Usually I go check out WordPress forums when my site stats dramatically change. I finally went over there to discover other people experiencing a sudden drop. Whatever is going on, it’s not just me.

Site stats and visitors have always mystified me. When lots of folks show up, it’s a mystery and when lots of people disappear it’s just as mysterious. I wish I could put up my site stat chart. It does not copy. I’ll try to pick out some highs and lows for examples.

My top post of all time has had 15,875 views. Wow!
The most referrals have come from my Peace and Carrots web site at 24,696 visits
The top search term is funny at 58,904 tries
The most clicked on link is Heather’s old blog at 5,835 pokes
The most visits in one day is 7,819

There have been 1,382,690 visits since I began this blog in December of 2007

Oooops! Almost forgot to tell you that there have been 13,500 spam comments

Sooooo…when there were only 1,530 hits the other day, it was a thousand less than a typical day. That is a bigger dip than happens on major holidays.

The conclusion? Either something weird was happening with the world or with WordPress……

All the ‘lively’ feedback from week 1 certainly seems to have made an impact on the usage of the site, if nothing else:
