Yep….I invented the pedicure sock !

Apparently you wash your face really well at night, then apply FRESH lemon juice to your face and let it dry. There are a number of ways to do this;

• cut a slice of lemon and rub it directly over your face
• squeeze the juice into a small spray bottle and spray it on
• squeeze the juice into a glass and apply with a q-tip or cotton ball

However you do it, just DO NOT let it get in your eyes or it’ll cause you no end of pain. After letting it dry, just leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning as usual.

After doing some research of my own, I’ve found countless raving reviews on lemon juice for the skin, as well as a tonne of varying ingredients. For instance, some people swear by adding a little honey to the mix to cut down on the redness brought about by the acidic lemon juice. I’m not sold on that one though- I don’t fancy waking up with my hair and pillow stuck together in a gooey mess.

I’m going to update this once I’ve tried it, which will happen tonight. Hopefully my face doesn’t fall off XD

This little baby has taken me by surprise and awed me in Oh, so many ways.

Introduced to it by a friend, I bought this feeling very skeptical about it. Little did I know I was about to fall head-over-heels in love.

This foundation is not thick at all, nor is it oily, and it gives the skin that velvet-skin look that we all covet.  The application is very easy and you can get a medium to full coverage depending on the application method. This is such a good foundation that using a setting powder is an option, not a must.

It works like the perfect canvas for the rest of your makeup, because all the colors show perfectly and blend in smoothly with the foundation, avoiding that “cakey” effect.  I, personally, forgot about other foundations as soon as I started using this one.  It is my FAVORITE foundation so far. I was not a fan of using foundations, and didn’t tend to use them, but whenever I am going out I can’t resist the Tarte Effect. It is water-resistant, so it can be even be used for a pool day, and God knows I have plenty of them. Thanks to this baby I can still have  a flawless skin for hours and hours to come regardless of where I am at.

I normally apply it with a dampened Beauty Blender, to get a medium coverage that gives me that no-makeup effect, for a daily use. I will upload a video review of this product very soon.

I have a very sensitive skin and have been fighting with skin problems for almost 10 years!
I have started this blog in order to share my experiences with people that have the same problem skin as I have. Hopefully I can become your muse and help you to enjoy better skin quality.

I got on Pinterest (ah, where “great” stories start!) and looked for a new face mask that I could make out of things I already had. And I found this one. I’ve put nutmeg and milk on my face before… so I thought it would be a good idea.

So I mixed together the ingredients:
2 Tablespoons Honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

This didn’t exactly make a “paste”, so I added a smidge more of both of the spices.

Then, I put it on my face:

And then I waited. I went into my living room, sat down and tried to enjoy a television show. And then…

DRIP.

A huge, big, messy, runny, piece of honacinameg on my chest. And then…

DRIP.

A huge, big, messy, runny, couple pieces of honacinameg on my eyelashes.

Eventually, I had enough. So I went in the bathroom…. and the honacinameg was everywhere. On my shirt. On my hands. It was everywhere.

So, I decided to wash it off. I heated up some water, and started washing it off my face. It took me awhile to do this. Maybe about a minute in… I literally thought that my face was on FIRE. I started screaming, and rubbing harder to get it off faster. That made it worse.

Needless to say, I finally turned on the cold water and got it off. Whew. Finally. My face stayed on fire for at least ten minutes.

Sure, now my face “feels soft” — probably because it ripped off a couple of layers of skin in the process.

So, there’s that. Be careful what you put on your face.

The choice of the pads is a very important aspect, it affects the sound, the isolation and the confort of your headphone.

When it comes to Beyerdynamic Headphones, there is a lot of options for the pads : you can find velour pads, leather pads / softskin pads from the original manufacturer and also lot of “compatible pads” from other brands solds on amazon or ebay.

From my experience I’ve tested the original DT990 pads, The Velour DT770 pads and the Soft Skin (leather) DT770M pads.

The one I find the most confortable are the DT990 velour pads. The DT770 velour pads are more firm and so you feel more the clamp of the headphone. Also the DT990 pads appears to be larger than the two other pads.

The DT770M pleather pads are more suited for outside use and appears more resistant than the velour pads. So I recommend for someone who wants to travel with a DT770 for example.

Soon I will try to adapt DT990 velour pads on The superlux HD660 / HD330 to see if they fit and if they improve the confort.

Update:  07/02/2013: 

After trying the Beyerdynamic DT990 pads on the Superlux HD330 I came to the conclusion that they fit perfectly.

As a reverse effect all the DT770 pads also fit perfectly on the DT990 pro. (I tried the softskin and velour)

Soundwise the conclusion is more complicated: Ok DT990 pads fits and are very confortable but they kill IMHO all the nice mid and bass/sub of the HD330. The DT770 pads (velour and softskin) makes the DT990 more bassy but there is something too much and I dont like the “signature” with these pads.

So finally the Best pads for the HD330 are the Beyerdynamic DT770 velour pads (for the moment).

and DT990 stay with their pads that are made for them.

Cleaning. People that know me or around me enough know that I clean things and like cleaning things. My obsessions is not that I cannot stand dirty places or need to clean dirty places, but it is when I start cleaning. I cannot stop. There is something about me that when I start cleaning, I will not stop until everything is spotless clean or until my urge to keep cleaning is gone.

Music. Everyone is obsessed with music, whether it is listening to it, playing it, or singing it, every person needs a little music in their system to stay functioning. But for me, it is another urge/ addiction/ obsession. There are times in my mind and body, I just need to sing and bust out a note. If I do not, I feel very locked up and restricted. My mind is not as ease and my body starts to become tense.

Boyfriends. This is why one, I do not like to get close to guys because, someone ends up liking the other person and two, I do not like dating. When I get into the girl who has a crush or the girlfriend phase, I become obsessive. I usually do not show it or try to show it, but internally, I am usually thinking about the person I’m attractive to a lot, like unhealthy a lot. Also, I become that person who does not trust the person I’m attractive to and I am always thinking about what he is doing and why he is not with me. Seriously, I am that creepy girl. Dating, not for me, never. Unless you want that obsessive, insecure, creepy girlfriend, that of course will never show you until she randomly breaks up with you because she thought you were cheating for some odd reason. Unless you want kind of thing, just stay friends with me.

Finally, skin care. I think every women has a mini obsession about beauty and taking care of their skin, but how it has become an obsession for me is that I look up and read almost ever day about what to do/ what are the best products to use/ things to eat, etc. that has to do with skin care and what can beneficial for your skin. I am a person who is obsessed with having the softest, youngest looking skin. Every day I look up what is the best things to do or products to use for your skin to keep it soft and young looking. I think the day I get my first wrinkle is the day I will literally have my first heart attack too. I do no mind wrinkles and I know they will come and that I will get older, but to prolong the aging or to age well is what I look and seek for.

So, I pretty much wrote an confession blog and realized how much I need some counseling for the new year. Hahah!
I wonder if anyone else has obsessions or issues like mine? I doubt it. But, makes up who I am and for now, I am okay with that. So, take me as I am, obsessions and all and enjoy this crazy, obsessed blogger. Haha

….Extend the pleasure of the pedicure experience…..at home !

This small piece of plastic simply doesnt exist on beyerdinamic models like the DT990.

The problem of this piece of plastic is that it limit the system’s articulation when it touch the pads. This give the pads a bad angle on the ears.
I removed this with a knife and a pliers and the improvement in confort is very nice.
The placement of the pads on the ears and the sealing are improved giving a better balance R/L.

Sexy Knit Wear

Bio-Oil is coined as specialist skincare for scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, ageing, and dehydrated skin. And, more recently Kim Kardashian revealed it as her secret weapon that she’ll be using throughout her pregnancy to keep stretch marks (and wrinkles) at bay. It is also reported to be  favored by celebs such as Natalie Portman and Rochelle Humes. So, why all the hype about this “miracle” oil?

The key ingredient is PurCellin Oil. PurCellin is not a single ingredient, it is a delivery system which reduces the overall thickness of the substance and helps Bio-Oil absorb easily into the skin, which in my opinion, it does well. The product may be called an oil and look greasy but it does in fact absorb super well, leaving a light sheen but not a greasy, slimy feel (unless of course, you over apply), But, just to be clear, PurCellin Oil™ is a laboratory recreation (man made) of the preen gland oil of ducks, and acts as the delivery system for Bio Oils other ingredients.

It is also a non-acnegenic product, can be used on sensitive skin and is hypo allergenic. Made up of a mix of plant oil and vitamins, Bio-Oil helps moisturize and enhance the skin to its fullest. It relieves dry skin, helps soothe after sun exposure, and can be used in the bath. In fact, one of my favorite ways to use it is in the bath for general hydration. For healing it is recommended to be used twice daily for a min. of 3 months.

As I’m not pregnant, nor am I using it for stretch marks, I cannot speak directly to those claims. But, I can give my personal opinion to claims of hydration and skin tone. After using it only for a few days a dear friend touched my arm and immediately remarked how soft my skin felt, loved it!

I also noticed the skin on my legs was looking more even, not as red. I’ve started to dab a little bit around my eyes for moisture and fine lines and so far, no breakouts, and good results. I’m hesitant to apply it all over my face because of break outs but I’ll let you know if I dare go there. Until then, I have to say for my purposes, Bio-Oil is pretty heavenly!

My only warning for those who are super conscious about ingredients is that Bio-Oil does contain paraffin or mineral oil in it. Paraffin is a solid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum which does raise a flag for some people however, it is considered a low overall hazard and permitted by the FDA for use as as an ophthalmic emollient. MY EXPERIENCE – It was this very intense fruity smell that made me buy this body lotion. One can clearly differentiate strawberry and guava from the odor. The quantity is absolutely sufficient. I have an extremely dry skin and it quickly gets absorbed into my skin leaving it completely nourished and smooth. It is a completely non-greasy formula.
It has a very creamy and smooth texture which is baby pink in color : D After application it does’nt leave any whitish cast or any dry spots. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long.

17 days of 2013 have already passed and ‘the poorest day of the year’ is coming in six days. Reality is hitting everyone, especially us – women – !

Over the winter holiday season, I thought I was doing good: did work-outs and ate healthy meals. Still, as soon as the sound of fireworks disappeared, my skin condition became bad, dry and unhealthy looking.

Item 1: JASON Lips Bee Healthier/lip balm

The instant moisture and refreshing feeling is guaranteed as soon as I applied. Doesn’t have a particular smell. Only £1.99 in real life too!

Item 2: PREMAKE SKINCARE: Balance Rescue Face Tonique

This is for Combination skin and Adult acne. I used this after removed my makeup. Usually, face toner irritates my skin and leaves redness. But this one, I liked it. It’s alcohol-free and contains rose water and oils to keep skin plump and soft even while I was using it.

Item 3: MONU: Aromatic Mask

OH MY GOD! This mask is gonna be my bestmate for forever and ever and ever!

For those of you who can’t stand mask like me (because they just make me wanna wash them off immediately) this is the one. Natural clay and coconut oil based cream made my skin super soft, firmer and brighter. I can see the difference just 15 minutes after. It says that “Lavender and Rosemary” on the front, but I couldn’t smell any harsh odor which is a bonus! Usual price is £24.95 for 100ml but it worths to buy one. Highly recommended!

Item 4: ELEMIS FRESH SKIN: Skin glow facial exfoliator

Again, I’m not a big fan of all exfoliator hypes at all. I liked this one tho. For me, it’s a normal exfoliator in a cute tube. As it contains cherry powder and jojoba beads, it should be good for sensitive skin. In fact, my skin looks actually good even after I basically scrubbed my face with small weird feeling beads!

Item 5: DUCK ISLAND LIMITED: Body lotion

My favourite body lotion/butter are always from Vaseline. (Love Cocoa radiant!)

But if you don’t like that sticky feeling on your skin afterwards, you’ll like it! With the smell of lemon sorbet (truly in my own opinion), this light lotion sank into my skin so quick. It’s been few hours since I used it but my skin is still so soft and not dry. One thing I don’t like about this product is the bottle shape. It was a bit hard to let out the exact amount I wanted.

Avocados

As you all know avocados are great for your skin and its anti aging property is a plus point to the skin. Make a paste of  avocado and add in few drops of lemon, mix it well. Apply this paste on face leave for 5-10 minutes and rinse with water. This reduces dryness of skin and also cleanses the skin. Another method of using avocados for dry skin is making a paste of avocado, papaya and banana. Apply this paste to your face and neck, leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash with water.

Almond Oil

Almonds are great for skin and hair. Apply almond oil and massage a bit to dry areas, Leave it overnight and wash with water. This will nourishes the skin and tackles dryness and make your skin soft and supple.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is used for many of skin and hair problems. Pick a piece of aloe vera, wash it nicely with water, peel the outer skin and rub the aloe vera gel gently on skin. This will make your skin to glow and become soft.

Gram Flour

Mix 2-3 spoons of gram flour with milk and a pinch of turmeric and make a paste. Apply this paste to your face and neck, leave it for 5-10 minutes later rinse with water. This gives you smooth skin and will also remove sun tan.

Rose Water

Rose water is used as a refreshing agent for the skin, it will cleanses skin and make your skin look fresh. Apply the mixture of rose water and a bit of honey to dry areas. This will moisturizes the skin and removes dry skin.

Honey

Take 1 spoon of honey, 1 spoon of egg yolk and 2 spoon milk in a bowl. Mix it well and apply to your face, leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse with water. This results in soft and supple skin.

Coconut Milk

Apply and rub coconut milk to your face and body and leave it over night and rinse it in the morning with water. This reduce dry skin and helps remove dark spots and blemishes.

Cucumber

Cucumber removes dark spots, evens skin tone and refreshes skin. Apply fresh cucumber juice to face and let it sit for 5-10 minutes then rinse with water. This will freshen up your skin and removes dark circles under eyes.

Oil Bath

Oil bath is best during winter which will make your skin soft and glowing. Warm a cup of coconut oil and apply to your body and massage a bit which improves blood circulation. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with water and a mild soap. This is one of my favorite method during winter to keep my skin soft.

Raw Milk

Take a cup of raw milk add in few drops of rose water and massage to your body and wash with lukewarm water. This helps to make your skin smooth and supple.

Tips

• Use soap as less as possible during winters and opting for a mild or baby soap is great for your skin during winter.

• Carry petroleum jelly while going out and apply whenever find dry and itchy skin.

• Avoid using hot water and go for lukewarm water for bathing during winter.

• Use oily moisturizers during winter and water based during summer.
