Today I check my blog dashboard and I see several references from an Australian computer forum. So, I decide to click on it and I find that someone copy/pasted my blog post. I’m all for open source/creative commons, but I must say that I much like having my own opinions copyrighted and protected by me. You may use portions of my posts in any article/post of your own, but I request that you reference the original source (that is, myself).

The last post I made on my blog was on November 15. The last time I posted multiple entries in one week was months ago. And then there’s the fact that Andrew Turnbull has stopped blogging, and that Don’s blog is down. It makes me think, do most blogs die within a year? Hell, do most blogs die within 1 or 2 postings? (My original blogs did just that). Do we stop because everything we wanted to blog about was already blogged about? Or do we stop because we get tired of posting a lot, and finally just forget about?

It’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask, and I’ve always wanted to hear the answer. And then there’s the question of “Should I stop with this blog? With just 5,037 views since I started it just over a year ago.

Can’t believe we’re finally at the 100th post. I also can’t believe I started this blog on November 29, 2008. Has anything really changed all that much? Yes. I’ve finally started “liking” GNOME (I like the Dust theme). A tweaked GNOME on CentOS (my new distro of choice), and I’m good to go. Plus, I can’t believe my rant back in January got 28 comments.

I’ll be accessible via email, which may be easier than phone, as my computer is tied to my hip at all times.   Email dialogue is always welcome, 24/7,  and will be responded to in a timely manner.

Months back I commented that the Internet, or at least the portion of the Internet I frequent, seems to have died. What’s happened since then? If anything it’s gotten worse, not better. My IRC channel has gotten even more dead, Slashdot has started to suck more, and Usenet? It’s all file downloads these days. The blog? Dead too. A few months ago it had insight, and some witty-ness. These days? “Oh, do I have to post another blog entry?”, and I fill it with random crap.

Hey guys, just a quick note, to let you know I removed (dropped is a hard word) Verity Audio, Spiral Groove, Tri-planar Tonearms and 47 Labs from my product lineup.  After careful evaluation, based upon sales, customer requests and other things I won’t bore you with, I have determined this is the best course of action to take at this time.  They are very fine products, and I wish the manufacturers best of luck!

Now, more than ever, my focused product line up will showcase the very essence of the best available.

Fellow blogger Andrew Turnbull is contemplating if he should stop updating his blog. So have I. I fell that the quality of the content has gone from decent to mediocre to plain ole’ garbage. I also used to post blog entries almost everyday, but these days I don’t. The front page (as of now) contains posts from June 1st to April 3rd, while the 2nd page contains posts from April 2nd to March 3rd. In other words, I’ve been slacking off on content and quality.

Should I throw in the towel and be done or should I attempt to reinvent my blog?

EASYspore makes Spore easier, especially in the Space, Creature and Tribal stages. Changes include:

• Stronger tool huts in Tribal stage (1000 hp),
• Cheaper tool huts in Tribal stage (1 food),
• Level 1-4 bites act as though they were level 5 in Creature stage,
• Effect of the charge attack last longer in Creature stage,
• Charms and dance make a bigger social impact in Creature stage,
• Epics have weaker attacks in Creature stage,
• Gliding parts help a creature to glide further in Creature stage,
• Sprinting lasts longer and takes a shorter time to recharge in Creature stage,
• Lasers give out more damage in Space stage,
• Fetch/Abduct missions give out more money on completion, and trigger a bigger relationship improvement in Space stage,
• Biospheres take longer to collapse (more time for player to save eco-system) in Space stage,
• Groups of rares sell for more in Space stage,
• Eradicate missions allow a longer time for completion in Space stage,
• More spice can be mined from colonies (max 50) in Space stage,
• Interstellular drives 2-5 give a bigger distance (inst. drive 2 takes around 10 clicks from home to core) in Space stage,
• Fireworks tool is cheaper in Space stage,
• Less energy is used for social tools in Space stage,
• Plus, other subtle changes,

I recently took a look at my blog’s stats page, and what I saw excitied me:

2,849 blog views since I started the blog on November 29th, 2008. Not too bad I believe.

Since I’ve gotten my headset, I’ve been doing headsetty things. Prank calling people on Skype. Recording stupid things in Audacity/Sound Recorder and then remixing it. I thought, why not do something productive. Or, productive a thing I could make. I decided on a Podcast.

Oh, and Don, what ever happened to your podcast?

I finally got a headset today. I know to most other people have had one for at least the last few years, and I felt I didn’t need one. But times change. I need to be able to win at online games. Talk to others online. But, one possibility I had was to allow users to download “spoken” versions of these articles, such as what Slashdot does. But unlike Slashdot, I’d speak ‘em myself.

Oh, and you can Skype me: I’m “stoperror” on Skype.

well, I was going through stuffs that i had written over the last few years and which i hadn’t posted here… …and i thought that maybe i should gather those stuffs here… and it’s probably a good idea since i haven’t been  writing much lately, except posting some photos and illustrations now and then… some of you might have read these before though… here goes..

After I said that IE5 was from a rendering point, superior to Netscape 4, I felt I had to back up my claim. So here I am! Stop Error rendered on FF3, IE6,IE5,IE4, IE3, Netscape 4, and Netscape 3.

Internet Explorer 6. Nothing to comment on here. Looks decent.

Internet Explorer 5. Ahh… looks almost as good as IE6. Since I’m using Multiple IE on XP, it doesn’t have that “native” look.

Internet Explorer 4. Here, we’re starting to see some major rendering flaws.

Internet Explorer 3.  This is the Win16 (Windows 3.1) version. Text only! Woo!

Netscape 4.  I really want to say that this is better than IE 5 or IE 4, or even IE 3, but it just isn’t. Plus, this is NS 4.8, from 2002.

Netscape 3. Didn’t even render it. JavaScript errors. How so very 1990’s.

So, after this, I can say that IE 5 was rendering wise, superior. Sorry, but that’s just how it was. Plus, performance wise, IE 5 was faster.

What makes a good blog? One that documents the exploits of one geek’s day to day life? One that states the opinions of such geek? Or one that makes people use their brains? One that’s controversial? Yes, one that’s controversial. When you look at it, you get attention with controversy. Would you get attention if you just said “I don’t like Macintosh computers because they’re took expensive for my budget, not too configurable, and a lack of native software.”, or if you said “I don’t like Mac’s because Steve Jobs sucks balls”. Why, the latter of course! At times I do get too contriversial. Other times, I’m just too bland. People DON’T want to hear about me ranting about stuff they could care less about.

And yes, Mr. Shen, the “I don’t like Macintosh computers because they’re took expensive for my budget, not too configurable, and a lack of native software.”, is the true reason I dislike the Apple Macintosh.

I just looked and saw that I had 999 views of my blog (not counting me of course) since November 29th. I really don’t know how blogs go, but is this good for a blog that isn’t even 2 months old yet? 87 comments and 40 posts. Is the blog successful? I hope to think so, but I’d like your insight on this. How do I make this a better blog? Here’s the oh so optional (yet ever so lovely) screenshot:
