Pernahkah korang dengar berita tentang ramai manusia di muka bumi ini yang masih hidup susah, melarat, dan menderita?

Apa yang pernah korang lakukan untuk menolong mereka yang memerlukan?

Mungkin hanya sekadar merasa kasihan ataupun sedih melihat keadaan mereka yang hidup tidak senang seperti kita.

Mungkin hanya sekadar mengalirkan beberapa titis air mata ketika melihat, membaca, atau mendengar tentang keadaan mereka.

“Maaf, aku tak punya apa-apa untuk ku berikan kepada kalian”

Mungkin kata-kata di atas yang kalian ucapkan atau pernah tercetus di dalam hati korang.

Baru-baru ini aku temui satu website yang di buat untuk membantu mereka yang memerlukan. Baik manusia mahupun haiwan dan juga alam.

Kita tak perlu keluarkan duit, sedekahkan pakaian, atau mengeluarkan setitik peluh pun. Apa yang perlu kita buat adalah memberikan komen atau mesej kepada penaja.

Mungkin korang penah dengar tentang application Cause di Facebook. Website ini ada kaitannya dengan application itu. Namanya, SocialVibe. Mereka telah berusaha mencari penaja untuk Cause yang ada. Dan kita hanya perlu meluangkan hanya sedikit masa untuk ikut serta membantu mereka yang memerlukan.

Mudah, bukan?

Jadi di sini aku telah join SocialVibe dan memilih Education sebagai Cause aku. Sebab bagi aku, tanpa pendidikan yang cukup, taraf hidup memang tak akan naik. Jadi pendidikan itu adalah kunci segalanya. Aku ada letak badge SocialVibe di sidebar kanan blog ini. Sesiapa yang sudi membantu, boleh klik badge tersebut. Point yang korang dapat nanti samalah dengan jumlah hari yang korang dapat sekolahkan orang yang memerlukan. Sebagai contoh, korang dapat 10 point. Jadi korang dah menyumbang sesuatu dan dapat membantu seseorang untuk ke sekolah selama 10 hari.

Beberapa hari yang lalu menambahkan widget socialvibe yang kurang dimengerti juga apa maksud dari widger tersebut. Awalnya sih mencari widget untuk menampilkan komentar terbanyak namun tidak ketemu juga. utak – atik akhirnya mata tertuju dengan sebuah widget tersebut langsung aja di pasang tanpa tujuan dan pengetahuan tentang widget tersebut sebelumnya.

segala langkah yang diberikan diikuti, suruh sign out ya udah daftar aja dengan email yang biasa. diikuti instruksinya aja tanpa tahu maksudnya, soalnya pakai bahasa inggris (waktu sekolah dulu anti banget dengan mata pelajaran bahasa inggris). terus aja diikuti langkahnya dan akhirnya menjadi seperti yang terpasang slide bar kiri dibawah itu (bisa dilihat kan……..???)

ada shobat yang mengerti apa maksudnya sih????????????

After a short day, the dance class takes over my body. My paws hurts and I´m sitting like a dough on the couch.

I´ve been kind of into FarmVille, I know many people hate it, I did in the beginning. It took me a while to understand whyyyyyyyyyy you want to commit to a game like that. It was kind of easy in the beginning… you could go in there whenever you wanted, not much cash involved, not many things to grow. But then… it just got bigger and bigger. Now I have to schedule some days for that. It´s sick, but still fun.

After moving my blog to here, I noticed that you can add some widgets. One of the ones I added is SocialVibe. A good widget that allows you to help without much effort. Just simply care enough to click on the widget and just answer som extremely short questions. By DOING that, you contribute to help the earth. That´s amazing. I´ve been klicking like an idiot =P

Under tiden vill jag  göra en röst hörd för allas vår natur. Ni vet den vi sköter om så bra, inte. Högst upp på sidan till höger hittar ni något som kallas för socialvibe och det är ett välgörenhetsprojekt jag valt att ha på min blogg. Jag valde att stödja WWF, världsnaturfonden, för jag vill tro på att naturen, vår hela värld, kan räddas och jag drar mitt strå till stacken genom att stödja dem att stoppa utsläppen av växthusgaser.

Hur som helst, det funkar väldigt enkelt faktiskt för det enda ni behöver göra är att trycka på loggan eller ikonen, eller vad man nu vill kalla det och så länkas man vidare till socialvibe där man ska genomföra 6 olika uppgifter och efter varje uppgift man gjort får man en viss poäng som i slutändan räknas om till x antal minskade växthusgaser. Uppgifterna tar ungefär tio minuter att genomföra och jag tycker att det är en liten insats för ett större syfte.

Now I know that I write about a lot of nonsense, and rarely say much worth saying but this is different. Throughout my life I had felt the need to make a difference especially within the realm of AIDS relief. Now most days I just sit around and write and make friends and network online, but this is not that day. Today is a day of activism. I just discovered Social Vibe. I may be wayyyy behind on this, but I am astonished I hadn’t heard of it before. I signed up and started doing activities and earning points for my cause. These points translate into money that my sponsers donate to the cause. Literally for my time I am raising money for AIDS Medication. Now you are probably thinking that the activities are rigged to get you to sign up for something, that eventually costs money, don’t feel bad that is what I thought. They actually don’t. I just earned one aids treatment for decorating a picture and emailing it to my husband. Seriously. If I am joking I will send you one dollar. I am not joking so dont try to collect suckas. If you don’t do this I really don’t think I like you that much. If you are reading this look to your left on the screen for a little ad for social vibe and click to do an activity, take 3 minutes to do it. Do it.

My out-going e-mails are not sending.  What in the world does this mean: “Error connecting to intmail – Check the hostname resolves, accepts incoming SMTP connections and is active”?

1. Called TED about the TED Prize (212.346.9333)
2. Got instructions from NYC Business Solutions to set up an appointment with the Community Development Project of the Legal Aid Society (212.426.3000).  Called and left message.
3. Update the “Get Involved” page
4. Set up appointment to meet with Emily from God’s Love We Deliver to get avice on vonlunteers
5. Heard back from SocialVibe, who is no longer accepting partners, with the exception of those who come with a paid brand sponsor or celebrity affiliates who’s willing to be involved in a campaign promoting an organization on SocialVibe through videos, media interviews, etc.
6. Discussed the foundation with several people I met at a renewable energy event and got some good feedback.
7. Showed Steve the website design and got good feedback
8. Out-going e-mail went down.

A very painful day, as I didn’t go to sleep until about 10 in the morning and only for four hours.  It’s an atrocious idea to do detail-oriented tasks (such as mass-survey mailings) when you can hardly remember you own name.  Next time, sleep first.

1. Upgraded SurveyMonkey account to pro
2. Sent out 1st batch of the “Self-Identifier” survey (to some 1,000+ people, got about a 10% response rate so far.  Really wish there was more representation from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.)
3. Asked Lillian to find out with whom I should talk with at God’s Love We Deliver (they deliver meals in NYC to bed-ridden patients) about getting professional Volunteers
4. Researching and pulling together financials for the foundation’s operations
5. Wrote to Clive from One Brick (a non-profit in the US that provides volunteers for other non-profits to gain a better understanding of the operational and financial aspects involved in running a non-profit
6. Talked with Maureen (friend in Toronto) about getting help from some of her friends (one who works as a human-rights attorney and another who had non-profit and grant-proposal writing experience.

Thought I would give myself the day off, but the problem about having an idea you really believe in is that it really sucks you in sometimes.

1. Thought more in detail about the “slice of life” segment and registration forms
2. Saw the SocialVibe widget on WordPress and e-mailed them about the possibility of partnering up
3. Added more pages to the blog (“Get involved” and “Rate this blog”)
4. Created customized payment page for Paypal
5. Created and posted the “Donate” button
6. Updated notes on website components
7. Edited foundation business plan presentation
8. Updated to-do list

Jag har gjort lite uppdateringar till min sida som ni kanske kan se. Jobbar ständigt med design och sånt, tröttnar ju så fort. I alla fall, har inte hunnit göra iordning någon av sidorna MEN jag har lagt upp artiklar under skolarbeten. Det är dock ett lösenord för att komma åt dom. Just nu är lösenordet Äppelträd fast på engelska. Så om ni vill läsa vad jag skrivit så är det bara skriva det ordet – på engelska – och så borde ni komma dit. Enkelt men ändå inte.

Blev lite besviken när jag tittade i nya numret av Kalamalama och bara såg en av mina artiklar. Jag förstår att dom inte har plats men när som skriker efter artiklar så kan dom väl trycka det dom har. Jag hade i alla fall två till som skulle kunnat varit med. Nu kom “bara” den om Gigapan med. Oh well. Den finns förresten INTE på skolarbeten länken.

Jag har ju suttit med det här SocialVibe på min sida nu ett tag. Det är faktiskt rätt intressant. Jag är mest ute efter att komma upp i 2,000 poäng så att jag kan beställa en sån där rosa boll. haha. larvigt va? men det är sant.

Näe, tror jag tar en paus från datorn nu.

SocialVibe experiment: According to the SocialVibe website, the goal of 10,000lb.  of carbon offsets was MET today! So the count started over, which is why you will notice that the count on my page went down. Not to fear; the pounds we earned up to this point went towards that 10,000lb. The new goal is another 10,000lb. I said I plan to change “causes” every month. I’ll wait until December 1st.

On the vet school side of life, things are picking up pretty dramatically. 1 final this week, 3 next week. After that, my class schedule gets significantly lighter, as I finish 4 classes and start 2 new ones. I’ve heard these 2 new classes are pretty information-heavy, so the studying definitely will not get lighter.

Halloween was fun! I spent the night with my new Class of 2013 friends. There were some pretty creative costumes.

I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving. I’m going to make my Gram’s blueberry pie recipe, which I have made for Thanksgiving every year since she passed away in 2004. I’m also making homemade cranberry sauce, which is my own recipe, adapted from one featured on the Today show years ago. The dogs and I are spending the holiday with Mike’s family in St. Augustine, and on Friday, I’m going up to Jacksonville to see my former co-workers!

SocialVibe is a partnership between some big name, big money corporations and little, podunk bloggers like me.
