Ok, this is my first english blog. I’m not good with this language so my strategy will be write as less as possible so the trick will work. Well, except this post, can’t start something without introducing it a bit.

First of all it won’t be a blog (yeah, I lied) but a sort of memories box. Nothing from me, hopefully, just cool things I find here and there on the net; small pearls I want to keep without mess up my computer’s hard disk.

It should have been called Only Words 2 or something like but names were already taken so, being extremely lazy, I just took my nick. For reference Only Words was a website I’ve done long time ago with more or less the same purpose of the one you’re reading now, but it was in italian and also included poor writings from me.

Ok, enough for now, I’m already getting bored. ;P

Look, just because I’ve neglected my 3-day-a-week posting schedule here at In Pursuit of the Trivial doesn’t mean I’m being lazy.

I’ve simply been busy (which in some contexts, is certainly a suitable pseudo-synonym for lazy).

Here’s a look at work being done this November as the return of “Five Signs” looms…

• Ira Glass came to Syracuse and made my journalistic career at the ripe age of 24. I interviewed Glass,  had my interview picked up by two local and one national outlet and then made a low-grade video tribute to all of it (while managing to sneak in my L4D2 fanaticism).

• Anthony Bourdain came through CNY in that same week and I managed to ask him what his favorite breakfast is.

• My Top Five Pop-Culture Diners list made its way onto USA Today’s Pop Candy blog.

• Two more diner-related happenings, I finally had the opportunity to dine at the infamous “DINER” off I-81 North at the Onondaga Nation exit. Then, I got to sit down and chat with local Syracuse foodie “The Baking Chin“

• Finally, I’ve been promoting my hopeful picks to perform at  SU next semester since our campus programming board is passing a survey around.

Sometimes it takes a village to raise a child… or to invigorate a blog?

Next week will mark the return of the “Five Signs” series. There will be a M-W-F full to commemorate and also to get regular posting back on track. I know – you ask,”are the locales exotic enough?” Well, any theme week needs a crown jewel after all, so get ready for some  virtual travel after the weekend.

Update-Update: This has been pushed back until after Thanksgiving to the week of 11/16 due to the proximity of Ira Glass’s SU visit and the work being done surrounding that.

Yep, that’s right, this is another iPhone/iPod Touch review site to add to the thousands already out there. However, I’m hoping this may stand the test of time and with my in depth knowledge of apps (I download that much crap that I do eventually come accross a right gem) I hope this may become a valuable source for honest, good reviews. Thanks for reading.

School’s been my life! However, instead of updating my website, I’ve been spending the free moments doing photoshoots or working on costumes. Working on Youmacon right now along with all my school work.

Updates to the site include, but are not limited too: the Zombie Family shoot I did Make-Up for, Got some photos of Diana in an abandoned house that we just for fun but turned out really awesome, Got some new banners for the site made by the lovely Leesers, added a ton of new links in general to my Links section (including alot of the people I’ve been shooting with), updated my projects section, took the shop down for the time being, used some recent picture from a recent photo shoot to spruce up my “About Me” section.

This project was spun off from my Renaistre Productions project shortly after launch so that Renaistre could focus fully on its primary mission of promoting new and exciting artists to new audiences. I liked the idea of having an ongoing intellectual discussion like those I enjoy with my friends, and hated to see the content Cody Nicoletti produced be lost forever. Banking on the idea “if you build it, they will come,” I decided that if I and my peers enjoyed waxing on abstract concepts, there surely must be some audience for it in the booming blogosphere.

Occam’s Barber Shop will be an ongoing project featuring the thoughts, opinions and analyses of young intellectuals on any variety of topics they find suitably stimulating. You may think of this as an online magazine publishing thought from an ecclectic array of contributors. It is my hope that the content published here will generate new thought and discussion among whatever company we may come to enjoy in the future. I cannot emphasize enough how important the contributions of readers are to the exchange, creation and synthesis of ideas. Use the comment boxes at the end of each article!

This morning I finally loaded a totally new version of the www.outofnapkins.com website.  It’s not complete but it is a lot more attractive and functional than the previous incarnations.  I’ll post updates as the features are activated.

Why another game blog, Shelby? There are seventeen million of them out there already and none of them truly manage to compete with the likes of Kotaku or Joystiq on the general scale or size up against Gamepolitics and its ilk on a more focused level.

Well, blogs are about sharing opinions, thoughts and insight. I’d like to share mine.

I don’t have an inside link into the games industry, nor do I have the sort of journalistic connections that will net me fancy goodies and free games. I do, however, have a passion for video games and a lot of ideas about what makes a game good or bad, and how the industry as a whole seems to move. So sit down, strap yourself in and let’s see if I can’t give you something to think about, no?
