbury Mining JV acknowledge this in light of recent developments and confirm my thoughts of the prospective nature of their tenement holding.

Gilani, Hu Jintao discuss security, energy, trade

BEIJING: Pakistan and China agreed to intensify efforts for regional peace and security on Tuesday with Beijing assuring Islamabad of its support in formulating a comprehensive strategy to counter terrorism.

This was resolved in a meeting between Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chinese President Hu Jintao at the Great Peoples Hall. “China has asked Pakistan to evolve a comprehensive and long-term sustainable strategy to deal with the security-related issues and China would provide overwhelming assistance in this endeavour,” Gilani told reporters after the meeting.

According to political observers in China, Beijing’s offer was of immense significance when viewed in the backdrop of Pakistan’s predicament in the Kerry-Lugar Bill, increased US presence in the region, the growing nexus between the US and India and the expanding influence of India in the region’s security matters.

Earlier, on his arrival, the prime minister was given a red-carpet reception at the Great Hall and President Jintao, in an unusual gesture, received him outside the auditorium entrance. The prime minister, who looked satisfied after the 45-minute-long interaction, said: “We have found complete conformity of views on all subjects which came under discussion in the meeting.”

Gilani said he had discussions with the Chinese president on a wide range of issues, including the security situation in the region, defence, defence production, energy, trade and increased Chinese investment in Pakistan. The meeting would greatly help to further strengthen the time-tested friendship between both the countries, he added.

During the meeting, Gilani apprised the Chinese president of the recent operation carried out against militants in Pakistan. The Chinese president lauded the role Pakistan was playing in countering terrorists and said greater cooperation was required to fight militancy.

Both leaders agreed to strengthen collaboration in defence and counter-terrorism, and to work on a comprehensive strategy on security-related issues. The two leaders also expressed their firm resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties in the energy sector in particular.

The prime minister felicitated the Chinese president on the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Chinese republic. He paid rich tribute to the Chinese leadership and eulogised the tremendous development China has made in various fields.

The prime minister was accompanied by Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri (JUI), Chaudhary Barjees Tahir (PML-N), Muhammad Tariq Tarrar (PPP), Muzaffar-ul-Malik (ANP), Sardar Bahadur Ahmad Khan Sehar (PML-Q), Sheikh Salahuddin (MQM), Sajid Hussain Turi (Fata), Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, Additional Foreign Secretary Masood Khalid, Federal Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmad Gondal and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khan.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan Thursday said Pak-Sino relations are based on strong bonds of friendship and through exchange of delegations could further cemented these bilateral ties.

He was addressing a seminar organized by Institute of Strategic Studies in collaboration with the Chinese embassy on “New China’s Foreign Policy and Sino-Pak Relations.”

The seminar was a special one in terms of its timing as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said leaders of the two countries have very close interaction that has been helping to further strengthening the relations at people to people level.

In his opening remarks Ambassador (Retd) Tanvir Ahmed Khan, Chairman/Director General ISS welcomed the guests and specially the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Luo Zhaohui, for taking out time in his very busy schedule and remarked that this shows the love and respect of Chinese government and people for Pakistan.

Ambassador (r) Tanvir said that October 1, 1949, changed the history of world when China came into being and the pace with which it developed itself and the tremendous development it brought to the world.

He said the relationship Pakistan enjoys with China is unparalleled and unprecedented in today’s world.

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Lou Zhaohui thanked the Institute of Strategic Studies for holding the seminar to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China.

Ambassador Lou said China and Pakistan are close neighbours, dear friends, trusted partners and good brothers. He stressed that the friendship and contacts between the peoples of the two countries have a time honoured history.

He further elaborated the Sino-Pak relationship by saying that it is mainly based on four important pillars; the first is political trust and understanding, a total consensus between the two leadership and government to further the all weather friendship.

He said the second is national defence cooperation for self defence and regional peace and stability as well. The third is economic cooperation, and there is a lot of potential to explore in trade, investment, and business cooperation. He said the fourth is the people to people contacts.

The Sino-Pak friendship is deeply rooted in the heart of the two peoples, however both the government need to establish more platforms and give more facilities for more understanding and communication between China and Pakistan. Akram Zaki former Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his presentation remarked that China and Pakistan are different in many ways.

“We have different social systems, different ideologies, and different religions. Our relationship, however, has stood the test of time,” he said.

He said no matter what happened in domestic affairs in two countries or in international affairs, China and Pakistan have retained mutual trust, mutual support and mutual cooperation.

He said: “We respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We never interfere into each other’s internal affairs. We always consult each other about major issues on equal basis, and we conduct cooperation to mutual benefit.”

Akram Zaki said there is no clash of interests between China and Pakistan. The Sino-Pak relationship has become an example of state-to-state relations in the modern world.

Ambassador (Retd) Khalid Mehmood while giving his point of view on the seminar said that the scintillating history of Pak-China relations leaves no doubt that this relationship will not only endure but has the potential of getting stronger and deeper, provided that while keeping the strong links in the political, defence and strategic fields.

The China Culture Show was held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The show was organized by Pakistan Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy to celebrate China’s 60th anniversary. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani was also a present during the inaugural ceremony.

The strategic cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing is rising in a muti-faceted manner. The announced initiatives are in energy, dams, railsroads, roads, education, culture, and almost every other field possible. China continues to see value in continuing to build a mutually beneficial and long term relationship with Pakistan.

The Trade between China and Pakistan consolidates a friendship as old as the Himalayas President Asif Ali Zardari has said that during the last one year Pakistan and China have identified more than 50 new initiatives for joint collaboration and signed more than three dozen MoUs. He said this during an interview with a Chinese newspaper held at the Presidency.

He said the world admires the all round development China has achieved. Being a longstanding friend, Pakistan is naturally keen to learn from the Chinese experience. However, the extent and depth of political and diplomatic relations have not been fully reflected in our economic ties, said the president.

The president there was a lot to learn from the Chinese model of economic development particularly the model adopted in its provinces of Zhejiang and Guangdong. The progress made by China in agriculture particularly in hybrid seed technology and optimal utilization of water is something that can be emulated in other countries as well, said Zardari.

While responding to a question about his visits to China, the president said that during all his visits he focused on familiarizing himself with the Chinese experience of growth and development.

‘I think there is a great deal Pakistan can learn from the Chinese experience and its development model,’ he said. ‘The goodwill must act as a precursor for adding greater commercial and cultural content to the economic and public diplomacy between the two countries,’ the president added.

The foundations of a strong friendship with China were laid by the visionary policies of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and he played a pioneering role in building this strategic cooperative relationship, said Zardari.

‘The real challenge is how to actualize the great potential of economic cooperation between the two countries. The trajectory of future relationship is clear. The two countries will continue to cooperate for promotion of global and regional peace, advancement in the science and technology, improvement in the living standards of our respective people and fight against environmental degradation. This relationship will grow stronger and stronger with each passing year. We have resolved to take this partnership to greater heights,’ the president observed.

When asked about Pakistan’s stance over the situation in Xinjiang province, the president said the Government of Pakistan fully supports the Chinese Government’s efforts to maintain social stability, peace and ethnic harmony in Xinjiang and indeed throughout China. ‘We fully support the Chinese Government’s efforts to promote the development of Xinjiang Autonomous Region as part of China’s Western Development Strategy.’

Pakistan fully supports China’s policy of social harmony and development which is producing great results for all Chinese people.

We also believe that with the unprecedented economic development in China all ethnic groups would stand to gain, he added.

Let us look at a few examples of Pakistani-Chinese cooperation–The Heavy Mechanical Complex, the The Advanced Electronic Complex, the Kamra Aeronautical Complex, the Karakoram Highway, Gwader Sea Port, 50 new dams, The Chinese University in Pakistan, the six Chinese industrial estates in Pakistan,  the new Shipyards at Gwader, Port Qasim, Karachi, Chasnupp 1,Chasnupp 2, Chasnupp 3, Chasnupp 4, Chasnupp 5 and Chasnupp 6.

I have decided to post an image showing how the drill program proposed by the company relates to the images I have been posting. I have done this to help tie all the relevant information together. It may also go some ways to confirming the accuracy of some of what I have posted.

The black lines are the BIF targets that I have used in my previous postings. Keep in mind that the blue line (Robinson Range Formation) is approximately 10km. As you can see the current drill program is spread over a very large area. The drill traverses are perpendicular to the iron formations and will therfore give a good indication of the width and how the formation trends at depth or dips.

As can be seen from the map, the drill program has focused on only half of the iron formations under tenure by Padbury Mining. This can be considered the Peak Hill project, while the other half can be considered the Padbury project. I beleive the company is waiting for the relevant affairs to be in order before they start to drill test the Padbury project.

It appears as though there was unfortunately only a single traverse at Telecom Hill, however, it looks to be right in the Hematite zone (according to my research). Rock chips taken by the GSWA across the 10km section of the Robinson Range Formation are consistently above 40% FE and there are 4 zones showing hematite/goethiite geology with grades at or above 54%. I may update and post this map in the near future.

I can’t wait to see what information the company releases along with its drill results. Hopefully there is something I can use to spark some interesting posts.

Padbury Mining requested a trading halt on Friday 18th pending the release of the drill results from the Padbury Mining JV. I have done a lot of comparisons of the potential size and scale of the Padbury Mining project to a number of other projects with a wider audience in the market place. I have posted a number of them here on this blog. One such comparison I had forgotten about was with the Mbalam Project in Cameroon owned by Sundance Resources. Since I have had requests to make this comparison I will post what I have previously done.

The exploration on the Mbalam project to date has targeted 3 deposits on one lease, EP92 (see attached). These are Mbarga (the largest), Mbarga South and Metzimevin. The resource defined so far is 2.5BT including 215MT @60% and is considered to be a world scale project and is the largest resource not controlled by a major company. Hopefully you can easily see the Padbury Mining JV project area superimposed on the Mbalam project area.

I am not a geologist and I can not make any reputable assumptions about the ultimate outcome of the drilling programs for the Padbury Mining JV. These 2 projects are different in many ways including the geology. I have tried to keep my comparisons local to the midwest as it is much more likely for similarities to occur.

Comment on the Padbury Mining JV drilling:

In my previous posts on Telecom Hill I have tried to give an indication of the area actually needed to host a resource. There is 10KM of strike in that area, and while rock chip sampling revealed grades up to 65% FE at Telecom Hill itself, it can not be assumed that those grades exist outside of the immediate area that the rock chips were taken from. To have those grades cover even 1KM, and be consistent at depth, will be very good news. I would expect the grades to average closer to 40% if not less for probably 90% of the strike. From what I can gather, the drill program was not targeted at resource definition and it looks to me like it has the aim of testing the prospectivity of the host banded iron formations themselves over their entire length. In this case, they seem to be largely testing the Horseshoe Formation of which the project area contains around 40KM of strike or more (in a straight line). Telecom Hill on the other hand is hosted by the Robinson Range Formation and there is approximately 10KM or more of strike conatined in the project area. If the drilling was left up me, I would have drilled more holes at Telecom Hill whilst in the area, knowing that hematite has already been identified there.

Having said all of that, we should at least have enough information from this program to define an exploration target, as well as priority areas for the next round of drilling with the aim of determining a JORC classified resource. We will see.

Humanga ako sa galing ng nagdrowing nito. Kuhang-kuha yung mga steps at may humorous twist pa ang ending. I think, the fact that a boy is dancing a girly dance is already humorous. Yes, it’s a boy and the name’s Lemo. Sabi nung gumawa, incomplete pa raw ‘tong videong ‘to.

Speaking of this video, para sa mga hindi pa nakakaalam, (but i doubt it na hindi pa ‘to kalat among the Filipino mass), yung Wonder Girls, isang girl group sa Korea ang kumanta ng Nobody. Sumikat yata ‘tong kantang ‘to dahil dun sa palabas na Boys Over Flowers. Malaking porsyento yata ng populasyong Pilipino ang na-hook sa palabas na yun. Kaya yata pati sa soundtrack e kinawilihan nila. Simula nang mauso yun, every week kapag umuuwi ako sa’min at nakasakay ako ng bus o kahit sa jeep, naririndi ang tenga ko dahil sa ilang beses na pagkakarinig sa kantang yon.

Nung i-take-over ng Wonder Girls ang Philippine airwaves o mga Tagalog na radio stations, dumagdag din sa pag-conquer yung kinabibilangan ng ating pambansang krung-krung na si Sandara, ang 2NE1. Yan tuloy, lalong narindi tenga ko. Sa jeep, sa bus, sa mga batang naglalaro sa kalsada, sa mga tindahan, sa kapitbahay, pati sa dorm hindi nawawala ang mga kantang ‘to na di ko maintindihan ang ibig sabihin.

Di ko lang talaga trip yang genre na tinatawag na K-pop o Korean pop. Pero naaaliw lang ako sa mga pinaggagagawa ng mga Koreanang ito sa kanilang mga sarili. Gaya na nga lang nung nakita kong video ng 2NE1 kung saan yung buhok ni Sandara ay parang kung ano lang na nakatayo sa tuktok ng kanyang ulo. Weird lang kasi ng fashion sense nila e. So sino kaya si Nobody?

Tingin ko, siya si Pinoy na masyadong na-hook sa kultura ng ibang bansa kaya tuloy nakalimutan niyang mas mahalin at tangkilikin yung sariling kanya. Dahil sa ginawa niyang pagkalimot at pagpapabaya, hayun… nawala yung tanging identity niya kaya si Nobody siya ngayon.

Há horas que olhava para a parede numa busca solitária e desesperada por qualquer novidade. Já faziam mais de 4 anos ali, naquela cela triangular, naquela cela de pedras negras, lisas,uniformes, que esticavam em direção ao céu, sem teto, fazendo-o refém do sol de meio dia e das chuvas torrenciais que caiam perto das enchentes. Uma pedra de quina com a outras, três, toneladas de rocha lisa e escura.
Ouve-se o sino do bode, ele corre ate a mínima abertura feita no muro de pedra, bem perto do chão, dali se vê uma praia que poucas vezes recebe visitas, o bode traz a comida numa cumbuca de barro pendurada numa corda a outra cumbuca que contem a água em volta das costas do animal, ele precisa atrair o bode, puxa-lo, e virar o conteúdo numa cumbuca menor que lhe deixaram, tomando cuidado para não virar todo o conteúdo, pois se uma das cumbucas do animal fica muito mais leve que a outra, a mais pesada puxa a mais leve e as duas vão ao chão, deixando-o sem água ou comida.
Ele demorou 3 semanas para perceber o bode com sininho no pescoço.
O chão de terra e areia esquenta rápido assim que o sol aparece, as paredes alcançam facilmente 10 metros de altura, completamente intransponíveis.
Numa manhã qualquer há muito tempo atrás, o preso ouviu crianças gritando, se jogou em direção a fenda e viu os primeiros seres humanos dentro de meses ou anos, as quatro crianças brincavam correndo uma das outras, e o preso não sabia o que fazer, viu bem ao canto, onde seus olhos quase não conseguiam mais ver, um casal e mais um homem olhando as crianças correrem, e no desespero começou a gritar freneticamente, mas ninguém demonstrava qualquer reação, nem que estivessem ouvindo-o, e foi assim por quase uma hora, tentou as varias línguas que conhecia e nada, observou as vestimentas mas estas caberiam dentro das mais variadas culturas do mundo, poderia ter entrado em estado de alucinação como já ouvira e vira pessoalmente tantas vezes durante suas viagens pelo mundo. E ficou ali, deitado abaixo da fenda, esperando ouvir alguma palavra ou frase entre as crianças para reconhecer uma língua ou um traço cultural qualquer, mas nada foi dito durante quase todo o tempo. Quando estava para pegar no sono ouviu um chamado grave, se levantou e viu o homem que acompanhava o casal chamando as crianças que não demoraram muito para se juntarem e começarem a partir, o homem esperou calmamente todas as crianças passarem por ele, o preso tentou mais alguns gritos em vão antes de observar o ultimo menino chegar ao homem, que lhe passou a mão pelo ombro encaminhando-o em direção aos outros, o preso declamou pra si uma poesia maia antiga que retratava a solidão, bem como ele acabou por conhecer ali, preso ao nada por razão alguma, mas não conseguiu terminar, não lembrava a ultima palavra da poesia e desolado viu as alucinações irem embora, viu o menino com o homem caminhar passivamente para sumir por detrás da parede negra, mas então o jovem virou-se para o preso com cautela, o olhou dentro do olho e sussurrou alguma coisa ao preso que se assustou e começou a gritar novamente, se desesperando ao ver que todos sumiam por detrás da parede, ouviu o trotar de alguns cavalos e ele percebeu que haviam partido.Caído, desolado sob o um céu cinza que previa chuvas, refletiu sobre o que o menino tentou dizer, fechou os olhos e forçou a memória para recuperar o movimento da boca, mas foi no sono que acabara de cair que obteve a resposta. Viu perfeitamente o menino repetir o que havia dito e acordou num pulo, começou a rabiscar no chão com uma concha e percebeu que o menino havia lhe falado em latim, e que havia dito somente uma palavra, e num misto de pavor e felicidade percebeu que o menino não só o ouviu durante todo o tempo, como de alguma maneira ouviu-o declamar a poesia e traduziu a parte que faltava da língua maia para o latim, uma das línguas do preso.
Ele trabalhava para o rei de uma civilização promissora que avançava a passos largos no desenvolvimento da população. Vacinas, alimentação e saúde eram umas das evoluções daquele povo, e grande parte disto tudo surgiu com a nomeação do preso para gerir a parte de avanços e tecnologias do reino, daí começaram as viagens e pesquisas ao redor do mundo, viajou nos primeiros balões orientais, que ele próprio ajudou a construir, trocou carregamentos de comida e semente para ter acessos a documentos antigos que mostravam civilizações mais antigas e mais modernas do que as atuais, visitas de outros seres pensantes e desenvolvidos que prometiam ajuda. Enfrentou a igreja, foi contra todos os deuses, provou os eclipses como causa natural, foi perseguido e o tentaram matar por dezenas de vezes, aprendeu com civilizações de outros continentes a cuidar da terra e a entender suas mensagens, ajudou na construção do calendário mais preciso do mundo, mais ao sul, revelou as tecnologias para que as construções subissem as montanhas, soube de civilizações antigas e afundadas pela fúria do mar, foi requisitado por todos os reinos, tinha uma mente brilhante e isso quase acabou com o mundo como se é hoje.
Numa de suas peregrinações por terras desoladas e secas, vagando sozinho pelas imensidões terrenas, entre cânion e desertos de sal, num acampamento montado por ele próprio, fez anotações e uma carta ao rei, reviu as amostras a serem enviadas e conferiu nas estrelas o belo dia que o dia seguinte daria, deitou, acariciado pelo vento frio da existência e pela vida que brotava por todos os cantos, adormeceu numa lembrança da infância, sonhou, sentiu o sol a despertar, ouviu vozes, não conseguia acordar, preso na própria mente, não ouviu-os, angustiado, aflito em gritos surdos dentro de si mesmo, sentiu que o carregavam e então dormiu um sono sem sonho, coagido, forçado, e não ouviu mais vozes até acordar, preso.
Para passar o tempo revia na cabeça os clássicos da literatura de sua época, cantava poemas e criava outros tão magníficos durante a febre da loucura que foi um desperdício para todo o mundo que ninguém o tivesse registrado, anotou na areia formulas matemáticas que mudariam a visão de todos sobre tudo, dali, naquela cela triangular, numa praia vazia, registrou movimentos planetários fora de sincronia, percebeu dali riscando como um vadio a areia a matéria negra que regia a espaço, calculou o espaço do espaço, observou e chorou a água subir e o vento arrastar seus números e códigos para o infinito mar imperial. Dúvidas! oh dúvidas! Me deixais aqui lavado a te querer mortal.
Centenas ou milhares de anos se passaram, bode com sino, devaneios, masturbação, ciência, matemática, masturbação, física, teorias de um sistema sem reino, baseado em um trabalho não forçado, mas que forçava a caminhar à frente, dormia, acordava, e sonhava o futuro, não possuía mais a raiva comodista dos presos, ele continha o futuro, e o futuro tinha cheiro de acordar bem cedo… logo o cedo, que não fazia sentido algum para sua atemporalidade.
Coisas aconteciam a sua volta, houve algo como festas, mas mais pareciam rituais religiosos de uma adoração ao sol, como as que ele viu quando visitava faraós. As pessoas estavam mudando e ele permanecia ali, viu enterros, batizados de um povo inteiro, desalento de nações. Não via mais o menino do poema, mas creu que aquela prisão o tornava imortal, a pior carceragem para uma mente tão intensa. Secou ao sol e teve a pele rachada por semanas numa época em que a chuva teimou em não cair, tentou por vezes cavar ate achar um fundo, mas a cela era feita de tal forma que não havia como tirar muito de um lado sem que o lado mais cheio começasse a cair sobre o vazio. Gritou até perder os sentidos, num sonho foi abraçado por uma grega nua, de seios enormes, olhos de mel, ela lhe contava historias fantásticas enquanto lhe acariciava as mãos, ele deitado de costas para ela, sobre ela, enamorados, ela então arrancava-lhe as unhas, ele não sentia dor, depois das unhas vieram os cabelos, fio por fio, dente por dente, os pêlos do corpo, um olho, a língua, ele continuava deitado ouvindo histórias sobre viagens às estrelas e uma paz infinita sobre a inteligência humana, ela abriu-lhe o umbigo e foi retirando tudo aos poucos, separava com cuidado ao lado do corpo, ele apetecia chorar, ela dizia que ele colaborara, desenhou para ele barcos iluminados que viajariam os céus, ele perguntou num pensamento sobre as guerras, ela se encabulou e o deitou na areia, mostrou-lhe seus órgãos, explicou como cada um funcionava, mas ele já os conhecia, ela lhe mostrou então as mudanças evolutivas que sofreríamos para nos adaptar ao universo, lhe explicou o universo, ele ainda perguntava da guerra, ela lhe retirou com cuidado o outro olho e assentou o preso com delicadeza pra dormir, ele ficou deitado, pensando, refletindo, imaginativo, com curiosidade, como seria a face do todo universo?
Uma maré alta o deixou boiando por 2 semanas, a água não recuava, o mar não a engolia de volta, queria matar-lo, ainda não era cheio o suficiente para que despontasse, puxou pra si uma concha e boiando dentro da cela de lousas negras e lisas, narrou sua vida e descobertas, guardou dentro daquela concha os segredos de civilizações já extintas, revelou ao mundo fases de um sol sem perdão, e um extinção indispensável a evolução, deixou registrado tudo o quanto pode, nesses anos inteiros não perdera nada dentro da imensidão de seus pensamentos, informou tudo a todos, era o seu dever, era o que a grega de seios enormes queria, mas as 2 semanas sem comer o matara aos poucos, ele foi afundando na água, com a concha na mão, quando o mar recuou, jogaram pétalas e leite sobre seu corpo, choravam lagrimas sinceras, o imortal da prisão se fora, removeram as paredes, o menino da poesia maia ainda era um menino. Que tempo era aquele? Pertencia à quem? Corria de que lado para que lado? Fugia?
Na maré alta seguinte, o mar adulou até levar o corpo abdicado daquela mente extravagante, a água amoleceu a mão e a concha se desatou, açoitou o fundo do mar, contou as outras conchas as chaves sagradas do intocado, uma passou a outra, a outra pra outra, e elas estão todas ai, todas com demasiado segredo, se jogando aos nossos pés, almejando nos expor o desabafo do imortal, numa língua extinta, de um morto esquecido.

G’day folks, new readers and old alike. Looks like we are still waiting on those much anticipated drill results from the Padbury Mining JV drill program. Also of significance is the pending results from the drilling program conducted by Sinosteel / Midwest  in the Robinson Range region which hosts the Telecom Hill project. These drill programs are the first in this region to target iron ore, the results of which will no doubt be a defining moment for the region, the project, the related companies and even certain individuals. Definately exciting, if this is the sort of thing that floats your barge.

On todays menu is another comparion of size and scale, this time between Jack Hills (MMX/Crosslands) and Telecom Hill (Padbury Mining / Aurium Resources). Please refer to the announcement made by MMX on 03/09/09 http://www.asx.com.au/asx/statistics/displayAnnouncement.do?display=pdf&idsId=00984718. In short MMX has defined 96MT DSO and 991MT BFO (34% and requires beneficiation). MMX published a target in that announcement of a further 400-1000MT to bring the total resource to approx 1.5-2.1BT including a DSO component. I have taken their map, which shows the boundary for this resource, and have presented it side by side, at the same scale, with the Telecom Hill and surrounding project area.

This time I have expanded on the Telecom Hill area slightly by adding the area that I believe the highest grades of rock chip samples came from. This should represent the most likely area to contain a DSO resource. If the 3 drill holes showing enriched BIF at 130M depth (150M angled) were from this area it would prove very encouraging if the grades were similar.

So, ponder that. I will stop short of actually giving any predictions of what size of resource the area may host as it does depend on a number of factors. Over the years a few close family members have heard my thoughts, along with one or two other people, but that is all. There are just too many limiting factors involved, from the contraints of the project geology to the decisions made by management, all of which have great potential to affect the bottom line for your run of the mill lemming shareholder. So, I will warn you now, this is not advice, just food for thought.

Atlas Iron has today applied for a small 3 tenement package with some boundaries adjoining tenements in the Padbury Mining JV. The blocks previously formed part of the Maitland Gold project 80% owned by Talisman Mining. Exploration was targeting gold anomalism associated with the Mudawerrie Banded Iron Formation (BIF). Considering the current interest in this region for iron ore, and with the new applications being made by an iron ore focused company, I tend think that the the BIF itself will now be the target of exploration. There is definately enough information to at least apply for the ground and perform initial analysis. If nothing else they have some ground in an increasingly popular area and help to keep them focused on new developments in the region. Hope you find this interesting.

This update demonstrates the comparison of scale and location of Padbury Mining’s Midwest Iron Projects against other major projects in the region. The Weld Range and Jack Hills projects have had significant exploration and development to date. They both justify having new transport infrastructure built to service them, but their relatively close proximity to each other helps to solidify the reasoning. As you can see on the map below, Padbury Mining is also in very close relative proximity to these 2 major projects.

With the infrastructre to service this new iron ore province yet to completed, there is plenty of time for the major parties to work together in the direction of a common user goal.  The common user approach from the beginning should avoid the problems seen in the Pilbara when new projects have to “muscle in” on the existing infrastructure. With the effective duopoly now present in the Pilbara (between the RIO/BHP JV and FMG) I feel there will be a significant shift towards the investment opportunities currently presenting themselves in the Midwest region. A recent example of this is the non binding MOU reached between Emergent Resources and Chinese Metallurgical Investment Co (CMI) to for the provision of $200M in funding for a 50% stake in Emergents Beyondie Magnetite Project. The Beyondie project is further afield being approx 150KM E/NE from Padbury Mining’s projects.

The images below show a regional magnetic response for the main project areas. The white areas indicate the highest magnetic responses. By my obervations, Weld Range and Jack Hills are very similar in scale in terms of the length and width, both measuring around 50km long. The significant part of the CYIP  (Central Yilgarn iron Project) is the slightly NW to SE trending area through the middle of the group and the additional parallel trend further east. These targets have significantly smaller widths than Weld Range and Jack Hills and are probably more comparable to targets in the Mount Gibson area. The Mount Padbury and Robinson Range project areas appear to be larger than both Weld Range And Jack Hills. On the overview map, the distances after the project names are “as the crow flies” to the relevant port.

These are fairly basic comparisons in reality but interesting regardless. They are by no means a substitute for proper exploration methods and say little in regards to resource definition. I personally feel these images say a great deal about the possible potential and I have used this information for my own investment decisions and I offer it here NOT as advice but as commentary of my thoughts.

With that disclaimer out of the way……you may also be interested to know that the mining leases at Jack Hills are approximately the same size as the strike that contains Padbury Mining’s “Telecom Hill” target (see earlier posts). The approximate resource at Jack Hills is 100Mt DSO and almost 1BT from 34% Fe. Look at the Crossland tenements in the middle of the Jack Hills image to see this area and compare it the other projects.

Padbury Mining has stated they have approximate 100KM of strike along banded iron formations which I think is fairly significant and quite likely to host a number of significant targets, some of which with the possibility of being mined. The main areas I have personally identified over the years are Telecom Hill (Robinson Range, assays awaiting), Mount Beasley (Horseshoe Formation, high grade rock chips) and another at Mount Padbury which is approximately 30KM WSW of Telecom Hill and is also up to 10KM in length.

As a further comparison of a project at the mining stage, take Mount Gibson’s Extension Hill Hematite pit which is only approximately 1km in length by less that 500m wide. It contains reserves of 13MT, resources of 19.5MT and will be mined at 3MT per year. That is a small section of a much larger project area….but still decent sized hole in the ground. So, even when I mention there is over 10km strike in the vicinity of Telecom Hill, which had rock chips up to 66% Fe, I am certainly not expecting the entire 10km to contain those grades. Something similar to the size of Extension Hill is much more likely, at least on the surface, and there is still the third dimension to contend with.

Well, thats about as techical as I am going to get as I am not qualified enough to make certain statements containing all that jargon that many don’t even understand anyway. These are some of my observations over time which I post in an effort to both entertain and to hopefully open up a diologue with other people as interested in this project area as I have been over the years. Feedback is certainly encouraged.

This is likely to be the last update prior to the results arriving  for the first drilling campaign to target iron ore in the Peak Hill Mineral field …..and it was conducted by none other than Padbury Mining.

Haji Bilour who was leading a railway delegation left for home on Monday evening. He pointed out that during his visit he held meeting with his Chinese counterpart Liu Zhi Jun and both sides agreed to collaborate for modernization of Pakistan Railways network.

It has also been decided to constitute a consortium in which both Pakistan and China will be partners. Haji Bilour said that China has nominated their three experts to help assist Pakistani side for carrying out technical feasibility studies for cooperation and modernization of railways projects. While, on return home, he would also nominate from Pakistani side after consultation.

On purchased of 75 locomotives, Haji Bilour said that he held talks with EXIM Bank in this regard. Out of total number of 75 engines, 25 will be purchased on CKD while remaining 50 will be assembled in railways factory Riasalpur.

Bilour regarding Havalian-Khangrab railways network, pointed out that the Chinese side has completed the feasibility study of the project.

To promote tourism, Haji Bilour said that his ministry is working on various proposals including launching of train from Islamabad to various tourists interest spots in the country He assured that after acquisition of locomotives, passenger coaches, high speed freight bogies, rehabilitation of railway tracks, the service of Pakistan Railways will certainly improve. The following image shows a simplified close up view of the telecom hill area. There is approximately 13km of Banded Iron Formation (BIF). This BIF is part of the Robinson Range and SINO Steel has tenure covering the majority of the formation. The part of this formation covered by the Padbury Mining tenure contains the highest grades sampled to date from rock chips including up to 66% from the Telecom Hill area. Sampling conducted by Midwest identified a priority target approximately 2km from the border of Padbury Minings tenure. This area is known as area “K”.

The red tenements make up the Joint Venture with Aurium Resources in which Padbury Mining (PDY) owns 70% and Aurium Resources (AGU) 30%. PDY also owns approx 20% of AGU. AGU’s own tenements are colored cyan.

The blue tenements represent those either held by Midwest Corp, a subsidiary of chinese company Sinosteel, or in which Midwest has the rights to Iron Ore.

Green tenements are those held by Cliffs Asia Pacific Iron Ore, another blue chip international company.

Padbury Mining has conducted a drill program in this area with initial results due shortly. Sinosteel have also stated that a drill program targeting high grade DSO iron was scheduled to commence in June 09. These drill programs are the first to target iron ore in the Peak Hill goldfields.

The ground occupied by PDY contains approx 100KM of strike length prospective for Iron Ore representing the most prospective of any company with tenure in this region on strike length and area basis. The area circled in black is known as Telecom Hill and represents up to 13km of strike. It is significant as it contains the highest grades of iron according to results from a sampling program conducted by PDY. A hematite deposit was defined there in 1969/70 by the GSWA after a sampling program of the Robinson Range. I consider this area important to PDY as the banded iron formation crosses into tenure held by Sinosteel which may result in a jointly owned deposit. In that case the synergies should be obvious. Midwest has identified a priority target in this area approx 2km from PDY’s tenure.
