dispite all the cold and snow work on the new headland seems to be moving ahead very quickly over the last couple of weeks.

It is promised that much of Blackpools stunning new £70 million sea front will be open in time for the holiday season.

The whole project stretching from south to north piers and including 5 new headlands is expected to be completed next year.

TTower Festival Headland steams ahead

The funding applications for the much anticipated Tower Festival Headland were recently submitted to the North West Development Agency (NWDA). The bid for over £7m of NWDA and European Regional Development Funding will now be assessed by the agency.

The Tower Festival Headland project will create a unique open-air space with the capacity to host a range of performances from local community productions to large scale 20,000 spectator concerts.

Work continues on the new sea defences infront of the Tower.
