Excited to finally have come across this product. The first time I saw someone use this was when I was working with my PR team on our campaign project. One of the girls whipped out her sphere and left me on a search to find my own.

Errand running through Target a couple days ago brought me to find a broad selection of EOS lip balms right at the check- out counter.

I decidedly chose the pink balm, strawberry sorbet, which happens to be a new addition.

The egg- snapped casing is adorable and convenient. The balm is long- lasting, without being gooey. It is obviously scented, but by no means overwhelming.

I purchased mine for a little less than $3. I have seen some individuals post pictures of sets of 3, however, mine in particular was sold individually.

All in all, I love EOS lip balm spheres and plan to buy a few more to place conveniently in my purse desk and other common areas I frequent.

I have always heard great things about products by evolution of smooth, so I was so excited to finally try one of their lip balms! The one I bought was their strawberry sorbet flavored smooth sphere. I purchased mine at target for $2.99.

For starters, I love how you don’t have to touch the lip balm to apply it, and its compact size makes it great for on the go. I plan on keeping this one in my backpack once school starts. Also, this product is 100% natural, and evolution of smooth does not test any of their products on animals- which is awesome since my goal is to solely use cruelty-free cosmetics. It’s a shame more cosmetic companies don’t do the same, and use methods other than animal testing.

I apply the lip balm throughout the day as needed, and within two days of using the product, my lips felt so much smoother!

I highly recommend this lip balm, and even if you’re not a fan of strawberry, it comes in six flavors so there’s something for everyone! In addition to Strawberry Sorbet, the smooth sphere is also available in Summer Fruit, Lemon Drop, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, and Sweet Mint.

Thanks for reading!

We love our eos smooth sphere organic lip balm. Gluten, paraben, petrolatum, phthalate (don’t know what that is, who needs it!) – free. This lip balm glides on clear and is so fun to apply. It doesn’t dry out quickly because it contains vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil. So far we’ve tried “summer fruit”, and it’s delicious!

It would be a great idea to try the “lemon drop” this summer – since it contains spf 15.

It’s obvious from the website, to the packaging, to the tactile simplicity of the smooth sphere, that a lot of care and thought goes into the eos products.

Sold at Shoppers Drug Mart for around $3 Canadian. Or buy it online from the eos website Totally worth it!

translucent fluid, fragrance-free, lips Bioderma Atoderm Lip Balm I may have found my holy grail lip

translucent fluid, fragrance-free, lips

Bioderma Atoderm Lip Balm

I may have found my holy grail lip balm !!

It was yet another accidental purchase. I was trying to purchase another HKD 90 at the Bioderma counter in order to qualify for a HKD 50 discount. I didn’t need anything except for a lip balm. Bioderma had 2 to offer. The other had a strange fragrance so I picked this fragrance-free one.

I have very very chapped lips. When I say very chapped, I mean VERY chapped – chapped enough to send an alert to my brain every 2 hours to check on them with a mirror.

Here are the reasons to love this product :

It absorbs into my lips with little effort. There is no need to massage it in. I can top with lipstick immediately without worrying about lipstick sliding off when I drink and leaving greasy paint on the rim of my cup.

It keeps lips moisturised for at least 4 hours. It was 4 hours since I applied it under my Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge when I had my first meal on the first day I tested it. With some other lip balms, I start hovering my jaw and kneading my lips together within 2 hours – it is a sign my lips are chapped. I have yet to experience this feeling with Bioderma.

It doesn’t leave a trace of ‘mucus’ on the inner edges of my lips. With some other lip balms, white or coloured (with lipstick) ‘mucus’ start forming within 2 hours. Imagine how distracting that would be if you were in a meeting or worse, a date ?

My usage amount

Some comments of lip balms I own or have owned recently so you can judge :

L-R : Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips, EOS Smooth Sphere in Honeysuckle Honeydew, Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment, Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia

Vaseline Lip Essence costs wayyyyy less, but requires massaging in and makes me aware of discomfort on my lips within 2 hours. Leaves a slight trace of ‘mucus’ unless applied very lightly.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips gives a light artificial rosy scent, a healthy rosy tint and costs much less but requires a lot of massaging in and leaves a pink trace of ‘mucus’ all the time.

EOS Smooth Sphere in Honeysuckle Honeydew gives a more matte finish and costs much less, but is less moisturising than Bioderma. The sphere shape makes it bulky to carry but fun to apply. It also carries a pleasant honeydew scent.

Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment defines lip contour (which is especially important to me as my lips look anaemic). Its thick consistency makes it more lush but at the same time more difficult to spread. Occasionally leaves a trace of ‘mucus’ when applied under lipstick (when my lips are in a disaster condition and more product is applied). It is twice the price of Bioderma.

Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia costs slightly less, is almost as moisturising and does not leave ‘mucus’. It’s more convenient because it’s tinted enough to look like lipstick, yet with lip balm properties. The downside is that it leaves you with no choice of lip colour. Exfoliate first, however, if your lips are peeling because the colour accentuates the peeling.

Chanel Hydramax+ is THE BEST lip care product I have ever encountered. It literally melts into and hydrates peeling lips instantly. The lipstick I topped off with looked amazing ! The packaging, however, makes it inconvenient on the go and therefore is best used as a lip treatment at night when you have a cotton bud handy. It’s more than twice the price of Bioderma too.

Overall, Bioderma Atoderm Lip Balm is perfect as a low-maintenance and moisturising day-time lip product for people with peeling lips like me who wears lipstick. Definitely a keep despite the high price.

5 stars

Every Christmas Eve since I can remember, we’ve gathered with my Dad’s side of the famil

Every Christmas Eve since I can remember, we’ve gathered with my Dad’s side of the family for a holiday celebration. One of the most fun annual traditions was opening what we called “stocking gifts” before dinner, followed by the larger gifts after dinner. I put this in quotes because when we started out our “stockings” were actually plastic shopping bags, which eventually evolved into Christmas gift bags, often reused from years prior (we’re green and frugal). As a child, stocking gifts usually included Chapstick, candy and other fun little trinkets. This year things were a little different.

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balms in Summer Fruit and Honeysuckle Honeydew

Being my first year living on the other side of the country, my fiance Chris and I had to celebrate Christmas Eve with my Dad’s family on December 27th and we opened stocking gifts after dinner so the pizza wouldn’t get cold. While the traditions might have changed slightly, they were enjoyed all the same.

I guess by now you’re wondering where Target comes in?

As our traditions have evolved, so has the usual Chapstick. This year in my stocking I received an EOS lip balm smooth sphere and it was love at first sight. The packaging is so fun (who isn’t a sucker for packaging?), but what’s even better is on the inside. I got the Summer Fruit flavor in my stocking, which is totally delicious like a fruity tropical smoothie.

I was even more excited when I realized they sell EOS lip balm for $2.99 at Target and just had to buy another. I picked up the Honeysuckle Honeydew flavor, which is equally sweet and delicious. These lip balms offer a light moisture and a ton of flavor. According to the EOS website they’re 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free and also contain antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil.

The only drawback to these lip balms is that they’re … uhh … a bit awkward to apply. For now these little guys live on my night stand so I can apply them before bed and first thing in the morning. I’m considering keeping one in my car too (at least while it’s not hot out). Application there might make for an interesting rear view mirror show (at stop lights only of course!).

Last week I was at Rite-Aid and in desperate need of a lip balm at that very moment. I used to be a fan of Chapstick, until that dreadful Katy Perry song came out a couple of summers ago, and have been flirting with different brands since then. Up until now, I’ve been using Alba’s Hawaiian lip balm in the pineapple flavor, but I think I’ve found a new love.

Enter the funky shaped eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm. It was sitting at the checkout counter and I bought it on whim instead of the Alba. The simplest thing I can say about this lip balm is that it’s truly amazing. It looks slightly tricky to put on, but it’s just as easy as any other balm. It lasts a long time, and the flavor is great. I picked up the summer fruit, which tastes like peaches and another fruity flavor I can’t place. It also comes in lemon, mint, and honeysuckle honeydew.

For those who care, the balm is USDA certified organic, and is Phthalate-, Paraben-, Petrolatum-, and Gluten-free.

The only downside I can think of is the strange shape of the container. It doesn’t fit well in a pocket, but does all right in a handbag or on a desk.

eos Smooth Sphere lip balm is available at Rite Aid, and costs $3.29.
