Ok, this is my first english blog. I’m not good with this language so my strategy will be write as less as possible so the trick will work. Well, except this post, can’t start something without introducing it a bit.

First of all it won’t be a blog (yeah, I lied) but a sort of memories box. Nothing from me, hopefully, just cool things I find here and there on the net; small pearls I want to keep without mess up my computer’s hard disk.

It should have been called Only Words 2 or something like but names were already taken so, being extremely lazy, I just took my nick. For reference Only Words was a website I’ve done long time ago with more or less the same purpose of the one you’re reading now, but it was in italian and also included poor writings from me.

Ok, enough for now, I’m already getting bored. ;P

Look, just because I’ve neglected my 3-day-a-week posting schedule here at In Pursuit of the Trivial doesn’t mean I’m being lazy.

I’ve simply been busy (which in some contexts, is certainly a suitable pseudo-synonym for lazy).

Here’s a look at work being done this November as the return of “Five Signs” looms…

Ira Glass came to Syracuse and made my journalistic career at the ripe age of 24.
We all work very hard at Photofocus.com to provide you with tons of free, valuable photo-related content. With more than 1000 posts to choose from, we like to think that there’s something here for everyone.

But it’s particularly nice to get some recognition once in a while that what we do matters. We’re proud to present these posts that made the Top Posts « WordPress.com list in the last 30 days. In each case, even though hundreds of thousands of posts are made to WP.COM each day, these posts made the top 100 on the day they published.

School’s been my life! However, instead of updating my website, I’ve been spending the free moments doing photoshoots or working on costumes. Working on Youmacon right now along with all my school work.

Updates to the site include, but are not limited too: the Zombie Family shoot I did Make-Up for, Got some photos of Diana in an abandoned house that we just for fun but turned out really awesome, Got some new banners for the site made by the lovely Leesers, added a ton of new links in general to my Links section (including alot of the people I’ve been shooting with), updated my projects section, took the shop down for the time being, used some recent picture from a recent photo shoot to spruce up my “About Me” section.

Good evening and thanks for dropping by Occam’s Barber Shop!

This project was spun off from my Renaistre Productions project shortly after launch so that Renaistre could focus fully on its primary mission of promoting new and exciting artists to new audiences. I liked the idea of having an ongoing intellectual discussion like those I enjoy with my friends, and hated to see the content Cody Nicoletti produced be lost forever. Banking on the idea “if you build it, they will come,” I decided that if I and my peers enjoyed waxing on abstract concepts, there surely must be some audience for it in the booming blogosphere.

Occam’s Barber Shop will be an ongoing project featuring the thoughts, opinions and analyses of young intellectuals on any variety of topics they find suitably stimulating. You may think of this as an online magazine publishing thought from an ecclectic array of contributors. It is my hope that the content published here will generate new thought and discussion among whatever company we may come to enjoy in the future. I cannot emphasize enough how important the contributions of readers are to the exchange, creation and synthesis of ideas. Use the comment boxes at the end of each article!

That’s all for now! I’m looking forward to the stimulating discussion ahead.

Why another game blog, Shelby? There are seventeen million of them out there already and none of them truly manage to compete with the likes of Kotaku or Joystiq on the general scale or size up against Gamepolitics and its ilk on a more focused level.

Well, blogs are about sharing opinions, thoughts and insight. I’d like to share mine.

I don’t have an inside link into the games industry, nor do I have the sort of journalistic connections that will net me fancy goodies and free games. I do, however, have a passion for video games and a lot of ideas about what makes a game good or bad, and how the industry as a whole seems to move. So sit down, strap yourself in and let’s see if I can’t give you something to think about, no?

I am giving away a Canon 7D! Yep – I can’t help myself. These are bound to be two of the hottest cameras around so why not give them both away?

Here’s how to enter to win the 7D.

First, go to Twitter and if you don’t already have an account there, set one up. It’s free. Then follow me – Scott Bourne. Go to http://www.twitter.com/scottbourne and click on the Follow button that appears under my profile.

Then, and this is the last step, simply write out the following tweet…

Win a new Canon 7D (or 2500 photo scans) from @ScanCafe & Scott Bourne. Pls RT. Details here: http://bit.ly/dgYgA

That’s it. Just follow me on Twitter. (http://www.twitter.com/scottbourne) Send out that Tweet – and you’re done.

But this is important – only do this ONE TIME! It does not in any way improve your odds if you Tweet this message more than once. If you do send it more than once, you’ll just make your followers mad and you won’t increase your odds.

Here’s some of the fine print – PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY.

If you are already following me on Twitter – you don’t need to un-follow and then re-follow. Unfollowing and refollowing or following multiple times will get you blocked and make you ineligible for the giveaway.

If you are already in for the Canon 5D MK II Giveaway – you still need to tweet about the 7D if you want a chance at that camera – but remember – only once.

You must be at least 18 years old to win. All taxes are the responsibility of the winner. The decision of the judges is final. The winner will be announced on Twitter.com December 15, 2009, sometime before Midnight.

This contest is void where prohibited by law. The contest is open to anyone, world wide as long as you live in a country where contests such as this one are legal. If you live in Quebec Canada for instance, you may not participate since contests like this one are illegal there without payment of a bond. It’s your responsibility to ensure that contests like this one are not prohibited by your local law. Actual prize awards will only happen after your execution of an affidavit of eligibility.

You may choose between the new Canon 7D (body only) still in the box or 2500 free photo scans from scanning leader @ScanCafe. *NOTE: If we have a winner located outside the US, they will pay shipping for the camera and are not eligible to win the scans.

We reserve the right to substitute a cashier’s check for $1900 US funds in the event that the 7D is discontinued or unavailable or in the event that Canon releases the camera at a price higher than $1900 US.

In the event of an international winner, neither Bourne Media Group or ScanCafe will be responsible for delays in prize delivery caused by Customs clearing.

We check the ScottBourne Twitter account for a list of followers. We verify the aforementioned re-tweet. We throw all that information at a random number generator and pick a winner.

You will not be able to enter as long as your tweets are private.

If any part of this makes you uncomfortable, or if you don’t like the fact that I do these giveaways, please don’t participate.

For the rest of you – I promise to (as in the past) make sure that you get plenty of good content from me here and on Twitter in between the giveaways.

Thanks for your support.
