I finally finished my Lightning picture from Final Fantasy XIII. Here she be.

quickie ink sketch tonight.

Today I tried all sorts of new foods. I started out with some spaghetti (see video below). I learned it is as fun as it is delicious. Next, I tried at my hand at some sushi. I recommend California Rolls with the very best sticky rice. Then, I had some lettuce to get in my vegetables. I was skeptical at first, but it was pretty good. Then I topped it off with Red Velvet Cake. Yummmmm.

Fiz esse sketch logo que cheguei do trampo, pra desenhar um pouco e dar uma relaxada. Incrível como saiu rapidão, não demorou mais que uns 15 minutos.

Bem ao contrário do que ocorreu nas chamadas  “horas pagas”, tive a sensação de que o dia não foi perdido, pois gostei de vários aspectos do sketch. Explico abaixo:

1. A linha que sai da borda do topo do capô e vai se unir à coluna A.
2. A soleira bem agressiva, fazendo parecer que tem uma lança acoplada ao carro
3. O pneu balão, inspirado nos sketches do Daniel Simon
4. A forma do canto do vidro que inicia a coluna A
5. A curva do pára-choque que faz a volta na traseira e aparece na vista lateral.

Bom, talvez daqui alguns dias eu encontre milhões de defeitos, mas por hora… curti!

I seriously forgot this existed. Drawn during the long idle hours of the summer with ballpoint pen. Colours altered a bit with Photoshop.

I playing around the other day and doing some quick sketches and came up with this!

This poor girl thought she was safe inside her conjuring circle, until someone or “something” blew out a candle. I sketched this out this morning because my friend Terry at Sassy Designs wanted to see something girly…maybe next time a ballerina zombie. Actually, I like that idea.

Stephin Merritt’s iconic voice is what first drew me to the music of Magnetic Fields.

This is more typical of what I come up with when I sit down and mess around in Logic for a while, hopefully I can develop my working method a little beyond coming up with sections and develop my mixing skills.

Pixelelement illustration contest featuring Zhille

Here’s a fun little spot illustration I did for the Renaissance & Baroque Society of Pittsburgh, this time to promote a concert of ancient Scottish and Irish music—both sacred (church liturgy) and profane (drinking songs).  The costume is from a painting of a highland aristocrat wearing his hunting clothes.

In den persönlichen Bereich einer anderen Person einzudringen (im übertragenen Sinne) wird oft als störend empfunden – in den meisten Fällen auch zu Recht. Bei David und mir ist das nicht so. Wir ignorieren den Privatbereich des jeweils anderen mit einer verachtenden Ignoranz. Freiraum? Persönliche Entfaltung? In der 2gewinnt-Beziehung sucht man danach vergeblich. Wir engen uns ein und zollen einander den Respekt den wir verdienen: Keinen.
Doch ab und zu gibt es auch zärtliche Momente. Einen davon möchten wir sehr gerne mit der Öffentlichkeit teilen:

Michelin-starred restaurant Sketch and Arts & Business Principal Member GSK are coming together in a meeting of minds with a pop-up patisserie and cafe inside the Royal Academy from the start of December, coinciding with the opening of GSK’s second annual Contemporary season.

GSK Contemporary: Art of a Changing World will feature international contemporary artists, both established and up and coming using a multiplicity of media including exhibitions, film screenings and talks concerning environment and the modern world. It mixes the political, the environmental and the cultural, creating a series of works set to inspire debate. In its first year East London’s Bistrotheque set up their pop-up restaurant in tune with the exhibition called Flash made from art storage boxes.

Sketch will also be following the ethos of GSK Contemporary by using seasonal ingredients produced solely in Britain and using recyclable materials such as recycled heavy duty cardboard for furniture. Despite the eco-friendly credentials expect this pop-up cafe to be the height of glamour and design. The Sketch restaurants themselves went over a multi-million pound makeover at the turn of the century, and have strong links to art and music. They hold exhibitions in their own gallery, the last being of Noam Gonick and his works on Queer culture and human rights abuses in August. Exhibitions change every six weeks and they engage with new media with the use of projectors in their space.  Furthermore, the space will have input from Sketch’s Artistic Director Mark Lawson Bell who has also worked with Absolut Vodka, Hendrick’s Gin and Body Shop.

Of course with the gorgeous surroundings there will be sublime food. Imagine oyster bars and creperies, along with Michelin standard afternoon tea and lunch. The outside section – where you can order takeaways – should be comfortable with the cafe providing hot water bottles and blankets.

With this event we see the finest, most chic food mixing with innovative, radical art that pushes the boundaries. The pop-up restaurant opens on December 3^rd and will be keeping the public enchanted and well fed for three months.

I’ve had it for awhile now (almost a year), but I don’t use it much. So I decided to bust out Alchemy! It’s a powerful graphic tool that allows you to create ridiculously hi-res images as PDFs that can later be edited in Photoshop or any other image program. These images here are just some quick shapes that I busted out in, no joke, under a minute each.

Like I said, these images are done quickly, but they also use the basics of the program. Download it for free and try some of the amazing functions out on there yourself!
hopefully, there will be more to come. I think I’m going to discover it as a godsend when creating some of my character symbols for Candy Kingdom, which should, in fact, be getting a rather large update on here within the coming days (hype!). Stay tuned, and as always, enjoy!
