Well recently I started playing through Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition again and realized just how much I loved the game, and then thinking back was ashamed at myself for not playing through it again on a higher difficulty than easy. But, hey, can you blame me? If you’ve ever played it you’d know just how damned difficult this game can be. But needless to say I am playing it on Normal this time and it is kicking my ass…. HARD. I got to about Mission 11 and got stuck on a boss and after that decided to start over with Gold Orbs instead of Yellow, because if you choose yellow you have to buy continues, but is you choose gold the orbs bring you back t life instantly, and you have infinite continues. ANYWAYS, realizing how much more of a badass Dante is in the prequel mainly because of the fact he’s a pompous asshole, when I finish the game again I may have to do a review on the trilogy. All three games.

And this part was just thrown in there for the pure reason of “why the hell not” an update. My week was generally boring and there wans’t anything to really talk about except my rediscovering of DMC3. I’m reading two books one is Digital Fortress by Dan Brown and The Lost Symbol also by Dan Brown. I’m on about page 200 in Digital Fortress, and page 13 on The Lost Symbol, eh, what can I say once I got further into Digital Fortress I couldn’t stop reading it was so invigorating, but after I finish Digital Fortress there will be a review, expect the same for The Lost Symbol.

Goodnight and good luck

Well since I’ve been reviewing some of my favorite games lately, I’ve decided to write a review of another favorite of mine… Devil May Cry. Well unfortunate for me that I don’t have a PS2 so I am not able to play DMC1 and DMC2. For some reason Capcom didn’t port those 2 to the pc. But I’m hoping to play those 2 using an emulator sometime. So I am gonna start of with Devil My Cry 3.

Well just to give you a little background, Devil May Cry started of as a supossedly sequel to the Resident Evil Series, which is one of my favorite as well. But since the gameplay and plot of the game differs a lot to the main RE series, they decided to make it an entirely new game of it’s own. We are lucky that Capcom didn’t decide to scrap the idea, like what happened to RE 1.5 and RE 3.5(hooked man), and now we have Devil May Cry. There is a strange timeline to this game as the games were released not in their chronological order. DMC3 is supposed to be the first of the series, followed by DMC1, DMC4 and DMC2.

DMC3 introduce us to Dante who is just starting of his business as a devil hunter. Here he goes on to stop his twin brother, Vergil, from using the power of Sparda. At the end, it was actually the Jester who’s playing with them all along and shows up as the true enemy. But the game doesn’t end without an epic Dante and Vergil fight. This game also introduce us to Mary(Lady), although she is not playable the whole game.

The diffculty of this game is really high. But I’m proud to say that I’ve finished this game on my own. Although some of the secret mission I was not able to complete. As Dante, you’ll have to fight through numbers of monsters and bosses from the underworld. On the PC, which is where I’m playing, the controller for some reason is not fully compatible with the game. Even the keyboard keys can’t be change. So I had to use Joy2Key in order to sync my controller to the game. The big bonus for the pc version is that you get to play as Vergil if you manage to beat the game. But I find it difficult to use Vergil sometimes as his moves are different to Dante’s. Aside from the controller issue, all in all the game is fun, action packed and entertaining. I actually wanted to upload some gameplay videos but I’m not sure what would be the best recorder that I can use. If you know a good one, please let me know. My score for the PC version would probably be 8.5. I had to deduct some points for the controller issue and because of the mid quality videos.

– e o DVD do Dante.

Sua empresa, Devil May Cry, é o local onde trabalha e vive.

The story of Sparda and his devil hunting son Dante have been told since Capcom released the origina

The story of Sparda and his devil hunting son Dante have been told since Capcom released the original Devil May Cry on the PlayStation 2 and the series has since become one of their most popular IPs. Devil May Cry 4, the latest iteration into the series was released a few weeks ago for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles and is also set to be released on the PC in the near future. So does it live up to its pedigree? Or is it simply yet another sequal released with flashy, next-gen graphics?

After careful deliberation, I decided to go for the Xbox 360 version of the game, mainly because it was £10 cheaper. Actually, only because it was £10 cheaper – I would’ve bought the PS3 version if they were the same price, if only because I’ve played previous games in the series on the PS2 and so am used to playing Devil May Cry games with the Dual Shock (or SIXAXIS, for now…) controller. So nevertheless, I parted with my hard earned cash and picked up the game. I will say that I had to trouble whatsoever with using the 360’s controller over the SIXAXIS and I took everything I knew from playing Devil May Cry 3 into this new game and I had no trouble whatsoever in adapting. I could High Time, Stinger, Air Hike and so on without any trouble at all. Speaking of controls, they feel as silky smooth as ever throughout Devil May Cry 4 and are easily one of the games best points when combined with its combat system, which in turn is one of the best ever created for a video game. There’s so much personality and originality in each move, combo and style that it becomes a beast unto itself. Each move feels sublime and smooth, and the amount of personalisation with combos that can be implemented is insane. However, the controls lack in certain areas: maneuverability during jumping sequences is a big one and you can tell that the controls weren’t designed with this in mind. But it’s a small flaw when you take into account the awesome gameplay that permeates the fight sequences.

As you most likely already know if you’re reading this, you don’t begin the game as Dante. In fact, you only play as him for about a third of it. In contrast to previous games in the series, you play a large chunk of Devil May Cry 4 as Nero, who look strikingly similar to his predecessor, but whose story and origin is never really touched upon throughout the game. Something that perhaps may and should be rectified in the inevitable sequel. Nero plays relatively similar to Dante, but with one major difference: the Devil Bringer. This mighty tool allows Nero to perform throws on enemies, which look particularly cool, as well as grab and bring them towards him. Something you sometimes miss when playing his Dante. And speaking of the aforementioned story, Devil May Cry 4 tries to make it emotional and powerful, but it doesn’t really work. The voice acting and script is typical Devil May Cry – it’s pretty bad, but really good at the same time. If really depends on your taste. Capcom’s game is like a typical Hollywood Summer blockbuster in this regard. The writing isn’t going to win any Oscars and is full of cheesy lines, but it fits in well into this type of over-the-top game. The story itself is… okay, but not great. It gives you a purpose within the game, but never really stands out as being one of its strong points.

Devil May Cry 4 is a graphical treat. All the enemies move smoothly and realistically (well, as realistically as a demonic, possessed scarecrow can) and the textures are smooth and detailed. The only downpoint to the graphics is that some of the lighting is pretty poor, particularly in the forest part of the game. Believe me, you’ll notice it when you see it. The sound is also good, but the music can grate and become repetitive at points, particularly during the fighting and the voice work…, well, the actors tried their hardest with the lines they were given!

So, would I recommend buying Devil May Cry 4? If you haven’t played the originals then be in for a surprise: this game is no walkover. You begin with the choice of two difficulty settings: Human and Devil Hunter. I went straight into Devil Hunter and completed it without too much hassle. I then blitzed the Human difficulty to stack up on red orbs. Currently I’m making my way through Son of Sparda, effectively the hard mode. So yeah, those who haven’t played Devil May Cry before may struggle a bit on Devil Hunter, but for those who have this is probably the easiest game in the series if you ignore the second game.

Good points:

Awesome fighting system with plenty of scope for creating your own combos and techniques

Smooth controls for the fighting

Gorgeous graphics and smooth animations

Good difficutly level for those who haven’t played the game before; it’ll be a challange, but not an impossible one

Cool action cut scenes set the tone

New character, Nero, plays well and creates some differentiation from previous titles in the series

Bad points:

Bad lighting effects

The controls don’t work for outside-combat jumping and platforming

Playing as Dante means you effectively do the game backwards – including bosses

Bad and uninteresting story

So despite its flaws, Devil May Cry 4 is a quality action titles and I would recommend it to both players of previous games in the series and newcomers. You will thoroughy enjoy yourself with this title.

Graphics: 9.2/10

Gameplay: 9.1/10

Sound: 8.3/10

Lifespan: 8.5/10

Overall: 8.8/10

Devil May Cry 4 is the second sequel (Devil May Cry 3 being a prequel) to the Capcom action game Dev

Devil May Cry 4 is the second sequel (Devil May Cry 3 being a prequel) to the Capcom action game Devil May Cry. It was announced in March 2007 that the game would be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and later PC. A demo for Devil May Cry 4 was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store on January 24, 2008.

In the game, the player controls Nero, the game’s protagonist, in addition to an appearance by series lead Dante, fighting demonic enemies in close combat using firearms, swords and a variety of weaponry in a horror setting. Also joining the cast is new female character, Kyrie. Capcom has also revealed three new characters, Credo, Gloria and Agnus, along with returning characters Lady and Trish.

Playable characters

On September 6, 2006, Japanese video game magazine Famitsu reported that series star Dante will not be the protagonist in Devil May Cry 4. Instead, a new character named Nero, voiced and motion captured by Johnny Yong Bosch, will take the lead. Nero resembles both Dante and his twin brother, Vergil, and is part of the Order of the Sword, a group of warriors who worship Sparda.

Nero’s attire consists of blue jeans, a long blue coat, and a red vest with a hood. He wields a revolver named Blue Rose, which has a distinctive under-and-over double barrel, and a decorated single-edged sword called the Red Queen. Nero views Dante as the antagonist, after witnessing the devil hunter murdering members of the Order. Gameplay videos and screens reveal Dante to be a boss enemy in the game.

Nero’s right arm seems to resemble a demon’s and glows supernaturally, and is the source of his “Devil Bringer” power. He apparently was not born with his arm in this state, and hears voices demanding “more power”. Nero also has his own “Devil Trigger” transformation, which consists of a demonic spirit hovering above him. Capcom promotional videos have revealed that the spirit will mimic Nero’s actions and that the Devil Bringer moves will change if the Devil Trigger is active while they are used.

Dante, the primary character in the franchise, will also be playable and will have updated versions of the core animations used in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, as well as that game’s four basic fighting styles of Trickster, Royal Guard, Gunslinger and Swordmaster, which can be switched at will. Game Informer reported that he will not just be an unlockable, but will be playable, as part of the storyline. Capcom promotional videos have revealed that, like Nero and the first Devil May Cry, the properties of his moves will change if the Devil Trigger is activated. Out of the 20 missions available, Dante is playable for 7 of them. Returning weapons in his arsenal include the Rebellion sword, the Ebony and Ivory handguns, and the shotgun, but he will be able to acquire new Devil Arms with the defeat of bosses.

Nathan Spencer is the Bionic Commando

Super Joe is back. But this time they gave him the queer ass name of Nathan Spencer. His name was Super Joe, and he touched my soul. He is as responsible for my multiple versions of substance abuse, addiction to meaningless distracting pursuits, and absolute insensitivity towards various forms of violence, racism, sexism, fascism, and iz-ism.

But enough of that. In Bionic Commando you play as a lone soldier taking on an army (called the Badds in the 80s). With a gun in one hand and a coiled arm composed of the most modern technologies, you are a one man shit kicking crew. You go in and take names.

But now it’s 2008, and what was cool on the NES ain’t gonna fly. As a result, we’ve got a suped up, albeit 2D, version of the original game. The arm has extra abilities, such as the ability to tear an enemy’s cover away from him. The guns are more plentiful and pack that much more of a punch. And the action is every bit as fast and furious as its always been. Oh and check out the visuals. 2D has never looked more betterer.

Bionic Commando ReArmed is going to be available for download on both XBox Live and the Playstation Network. In addition to this reworked 2d model of the game, there is a full on 3d version of the game on the way as well.
