Milletin yeni gözdesi Windows 7′nin Service Pack 1′i için hazırlıklara başlanmış Microsoft tarafından. Gerçi ben yeni kurdum büssürü güncelleme yaptı. Her açışımda kapanmıyor alet güncelleme yüklüyorum fişi çekme diyor. Neyse aramızda Windows 7′yi kurmak için sp1′ini bekleyenler vardır. Bu tarihler onlara gelsin: SP1′in betası 2010 Ocak’ta çıkar diyorlar. XP zaten yeterli. Ha Vista kurulu yeni laptop almışsınızdır. O zaman format atıp Windows 7 kurulabilir. Kurulum gayet basit zaten.

Striving to deliver the world’s best WebScheduler product, we continue to enhance and add more

Striving to deliver the world’s best WebScheduler product, we continue to enhance and add more new features based on your feedback with the objectives to provide more advanced scheduling functionality — making your web development faster and easier than ever. In this post, I will share some new features and enhancements that we’ve made in the latest service pack. These new enhancements and features are included in Intersoft WebUI Studio 2009 R1 SP1 or the latest build of WebScheduler released this month.

New Client Side Events

OnCalendarCellClicked
This client side event will be invoked when a calendar date is clicked.

New Client Side API

SetCallOutWidth(width)
This method is used to set the width of WebScheduler’s callout. Please note that the “width” parameter should be integer.

SetCallOutHeight(height)
This method is used to set the height of Webscheduler’s callout. Please note that the “height” parameter should be integer.

New Properties

UseAgendaDetailsCollection
This property indicates whether WebScheduler should use the AgendaDetailsCollection property property instead of the default/built-in details. For an instance, we can hide the default details completely by simply setting the UseAgendaDetailsCollection property to true and leave the AgendaDetailsCollection empty. This property exist in ViewSettings >> AgendaView. To learn more, please head to Customize Agenda View in WebScheduler

DisplayViewOnMyCalendarLink
This property indicates whether “View on my calendar” button should appear or not in Agenda view. This property exist in ViewSettings >> AgendaView. To learn more, please refer to Customize Agenda View in WebScheduler

DateHeaderMode
This property determines which date header mode that should be used in Timeline view. When displayed, this property introduces 5 options. Since WebScheduler build 220, there are 2 new options (DayNameAndDateNumber and ShortestDayNameAndDateNumber) added to DateHeaderMode. This property can be found in ViewSettings >> TimelineView. To learn more, please refer to Customize date header in WebScheduler Timeline View

That’s all for now — hopefully you find these new features and enhancements useful for your scheduling web application development. As usual, please feel free to post your questions, thoughts or feedback about WebScheduler in our forum.

Yahoo

Well I kind of did this just for fun since I already took a look at Windows 7, Vista, and XP I thought I would look at ME, the spiritual ancestor to XP. Windows ME was released for one thing, to be a home operating system, unlike Windows 95 and 98 which were designed to do both home and work. ME was all about digital media and at the time it was just really taking off. My first Windows based computer would run Windows 3.11 Windows for Workgroups and then later Windows 95. My parents would have Windows 98 and 98 SE and I got a computer with ME. I hated 98 with a passion. I constantly had problems with their computer and it seemed to me like I had less problems with ME. This may be due to the fact that I was running an Intel Pentium 4 and they were running an AMD K6-2, I told them to get Intel but they did not listen, and it was the last time they did not listen to my advice I might add. Anyway for me growing up with 3.11 and 95, ME felt just like them, yeah a little buggy but I used it for years and did not give it up until after Service Pack 1 was released for XP because I still had programs that would not run in XP even with the compatibility tab options. It is also interesting to note that Windows 2000 was released on February 17, 2000 while Windows ME was released on September 14, 2000 so ME is newer than 2000 and that is why there are different features between the two, also Microsoft was already combining the Home and Professional lines of Windows into one product. So let’s take a look at where we came from, let’s look at our past and check out my list of five new features in Windows ME.

1. System Restore was a good edition to Windows, however it did have a nasty habit of backing up viruses, spyware, and all. It was a step in the right direction and saved my butt a few times. Take a look at the interesting interface that seemed to not fit into ME at all.

System Restore in Windows ME

2. Compressed Folders, finally Zip file support was a part of Windows. I still use this to this day. I think this was the best thing about ME and was glad to see it stay in every Windows version since.

Compressed Folder in Windows ME

3. Windows Movie Maker was started in Windows ME. This little program was actually pretty neat considering it came with the operating system unlike iMovie for Mac which was part of iLife which was purchased separately. iMovie was much better than Movie Maker but Movie Maker still did basic editing. This program would evolve as Windows did and now is a separate download for Vista and 7. You can download the new version of Movie Maker at http://download.live.com/moviemaker

Windows Movie Maker in Windows ME

4. MSN Messenger, Windows ME was the first version of Windows that came with MSN Messenger. It was replaced in Windows XP by Windows Messenger and in Vista all that was left was an icon to download Windows Live Messenger. I remember using MSN Messenger to talk to my friends on Hotmail a lot when I was younger. You can download the newest version of Windows Live Messenger for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 at http://download.live.com/messenger/

MSN Messenger in Windows ME

5. Windows Media Player 7, while Windows Media Player is not new, this was the first one to have a skin to it that would become familiar. Windows Media Player went from looking like any other program to being something that stood out and was a lot more functional. While the newest version, version 12 is not available for download yet you can get version 11 for Windows XP at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

Windows Media Player 7 in Windows ME

It is interesting to see where we are today in computing and look back at where we were. I wonder what will come next as we move on. I hope you enjoyed this blast from the past. I sure did.

Don’t forget to check out my list of five new features in Windows 7

Okay, this is just going to be a short blog post. Well, to be honest since Saturday in the late afte

Okay, this is just going to be a short blog post. Well, to be honest since Saturday in the late afternoon, around about 11:30pm, my computer decided it’d be a good idea to blow up. So yeah that is how much I managed to avoid my Nuclear Meltdown… by breaking it anyway.

So, I tried and tried to get it to work but instead it didn’t comply. No, it just sat there and gave me a look of “LOL! Look at you, being an arse, trying to fix me… you can’t work a computer… HA!”. So I cried, turned it off and went to sleep at half past mindight.

I woke up, booted it up and hoped it was all a horrible dream. Of course not, that would mean the world would actually like me. Of course not, MADNESS! So, I carried it downstairs and got my mum to take a look at it. So, she picked the super restart from the beginning (good thing I backed up all those files I gave a crap about) (phillipe stark? Is he any relation to Tony Stark?). I set it all back up again and then downloaded AVG… oh look, the internet stopped working… well, by internet I mean internet explorer and also AVG wouldn’t connect to the update server. So I decided to let my mum deal with it whilst I played Simpsons Road RAge on the gamecube for the lols.

Eventually my brother came downstairs and fixed it all… So, after YET another restart from the beginning, it started again, and we started it AGAIN! The first thing we downloaded was Firefox then my brother started a long line of downloads. Slowly they rolled in, eventually ZoneAlarm rolled in and I tried to install it. OH FUCKING LOOK! I need Service Pack 1 installed, and do you know what? I’m still trying to download it now… yeah, it sucks doesn’t it. So I downloaded nearly everything I had, again. Well, there are actually LOADS of things which I probably still need to download… and bookmarks and settings I need to deal with *cough UAC cough*.

So, today at around about… 6… well, earlier, my service pack 1 download stopped (again!) at about 81%… it had said 28 minutes left for 30 minutes, so I was a bit suspicious. So, I decided to restart my computer so all the new things could be put to new. But… of course, I can’t do anything without it going wrong. I typed in my password and then it broke… well, by broke I mean it froze on the “Welcome” message… with the circle that never stops spinning and spinning and spinning.

So, I brought it downstairs in the 1 minute time limit (or less) that my battery lasts for… and failed… So after much arguing between parents and talking over each other… they decided to go back in time to 1984… I mean 5:47. And here I am.

Now that I restarted my computer from the start, the touchpad mouse now works again. Which is both good and bad primarily because I haven’t had it for ages, so I have grown accustomed to just throwing my hands about and using the buttons as an elbow rest… so I end up clicking on all sorts. It also means I can now use it AS a laptop (well, if the battery lived longer than 1 minute. It also means I can sort of lazily do stuff… I just need to get used to the touch pad again. I keep on clicking whilst I am moving and stuff…

Well, hoping it all goes well and the SP1 download doesn’t break again… I may be able to write another blog off at some point in the near future giving a better view of what happened in my week.

Who knows, the crap I ordered may have turned up by that time, which would be fun. So I can always hope for that… and enjoy some scud. As well as some other stuff… Tomorrow will have it’s ups and downs…

Chapter 6 of IronPython in Action covers “properties, dialogs, and Visual Studio”. This

Chapter 6 of IronPython in Action covers “properties, dialogs, and Visual Studio”. This seemed an obvious place to insert the material on user-interface design that is normally covered in the course, and to look a bit more deeply than the textbook does at Visual Studio itself (and the Windows Forms controls and their properties). I only scheduled a single week to cover this, but I suspected that it might take more than one (I left an empty slot in the schedule to cover one such over-run), and that was, indeed, the case. The students received notes [PDF], slightly longer this week (covering the UI design material not in the textbook, as well as the usual chapter summary, key points, and examples, and the steps required to install IronPython support in the ‘Experimental Hive’ Visual Studio SDK), and a fairly simple lab exercise [PDF].

The recommended reading for this week (which I didn’t get a chance to mention, but is listed in the course material) is a very light-hearted comparison of different programming languages (somewhat old, so the students probably don’t actually know many of these, but I like the underlying truths – I guess I should have tried to add languages like Ruby, PHP and Javascript myself) and a Wil Shipley article about the fast/good/cheap trade-off. I really enjoy Shipley’s style of writing, but even if I didn’t, I’d include this article: the point about there being many dimensions (brevity, features, speed, time, robustness, flexibility, …) and that you can’t have them all is really important for starting developers to understand. However, even more than that, I really agree with Shipley’s contention that you should always start with brevity.

The first half of the class is straight from previous offerings of the course (although a little condensed), and is basically just a 90 minute talk about user-interface design, aimed at non-designers. As previously, I use the points from Tog’s First Principles of Design as the outline, although I talk about more than just what’s in the article (and only skim over some parts of it). The course isn’t really about UI/UX design, but it is an important element, and I try to emphasise it in some way each week (and many of the recommended reading articles are about some sort of UI/UX design). For the two projects, the students will have to complete not just a development design document, but also a UI design, including an explanation of why they made the decisions they did. Historically, this is notoriously badly done for the first project, with most students (despite my emphasis when outlining the project, and giving them a marking schedule) submitting nothing more than a screenshot of a Visual Studio mock-up. For the first project, all I really need to see is that they’ve considered something, rather than just thrown things together – by the end of the course, I expect that they should be able to put something together that is a reasonable UI. There has historically been an examination question on this topic as well – something along the lines of “outline three important considerations in user-interface design”.

The biggest issue was in installation – again! I carefully tested running through the installation on a clean copy of the Windows image they have. It was slow (so I recommended doing it before coming to class, and planned to kick it off at the start and only start using it a couple of hours later, after the UI talk), but worked fine. I forgot, however, about the Northtec proxy server that blocks so much Internet functionality. There were basically three steps required to get the “Experimental Hive” version of Visual Studio running with IronPython (1, unfortunately) support: install Visual Studio 2008 SP1, install Visual Studio 2008 SDK, compile the IronPython sample.

The Visual Studio SP1 installer is one of the “stub” installers that are popular in some circles – i.e. it’s a very small installer that then downloads whatever is necessary to complete the installation. While there are some merits in this approach, it doesn’t work well in all situations: this was one of those. It seems that the service pack installer only support proxies that provide auto-discovery, which the Northtec proxy does not. That left two alternatives: force the students to download and install the service pack (many hundreds of MB) outside of the lab, or use the .iso version of the SP. I downloaded the .iso (830 MB!), and that installed without problem in the lab. However, I don’t really have a convenient way to distribute files of that size among the class (generally the files I provide are quite small) – if I had realised this in advance I could have had it added to the file server, but that wasn’t really feasible in the time available.

I had to fall back to copying the files on to a USB drive (1GB, so max’ing it out) and distributing them via sneakernet. Figuring out all of this (around the actual teaching) took most of the class, so when I left I had only got this far (i.e. halfway through step 1 of 3). The SP installation should be trouble-free (but will probably take 30-60 minutes), so the students should have that done by next class. We’ll continue with the SDK installation (~120 MB standard installer) and IronPython compilation at that point. Next year, I’ll make sure that SP1 is installed on the image, side-stepping this whole problem (I hadn’t got to testing software installation when the images were created this year, because I knew that I wanted the students to do installation themselves). Of course, I could be really lucky, and Visual Studio 2010 might include built-in IronPython support.

We were able to use Visual Studio in the method described in IronPython in Action, however (creating class libraries in Visual Studio and subclassing in IronPython). I think the students found this less appealing that I do – moving the generated .dll around was problematic for some of the students, for example. I suspect that even though using IronPython directly in Visual Studio is problematic (e.g. stuck with IronPython 1) many students will elect to do that.

To me, properties seem a bit like decorators and lambdas, in that they are slightly advanced Python, and perhaps a bit ahead of where the students generally are in D520. However, we certainly covered properties in Visual Basic, and the fundamentals are the same, really. The MultiDoc example was very useful here, in that it uses properties to implement observers, so there was a practical use for properties, rather than the toy examples that are often used in explaining why you’d want to hide your attributes behind getters and setters. I think that the students understood the general idea. As part of this, I briefly covered the observer pattern, as outlined in the textbook – perhaps it’s just the work that I’ve done, but I come across observers all the time, so I tried to get across the importance of this idea.

My plan at this stage is to find somewhere in the schedule where I can insert an “Advanced Python Refresher”, where the students can take another look at decorators, properties, lambdas, and anything else that comes up along these lines. I doubt many (maybe any) students will use these techniques in their projects, but I do expect that they’ll feature in the final examination – and will probably be a good indicator of the good programmers (those that really understand programming and might end up doing it professionally) versus the good students (those that put in enough effort to get through, but are really suited for other IT jobs – sysadmin, testing, managing, etc).

Chapter 6 has nicely thorough coverage of the very versatile MessageBox, but it’s not really overly complicated to use, if you have a list of the icon and button options available (as in the book, or on MSDN). Since we’ve seen MessageBox a few times already, I skipped over this material, focusing instead on the custom dialogs. The chapter also has a section on serialising in .NET – the students are already familiar with the pickle module, so this is really just a .NET version of something they already know. I originally intended to cover this next week, but if time is short again, I might just skip it completely (since they can easily use pickle instead).

We ran out of time before I could really go over the MultiDoc code from Chapter 6, so I left that for the next week.

The lab exercise was just redesigning the Airline application used in earlier labs. There were two aims here – firstly to get the students to try out the various controls that are available (it’s easier to explore in Visual Studio, even if you end up using the controls in hand-written code). Secondly, the students must design their projects, including the UI, and submit that design. This doesn’t just mean ’sketch the UI’ – it means consider and explain the reasons behind the UI decisions – hopefully the lab started students on the road to doing this properly in the project.

Could Windows 7 accomplish everything that’s expected of it? Probably not, but it makes a damn

Could Windows 7 accomplish everything that’s expected of it? Probably not, but it makes a damn good attempt. We’ve tested the gold master, the final version going out on October 22. Upgrade without trepidation, people. With excitement, even.

Windows 7 is not quite a “Vista service pack.” It does share a lot of the core tech, and was clearly designed to fix nearly every bad thing anyone said about Vista. Which ironically puts the demon that it was trying to exorcise at its heart. What that means is that Windows 7 is what Vista should have been in the public eye—a solid OS with plenty of modern eye candy that mostly succeeds in taking Windows usability into the 21st century—but it doesn’t daringly innovate or push boundaries or smash down walls or whatever verb meets solid object metaphor you want to use, because it had a specific set of obligations to meet, courtesy of its forebear.

That said, if you’re coming from Windows XP, Windows 7 will totally feel like a revelation from the glossy future. If you’re coming from Vista, you’ll definitely go “Hey, this is much better!” Read the full article on Gizmodo.Com

I attempted to install Vista in my PC. But I ended up facing numerous problems during the installation process. However, I tried to grab hold of various techniques through the internet to create Vista installation smoothly. But, errors are a part of any installation procedure and it is bound to take place if you are not aware of certain technicalities.

Keep in mind that if there are no OS in your PC and you are trying to install Vista in your computer, you might face errors in Vista installation. To avoid such Vista installation errors, you should tap Customs on ‘Which type of installation do you want?’ This will enable you to perform a clean installation.

If you wish to upgrade your current Windows version to a 32-bit Windows Vista, it is important for you to exit the present set-up, restart your system with installed Windows version and then commence the process with the Windows Vista installation.

On the other hand, if you want to update a 64-bit Windows Vista, there are high chances of errors in Vista installation . Methods and instructions are clearly provided in the net to avoid these errors. You should thoroughly go through these processes for error-free upgradation process.

In order to avoid Vista installation error , you should install all data on the computer before running the installation process. After the upgradation, restore the data in the newly installed Vista system. This will remove Vista installation errors.

Recently I bought a system which was configured with SP1 and Windows Vista Home Basic. I had picked up a Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 from one of my friends. I never expected a Vista installation error when I took the software. Nonetheless, the upgradation was smooth for sometime. However, errors in Vista installation started taking place with copying and migrating.

Some of the points which must be kept in mind during these situations are:

Try to run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor in your system.
In an attempt to shun Vista installation errors, do not install a third party security system which might interfere with your PC.
Watch out that your installation media is not scratched or damaged.

These measures are likely to rid you of all possible Vista installation errors.

As some of you may know, I am a blogger over at Fatlace for their Hellaflush and f/stop channels. Applicably to Unscene Media Group and The Car Park, “Hellaflush” is a movement within the car community that stresses very aggressive wheel fitment and suspension stances and “f/stop” focuses on the art of photography and techniques on achieving the images you want out of the camera. If you want to learn more specifics of what Hellaflush really means, check out the footage from the first Hellaflush g2g (courtesy of Phil from 360).

Anyway, I’ll be bringing you some Hellaflush goodness to add to the different flavors you see here on The Car Park. From the crazy g-force track setups to the street kings and all the way down to mopeds and alternative transportation, you’ll see it all on here. Here’s the latest from Hellaflush:

“SSR Professor SP1s manage to look fresh on tons of cars, but there are a handful that they just belong on. On this IS250, they manage to look aggressive and classy, which to me is the perfect combo on a car like this. In order to get these SP1s to fit proper, some fender rolling was needed, but the end result was perfection.

Chris is running 19×9 +26 up front (with 225/35/19s) and 19×10 +19 in the rear (with 245/35/19s)”.
