Ever wondered that when you searched in Google, it never gave you the results you wanted. When you perform a search, for example wireless, it opens up the default Web browser and the opens up Google search engine to perform the search for you. The Google search bar, which typically used to have the string that you provided, will now have another string, which may look strange to you.

The results are excellent. In the normal search through Google search engine, I did not get these results, but here with the help of Google Hacks, I was able to get to the Websites that did not show up in the normal searches… You should try this for your own testing purposes.

I really enjoyed Red Hot Chili Peppers – Stadium arcadium so I thought I’d use this part of the lyrics as a title…and besides that it sort of fit the subject well.

Well, seems I’ve missed last month’s Experimental Gameplay theme “Failure”. It’s really annoying me, cause I had a nice idea for that…but who knows, I might use parts of it this month…

Anyway, there’s something I find really strange (and funny at the same time). I guess you all remember Obsessive Nuclear Testing Disorder. I made it in July for EGP’s “Unexperimental shooter” theme. Amazingly, it seems to be the best game I’ve made so far. Out of all the 3852 hits I’ve had so far on my blog, 1384 come from ONTD. Even thought I only posted ONTD on my blog, TigSource and mailed to the guys at EGP, it came up on many other sites and even got a small review. From now on, I’m gonna rate each link on the “how much I laughed when I saw it”, from 1 to 10.

I’ll start off with the mini-review. This got a 6…When I first saw it I laughed for about 5 mins w/o stopping
The second one, is similar to the first one, and I found it almost at the same time (Google is smart). This gets a 4 (I laughed so hard at the first one, that I didn’t find it so funny).
This one was kinda lame…since it’s basically a carbon-copy of the first two…2.
This one was extremely funny. Mainly because I couldn’t understand the language. I think it’s in Czech. This gets an 8.

Last but not least, I found ONTD here. Well, as far as my scale goes, this is way off the scale…23462(!!!) I laughed for about 15 minutes ) I got an

Haven’t laughed that hard since a friend of mine tried to carry burning ashes from one fire to another with a towel.

What I find strange is that the game I spent the least time on had the greatest success…I should remember to stick to this…also, I’m thinking of writing a post-mortem for it. It’ deserves it

Automattic, the company behind the popular, blog-hosting platform WordPress.com, has just announced it acquired the spelling plug-in maker After The Deadline, one of the most powerful spell-checking technologies available, to bring advanced spelling, grammar and style checking to the blogs hosted on WordPress.com. The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. but both its creator, Raphael Mudge, and Automattic founder Matt Mullenweg are very pleased with the move.

“When I first tried After the Deadline I was blown away; it was so much better than other checkers I’d used, and it was by one guy building this thing that solves a problem other folks have teams of PhDs trying to solve. I reached out to Raphael (the one guy) to see how we could get this technology in front of WordPress users and ended up doing a deal for Automattic to buy his entire company,” Matt Mullenweg wrote on the official WordPress.com blog.

Mudge started working on the application last year and began to get some promising results and attention earlier this year. A comment made by him showing the app uncovering a mistake in a New York Times article grabbed the attention of WordPress’ founder and he ended up buying the startup in July.

Now, after a couple of months of rewriting the plug-in and adapting it to WordPress.com’s infrastructure, the technology is already enabled for all 7.5 million English blogs on the hosting platform. The plug-in checks for spelling, grammar and style errors and offers suggestions and explanations on any of them. What sets it apart, though, is that its corrections are on par with, if not better than, those on Microsoft Word.

However, both entrepreneurs are big believers in open source technology and the plug-in will remain free to use for non-commercial purposes. There are also plans to expand the technology to include several other languages and, at a later point, also to open source the engine and the rules that are used behind the scenes.

I just got another email by Softpedia. It had the exact same text for my irc client as the last one except now they’re adding me to the Windows section. Funny thing is this time whoever looked at my app clearly didn’t know that the Mac version of their site had added me already and went ahead and produced more screenshots. The screenshots produced for the Windows section are all pretty terrible and they just went ahead and copy and pasted my help section. Had he known about the earlier addition, he could have used the better description and screenshots added for the Mac portion of the site.

In other related news, “I use this” has added the client too.

Also since my Macbook is still in the shop, I can’t get any work done on it.

Softpedia has added my Adobe AIR app, Diomedes IRC client to their website! I didn’t even apply. Wonder how they found out about it. Maybe found it on the Adobe AIR marketplace? In any case, it’s pretty interesting. First of all, they added to the Mac section even though since it was built on Adobe AIR it is cross platform and works on Windows and Linux too. They took several screenshots, and seem to know their way around IRC.  Unlike Upload.com/Download.com they do not host the file, they link to my file on my site. They also have cleared the software of being spyware free, which is great.
