You don’t have the time or the resources to evaluate every applicant who strolls in. to guide your w

You don’t have the time or the resources to evaluate every applicant who strolls in. to guide your work, you should develop a profile of your “ideal” candidate. You may never find your ideal, but you will establish a basic framework that outlines the person you are looking for.

Developing an ideal candidate profile is similar to viewing a lineup of suspects after you’ve witnessed a bank robbery. The individual you pick out may not be the actual bank robber, but chances are the real criminal is strongly similar. Often, a lineup helps police establish the silhouette or basic framework of the person being sought. The police is clear even if the details are not. Likewise, your ideal candidate profile will give you a sharper idea of what you are really looking for, so that you can increase your odds of finding him or her.

Use the following outline to develop of profile of your ideal candidate:

Must have, or have done, or be able to do:

Experience: type and years

Industry: type, or specific companies, and years

Skills or talents

Education

Should have, or have done, or be able to do:

Experience: type and years

Industry: type, or specific companies, and years

Education

Would be nice to have, or have done, or be able to do:

Experience: type and years

Industry: type, or specific companies, and years

Skills or talents

Education

Be specific when you draft your outline. If you want someone with strong follow-up skills, say so. If you want an assertive person who can handle high stress, say so. To create a good match between job and candidate, you need to define the person as closely as you define the job.

Keep your company culture in mind, too. If your company is team-oriented and flexible, you want a candidate who is comfortable with teamwork—and not everyone is. If your department is highly structured, you want someone who works well in a structured situation. Describe the qualities that your company values so that you can find compatible candidates.

Just remember that defining the candidate is a lot like shopping for groceries: the more you toss into your shopping cart, the more you’ll pay. The cost of filling a job is influenced by two factors: how long it takes to find the candidate, and the supply of qualified candidates. The greater the number of must have items on your list, the longer it’s going to take to find that person. The greater the experience, skills, or education requirements, the smaller the supply of candidates and the larger the compensation package required to hire the person.

I read this book just couple or days ago, and still feel thrilled due to the information that I got

I read this book just couple or days ago, and still feel thrilled due to the information that I got from this book.
I can’t wait to share with you all what I got from the book.

The book called “The Three Laws Of Performance” The authors are Steve Zaffron who is CEO of Vanto Group, an organizational performance consultancy, and a board member of Landmark Education. Dave Logan, Ph.D., co-founder of the CultureSync consultancy.

The chapter that I wanna share is about How A Situation Occurs Arises in Language.
This law focuses on the importance of understanding how people communicate beyond the spoken word. Body language, facial expressions and voice inflections mean as much as words. Individuals can say one thing but transmit an entirely different message through what they leave unsaid. Dysfunction is guaranteed when groups of co-workers refuse to speak or deal honestly with each other – or management – and swallow their feelings.

Opening the lines of communication doesn’t mean spouting off and expressing every thought in your head. It means speaking frankly about your concerns and discussing issues that affect performance. Bottling up your thoughts creates disorder and leaves no space for new ways of thinking. “Clearing out the clutter” is one way to open the door to better performance. Learning to identify “rackets” is another gateway to interpreting language and improving communication. Rackets are negative behavioral patterns that typically have four components:

1. A persistent complaint – “Bob never gets his assignments completed on time.”

2. A reaction – The complainer gets exasperated at the grievance or withdraws.

3. A continual “payoff” – The complainer benefits from feeling superior.

4. An emotional cost of racket behavior – Everyone is unhappy and relationships erode in the face of criticism and contention.

People engaged in rackets pretend that everything is fine when actually they lack closeness and amaraderie. Usually, people cannot identify the payoff and cost of a racket. They sense a threat, so they try to protect their territory and maintain control.

They feel they must always be right and they avoid any steps that could shift power to others. To eliminate rackets, voice the unsaid. People must examine the past and reframe the “game” to move ahead.

What to do….what to do? That’s such a famous question. People wonder what to do on a day to day basis. They wonder what to do with their bills, their children, their jobs, their cars, their mortgages and most importantly they wonder what to do with their life? I mean who hasn’t asked them self, “What do I want to do with MY LIFE?” And how are we supposed to know exactly what we want to do with our life? The human mind is constantly changing so how are we to know what we would like to do with our life, when one day we may want to do a desk job and the next we may want to do an extreme job! So how does one decide what to do with their life? If you think you have the answer to this mind boggling situation please leave me a comment with your answer!

A factor that is driving the trend towards automating the sales department is the extent to which speed has become a strategic advantage in the selling process. Once, it was acceptable for salespeople to promise to get back to customers with answers to questions. Increasingly, those salespeople are finding that by the time they get back to their customers with the necessary information, the sales opportunity has evaporated. The ability to respond to customers quickly is crucial to success, and the tolerances are narrower than ever before.

Similarly, the ability to compress the sales order cycle is becoming an extremely significant factor in a competitive situation. Your customers, who are under the same competitive pressures as you, are placing more and more emphasis on increased cash flow and reduced inventories. Reducing your sales order cycle from four days to two can make an important and measurable difference, certainly enough of a difference to determine whether or not you get the order.

Yes indeed. And, the dog didn’t know the alphabet in order to arrange CD’s & DVD’s either.

The cashier did not say one word to me. ONE WORD. After waiting through the ridiculous line (no other registers were open, as I was being checked out another employee lazily sauntered over to her register), the woman rang me up did not say “hello”, “hi”, “good evening”, “credit or debt”, or even “Go #*%$ yourself!”. My wife looked at me like we were in the Twilight Zone.

Holy cow, this is ridiculous. Sadly, it’s indicative of what happens pretty much every time I go to that store. There are some other great area Kmarts, like the one in Robinson, and even the one in Bridgeville… but this one is closest to my house… What the heck is wrong with everyone who works there? Don’t they take any sort of pride in the store? Don’t the managers see what’s going on, how the store looks, how the employees behave… and why don’t they care???

I just can’t even fathom being a cashier, and not greeting people… or even acknowledging their presence. And, I can’t fathom a shift, store, or regional manager that would a. hire someone like that (let alone dozens like that); and b. let that kind of behavior slide.

Subject: Re: InquiryHello Jodie,Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I’m not sure if there’s anything further to discuss. I pretty much expressed my issues below.

I can’t imagine how stressful it must be to run a store… but it seems that your Kmart is slipping in comparison to stores like the aforementioned Robinson & Bridgeville locations.

Back when we were just dating, my wife used to work at the Kmart on Route 8 just outside of Shaler (not sure of the actual neighborhood there), and the managers were on them all the time to have multiple registers open, to have the shelves stocked neatly & orderly, and they always had a lot of registers open at the front.

I just see a general lack of “give a damn” in Parkway Center. Hopefully the trend is reversing though, as this e-mail has shown me that you do indeed care about your store.

Thank you for your time,
Subject: RE: InquiryEric,Stressful is a word that doesn’t even describe what retail is nowadays. However, I do take pride in the store and at times it does get out of control. I appreciate feedback any way it comes. We strive to do our best with the personnel in the store. It does fall apart at times and we are working hard at correcting those problems.
Just keep us on your shopping list this year and let us try to show you we are looking at alternative ways to improve your shopping experience.

I found this to be a fairly positive response. I can’t imagine trying to manage a group of people who generally do not care.

Recently I was watching a rerun episode of “3d Rock From The Sun,” a serial science fict

Recently I was watching a rerun episode of “3d Rock From The Sun,” a serial science fiction situation comedy which originally aired on NBC from 1996-2001. It starred John Lithgow as (High Commander) Dr. Dick Solomon, Kristen Johnston as (Security Officer, Lt.) Sally Solomon, French Stewart as (Communications Officer) Harry Solomon, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as (Information Officer) Tommy Solomon. The characters they portray have come from another more advanced planet and the hilarity with which they encounter the nuances of behavior on Earth though blunted, is frequently hilarious, and serves as the basis for the zany show.

In this 2d season episode #22, entitled “Will Work For Dick” which originally aired May 4, 1997, Dick’s secretary Nina quits, and Dick hires Harry, whose poor skills become Dick’s source of frustration, while Nina tells Harry to fight back. Meanwhile, to advance her understanding of the human experience, Sally decides to attend a children’s ballet school to re-live the childhood she never had.

As usual, in the summary closing scene, they all are seated upon the roof to reflect upon the day’s events. In this episode Tommy, Harry and Sally are seated on the roof, while Dick joins them shortly.

Sally: Gyp – all I wanted was a normal childhood but Dick just couldn’t let me have one! I felt so humiliated.

Tommy: Hmm… I bet when you looked out into that audience and you didn’t see Dick there that you just felt like your heart was torn out.

Sally: Yeah.

Tommy: Yeah… and you felt betrayed and alone.

S: Uh huh.

T: …and you’ll never trust anyone ever again.

S: Exactly!

T: Yeah. Well, congratulations Sally! You’ve just taken your first step into childhood.

S: I have?

T: Yeah… and now you take all this emotional damage and let it feed your adult neuroses.

Harry: And the best part is that if you ever kill a guy or balloon up to 400 pounds, you get to blame Dick.

Dick: (off screen, and climbing onto the roof) Sally!! Sally… Sally! I am so sorry I missed your recital!

S: Yeah, you did. Umm, thanks, Dick.

Dick: What for?

S: Well, you’ve given the most precious gift of all…. emotional baggage. Thanks.

D: You’re welcome.

S: Now I gotta’ go eat.

D: I’m sorry Harry… I thought I didn’t need anyone. I thought I could do everything by myself. It turns out I was wrong. I do need someone… just not you.

H: Well, it takes a big man to admit that. And I guess it just goes to show you that you can’t work with your family.

T: But technically, we’re not a family. We’re more like coworkers.

D: Well… it goes to show you can’t work with your coworkers.

T: Isn’t that the motto of the Postal Service?

How ironic is it that within this humorous exchange we see the fallacy of blaming others and not accepting responsibility?

Birthed from pain, blame avoids responsibility. The fallacy that we are self-sufficient feeds failure. Yet our natural tendency to avoid pain curiously drives us toward pain through avoidance of responsibility, which in turn feeds failure and absence.

It’s a vicious cycle. It’s a destructive cycle. But, it’s part and parcel of our shared human experience.

Calling honesty… come in honesty.

Is there anybody out there?

on recommencera.

What happens to the Church in a TEOTWAWKI situation?

This is something that I have been pondering for a while. I am just a Christian; I attend a non denominational Christian Church and I am very proud to do my part, my wife and I teach 1st grade Sunday school every week. We have many factors to consider these days. This month a report came out stating that 1 out of every four persons on the planet is a Muslim. This by itself put’s Christianity on the backburner as the World’s religion.

Things have been getting tougher and tougher for Christians over the last decade. We have been asking for God to leave us alone for so long is it any wonder that He is obliging? We threw him out of our courts, schools, and pretty much everything else except in Church activity which is in question. But what if something happens that makes Christianity go underground? I have been doing a lot of researching and from what I can find Christianity thrives even more where Christians are persecuted and forced to worship underground, in homes, etc.

The word Church comes from the Greek word Ekklesia which has many different meanings. The least of which is the Church that we know today. A lawful assembly can also be called an Ekklesia. Ekklesia generally means those called out to be God’s, etc. There is no direct mention in the Bible about erecting buildings for the glory of God. When did Jesus ever build a building to worship in, or instruct his apostles to build one? He never did.

I fear the remaining removal of our liberties here in the United States has the potential to really kick God’s Kingdom into high gear. We are going through tough times but what we have to remember is that God’s economy is not necessarily our economy. And prepare the best that we can for our families; to be prepared for whatever might happen to us as a people.

I was raised church of Christ “cofC” in a small town in Niles Michigan and lived most of my life thinking that we were the only few people actually going to make it to Heaven. We worked very hard to make ourselves worthy enough to make it to our Father’s Kingdom. Unfortunately, a religion based on works doesn’t work in this era of grace. We have to trust in God to make his grace cover our mistakes because we are just fallible people in the end.

Okay; I am jumping all over the place with this blog post and that is not my intent. The intent of the post is to reinforce the fact that we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Rich or poor, master or slave, we are all equal in the sight of our Father in Heaven. Have you ever tried studying or worshiping together in a home setting? If you have; I wonder if you have noticed how the dynamics all change when we get out of a building that we think that God lives in. For God does not live in buildings; He lives in our hearts like the Bible says. And we have to desire a intimate relationship with him if we are ever going to move forward in the Kingdom

If you are thinking of survival and planning for things that might happen you should consider how will ou worship? We plan for long periods without food, power, etc in the survivalist community. But do we plan for the most important part of our life? Our relationship with our Father in Heaven.

Bring it up with someone that you trust and that you are comfortable with. Try a Bible Study. I have a great free book in PDF format for your consideration. “So, You don’t want to go to Church anymore” by Wayne Jacobsen is one of the most Christ Exalting books I have ever seen. Here is a link. Download a copy today and start reading it. This book changed my life. You can start to see things that you have been taught were the correct way your entire life, really have little to do with the New Testament Kingdom and love, and more to do with the Old Testament ‘s way of the law and rule following. God bless all of you!

So, you don’t want to go to Church Anymore – http://www.jakecolsen.com/JakeStory.pdf – Free PDF Book.

Have you ever been somewhere to witness another person doing something so weird or out of the ordinary you pause to think “what are they possibly doing?” or “What could they possibly be thinking?” and then the situation could go one of two ways.

1) It turns out that the person was doing something completely sane, very well thought out, and completely logical and you feel like an idiot for second-guessing them

or

2) They actually are crazy and then you probably feel bad about making snide comments in your head.

Yeah, that’s the kind of luck I have So it turns out that I’m probably the crazy one in most situations. Imagine that!

OMG only 3 days left!!!

Question: Do you think that your mind thinks inside or outside of the box?

So I’m reading this other blog about this poor woman’s situation/relationship, or monumental waste of time, or science experiment, I guess it really depends on how creative you wanna get with what you call it, and it seems that there are just entirely too many assholes out there and not enough real men who are boyfriend/husband material. Pffft. And then when you add to the one or two who might be, a crazy, somewhat skanky, certainly insane, self-appointed bodyguard (read as deluded “friend” who really wants to be more than a “friend” to this guy, but she’s either, too fat, too ugly, or too unhinged to be GF material to the poor sap), and the decent guy pickings, get even slimmer because come on now, who wants to deal with a whacked out friend who fancies herself more than that to your potential man?? I’m sorry that’s just one too many pieces of Samsonite and I can be pretty tolerant for the right man as can most women. Now by right and decent guy I’m talking about the upright, non-knuckledragging, non-cretin, who can dress himself without the help of Grrranimals and does not, in fact, still live in mom’s basement, and has a paying job that does not require a hair net and the phrase, “do you want fries with that.” Oh, and lets not forget the ability to string words together to make a coherent sentence, minus the use of the words, “dude”, “homie”, “bee-atch”, “gangsta”, “pimp”, or “aight”. I mean come on now WTF does that mean, “aight”? It’s like one of those words that sounds like it’s slang for a body part. Oh, and lets not forget the ability to be able to wear his pants somewhere in the vicinity of his waist and not down around his knees with his underwear showing because they just saw whoever the newest gangsta rapper is and they think it’s cool, and this is nevermind the fact that they are 30-something or worse 40-something, because then you are dealing with all of the above AND a really fucking bad hair piece that looks like something my cat hawked up after a really enthusiastic licking of himself. I’m telling you dating in the 21st century let alone finding a relationship with any merits is near impossible. ACK.

You know god help us all, at this rate if the dating situation doesn’t get any more favorable for women, if 2012 doesn’t make the human race extinct, we’re gonna become extinct anyways because women won’t be doing the dirty with much other than the latest, and greatest Rabbit on the vibrator market because actually finding a guy you can stomach sleeping with will have become an exercise in futility. People, my strongest and best advice, BUY A FUCKLOAD of stock in Duracell… ya’ll stand to make a fortune in the New World…

Matthew 28:16-20

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

One of my greatest fears about following Christ is my evidence of faith when the rubber meets the road and tough times come storming into my life. I always wonder if I will have the strength to carry on and live by the faith which I now live by. It seems that the disciples were in the same situation when they were asked by Jesus to go to Galilee after His resurrection. When Jesus called them, they left everything they had including family, careers, homes and all to follow Him but when Jesus was captured and flogged, they ran for their lives. Even Peter who promised Jesus to be by his side regardless of the outcome denied Him 3 times before the rooster crowed. What then is the use of saying we have submitted our lives to Christ and where is he calling us?

Over the years, I have learned that as long as we are ourselves, we can never really be faithful followers of Christ because we are sinful by nature and our inner selves want nothing more than to appease ourselves. However, when we hand over the reins of our existence to Jesus, the Holy Spirit indwells in us and directs us, but we still have an option to obey or not. The disciples were called to Galilee and they went, some with real doubts, but when they obeyed and accepted Jesus’ commissioning for them, their belief was transformed and they became pillars of faith that today we look up to. What Jesus is asking us to do today is to leave our problems, issues and worries to him and to simply obey him. When we do, he will transform us into his likeness and show us a new life with new meaning which we never had and also give us the faith we need to follow him. Obedience and submission is key.

In Japan’s early history, a serious disregard for manners could be punishable by death, and any samu

In Japan’s early history, a serious disregard for manners could be punishable by death, and any samurai could kill any common person who failed to show him proper respect. The Japanese were required to behave in precisely prescribed ways—wearing permitted clothing, walking only a certain way, sleeping with their heads pointing in a certain direction and legs arranged a particular way. Eating, greeting, gesturing with hands, opening doors and many work tasks had to be done in assigned ways without deviation. Conduct became a measure of morality, and virtue in manners was visible for all to see. Even today, the code of conduct plays a significant role in the lives of the Japanese. Many societies, not Japan alone, have a prescribed form and manner for every familiar situation that might arise. Unforeseen situations can cause intense embarrassment or discomfort. Throughout East Asia, actions are judged by the manner in which they are performed. More important than the accomplishment of a task is the question of how someone went about trying to complete the task: Did he act sincerely? More important than winning the race is the grace of the runner. More important than expertise is the way one gets along with others. More important than profits is harmony. In contrast, Westerners and particularly Americans are more concerned with the principles of things, hard “measures” and objective facts. Although rules of ethics are extremely important, we are more goal oriented than method-conscious, we say “a good loser is a loser.”

One aspect of form is the concept of “face.” Much has been written about “face-saving” in Japan and China, but face-saving is important absolutely everywhere. The difference is only a matter of degree and nuance. Where an American might feel a little guilty or inadequate, an Asian, Arab or South American may feel deep shame and humiliation. What an American might see as a little honest and constructive criticism, the foreigner may take as a devastating blow to pride and dignity. A foreigner is likely to be sensitive to feelings of others in transactions that an American would consider strictly impersonal, such as returning a defective product or switching hairdressers. The traveler simply must be more conscious of saying things or behaving in ways that cannot be taken as disrespect, criticism or humiliation. In some countries it seems just about anything can be taken personally, even such indirect affronts as not taking your shoes off in a mosque or complaining about the heat.

Harmony with the environment can be as important as sensitivity to people in some cultures. In Japan a woman wears a soft pastel dress to a flower show so as not to take away from the beauty of the flowers. In countries where people believe in reincarnation they are careful about all forms of life. In India, for example, people are careful not to swallow gnats or step on ants—one might be a relative.
