(Not Pictured); The Full Closet version is completely decorated with clothes and shoes and is 304 prims (Pictured).The shoe displays are 6 prims each; you could remove the shoes and keep the clothes to save prims
The bed, chair, and sectional are mod/copy so you can recolor them if you choose to. So, this is a blog? I honestly can’t say I know what to do or expect or anticipate — maybe it’s just a catch all for thoughts and things I like. We’ll see. I’m just considering this a soft rollout and a pseudo-review of the snow.white skybox by Jordan Giant found here on Xstreet SL.

I’ve always liked the idea of having a place in SL…a home. And really, I’ve always had one. Starting out as a renter on an estate like I’m sure a lot of folks do. Then a bigger parcel. And bigger. Until finally I bought mainland. I don’t even remember the name of the first sim, but I jumped from plot to plot over the years. The builds were all over the place, too. From grungy warehouse to waterfront office space to beautiful but empty, sterile and cavernous homes. It was a love/hate relationship. I wanted to experience a place that provided me belonging and solace. But still I felt alone. I never called my places “my house” or “our house” (in the case I was with another SLer at the time.) It was always “my land.”

That changed suddenly and very unexpectedly when one of my oldest and dearest friends, Melanie, suggested we create something together. I guess we could have lived in a cardboard box at that point But I had already been combing through the Second Spaces blog and simply fell in love with the snow.white skybox and I knew it would be perfect. Second Spaces has been a great resource for all kinds of interiors choices. Elle Kirshner’s whip smart, design savvy and has lots of wonderful items in her store that have found their way into our skybox. But that’s another story.

I don’t think it’s really necessary to review the skybox after all. It’s not a particularly new release and there’s way better writers out there with more history and experience in design and fashion who have blogged it.

For me it’s home. And that’s what really matters

One of the things I like to do while on SL is the grid-wide hunts. It’s fun and relaxing to miraculously teleport from store to store, searching for the item that holds a goodie….and the “clue” to your next destination. I have found some really great places this way. If I owned a shop, I would absolutely want to be involved in one of these hunts. It is a great way to get your name out there and make people aware of your presence!

Speaking of presents (!)…the beautiful dress I am wearing is POE gift #199 from Crissy Designs; The Christmas-y skybox is from Kosh (one of their Christmas calander gifts which I’m pretty sure you had to get on a certain day; the Christmas hangout scene is a subscribo gift from MB Creationz.  It includes two sit poses, the presents and the tree. I really love this store. They also had a Halloween hangout scene for their subscribo patrons….so  just hit the subscribo and you should be ble to find the Christmas hangout  in history?

At Garden of Dreams you can get this Skybox. The Skybox is a cartoonish snow scene and have  231 prims.

..the goose is getting fat! Well…I’m not having goose for Christmas, but that song is stuck in my head anyway. Why? Cause I have new Christmasy goodies in the shop!

Great for use as a skybox or a normal house and it is mod/copy, so feel free to make it suit your needs. Gate opens and closes to the yard, sliding doors lead into the lower area of the house that features a wood floor. Step up onto the tatami flooring and relax in the soothing shades of greens and browns. And it is only 24 prims so you still have space for your furniture! Yay!

Years ago, my buddy and I had friends that would go to SkyBox Bar & Grill in North Glendale. It was a restaurant that turned into a bar scene at night. Always a great place to hang out, not! Seemed okay at the time but now that I think about it, it really wasn’t that cool. It was actually gross most of the time.

OK…here’s what was gross on one occasion I was there.

If you were there at night, when it became a bar, you would see things that you couldn’t understand. I remember going into the bathroom stall only to find nastiness. There was not only puke all over the toilet and ground but there was also crap, as well. Here’s what I want to know….which came first?? Was it so bad when someone walked in that they just had to throw up? Or, was it the opposite – did someone see the throw-up and not care and sat down to go anyways? Or, is there a 3rd option – was it one person who did both??

Extra gross….

There wasn’t even any toilet paper in the toilet, the holder, anywhere!!! How gross can we get, really, how gross? It’s probably the same kind of person that doesn’t wash their hands and walks out the door back into the world. Be careful to shake hands at SkyBox – or any night time venue for that matter.

Sorry for all the grossness – I typically don’t share stuff this gross.

Since I joined Plurk in February, I’ve met tons of SL folks I would probably not ever have met otherwise…and I get to hear about more finds and exciting stuff than I think I ever have by reading blogs. What that means, then, is that I’m totally gonna steal from my Plurk pals and blog some of the places that they’ve plurked. It’s all in the spirit of sharing and giving and stuff. So here are some pretty awesome places I heard about through Plurk…

Jordan Giant: okay, Jordan is a person, not a place. She has some of the most precious little skyboxes ever – they’re available on XStreet, and you can visit them in-world – just check Jordan’s profile Picks and she has them tabbed there. First, the snow.white skybox | loft – the furniture is not included, and isn’t made by Jordan, but she’s done an amazing job of staging so that you can see the potential here!

drift.wood skybox – I LOVE the wood texture on this one. The hanging lightbulbs are included, and are so cute! They each turn on/off individually, which is just fun.

So I’ve done something new and definitely different for me!  I built a skybox.  No its true!  You can even buy it if you want, been told its seriously cute.  You’ll love it   And I loved it.  Took me weeks and weeks to do but I already have ideas for two more builds.  SL is almost exciting again, now if only RL would actually give me time to indulge.  Ahh well as time permits there will be more.
