Ninja-600 este o chitară în general bună, nici chiar “super-marfă” dar te poate servi până când decizi să îţi cumperi una mai scumpă.Calitatea şi sunetul sunt ceva mai bune decât la JH-200, însă şi preţul pe măsură ~1000Euro,personal nu cred că se merită cheltuiala.

NP: Slayer – Reign In Blood

Trilha sonora do CAOS.

Essa é a única definição que encontrei para o novo álbum do Slayer, maior banda de Thrash Metal do Mundo.

Dave Lombardo definitivamente é mais competente do que o Paul Bostaph que também sempre foi um grande baterista, impressionante como ele continua com a mesma pegada dos anos de ouro da banda e já tem lá seus 40 anos.

Jeff Hanneman e Kerry King continuam a maior dupla de guitarras do Metal, entrosamento perfeito.

O vocal do Tom Araya continua intacto, se você ouvir South Of Heaven da década de 80 e WPB, não vai notar diferença.

Nem vou comentar música por música, até por que é álbum para ouvir de ponta a ponta e repetir, como eu fiz.

Logo quando você coloca “World Painted Blood”, a música de abertura, já nota que é o bom e velho Slayer.

World Painted Blood

I’m wary about metal and the -core genres in general but there are great bands around that are definitely hard-as-nails. Recently, the only one I still listen to a lot is Mastodon, most of my fondness for the genre going further back to straightahead acts like Slayer or reaching out into proggier places and straying too far from the title to be included. Now, with another fantastic metal/hardcore/whatever group from Georgia; Savannah’s Baroness and the release of Blue Record, I think I’ve found another contender for my current favourite record to play obnoxiously loud.

Blue Record plays out with equal parts melodrama and pure passion, combining frequent ’80s guitar tones with the more modern metal sensibilities of grit and unorthodox rhythmic stomp. Much like Mastodon’s output, Baroness retain an interesting sound for their refusal to let any bar pass by without the injection of interesting dynamics (whether from production or instrumental arrangement) and a constant devotion to the creation of deep, sweaty grooves that emerge from under layers of excessive drumming, guitar and bass work. This aesthetic is well employed on Blue Record, creating a varied and consistently engaging experience from start to finish.

Jake Leg is one of the album’s outstanding tracks, opening with a taut set of tom rolls and Middle Eastern guitar licks before briefly venturing into fuzz-psych territory and then opening up into a bleak vista of deep but twitchy pockets. Swollen and Halo’s chord progression and eclectic catalogue of guitar and bass tones is another favourite, opening much like a Grunge Era chart topper and then bridging the pop spectrum to flirt with stinging Queens of the Stone Age guitars or the pulsing, overdriven bass and snare and hi-hat work so characteristic of dance rock. War, Wisdom and Rhyme is yet another great song, featuring choruses draped in static, a solid, rock-out, guitar solo ending and lyrics with massive, shoutalong vocals.

Baroness and Blue Record might come off as either too light for the die hard headbangers and too heavy for the average rocker but, for me at least, it’s a great mixture of abrasive and melodic genre sensibilities. Check it out. It’s, if nothing else, one of the most compelling hard rock records I’ve heard this year.

Negură Bunget nu este obişnuită să cânte în est

În 14 noiembrie am primit comunicatul de presă Negură Bunget în care se anunţa concert la Chişinău în 22 noiembrie (alaltăieri), legat de Rock’n’Iaşi (sâmbătă 21.11).

(se ajunge la Cluj în 9 ianuarie 2010, la Irish & Music Pub).

Între timp am primit o informaţie pe net şi am povestit cu organizatorul de la Chişinău (Slayer) despre concertul care nu a mai avut loc.

Om de cuvânt, şi respectat pentru activitatea lui de organizator de spectacole de metale (grele de tot) la Chişinău, Slayer este Moldovean de origine ucrainiană. Rusofil, organizează de obicei concerte cu trupe dure din Rusia la Chişinău, cu mici excepţii de limbă română, cum ar fi fost şi Negură Bunget, pe care doreşte să o aducă la Chişinău de cel puţin trei ani de zile, de când am avut ocazia să colaborez prima dată cu el. Cu aprobarea lui, am preluat următoarea declaraţie publică, scrisă integral de el, care a apărut prima dată la websaitul muzical nr. 1 din Moldova transpruteană (găsiţi weblink la final).

23 Noiembrie, 2009

Duminică, 22 noiembrie, în Chişinău trebuia să susţină concert una din cele mai iubite trupe metal de pe meleagurile noastre (Republica Moldova), este vorba de Negură Bunget (România). Trupa a fost aşteptată de publicul autohton de ceva ani buni, în sfârşit concertul a fost anunţat şi ziua acestuia a venit.
Interesul major pentru acest concert a adus câteva sute bune de oameni în faţa clubului Faraon, dar după lungi aşteptări (în jur de 3 ore!), a fost anunţată anularea concertului.
Aceasta este versiunea organizatorului de la Chişinău, cunoscut de toţi ca Slayer.

Introducere

Înţelegerea cu privire la organizarea unui concert a formaţiei româneşti la Chişinău a fost efectuată pe 4 noiembrie, după ce am aflat că ei vor susţine un concert pe 21 noiembrie la Iaşi. Am avut un acord de mult timp ce ţine de organizarea în capitala noastră (Chişinău) a unui concert, astfel le-am propus ca pe 22 noiembrie în sfîrşit să aibă loc acest eveniment. Au fost de acord imediat, fără nici o problemă. Au spus că vor veni cu transportul propriu şi cu actele va fi totul în regulă. Cu câteva zile înainte de concert am decis să ne înţelegem despre ora sosirii lor la Chişinău; ei au zis că vor fi în oraş la ora 16:00. Având în vedere începerea concertului la ora 17:00, am rămas surprins, dar managerul trupei (care este totodată baterist în formaţie), m-a asigurat că totul va fi bine, spunând că ei vin cu instrumentele şi inginerul de sunet propriu, astfel rapid vor face proba de sunet. În profesionalismul trupei nu am avut nici o îndoială, dar din experienţa amară în organizarea altor concerte, ştiu că este nevoie de un timp de rezervă. Astfel i-am scris băieţilor să fie la Chişinău la ora 13:00, iar când vor trece frontiera să-mi trimită un sms să ştiu că totul e bine. Negură Bunget a spus că nu vor fi probleme şi că aşa vor face.

22 noiembrie. Ziua concertului.

La ora 13:00, formaţia trebuia să fie la Chişinău; am decis să le scriu un sms să aflu care este situaţia, deoarece nu am primit mesajul de confirmare legat de trecerea frontierei. La 13:05 am primit răspuns de la ei, “we are at the border Sculeni, but there are some problems. We might have to turn back to Iaşi, to leave our trailer there and come back”. Imediat i-am sunat pentru a afla ce fel de problemă au, şi la care dintre vămi se află, moldovenească sau românească. Negru, bateristul de la Negură Bunget, mi-a spus că sunt la vama românească şi au probleme cu documentaţia pentru trailer, aşa că se întorc la Iaşi, lasă acolo trailerul şi revin în jumătate de oră. Am zis ca e ok, şi voi aştepta ştiri de al ei. Am început imediat să înţeleg că băieţii vor sosi la Chişinău nu mai devreme de 16:00, astfel am chemat trupa din deschidere să facă proba de sunet mai devreme. În loc de cele 30 de minute promise, primesc un sms de la Negură Bunget peste 1h30min., şi anume la 14:35, unde a fost scris: “Hi. Sorry, we cannot pass the border, they asked us for some extra papers for the bus, which we don’t have with us”. Am sunat Negură Bunget pentru detalii, mi-au spus că vameşii din partea Moldovei i-au reţinut din cauză unor probleme cu actele, astfel trupa se întoarce înapoi în România. Le-am spus să aştepte la vamă, voi încerca să rezolv problema, credeam că vameşii pur şi simplu tergiversează trecerea lor. Am sunat unei persoane de la departamentul vamal, să aflu care este problema. La 15:00 am fost sunat de persoana respectivă şi am aflat că problema este una gravă şi nu este un fleac, pur şi simplu documentele microbuzului care a fost luat în arendă nu sunt în regulă, şi nici nu au la mână originalul procurii, dar au un xerox a acesteia. Asta ar fi cum ai trece graniţa cu xeroxul buletinului de identitate. Am sunat formaţia şi i-am propus să lase acolo microbuzul şi să vină cu un alt transport obişnuit; ei au refuzat. Atunci le-am spus să mă aştepte la graniţă. La 15:30, m-am pornit spre vamă cu un prieten. Când plecam din oraş am mai sunat formaţia pentru a încerca să îi lămuresc să încerce să rezolve singuri problema, poate cu o amendă sau o şpagă, pentru a nu pierde timpul. Ei au refuzat, cică nu sunt obişnuiţi cu astfel de situaţii, şi mai bine să vin eu să rezolv totul. De la Chişinău la Sculeni sunt 110 km, cam 1 oră şi 30 minute (drumurile din moldova sunt la fel cum erau drumurile la noi la începutul anilor 1990) … Acum eu conştientizez faptul că se va amâna începerea concertului. Atunci mi-a venit o idee, să luam un microbuz moldovenesc care va transporta formaţia cu toată aparatura. În 10 minute am găsit mijlocul de transport potrivit şi la 16:30 am fost la vamă. Imediat am sunat la Negură Bunget şi am zis să adune sculele şi să urce toţi în microbuz, în afară de şofer (care este solistul trupei). Pe el urma să-l luăm peste 20-30 minute cu maşina noastră. Negru a zis că ei mai bine ne aşteaptă, poate rezolvăm situaţia şi ei vor veni cu transportul propriu. La 17:10 am ajuns la vamă moldovenească, în acelaşi timp am sunat clubul Faraon şi m-am înţeles că banii de chirie pentru spaţiul clubului va fi prelungită cu o oră sau o oră şi jumătate (la Chişinău se închiriază orice sală sau club sau bar pentru a organiza o cântare; nu există cluburi cu program de concerte!).
Cum am ajuns în vamă am încercat să mă înţeleg cu vameşii, mi-au permis chiar fără documente să trec pe teritoriul vamal, iar microbuzul moldovenesc l-au pus în alt rând pentru a grăbi trecerea aparaturii dintr-o maşină în alta. Nu am reuşit să mă înţeleg cu vameşii, mi-au explicat concret de ce (şi nu era vorba că nu ar fi fost personal de acord, dar legea nu le permitea să lase maşina să treacă, fără actele în original).
Am propus să lăsăm microbuzul la vamă şi pînă la 24:00 să revenim, urmând să urcăm, cu artiştii cu tot, în transportul moldovenesc. Dar este strict interzis să se parcheze maşina la vamă sau între punctele vamale. La ora 18:15, şanse mai erau să ajungem să ţinem concertul la Chişinău, am decis să ducem microbuzul românesc la vama românească. Trupa cu greu a căzut de acord, ştiind că sunt de vină în problema apărută. Am început să încărcăm backline-ul formaţiei în microbuzul moldovenesc, când am aflat că trupa încă nu a înregistrat declaraţia vamală, chiar dacă vameşul nostru le-a reamintit să facă asta de câteva ori. Am mai pierdut 20 minute, iar pe feţele muzicienilor se vedea clar nedorinţa lor de a participa la concert. La 18:40 microbuzul a plecat din vamă cu tot echipamentul şi patru dintre muzicieni. Eu (Slayer) am rămas la vamă, iar prietenul meu a plecat cu ceilalţi doi artişti spre România, pentru a parca acolo microbuzul până la întoarcerea după concert. Astfel Negură Bunget avea să fie în Chişinău cam pe la 20:15, ceea ce era normal, deoarece oamenii erau dornici să-i vadă Live. Am sunat la club şi spun să dea voie publicului să între peste 15 min., însă peste 5 minute mă sună şoferul microbuzului moldovenesc şi zice că cei patru artişti care sunt cu el insistă să se întoarcă înapoi, deoarece ceilalţi i-au sunat şi le-a spus ceva … Sun pe prietenul meu înapoi să aflu care e treaba, şi aflu că ceilalţi doi nu vor să iasă din microbuz, căci nu vor să meargă 200 de metri cu o altă maşină (la ocazie), iar pe jos este interzis să intri în vamă. Astfel, aceştia au decis să-i sune pe ceilalţi, care deja au trecut de oraşul Ungheni (aflat la 20 de km de graniţă) în drum spre Chişinău. La 20:00 ei s-au reîntors în vamă, eu am sunat la Chişinău şi am spus că concertul se anulează.

Nici unul din artişti nu şi-a cerut scuze … nici măcar nu au spus cuvinte de rămas bun … de fapt nici nu ne-am salutat. În tot acest timp băieţii erau în microbuz şi vorbeau cât e de proastă organizarea concertelor la noi în Moldova. Au zis că problema e în birocraţia ţării noastre şi asta e cauza principală pentru amânarea concertului; eu (Slayer) am rămas şocat.
Concluzia este una simplă … a fost public la Chişinău care s-a adunat şi din alte oraşe din Republica Moldova … aiurea … şi au aşteptat peste 2 ore afară! Eu îmi cer scuze pentru asta. Am stat două ore la vamă, în frig, îmbrăcat într-un simplu tricou, şi ştiu că la intrarea în club mulţi mă făceau de rahat.
Vă zic sincer că am pierdut bani; am achitat clubul şi o parte din instalaţia de sunet şi chiria microbuzului cu care m-am dus să întâmpin formaţia în vamă.
Să credem că totul are un scop bun, deoarece orice nu ne ucide – ne face mai puternici.

Este posibil ca Negură Bunget să vină în Moldova, am propus lui Negru când vor fi aproape de Moldova să cânte totuşi, cu ceva reducere… el a fost de acord.

Canciones con mucha caña y directas como puñetazos es lo que nos encontraremos en su reciente disco “World Painted Blood”. Además de una producción muy ochentera, sin grandes “retoques” de producción.

En resumen: una bestialidad que se han marcado Araya y los suyos.

While it isn’t exactly the mega historic tour featuring the big four (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax) everyone was gossiping about, getting half of that lineup is still pretty unbelievable. Tickets officially went on sale last week for the American Carnage Tour featuring Slayer, Megadeth and Testament. The landmark tour will be taking place this coming January and February. Slayer and Megadeth already did the unthinkable by performing together (despite their slew of heated words for one another) on mini tours in Canada and Australia/New Zealand. So we can thank god that they are giving U.S. fans the chance to see both thrash titans share the stage once again. I myself have already purchased my ticket for their stop in Lowell, MA on February 14 (best part: I only spent a little above $10 for good seats!!! Haha).

Seeing Megadeth and Slayer on their own (let alone together) is enough to make fans storm to a venue. Combine the two with Testament … well HELLZ YEAH! As amazing as this lineup is though, I personally would have liked to have seen one more act added. Not that this line up needs another act to make it any better (umm, did I tell you that Megadeth, Slayer and Testament are playing together?!). However, it would be cool to see the elder gods of metal pass the torch to an up and coming metal band, as a way to put the spotlight on the future of metal.

So who should be the fourth addition who represents the new generation amongst a line up of legends? Well here are a few suggestions of likely candidates and bands I simply would love to see added:

-Machine Head: These guys would probably be everyone’s first choice for multiple reasons. 1. Machine Head already took part in Slayer and Megadeth’s previous tours. 2. Both Slayer and Megadeth have praised them not stop for their greatness. 3. fans simply cannot get enough of them (rightfully so) And 4. to simply put it: THEY ARE AWSOME!!! The only reason why they probably wouldn’t take part in this tour is because they have been touring non-stop for the past 3 years (you name the band, they probably were on tour with them recently). As much as I love The Blackening, I’d recommend that the band takes a tiny rest and record another great album. The more music from Machine Head the better!

-Shadows Fall: These guys would probably be one of my first choices. Hot off of their latest release Retribution, the boys from Mass have proven that they are ready to be the next big metal icons. Being part of such a major tour would be great exposure to a band who put on a top-notch show and have grown as musicians and song writers. Hopefully the band will get on Mayhem Fest next year (maybe we could also start a campaign to get them on this tour? I’d be down to push!).

-Suicide Silence: These guys would be a likely choice because they also served as openers (along with Machine Head) on Slayer and Megadeth’s previous tours this past year. They are an up and coming band who has received both critical and fan praise for their music and live show.

-God Forbid: Call me biased, but I would love to see my fellow NJ thrashers on such a line up. Not only do they put on an energy packed show, but they have continue to grow musically (I dare you to listen to their latest release Earthsblood and tell me it isn’t spectacular). God Forbid is a band that should be amongst the top of their generation (always just shy of getting the rightful exposure), and being a part of this tour would help get them there faster.

-Devildriver: Mixing melody with hardcore death metal, Devildriver has always stood out amongst the crowd. Always releasing incredible albums (listen to their recent release Pray For Villains asap!), they have always been just shy of getting the exposure they deserve. With their intense live shows, Devildriver would have made a great addition to an already amazing tour. Sadly, these guys will definitely not be apart of this tour for they just announced a tour with Suffocation that will occur during the same time. A shame, but hell: a Devildriver and Suffocation tour is pretty awesome as well!!!

-High On Fire: These guys are also likely candidates for being a late addition since they were rumored to be on the lineup before the American Carnage tour was confirmed (only to not be included in the official press release). While they wouldn’t be my first choice, High On Fire are a great band and know how to put on a hell of a show. Plus, with their sludge metal sound, the band would stand out in a lineup filled with thrash metal.

-Trivium: Admit it, once you saw the name in front of this you screamed out loud “Oh Hell Yeah!”. Trivium’s mix of screaming and melodic thrash would be a perfect addition to this tour (maybe too perfect if that’s possible). Add in their powerful performance (see my review of their show in Worcester, MA) and you’d get even the pickiest old metal fans believing they saw the second coming. As perfect as this may seem, this addition may be unlikely for Trivium announced the most recent leg of Into The Mouth Of Hell We Tour as their last tour in support of the album Shogun. Then again, I would probably change around my schedule if I got offered to open for Slayer AND Megadeth.

-The Black Dahlia Murder: After seeing them on Mayhem Fest this past summer, I have been hooked. Black Dahlia Murder’s music and performance would simply make them a great addition to such a lineup. ENOUGH SAID!

-Chimaira: The boys from Cleveland, Ohio would tear the stage apart night after night (see my review of their opening slot at Trivium’s show for more on their awsome live performance). With its mix of sludge and hardcore, Chimaira would stand out amongst the lineup of legends. Additionally, Slayer guitarist Kerry King has praised them many times over the past few years (thus making their chances a lot stronger).

So these are who I would suggest to be the new addition to an already amazing bill. To repeat, I am not saying that the American Carnage Tour needs to acquire an additional band (the three thrash gods are wwaayy more than enough). I am just saying it would be cool to see a newer band get the chance to be exposed to a wider audience.

Todo mundo sabe (tá, todo mundo não, só os metaleiros por dentro das fofocas) da antiga “rixa” entre Megadeth e Slayer. E todo mundo já tá careca de saber que Dave Mustaine e Kerry King se amam, mas esse ano o amor pegou fogo quando eles saíram juntos em turnê no Canadá (a Canadian Carnage) e irá entrar em combustão ano que vem quando iniciarem a American Carnage, que conta com o Testament de brinde.

Todo mundo especulou sobre uma turnê dos “Big Four” do Thrash Metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer e Anthrax), o que não rolou, mas essa turnê vai ser foda de qualquer jeito (pena que não pretendem nem passar pela fronteira do México).

I finally got around to getting 70 strength, a kind of goal I have had for quite a while. I stayed at 42 for a very long time, until I needed a combined attack and Strength of 130 for the While Guthix Sleeps quest. I was very happy with my f2p combat level of 82 wearing my quest cape.

I recently got it to 69 to complete Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf, and though that with the 30k completion bonus it was close enough to 70 that I should probably just get it and start carrying a whip. Today’s first slayer task was kurasks, so I grabbed my trusty rusty leaf bladed sword and headed out to the rellekka slayer caves. Am I the only one who noticed that slayers on 114, the skilling world ,seem rude? A second slayer came in and stood next to me. I asked if he minded moving, and was ignored. Then another showed up. Same. By that point I had got my 70 str and just teleported out to grab mage gear, even though kurask tasks definately do not pay to maging.

Instead of duking it out with them again, I just hopped servers. The second hop found me in the cave with the kurasks to myself. Sure enough, in a short while, another slayer comes in and decided to slay right in front of the entrance where I am maging. Again, “Do you mind moving to the far side?”

He replied, “I kill them slow so there will be a spawn.” You know what? It isn’t the spawn I was thinking about, it was his aggro drawing them all away from me. In true karmic destiny, they started really nailing him. His bunyip couldn’t keep up and all of the sudden they hit 2 maxes in a row and he died, getting what he deserved. I ran over and read the gravestone: Here lies xyz196. Surprisingly it was just a wooden one. I can’t believe people still have those.

He was able to run back and grab his stuff just as it collapsed, I think he got most of it. Had he just been a bit more accomodating, I would have been happy to repair it. While there I mentioned that it was karma, and of all things I he asked why I was mean to him. I guess some people will never learn.

I often claim I have no regrets. This is still true, but I do often recognize I was rather short sighted or stupid when I opened my mouth and said the completely wrong thing.

A prime example of this would be when I heard my friend Van was writing a graphic novel about Pinocchio as a vampire slayer. He mentioned this idea to me, in the apartment he and his lovely wife share, and I think I laughed at him for 5 minutes, and then asked what he was really working on. When he confirmed he had not actually been joking with the Pinocchio thing, I laughed even harder. That was a little over a year ago, and what has Van done in the mean time? He and his artist partner Dusty Higgins have brought Van’s dream to us in a one of the best graphic novels I’ve read in quite some time. Granted, most of my graphic novel days are behind me, but at one time I was a bit of a fanatic about them, and yet amongst the many I have read, this one truly stands out and is easy to praise.

The graphic novel is not what you think. The idea sounds crazy right? Well…if you are willing to read the entertaining mini-review of the original version Pinocchio that the comic provides, in which you realize that Disney really just seemed to use a few characters and plot points to create their version, the concept is a little bit easier to understand. The original tale of Pinocchio is much darker, like many of the fairy tales Disney retold, and the graphic novel focuses on this darkness throughout the entire piece. This is obvious from the very first image of Pinocchio we see, he has haunted and cautious eyes, and of course a sharp, gnarled, and deadly nose. The initial dialogue beautifully identifies him as the tortured vampire slayer that is fueled by his desire to avenge the death of his father, and yet, despite all this darkness, the authors use the premise to give us some much needed humor. The dark brooding of Pinocchio is exquisitely balanced with the wisecracking humor of Pinocchio’s friends. The most memorable example of this for me, is that when bunnies give Pinocchio cryptic clues, by saying “Friends of yours. Attacked. Blood and Destruction. Are Near” which would not be overly helpful, Cricket is able to easily deduce what they are saying based on the process of elimination. So the exchange goes like this :

Pinocchio: What danger?

Cryptic Bunnies: Friends of yours. Attacked. Blood and Destruction. Are Near.

Pinocchio: Attack? Where? Who? Could you be a little less cryptic?

Cricket: Cherry’s house.

Pinocchio: What? How d-.. How did you get Cherry’s from all that?

Cricket: Come on. You don’t exactly have a lot of friends.

For some odd reason, this had me laughing out loud….in a restaurant. This is but one example of the brilliance that this graphic novel holds. I highly suggest you get your copy today! If you enjoyed it as much as I did, you’ll probably be giving some people a copy as a holiday gift like I am. What better way to prove to the kiddies you’re still cool and with it, than to give them something like this? I just hope Van and Dusty Higgins make another!

I would also like to say to Van one thing: Seriously, I am sorry I ever doubted you on this. If you ever tell me you are turning “The Swan Princess” into a graphic-novel where she solves mysteries, I want in on the ground floor!!!

Ok so I am a little obsessed with Slayer’s new album World Painted Blood. I’ve played Playing with Dolls over and over and over again. There’s something about the lyrics and melody that really strikes a chord (yeah yeah) within me. It’s dark, haunting and profoundly disturbing  – right up my alley. It’s a taste I’ll have to explain sometime later. Anywho, I think I’ve just found my no.1 Slayer piece. Not exactly the type of band you’d imagine a vegan to be listening to, but I guess I’ve never been one for stereotypes. I’ve made it clear on one of my earlier posts about how much Slayer means to me, so I’ll spare the rave. Suffice to say I’m listening to the abovementioned song now, so be warned that it may influence the tone of this post. I’m also listening to a great Aussie band from Adelaide called Virgin Black. Wonderful stuff. I’m enamoured with The Everlasting from VB’s album Elegant…and Dying (14.11min into The Everlasting is what it’s all about). Am listening to it on top of Playing with Dolls. So it’s a double dose of darkness!

I suppose I should talk about the pregnancy….but naaaaa, here’s another awesome song from Virgin Black

I’ve wondered if my metal music will rub off on our child in time to come. It’s possible, though not entirely probable. The problem with being the only person in the household to listen to metal is that I can’t play my stuff when other people are around, i.e. my wife. From complaints to headaches to sheer discomfort, my taste in metal has confined me to isolation. Only when I have the apartment to myself, am in the car by myself, or have my ipod switched on, can I enjoy artists like Slayer, VB and Rammstein.  O’ course my wife hasn’t been the only one to have an issue with my metal; Friends and family alike have had their grief with my choice of music. Sometimes my D&D buddies tolerate a bit of Rammstein and Skinlab, but they see it as joke, paying out the lyrics from pieces like Mutter (below), changing it to ‘Butter’…. admittedly Rammstein’s new song called ‘Pussy’ doesn’t help very much.

I’m sure that there’ll be moments during my child’s development that I’ll have the opportunity to play him/her stuff that I grew up with that changed me in some way, and maybe they’ll come to appreciate, if not like, some of the stuff they hear. Then again, maybe they’ll just slap their hands over their ears and cry out “da-a-aaaaad!?” Hmm, maybe the key is to get in early. I know a couple who have been playing metal to their babe as soon as he was born, so I’m keen to see what his musical choices are when he gets bigger. Also helps if both mother and father are into metal. Aaaaanyways.

In other news, my wife’s belly has grown noticeably larger in the past week. At first I dismissed it as nothing more than bloating, but nope, her belly has retained its shape for a number of days now. Makes me all gushy it does (yeah, metal is really influencing the tone of this post ) I seriously can’t wait until the next ultrasound. Both K and I feel that the pregnancy is moving along too slowly. Partly because we’re impatient to see K end up with a moon for a stomach, and partly because K wants to get over the pregnancy tiredeness and enjoy the fruits of the second trimester. Ah the famed honeymoon period of the second trimester: A time when my wife is supposed to glow, be merry, and be bouncing with energy. Supposed to. Hurry up second trimester and shower my wife with your goodness!

I’m not sure if it’s entirely the pregnancy that is responsible for my wife’s tiredness, or the fact that she’s been working near a six day week for a few months now. Either way I hope our upcoming holiday down south will help chillax my overtired Special K. It’s supposed to be a 30th birthday present from my wife, but I feel that this break will do more good for my wife than I – which is what I want. Luckily for K things are starting to quieten down as Christmas approaches, so it may turn out that she won’t have to work so hard. I think she said that she won’t have to work a Saturday for the rest of the year? If that’s correct, then yay for Special K!

Methinks it’s time to crash into bed. The weather has cooled down a little, so there’s a chance that I might get to sleep! While I LOVE the heat, I don’t fare well at night. Normally I’m a furnace, so most of the time I barely need sheets/clothing. I think for a large part of winter I only used a doona. Anywho, in summer I go from a furnace to a blazing sun. I’m amazed I haven’t succumbed to spontaneous Human Combustion!

Heat aside, I’m looking forward to seeing my niece (of five weeks) tomorrow! The sooner I go to bed the sooner I see her   A week ago the wife and I visited my sister and her family (awww she has her very own family now). While we we there I was given the distinct privilege of changing my niece’s dirty nappies. Boy did she leave me a nice present. Did you know that it’s not unsual for babies to not crap for a number of days and not count as being constipated? What was memorable about this experience (being my first time changing a nappy) was that while I was cleaning my niece up, she decided she wasn’t finished. You guessed it, more crap! (and green, too!) So I waited until she was finished and began wiping once more…..until my darling little niece thought she was playing a game and crapped in my hands. Apparently it was so hilarious to my sister and brother-in-law that they decided to record it on video. I tried again to clean the little bubby, but no, she still wasn’t finished! It seemed every time I began to wipe she had more to give me. This process repeated itself at least three more times. Two nappies and a bazillion wipes later, I succeeded in my task. My sister remarked that my niece hadn’t ever crapped like that before. Who knew that babies could produce so much shit? O.o

Welp, tomorrow we’ll see a rematch, and I’ll know for sure if last time was a freak occurance or that my niece actually has an instinctive need to give her uncle plenty of shit. By my duty as a casual blogger, I shall report the outcome in a day’ or two. In the meantime, I’ve changed the mood of music I’ve been playing to something considerably more upbeat. Every time I listen to the below piece I can’t help but wanna dance (and shuffle, if I knew how). I think it’s a good song to end the day or psych someone up before they’re about to have a night of partying, and I’d be more than pleased to wake up tomorrow morning to have this song repeat itself in my head all day long (which is what often happens to me with music).

I’ve been slaying a lot again lately, after a one week break. Combined with occasional Dag king trips it should hopefully make me some decent money to fix my rapidly emptying bank. I was left with just guthans, fury, whip, slayer mask and a bunch of glories.. Basically because I spend most of my money on skills, something I’ve decided to stop doing. Not because I don’t want to get them up anymore, but because I’m tired of always beeing poor. I’ll be focussing on making some decent bankvalue first, and only after that making more to train my skills up further.

Besides wanting the money, I also want a skill to be proud of – so I’m gonna work on at least 15m slayer xp, something that shouldn’t take to long to achieve. After that I’ll probs keep slaying more tho.
