Lebih baik lagi yang lapisan bawah dan cat yang sebenarnya harus berasal dari Sepatu Murah produsen yang sama untuk mencapai konsistensi hasil. Biarkan lapisan bawah kering dan gosok dengan kertas pasir. Menggunakan kain menghilangkan debu dan menyiapkan pintu Sepatu Bola untuk mantel terakhir.

Akhirnya bagian atas mantel. Perhatian terhadap detail harus diperhatikan. Lukisan pintu panel tidak sesederhana smudging krayon ke dalam kertas.

Ada beberapa panel dan daerah di pintu. Memilih salah satu dari ini sebagai titik awal bagi mantel atas tidak benar-benar sebuah ide yang bagus. So far in Mark Sanchez’s career, I have hated him. I mean, he came from USC and represented everything I hate in a player. Ever since his hot start to the season, he has sucked, and i mean, SUCKED. Recently, he has been just ripped. Not for turning the ball over with enough efficiency to make Jets fans reconsider trading Brooks Bollinger, but for not sliding.

Yes, quarterbacks should slide when they run towards defensive players, who when given a chance, will make fight club seem like a walk in the park. However, what quarterbacks in the NFL actually slide? Honestly, outside of Drew Hensen, I don’t know that there is a quarterback in the NFL that can slide. From all the Giants games I have seen, whenever Eli Manning scrambles he goes to the ground more awkwardly than Kyle Orton’s first trip to third base.

Most quarterbacks can avoid getting criticism because they run to the sidelines and never run straight ahead, that actually sounds pretty smart.

I will give Sanchez the benefit of the doubt here. I love how this guy is diving head first for first downs when his team is fighting for a playoff spot. Quarterbacks who put their ass on the line only move up a notch in my book. Think about John Elway’s career, do we really remember him scrambling in for touchdowns in big spots? No, I think we all remember him for jumping up in the super bowl and getting demolished in order to get a first down. Not a touchdown, a first down.

On a side note, I agree that in order for your team to win you can’t allow your quarterback to get hurt trying to pick up an extra yard or two. But aren’t the current NFL rules set up to promote this type of behavior? If Sanchez is falling to the ground  instead of sliding there is a better chance that a linebacker will try and make fight club look like a Disney film. Any time a quarterback is hit hard it’s a 15-yard penalty, so don’t get your panties in a bunch just yet. Keep doing what it takes to win games Mark Sanchez, you’re a 20-year old kid who should at least be as tough as possible right now to keep the fans on your side.

Can I also take a minute to criticize the Jets as an organization? Bringing in Joe Girardi to teach Sanchez how to slide is a bit much. If you can get the manager of the world champion New York Yankees to come in and coach Sanchez, then obviously you are sparing no expense and can grab anyone imaginable. Therefore, have you missed out on the infomercials that have dominated the tri-state area over the past decade. How do you not get Tom Emanski in there to teach the fundamentals that your organization strives for. The guy won back-to back-to back AAU national championships for christ sake.

Tips for Staying Alive

Deer

You might be amused to see ‘deer’ included in dangerous wildlife.  However, they can be extremely dangerous.

See my previous story: “Amazing Info of 2008: Published by (Gasp) Others!”  Read about Randy Goodman (bottom half of the article), who learned  about “UN-dead” deer the hard way!

You Should…

Be cautious around a deer that is down.  Make sure he is really dead.  After making various other tests … the gold standard is:  If you can touch a deer’s eye, he’s dead.

Things That May Cause Deer to Attack

• Being startled
• Rutting

How You Can Stay Safe

• If you’re not hunting, make noise while moving
• During rutting,  stay out-of-the-way and near cover

If a Deer is Coming AT You

• Stop because he will run away if he can
• If you’re attacked, run and find some cover
• Hitting, kicking and yelling is a  (poor 3rd) and least-helpful choice

You Should…

• Avoid areas where mountain lions are known to live
• Be careful around areas with steep, wooded land
• Watch yourself in bushy, rocky land

Things That May Cause Mountain Lion to Attack

• If their young are nearby
• If the cat is wounded
• If the cat is hungry
• If you are running away like his usual prey would

How You Can Stay Safe

• Don’t approach a lion kill (unless you want to be dessert)
• Don’t approach ANY mountain lion
• Don’t decide to break in your new jogging shoes in lion country!

If a Mountain Lion is Coming AT You

• Stop
• Do NOT make eye contact with lion
• Make yourself look “big” and yell loudly (Your TARZAN yell might work). Be sure to beat your chest!
• If attacked, this is no time to fight back …
• Instead, curl up to protect your vital organs
• Yell, hit and kick … only as (a poor and) a last choice!

Like Father Like Son.  Yup, Delaney is a chip off the old block, especially when it comes to his ability to put himself in a doctors office or better yet, an Emergency Room.  And that`s exactly where he ended up Sunday afternoon after a very brief but somewhat eventful trip to the local sliding haunt here in Yellowknife, Bristol Pit.

It was about 3:00pm Sunday afternoon, the kids had finished up Squash, and were starting to get on each other`s nerves around the house (not to mention getting on ours too!!).  We decided to take them sliding at Bristol Pit, and they were quite eager to do so.  So I inflated their new double-slide, which Flo had recently picked up at Wal Mart.  After about 10 minutes we were ready to head out.

Upon arriving at Bristol Pit, it was clear there weren`t many others out.  I assumed it was because of the time and being quite late in the afternoon also assumed that most people had left for the day.  And there was plenty of evidence to indicate that others had been out sliding and snowboarding that day.  So the boys gear up, jump on the double slide and off they go.  Not 20 feet down, they both roll over and Cace decides he`s had enough for the day.  He wasn`t pleased at all.  Said we shouldn`t have forced to them go sliding!!  Go figure….

Delaney decided he was going to go down by himself.  So he hopped on, and off he went.  About the same 20 feet down the hill, he started to veer off to the right, and quickly got into `rough` patch.  The slide went out from under him and he went bouncing along the edge of the trail.  Then he started SCREAMING like nothing you`d heard before.  I took off down the hill and looked him over.  He was HOWLING.  After about 5 minutes he calmed down, I got him back to the truck, and then we headed home.  Once there, did a quick triage, and decided to call the neighbour who`s a RN and figured she could settle him down and confirm nothing was broken.  10 minutes later, Flo and Delaney arrive at the door, preparing to head to Hospital on RN neighbour`s advice. 

An hour+ later they both return, with Delaney`s left arm in a cast.  Apparently the bang his hand took was enough to FRACTURE the bone which connects the thumb to the wrist and hand.  Casted up, he`s good for 2.5-3 weeks before having to go back for follow up XRays.

Like I said… LIKE FATHER LIKE SON.  For those of you that knew me when I was young, you`ll find great humor and truthfulness in that statement!

When I first saw these photos on Dwell, I immediately was intrigued by the look.  It was one of those lust at first sight sort of things, my heart skipped a beat and the whole nine yards.  After taking some time and actually studying the photos I realized that not only was is lust, but it was bigger…it was LOVE.  This design by Jeff Sand hits on the head SO many things that I believe make up a well put together interior.  First and foremost is simplicity.  I have said it a hundred times and will again and again, simplicity rocks my world.  The lines are clean.  The feel is eclectic modern meets country kitchen and the line that denotes where one aesthetic begins and one ends is blended seamlessly.  The juxtaposition of materials, from different eras and feels is a wonderful touch!  Now to look more closely at this sweet space!

 

FRONT ELEVATION

 

 Continuing by looking down the kitchen hall we are greeted by an old butchers block serving as an island and adding more warmth into the space and beautiful stacked stainless steel ovens.  The storage on top of the ovens is a great idea to utilize space as well as the pull out drawers under the counter (see Space article).  The fridge to the right completes the perfect balance of color and textile in the kitchen as well as creating a perfect NKBA work triangle!

DINING/STUDY AREA

At the other end of the kitchen sits a great dining/study area.  With natural light pouring in, how could you resist pouring yourself some tea and eating some crackers while reading a book?!  The eclectic-ness of the kitchen is continued to the table by coupling wood seated and backed chairs with a modern industrial fold to them and a brushed metal table.  The chalkboard painted wall area behind the table creates a great texture and perfect charcoal color while adding functionality to the room.

CABINETS UP CLOSE

The alternating cabinets allow for great intrigue and aesthetics as well as versatility in what you are storing.  Don’t you hate it when your large bowl is just slight TOO large to fit in the lower cabinet?  This way you have different height variations you can play with while keeping the alternating cabinets.

All in all the kitchen holds a space to have different aesthetics, ears, traditions and design all in one area.  The ingenuity of the design and creative space use gets a tip of my hat and the overall feel and balance of the room get a full on high five….and of course a smile.
