“Touch Friends” is a puzzle game that a player touch blocks and remove them without collapsing other sedentary blocks. A player can get higher score if the player can touch blocks and clear the stage without collapsing blocks as soon as possible. A player can play this game with the photos of friends whom the player is following after integrating with Twitter. Of course, a player can play this game with the default blocks if the player do not integrate with Twitter. A player can play this game with the photos of friends who post tweets recently when the player wants to play with them. In this case, the player can check the number of count how many the player touch friends at the High Score menu. Also, the player can tweet the top 5 records into Twitter. Thus, the more a player tweets, the higher the ranking of the player in the friends’ twitter raises.

- Four types of items
A player can get items during playing a game. If the player uses the items, the player can get more score and the degree of game difficulty can increase because some blocks can be added.

- Additional bonus scores about when the player touches friends who have high total count
The number of touching friends will be saved. A player can get additional bonus scores when the player touches friends who have high total count. The more a player plays this game, the higher scores the player can get.

Tip:

1. Just watch the shape of piled blocks and find the blocks that look not to shake other blocks. And then, just touch it carefully without touching others and you can remove it and get some scores.
2. You can remove other blocks even though the blocks don’t move. Key point is that remove the blocks as soon as possible.

You should look forward to next version because you can save all of the record on the server and compare the score with your Twitter friends. Also you can see who touched me.

지난주에 있었던 Web 2.0 Expo NY 09에서 Foursquare의 창업자 Dennis Crowley가 또 흥미로운 10분짜리 발표를 한 것 같아서 소개합니다. 제목은 “Turning the Real World into a Game”.

이 어찌보면 가볍고 단순한 위치기반 모바일 SNS가 조금씩 큰 반향을 일으키고 있죠. 제가 전에 간단히 소개했던 ‘땅따먹기 SNS, Foursqaure’포스팅에도 많은 분들이 관심을 가져주셔서 놀란 일이 있습니다. 이제는 서울까지도 지원하는 것 같고 제게도 많은 분들이 친구신청을 해주고 계십니다. (사실 전 그렇게까지 열심히 안쓰는데 ^^)

데니스의 발표를 보면 진정으로 창업자의 열정이 느껴집니다. 속사포처럼 짧은 시간에 많은 이야기를 하고 있는데 저런 열정으로 만든 서비스라 많은 관심을 모으고 빠르게 성장해가고 있구나 하는 것을 느낄 수 있습니다. 아직도 직원은 겨우 6명이라고 합니다. 뉴욕의 스타트업이고요. 어느 시점이 되면 구글이나 MS, Yahoo같은 대형인터넷기업이 인수에 나서겠죠.

발표에서 몇가지 인상적인 슬라이드를 캡처해봤는데요. 트위터를 통한 이런 유저의 반응에 크게 동기부여가 되는 것 같습니다. Foursqaure를 통해 일상생활이 게임같아지고 더 활기차게 변했다는 트윗입니다.

Gym배지 같은 것(헬스클럽에 운동하러갈때마다 포인트를 얻어서 배지를 타내는 것 같음)은 사용자의 운동에 대한 욕구를 크게 자극한다고 하는군요.

Starbucks의 Mayor에 대해서도 이렇게 활발한 쟁탈전이….

Foursquare는 최근 API를 공개했는데요. 이 API를 기반으로 재미있는 서비스들이 잇달아 등장하고 있습니다. LAYER는 포스퀘어 데이터를 기반으로 만든 AR(증강현실)앱입니다. 아이폰으로 카메라를 돌려보면 포스퀘어 친구들이 방문했던 곳들이 떠오르는듯.

SocialGreat라는 서비스는 포스퀘어의 데이터를 기반으로 어떤 장소의 포스퀘어유저 방문 데이터를 보여줍니다.

웹2.0엑스포가 있던 뉴욕 자비스센터의 포스퀘어유저 시간별 체크인데이터입니다. 재미있네요.

겨우 걸음마단계인 서비스가 벌써 이렇게 재미있는 응용서비스들을 낳고 있다는 점이 흥미롭습니다. API의 힘이 생각보다 대단하네요!

This final week has given you some ideas about future directions the

A few years ago while doing a Microsoft Course we were discussing IPv4 and the future of IPv6, how these new IP address would change how the whole world works. The discussion was how buildings will soon be built with each light, soap dispenser, toilet roll holder etc having its own unique IP address. Most likely using a RFID tag or a sensor of some kind on each item within the whole building. The amazing thing that will happen is if with server tools set correctly to alert when certain network traffic occurs a person will know instantly if a light globe has burnt out, no soap or no toilet rolls. The exact location and problem will be known most likely before the incident has occurred.

That’s 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 rolls of toilet paper.

Initially while throwing around ideas about my web presence I was thinking of removing it after the course was done, however, I found a topic I was willing to share with the world so I decided that once all said and done I will keep it going. A few changes like removing the exegesis, but the essence would stay.

Social Networking Sides are becoming more and more popular these days, as they offer huge new communication possibilities for private persons as well as companies. Unfortunately there is also a flipside of the coin, as these SNS can also be used for different kinds of abuse.

That Social Networking Sides are used by some employers to check on their employees is not really a head-turning news issue anymore, but it is quiet new that insurance companies use Facebook to collect data, and even evidence about and against their customers.

According to CBC News the Canadian insurance company ‘Manulife’ refuses to go on paying monthly sick-leave benefits to the 29 years old Nathalie Blanchard because of evidence pictures, the company found on her private Facebook account.

Blanchard received her sick-leave benefits for being unable to work because she was diagnosed with major depressions. Now Manulife refuses to pay her sick-leave benefits, because they found several pictures of her having a good time on her birthday and enjoying a holiday trip, which they take as an evidence for her well being.

All this happened although she informed ‘Manulife’ about her trip and she acted in advice of her doctor, who told her, that she should try to have fun going out, as means of forgetting her problems for a while.
Nevertheless, it is even more shocking that the insurance company could get access to her private Facebook account, although it is locked and only people who she approved should have had access to her posts and photos.

Regrettably this is just one of many examples that should make each of us think of the possible dangers that might appear from new media like web 2.0.

Rapporten handlar om segregation i boendet, skolan, familjebildningen, och på arbetsmarknaden i Stockholm, Göteborg och Malmö.

En fråga som studeras i rapporten är när segregationen är ett problem och något samhället ska motverka och vilka åtgärder som då ska tas.

Don’t believe the predictions that health care reform will be self-financing. Cassidy writes that, “What is really unfolding … is the scenario that many conservatives feared. The Obama administration … is creating a new entitlement program, which, once established, will be virtually impossible to rescind.”

Nor is this effort solely about health care, or a bid to make the United States a “more equitable society.” Cassidy says this is all part of the Democrats’ “political calculus” — meaning, I assume, that if voters are more dependent on government, they will tend to support the party of government, namely the Democrats.

Cassidy believes that “expanding health care coverage now and worrying later about its long-term consequences is an eminently defensible strategy.” It will make American society more “equitable,” and perhaps justifies a little “subterfuge” with the numbers.

“Universal health insurance” is a myth.  The only way to make health care “affordable” under a “universal health insurance” scheme is through price controls and limiting access.  Any proposal claiming to provide “universal coverage” is nothing more than a system that must rely on private and/or public entities to administer government-run health care.

Do you think this is applicable to most users you see on Facebook? Whilst reading this article I could easily see myself in one of the groups discussed. I use Facebook daily to keep in touch with family, friends and some people I work with. I do not spend a lot of time joining groups, making networks. However, from my experience on FB I can defiantly see certain groups that are very much based around age and location.

I think that there defiantly is a group on FB that is playing the voyeur, adding friends who they have not seen many years, just to get a look at what they are like now.

I am sure that FB can be used in a working environment, if a company can use hammocks, pool tables, beanbags, massage chairs and guitar hero and still be successful I am sure FB can work as well.

I found it interesting that there are some people who really do not care what they do or leave behind for others to see online. On the other hand there are people who are very aware they might cause issues with their footprint and start to delete any information they do not want to share.

Do you think that there are some people whose lives really won’t change no matter what information is online about them?

I am sure there are those out there who do not care what they digital footprint is, the worse the information the better, it is a badge of honor to some.

NOTES

What you do and leave behind in blogs, SNS etc is called an Internet Footprint, therefore, whatever you do online has the potential to become public. You have to be aware that whatever you post, someone you do not want to see may be able to see it. A colliding network may occur.
