This morning I had a late breakfast date with my good friend, Chris. He introduced me to this adorable French bakery, and it’s a shame that I haven’t been to it yet, given that I live so close and I’m always at the plaza that it’s in! L’amande is located inside Rolling Hills Plaza in Torrance.
I had a cafe au lait ($3.00 for a small, $3.95 for a large), a raspberry and cream cheese croissant ($3.95), and a side of fruit. Chris had a feta and spinach croissant ($4.50) and a cup of espresso ($1.95 for a small, $2.50 for a large). My cafe au lait, meaning coffee with milk in French, was delicious. It was strong, and the bitterness was subtle. My croissant was alright. I wish there was more filling in it, because the raspberry cream cheese was so yummy. I will be definitely coming back to try all their other croissants, though (they have a whole line of them!).
This bakery also includes savory breakfast/brunch meals, such as french toast, omelettes, salads, sandwiches and more! I’ve heard many good reviews on their food, so I’ll be checking those out in the near future as well. An update awaits! Until then, happy eating!
