Såååå störande. Jag har väntat på att denna mobil ska komma ut i snart 2 år. Jag har väntat och väntat. I och med att den aldrig kom ut när jag behövde en telefon så fick jag köpa mig Samsung Ultra Edition (vilken version kommer jag inte ihåg, den silvriga). Men den blev söndertuggad utav mina vovvar efter några månader. Fick köpa en ny och då valde jag Sony Ericsson´s smartphone – W960i. Smart och smart… den var jäkla flashig och smart då när jag köpte den, för ca 1½ år sen.

Nuuuu, när den förbannade Sation (Idou) kommit ut och har haft “möjligheten” att köpa (vilket egentligen inte stämmer, för här i England så är det så tramsigt att kunna få ett bankkonto, vilket jag behövt för att kunna få mig en Satio), så är den inte riktigt brukbar vilket innebär att det vore idiotiskt att satsa på en sådan just nu. Carphone Warehouse har kallat tillbaka telefoner för att mjukvaran inte riktigt är med på noterna. Det är så typiskt… fan ta… ush jag blir så upprörd.

Btw, har fått bank nu, men väntar fortfarande på VISA kortet, vilket är det dom behöver för att kunna ge mig en Satio. I vilket fall… det blir ingen Satio nu eftersom det är så mycket fel på mjukvaran. Får vänta tills dom uppgraderat den lite innan jag slår till. Men shit så jag väntat. Borde nästan få ett pris för det. Just nu har jag inte någon bra fungerande phone =(

Sony Ericsson were once one of the most popular handset makers in the world. They had a long string of hit after hit, culminating with the (still superb) Sony Ericsson K800i. With the still-growing popularity of the Walkman series of phones, they’re one of the best-known feature phone manufacturers in Europe. However, is all of that about to change, and with horrific results?

News surfaced today that the Carphone Warehouse is to stop offering the Sony Ericsson Satio, due to instabilities within the software. Naturally, SE are working quickly on a fix and Carphone Warehouse will restock the device when it’s up and working properly.

You would assume that this is not that big of a deal then, as some phones (most notably Nokia’s) seem to be released too early for most people’s liking, with the first set of phones being seen as ‘test’ devices – advanced prototypes, if you will. However, it may surprise (and worry) a few of you to find that this is definitely not the first Sony Ericsson device to be recalled on a massive scale.

In the past 3 years, there have in fact been 3 Sony Ericsson devices recalled by the manufacturer and “issues” with the handsets have been acknowledged.

The first recalled device was the Sony Ericsson K850i, spiritual successor to the K800i. It was nowhere near as good as its predecessor, featuring fiddly touch-sensitive soft keys, slow interfaces, and a pretty average 5mp camera that didn’t improve much upon the 3.2mp offering on the K800i. Around 6 months after it was released, the phone was phased out of the networks stores and Sony Ericsson were inundated with devices being sent in by angry users complaining of the non-working soft keys and buggy firmware.

Next to suffer the public’s wrath was the C905. Another flagship camera phone, it was an 8mp offering that was actually very impressive. It still has one of the best cameras seen on a phone despite having 12mp competition around these days. Sadly, the firmware was the problem this time – with Sony Ericsson recalling the devices earlier this year.

And now we come to the Satio. This too is a flagship phone, although its intended to be a jack-of-all-trades. While not only being a master of none, the phone doesn’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack as seen on all high-end phones these days, and the UI is a heaily adapted version of Symbian, more commonly seen on Nokia devices. While most recent Nokia devices are having a few small issues with firmware and such, with the N97 being the biggest case of this (suffering both firmware and hardware issues, which have been resolved now) Sony Ericsson have reported the software being the issue. This would suggest that the problems lie in the software they themselves have included.

These are very worrying times for Sony Ericsson I would imagine. Not many manufacturers have to recall 3 devices in the same number of years – and the more this happens, the less confident consumers will be in choosing their handsets over someone else’s. At least they seem to be on form with the Xperia X10 (running Android) and Kurara (another Symbian device) – although I wouldn’t like to speak too soon.

While Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10 has been taking all the headlines, let’s not forget that there is also the Kurara U5 from Sony Ericsson that is also highly anticipated. Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-Review has managed to get hold of a unit, and was kind enough to publish a preview on it. In case you were wondering, the main difference between the Kurara U5 and the XPERIA X10 is the fact that the former is powered by Symbian, while the latter runs on Google’s Android. The Kurara U5 seems to have many similarities with Samsung’s i8910 OmniaHD, which is also powered by Symbian. Will the XPERIA X10 overshadow the Kurara? We’ll have to wait till they’re both released and see what happens.

In the specifications, this Nokia 3555 Phone’s camera is listed as having a 4X digital zoom, but this feature is basically useless due to the tragic quality of images under the zoom feature. The Nokia 3555 Pictures have decent quality at basic settings, but any use of the zoom or most of the other features quickly deteriorates the quality of the image. Many consumers will not consider purchasing a phone that does not have a camera or video-recording option, and the Nokia 3555 does contain these features.

This Nokia 3555 Mobile Phone’s camera does record video, but the appearance is extremely poor. The Nokia 3555 is one of the newer Nokia models. This flip phone has a fairly basic design, but the style is still edgy enough to satisfy some fashion-conscious consumers. Overall, this is not the best phone available, but it is a less expensive alternative to some of the other flip phones with some of the same features.

The Nokia 3555 phone does record sound with the videos, and this particular feature seems to work fairly well. Noises that are clear during recording tend to maintain clarity during the playback. Overall, the camera feature falls short of other phones available.

The settings on the phone are organized neatly and logically. The consumer would assume that this would make changing the features somewhat simple, but that is a false assumption. Some features are co-dependent especially for the display settings, so a change of any particular display will erase the consumer’s efforts to personalize the phone. Changing the settings simply requires time and patience. Aside from difficulties modifying the display settings, few problems occur in other setting categories. As of today Symbian users are able to use Spotify on their mobile phones. Phones that are support are for instance very many popular Nokia phones, some Sony Ericsson phones and Samsung phones. A great step forward!

Menjajal fasilitas assisted global positioning system (aGPS) yang tertanam di ponsel ini cukup menarik. Dengan program Wisepilot yang terinstal di dalamnya, saya mencoba “merekam” perjalanan dari rumah menuju kraton gawean.

Saya ingin membuktikan benar nggak sih ada “penyimpangan” antara kecepatan speedometer dan GPS? Ternyata benar! Tadi pagi saya memacu hingga 80 km/jam (speedometer). Namun, GPS mencatat angka berbeda, yaitu 75 km/jam.

Sementara kecepatan rata-rata (average) hanya 35 km/jam. Weleh, alonrider beneran nih.

Spotify has expanded its mobile reach with a launch onto the Symbian platform – a potentially huge new audience spanning around half of the global smartphone market.

As well as a large range of Nokia handsets, the app will also run on a selection of Sony Ericsson and Samsung smartphones running the Symbian platform, such as the Samsung GT-I8910 Omnia HD and Sony Ericsson Satio.

To get Spotify’s Symbian application, users can either download it directly to their phones by visiting m.spotify.com through their mobile web browser, or by entering their phone number on the new Symbian information page to receive instructions via an SMS.

As with the other iPhone and Android Spotify offerings, the Symbian app is only available to those who are Premium, i.e., paid-up members of the service.

This model’s development commenced at around the same time with the Satio (or “IDOU”, its original codename). Over at Sony Ericsson they never thought they’d manage beat their competitors to the market, and they didn’t – the Samsung i8910 HD has been around for a while now and has seen some decent success already. So, what can Sony Ericsson bring to the table to beat Samsung technology-wise? Basically, nothing. The Kukara offers a similar display, yet with worse image quality, since it doesn’t boast AMOLED technology, nor does it offer a huge amount of bundled storage space. Although there is one area where it excels and that’s UI, for it’s the fastest Symbian-based smartphone to date, based on Cortex A8 with 256 Mb RAM.

However it’s impossible to see this feat on pictures, and there is not much else going for the Kukara on other fronts. This prompts the question why it has to come out in February or early March, when the Samsung i8910 HD will have already spent around six months on the market by then? In this case the pricing issue moves to the front – at this point, it’s said the Kukara will retail for 400 Euro at the minimum, which is simply too much for a product of this caliber. If it hits the market at this price point, it won’t have even a chance to make any sort of impact.

Spotify is now available on Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung handsets through Symbian, it was confirmed on the Swedish startup’s blog this morning.

Today’s release means that Spotify Mobile is now available on millions more phones, such as the Nokia 6220 Classic, E71 and 5800 XpressMusic models. The application will also run on some of the more popular Sony Ericsson and Samsung smartphones, such as the Samsung GT-I8910 Omnia HD and Sony Ericsson Satio. Symbian is our third launch for Spotify Mobile, along with previously released iPhone and Android versions.

To find out if your handset is supported, go to m.spotify.com from your mobile’s browser, or enter your mobile number on the Spotify Mobile page, or check on the Spotify Symbian page. As with the Android and iPhone apps, you’ll need to become a premium member to use it, at £9.99 a month.

Enquanto aguardamos a chegada do XPERIA X10 às lojas de todo o mundo, a Sony Ericsson vai fazendo mistério. Agora ela liberou algumas fotos e um vídeo feitos com a câmera do smartphone.

Como a Sony Ericsson costuma fazer alguns bons celulares com câmeras, carregando o  respeitoso selo Cyber-shot, era de se imaginar que a marca ia se orgulhar do resultado de imagens do XPERIA X10. O smartphone, com plataforma Android e configuração parruda, é a grande aposta da marca para 2010. E se você não lembra da cara e da configuração dele de cor, clique aqui.

El Sony Ericsson C702 y el Sony Ericsson C902 viene a engrosar la gama demóviles CyberShot que el gigante sueco-japonés nos ofrece para este inicio de año. El primero destaca por el GPS integrado y por ser resistente a las salpicaduras y el polvo, mientras que el segundo presume de una cámara de 5.0 megapí xeles.

En el Sony Ericsson CyberShot C702 también nos encontramos con una pantalla QVGA de 2,2 pulgadas, un reproductor de MP3 compatible con Bluetooth estéreo (A2DP) y alimentado por tarjetas Memory Stick, conectividad HSDPA y un puerto USB.

El módulo GPS integrado, además de guiarnos a nuestro destino gracias a Google Maps Mobile, también se encarga, junto a la cámara de fotos, de guardar lageolocalización de nuestras fotografí as. La cámara de 3,2 megapí xeles también dispone de enfoque automático y detector de caras.

Por su parte, el Sony Ericsson CyberShot C902 aumenta la resolución de la cámara hasta los 5.0 megapí xeles y reduce la pantalla hasta las 2 pulgadas a cambio de un perfil más delgado, controles táctiles y autorotación de la pantalla.

También dispone de enfoque automático, detector de caras, conectividad HSDPA, puerto USB y la ranura para tarjetas Memory Stick.

Sony Ericson has been creating many series of phones and one among them is the T series. The people around the world have been waiting for the release of T series mobiles from Sony Ericson. Most of the phones in this T series are of very high quality. They offer great value for money. One such mobile is Sony Ericsson T707.
