One R&B singer that never seems to make a bad record is Donell Jones.

Still sounding like he just came out in the late 90s, Donell Jones has dropped “Strip Club” to add to your slow jam bangers collection. Featuring Yung Joc, this one half sensual one half naughty track will be on his upcoming album “Lyrics.”  Me likey the song.

THIS is the Trey Songz that I became a fan of; how I missed this song is beyond me. Oh wait, I remember…that rachet “Bottoms Up” track is getting airplay instead of this!!!

“Can’t Be Friends” is the second single off of Trey Songz upcoming album, “Passion, Pain and Pleasure” and is produced by Mario Winans. The slow, somber groove is a situation that anyone in the love department has gone through – two people who break up but still have strong feelings, so strong that friendship is out of the question. I mean my current situation, I’m not even in LOVE with this cat daddy but I can’t be friends with him cause of the feelings factor. Feelings are wack yo…*sigh*  Anyways, kudos to Trey for giving me a hope in great R&B track.

“Kings of Crunk” came out late 2002 and I can remember in college how this was played all the time.  Not only did it have crunk tracks to make you wild out and fight a bitch, it also had a few smooth cuts (sans Lil Jon & East Side Boyz screaming). One of my favorite songs was “Ooh Na Na Naa Naa,” that featured singer Oobie and Devin the Dude. Oobie was one of those chicks with soft, somewhat innocent vocal style but lyrically was mad freaky/nasty. She gets thumbs up from me. Plus all that freaky talk is JUST RIGHT for Devin the Dude. If you never heard any of his music, you truly missing out.

Tank premiered the video today for his ultra sexy song “Sex Music” and after watching it…yeah this is my shit right now. The video is very sexy, very glam and Tank is looking sexy as usual. This is definitely one of those songs that I would love to dance (aka grind) when it comes on in the club.

“Sex Music” is Tank’s first single off of his upcoming album, “Now or Never.”  The track is a nice somewhat upbeat grindfest, where I don’t care that he’s using some autotune. Mainly because Tank is fine as fuck….the way he says “oh thats my shit” makes my vagina smile and cry tears of joy. I definately will be adding this to my “all sex everything” playlist.

Usher premiered today the video for his very sexy “There Goes My Baby” off of his current album “Raymond vs Raymond.”  The video is very “meh” to me; I was expecting something more sexy and steamy to go with the song. Instead the video somewhat reminds me of Micheal Jackson’s “In The Closet” video, sans the desert and the white clothes. Don’t ask me why, it just does.

“Love All Over Me” by Monica

I am absolutely LOVING this song!!!

“Love All Over Me” is the second single off of Monica’s current album “Still Standing.”  Co-produced by Brian Micheal Cox and Jermaine Dupri, this slow jam gives that vibe of 90s R&B, where power ballads were sung over sensual production. Monica definitely has the vocal pipes to carry this song, and she makes me believe the feelings of being in love with someone so much you can’t even think straight.  I envision this to be on alot of slow jam mixes ( including mine).

“Softly Softly” by Sweetback ft. Maxwell

Who is Sweetback you may ask?!

Well if you love Sade then you love Sweetback; they are the band mates that back up the classic Sade. In 1996 Sweetback released the album of the same name, with music filled with jazz, blues, funk and R&B all mixed together. Cop it if you don’t have it; its definitely an album to have.

One of the gems on the album is “Softly, Softly” that features lead and background vocals of Maxwell. The band’s slow, raw and organic instruments go hand and hand with Maxwell’s vocals; me talking about it doesn’t do any justice on the entire emotion of this song.  If you make any babies because of this track, I totally understand.

“I’m In Love” by Mary J. Blige

This song will be apart of my wedding, no lie. My future husband will have to comply with this…

Mary J. Blige remade The Gap Band 1979 track “I’m In Love” for her breakthrough 1999 album, “Mary.”  On Mary’s remake, all instruments were done by Chucky Thompson and he did a wonderful job of lifting the original production and making it more crisp without doing any alterations to it.  Mary’s vocals however, give CHILLS down your spine. From start to finish, you truly feel the love that she is singing to her significant other. I can’t wait to sing (well attempt) this song to someone I am in love with.

“Greenlight” by Keri Hilson

“Greenlight” is an unreleased track by Keri Hilson that did not make the final cut for her debut album, “In A Perfect World…” Produced by Polow Da Don, this uptempo, yet quite smooth track has Keri Hilson cooing to her man that he has the “green light” to come over and be intimate with her. What man would turn that down? The track, if it was selected for the album, would have fit perfectly because it had that same overall sound.  I would have put this on the album instead of that horrible “Make Love” song.

One of my favorite off of Xscape’s “Off The Hook” album is  “Like Lovers Do.” Leads are sung by Kandi Burruss and LaTocha Scott over a laid back, quiet storm beat produced by Jermaine Dupri.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do…

“Closer” by Floetry

I will refrain my rant of why these hoes need to get back together for another day and time.

However, we should appreciate all the great music that Floetry has given us the years that they were together.  One of my favorite song by them and one that should be added to you love mix is “Closer.” Produced by Jarod Gosselin, this song off of their last studio album “Flo’Ology,” this song is just so sexy!!!  Sensual, licentious, carnal is just some of the words I have to describe this song.

Mariah Carey – “Babydoll”

Taking advantage of the cold weather ladies and gentleman  – wonderful weather to cuddle up with your boo (or jump-off) and set the mood for some warm loving (or fucking , you preference).

Another addition to your slow jam banger CD mix should be “Babydoll” by Mariah Carey. This is the Mariah Carey that was at the peak of her voice, and the album “Butterfly” is arguably one of her best works. Co-produced by Missy Elliott and Cory Rooney, “Babydoll” incorporates nothing but love and being on “cloud 9.” The production has a “dream-like” feeling that goes well with Mariah’s sharp but cooing vocals.

NEW JAGGED EDGE!!!!! NEW JAGGED EDGE!!!!!!

The group is back with a new sound and now under a new label  – Slip N Slide Records. ”Tip Of My Tongue” is the first single off of their upcoming album, “The Remedy.” Featuring Gucci Mane & label-mate Trina, “Tip Of My Tongue” samples “Moments In Love” by Art of Noise and the bass line with this is CRAZY!! I’m definitely feeling this track alot; mainly because when Jagged Edge was with So So Def, all the music sounded the same with no type of growth. I don’t know how much “growth” they are going to get with Slip N Slide because I don’t know too many R&B artists that come from them, but hey, it’s a first for everything.

“The Remedy” is slated for a 2010 release.

“Soon As I Get Home” needs to be on EVERYONE’S slow jam mix if it isn’t already. This is when Bad Boy Records was in its prime – crazy sampling with Puffy’s “The Hitman” production crew, notably on this record Chucky Thompson. Faith’s silky vocals melts perfectly as she sings about how excited she is to get home to be with her man.  Oh how I wish they made R&B music like this now.

Looks like Willie is putting out music as a solo act; nothing wrong with that. “Sex Conversation” was added to Willie’s Twitter page yesterday and its an ok record, nothing groundbreaking. No word on who produced this, but its a slow jam that is tingled with autotune. It will be a hit though with the ladies because Willie is very easy on the eyes and we already seen the paynus pics, so we know his sex conversation can back up his stroke game.  :)

How can you NOT like Sade? This women is perfection!!!! I could name a multitude of classic songs by her, but it would basically be everything that she has touched.  This song happens to be one of my many favorites by her.

“No Ordinary Love” is not your typical love groove, but its definately a very passionate song. You ever had that person that you love more than life itself, but you two argue all the time? Yet when you to get together its nothing but raw, sexual emotion where you can’t keep your hands off each other?  This is the perfect song…angry but sensual, passionate but hurtful.

Back with some slow jam bangers for your love mixes – here is the ULTRA underrated Teedra Moses’ “Backstroke” off of her 2004 debut album “Complex Simplicity.” As most fans, we are waiting for her “Young Lioness” album to come out but in the meantime, if you do not have “Complex Simplicity” album PLEASE cop it – you will not be dissapointed.

“Backstroke” was produced by Paul Poli and with lush tropical drums and swirling vocals, Ms. Moses purrs to her guy “its something in your backstroke, that keeps me with you.”  Mmmmm, girl I know what you mean!!!

Robin Thicke has appeared with a new track called “Sex Therapy.” Produced by Polow Da Don, “Sex Therapy” is the title track of upcoming album, scheduled for a tentaive 2010 release.

Thicke vocals are very seductive and slinky, and the vocal arragement is abosolutely wonderful; despite the production sounding alot of times in parts like Polow’s beat he did for Ciara’s “Promise.” Overall, I’m def. loving the track.

Here is another underrated track for all you lovers out there. Lathun was signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label, appearing on the classic ”So So Def Bass All Stars” in the 2nd and 3rd volumes. Lathun in 2002 drops “Fortuante” CD, which is despite being a solid album IMO, fell way below the radar.

“Make You My Baby” by R.Kelly

“Make You My Baby” by R. Kelly was on the bootleg version of “Loveland,” which never was released; R.Kelly ended up releasing “Chocolate Factory.”  This song, however was re-made by singer Joe on his album “And Then…”(2003) but his version is NO WHERE near as good as the original.

The bootlegged “Loveland” album is VERY hard to find but its worth it if you do find it; honestly its one of R.Kelly’s best albums besides “TP-2.”

Off the madly slept on 1998 album ”Kim, Keisha and Pam,”  Total’s “Rain” oozes feelings of being cuddled up with your boo; listening to the rain fall on the window and enjoying each other’s body heat. Co- produced by J Dub & Sean “Puffy” Combs, this track is one not to miss on  your slow jam banger cd.

Despite Sisqo’s off the wall hair color and ghey mannerisms at points, no one can deny he was definitely the front runner of the group Dru Hill. In 1999, Sisqo dropped his debut solo album ”Unleash The Dragon,” which spanned the biggest hit the 1999/2000 track, “Thong Song.” Don’t front like you didn’t dance when you heard it on the radio or was humming the words in school.

Off that platinum album, “How Can I Love You Tonight” was this very sexual, steamy track that I’m pretty sure some expected and unexpected pregnancies popped up a few months later. Enjoy this slow jam and add it to your “sex me” CD.

We all know Musiq is known for the simping songs…its at least one on every album. “sobeautiful” was the third single off his forth album “onmyradio” (2008). The album itself wasn’t my favorite Musiq album, but “sobeautiful” is def. the gem off the album.
