Despite two cuts titled “Crazy Night” & “Supaman High” that would have suited better to not appear on the album, when Untitled bangs, it bangs brilliantly! R. Kelly’s ninth studio solo project, Untitled, reaffirms and again establishes that within the realm of contemporary R&B, R. Kelly is top chef and cooks up the best dishes music fans crave and implore. The second song “Exit” is a fascinating arrangement and melodious feast, likened to anything I’ve ever heard and one of the most creative songs I’ve heard in years. The next song “Echo” is orchestrated like a scene from a movie, that climaxes when the featured female star yodels to R. Kelly’s “echoes”.  The song is masterfully crafted with the right dose of humorous sexuendo and musical impressiveness. The album then moves on to signature “raunch” with the next two tracks titled fittingly, “Bangin’ the Headboard” and “Go Low”, with the latter having been leaked from the 12 Play: 4th Quarter album (canceled) last year.

Kelly continues to slick the pavement, and smooth the edges with “Whole Lotta Kisses”, then lets new comers like Trey Songz & Chris Brown know that “Elephants kill flies” on “Like I Do”.

After a session with Keri Hilson on “Number One”, “Kells” tells us he’s in love with a DJ with “I Love the DJ”, a Europop crossover tune sure to increase Kelly’s listeners. Kelly now ventures into 70’s style disco funk, with the salaciously delightful toe-tapping “Be My #2″, another lyrically playful and humorous “two-stepper” that references MJ with the line “But that don’t mean you still don’t rock my world”. Next is “Text Me”, a hip play on today’s virtual foreplay that is vintage R. Kelly. “Elsewhere” isn’t necessarily a bad song, but one I feel he overcooked and overworked (no pun intended), and may have sounded better with someone else singing it.

The last song “Pregnant” is significant not just for its appearances, but for its connection to Quincy Jones’ smash hit “The Secret Garden”, released in 1990 off of Jones’ Back on the Block album, and features Barry White. Could R. Kelly be suggesting that he is today’s Barry White of R&B? For much of the the 1970s and 80s (and even 90s), Barry White dominated R&B. While for the most of the 90s and the last decade, the same can said about Robert Kelly. Quincy Jones broke new grounds in 1990 by making a song that suggestively speaks about a man wanting to have sex with a woman.

Man. It’s been a while so I’ve got copious notes on shit I need to unleash on. Where to start?

In the spirit of getting myself readjusted to this blog at the proper rate, I’ll only offer this today.

A few weeks ago, comedian Louis CK went on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and, in a little over four minutes, explained the root of what’s wrong with most everything.

I sincerely missed doing it. Also, if this post appears clumsy, I promise you, I’ll get back in the swing of it. After the long break, it was difficult deciding what to include. I’ll work it out. I didn’t know udders could produce that kind of spray. It’s like an udder water gun. I remember milking a cow in my home school days, but nothing like this. Maybe all the hormones really are affecting our cows.

R: Nos encantan las listas… y no somos los únicos. Ya os hemos hablado en otras ocasiones de las listas maravillosas (y psicotrónicas) que se marcan los chicos de Gigwise. La última y tremenda: las 50 peores canciones de la década (del 2000, se entiende). Que ya se sabe que ahora empieza el tsunami de listas y más listas que recopilen esta primera década del Siglo XXI (en Pitchfork ya llevan un tiempo con este tema), pero hay que tener huevos para hacer una lista con lo peor. Y, sobre todo, una lista tan acertada. Que nadie se asuste de encontrar nombres como Iggy Pop (en su colaboración con Sum 41), Madonna (por American Life), Bon Jovi (It’s my life) o Justin Timberlake (I’m loving it)… porque no han tenido piedad con nadie. Porque, sinceramente, las de Madonna y Bon Jovi no son sus mejores composiciones, vale. Y la de Timberlake no tengo ni pajolera idea de qué canción és, aunque Justin es incapaz de hacer una canción mala… Pero hay cosas mucho peores por ahí. El único motivo por el que perdonamos a la gente de Gigwise es porque hacen total justicia con la morralla que, en los últimos años, confundió las guitarras con la actitud indie: Stereophonics (Mr. Writer), Razorlight (America), Limp Bizkit (Behind blue eyes), Nickelback (Rockstar)… También reciben ostias las estrellas poperas excesivas y ridículas: Mika (Grace Kelly), Geri Halliwell (It’s Raining Men), Mariah Carey (con Westlife en Against All Odds), Victoria Beckham (Out of your mind)… Y lo mismo con la chunguísima invasión de latin lovers en la escena internacional, con especial mención a Ricky Martin (She bangs) y Enrique Iglesias (Hero). Lo que más abundan, eso sí, son los esperpentos, que van desde lo entrañable de David Hasselhoff (Jump in my car) a lo surrealista de S Club 7 (Don’t stop moving), pasando por esperpentos como Sisqo (Thong song), Black Eyed Peas (My Humps), James Blunt (You’re beautiful) o el límite de lo insoportable: la puñetera Crazy Frog, que hace doblete en la lista. En el apartado de momentos de indignación, sin embargo, destacamos dos. El primer: Britney Spears con If u seek Amy. ¡Por favor! Si es un temazo, con esos coros hooligans y esa voz de prostituta resfriada (o encocada). Pero lo que más nos ha llegado al corazoncito es la aparición de Vengaboys. Que nadie se asuste, pero algún día les haremos justicia con una retrospectiva como Dios manda (con mucho cachondeo por en medio, claro). Ahora, eso sí, es vuestro turno: ¿qué canciones creéis que se han dejado? ¿Qué os indigna? Por una vez: ¡utilizad los comentarios del blog y manifestáos!

So you may have heard about this crazy ass story by now, ’bout Sisqo and some 14 year old groupie getting jiggy wid it like 10 years ago!! Well, Jamila Farid [the then 14 year old groupie, who was out clubbin' when she should have been at home in BED] is putting Sisqo on blast, claiming that the two DID go halves on a baby, and that Sisqo needs to man the f*ck up! She sent her letter into YBF.com and here’s what it said:

My name is Jamila Farid and I just came out with my life story ( in two major local magazines and news paper) regarding my son Ian, with Singer Sisqo. Our son is now 9 years old about to turn 10 in November. Of course the singer does not admit to his son and I am very tired of it. My goal is NOT to be famous or get rich off my story, but to finally have him to stand up to his son and stop denying it! I currently live in Switzerland and our son was concieved when Sisqo was here 10 years ago touring with Dru Hill. I am now 25 years old. I have been trying to get in contact with Sisqo or his people, but he keeps denying it, so my alternative is to just put it on blast untill he steps up. God bless him, but dear Sisqo it IS your SON! Thank you young black and fabulous for helping me and our son to get this case resolved.

So 10 years ago Sisqo got a 14 year old girl pregnant in Switzerland? Apparently she came backstage at one of his concerts & he pressed and bounced. The girl later finds out she is pregnant and has been in court ever since tryna prove the baby is his. Well she finally got the proof, the DNA test came back saying he is the daddy. This is fucked up, Sisqo should be in prison, I Wiki’d the age of consent in Switzerland and it’s 16 UNLESS the age gap between the 2 parties is less than 3 years, I checked his age and he def was not less than 3 years her senior. I’m just hoping he had no idea of her age. He should however in my opinion have a warrant for his arrest in Switzerland so he can at least be questioned about that shit. Im also hoping for the girl’s sake he still has some of that “Thong Song” and Dru Hill money.
