Tuesday my Lady and I took off to Nashville to go see her endocrinologist and thankfully she doesn’t

Tuesday my Lady and I took off to Nashville to go see her endocrinologist and thankfully she doesn’t have cancer. I’m relieved and yet we still need to get down to the root of why she’s sick. My Lady is the herbalist from hell and have literally saved lives in the past with her knowledge. She cured wet gangreen in a diabetic, need I say more? Yes, Wendel still has his leg thanks to this woman.
What this means to me is that what is going on with her immune system and endocrin system is only a mater of time from being cured. I’ve watched this woman, she makes good medicine, she dilligently examines her emotions and the ideas that go through her mind. She is a reiki master and I have to say her energy healing is for lack of a better word, phenominal. She’s doing what she can to help herself and I’m doing what I can to help her. Doing what I can usually means releasing my BS and giving her the warmth and steadiness that lets her heal herself. I feel she’s just got too much on her emotional plate.
Salem really cares for and about people. Her kids, their kids, relatives, parents, friends and the occasional person come into contact that needs her, all come under her concern and she does for them what she can. This may sound like saintly philanthropie but it takes a toll. The stress is unbelievable because she cares so much! She gets so little in return too.
I do care, I have the job, and when I can overcome my emotional difficulties I offer her some relief. Gods, the job I have is stressful, the home life is stressful, when not taken care of the relationship is stressful, and what I get out of it is a woman that loves and adores me! She says I smell good! I don’t wear any kind of deoderant and rarely patchulli. I remember my sister throwing fits because I smelled bad to her. Maybe it was the right-guard? Maybe it’s pharamones and she was my sister. Perhaps the pharamones of a sibling repell?

I have an idea about starting a new political party here in America. The Responcible Party, makes freedom the responcibility of the free. History has shown that freedom is worth fighting for because if you don’t fight for it you loose it. People want to know how the government can take away our rights, because nobody will fight to keep them!
Our country was bought at the point of a sword and the end of a musket! Slowly we hand our country over to the politicians in the hopes that political correctness and the dumbing down of America will purchase world peace. What’s wrong with getting angry? What’s wrong with fighting injustice? Why do we feel we as a country must follow the status quo? If our fore-fathers followed the status quo we would all be waiting for tea time and paying exorbitant taxes to a tyranical empire who would have only gotten stronger for the past two hundred thirty-three years.
So I say this, we don’t need to be looking at a bill of rights any more. No, what we must be looking at is a bill of responcibilities! That’s right, Thomas Jefferson wasn’t handing us freedoms he was handing us guidelines for a free nation. You have the responcibility to practice your religeon! You say you are of paticular faith, then don’t be a hipocrit, practice it! And to ensure that you get to practice your faith you protect the right of everyone else to believe what they will and live! You have the responcibility of free speach! If you won’t speak your mind someone will put words in your mouth. Not to say you should be insensitive, just honest and forthcomming. You have the responcibility to bear arms! How much crime would there be in a country if everyone competently carried a handgun? Would a criminal walk into a shopping mall with a rifle if he knew that looking like he was going to shoot someone would result in a hundred guns pointing back? You would have to have a deathwish, and some do, but chances are the deathtoll would be one not twenty.
I could go on and may yet open a site for my new political party, I have a lot of ideas for how this nation could better serve the people it is made of. I really feel you have the gyst.

I want a free country, where the medical community focuses on cures not treatments. Where the buck takes the backseat to the heart. Where greed is a deadly sin and not a virtue. Is that too much to ask? We’re not British after all, and they changed their monitary backed tune. Or so it would seem.

I’ve read this many times but don’t know who the author is; although I have heard it attributed to a Zim pastor who was later martyred.

“I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I’m a disciple of His. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I’m finished with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problems recognizing me… My banner will be clear!“

Mission Impossible – Opinion – PatriotPost.US. Oliver North went from disgrace to a grea

Mission Impossible – Opinion – PatriotPost.US.

Oliver North went from disgrace to a great voice in the Republican party. I am giving you a recent article in the “Patriot Post” that he wrote about the sudden change by the President from his preaching of getting the troops home (top priority i mind you) to his now sudden realization that more need to be sent to get the job done. Huummm… the last guy that said that got the proverbial egg thrown at his face for saying such blasphemy. I love how the liberal minds will say what seems right and then when they get into position do what is needed at a severely slower pace (or what the Republicans told them to from the beginning). They somehow maintain that they have not changed their stance even though when you look at it right in front of them is somehow does not say what it actually does. They would swear we all just do not understand the big picture and need their guidance to get things done. PLEASE!!!!!

How about this… listen to the public more instead of the other way around. Seems we get it right but because it goes against your moral standard we get the beat down from you until you have to make the decision yourself. You then claim it is the same plan all along though you do what we originally told you to and claim it to be your own. Oliver brings some of this to light if you will just read the article and see what I am talking about.

I prefer they just say; “Oh they were right all along!”

Evie has a certain way of saying things. Some of this is just kid stuff, like saying “w”

Evie has a certain way of saying things. Some of this is just kid stuff, like saying “w” instead of “L”, as in “I wove you mommy!” Some of it seems to be more based on her personally, not generic kid pronunciation. This isn’t so crazy; we all pronounce things a little differently, whether we have an accent or not. But I would expect that we would be able to trace the way she says things to the way Sara or I pronounce things. That doesn’t always seem to be the case. (Although this isn’t so crazy either, since it has been well documented that I say “both” as if it had a “w” and an “l” in it (bowlth) even though I have no idea where this came from, since I don’t know anybody who says it that way).

So in Evie-speak, any “oo” sound becomes “ew”, such as “smewch” or the way the ghost lights say “bew”. The exception to this rule is when the “oo” is followed by a “th”, which turns into a “v” and the “oo” gets extended. For example, after I shave, my face is “smooove” and Evie and mommy like to drink “smooovies”. The strangest one is that “yeah” becomes “yay-yah” – like Dave Chappelle doing a Lil’ John impression.

In a completely unrelated note, I mentioned that Evie has this thing where she re-writes her memories of events to suit herself, by asking Sara if she did something, when she knows very well Sara did *not* do that thing. The usual example is me putting on Evie’s socks and shoes to get ready to go, even though she wants Sara to do it. So after she cries and fights me, but I finally get them on, she runs tearfully to Sara and says, “Mommy, did you put on my socks and shoes?” and Sara says, “Yes.” As soon as this happens, Evie stops crying and is just as happy as if she had gotten her way in the first place and Sara really had put on her shoes.

So the other day, it was time to put Evie’s shoes and socks on, and Evie informed us that she would like “Daddy to trick [her]” by putting on her socks and shoes, after which mommy would say she did it. We went about the whole charade, complete with fake crying on her part. And after I got her shoes and socks on, she went to Sara (who had stood right there watching the whole thing) and said, “Mommy, did you put my socks and shoes on?” and after Sara said “Yes,” Evie had a big smile on her face.

Sometimes I wonder who is tricking who.

The next day she took it a step further. This time, I wasn’t even there. She wanted Sara to put her shoes and socks on and then tell her that I was in fact there, and I had tricked her by putting her shoes and socks on and then had Sara tell Evie that it was really Sara who put her shoes on. Except, it really was Sara that put her shoes on! So it was like a secret agent double cross type situation, where she wanted Sara to lie about lying to her and it looped all around again…look, even I can barely keep up with it at this point!

Sorry friends, I have been busy with homework and haven’t been able to post anything lately, b

Sorry friends, I have been busy with homework and haven’t been able to post anything lately, but today I have something to blog about. It’s a bit of a rant so please bear with me. My issue is with the word ask, not because of it being questioning, but because of the way people use it especially when they are in a professional setting or school. I hate it when people say axe instead of ask. How hard is it to make sure the s comes before the k? One thing I can’t stand is when someone in my class is reading a story I wrote and use the word axe instead of ask. I know I spelled it correctly because I spell checked and read over my paper before handing it in. So why is it they pronounce it the wrong way? It really drives me crazy. Where did people learn this, why is it accepted to use this when speaking? Do I not know why because of my age, or are people just getting lazier when speaking and don’t want to enunciate their words properly? I honestly think it’s because people are lazy, I know I may sound like an ass, but being around college age kids all day and listening to them talk, you definitely hear them speaking with slang and lazily saying words, slurring them and sounding kind of dumb. But my biggest pet peeve is the word ask. I just can’t stand it when people say it incorrectly, especially when they are reading something I wrote, because I know I didn’t write it that way. I know that last little bit made me sound like an ass, but I just feel that we need to make sure we, as a society, don’t sound dumber and dumber every time we speak.

Now to talk about something a little brighter. I have been working on a story for about a month now that is really starting to come together. I am really strengthening my writing skills this semester and feel that I am finding my writing voice. Now if people would just not say axe instead of ask I would be satisfied. It is nice though being in the classroom with some of these kids, there are quite a few good writers in my class and it helps to be pushed to be a better writer by the writers around you. I have gotten many ideas from the workshop sessions we have in class where we give words into the circle and place them into our story ideas, I have used many words from these sessions in my stories to make them stronger.

Well I better get back to homework seeing how I only have 3 weeks left of classes and have a ton of it. I will try and keep you posted better in the next few weeks and will let you know if I get any of my stories published.

In this past year President Obama delivered a much anticipated speech to the students across the United States. A large number of school systems gave there students the option to leave and not watch his address if they wished to do so due to the conservatives fears he would spread a socialist agenda. As we all saw, this claim was false; he did nothing but encourage us, the students, to work harder because the future of the United States depends on the students. The students will be the next inventors, problem solvers, and workers to combat the nation’s problems in the future. But in many schools at noon when Obama came on half the students in each the class left the room, not because they disliked Obama and his ideas, but because they didn’t care. They did not care what he had to say, they did not respect the advice of the President. These students who left the room left because they got away from the teachers supervision and did not have to do the assigned work. Instead they were sent into another room with no supervision where they did not do there work and used the time to play around. I find this ironic, that half the classroom leaves to get out of work because they where given an excuse to do so by the Administration of their school system. While President Obama was preaching to America’s students to work hard, to study hard, to do well, and to become the best they can be, the slackers used it as an opportunity to worm themselves out of the work that they were currently assigned. This is ignorance and stupidity. What does this say about the future of America? It does not bode well with me.

He's seated in the bar, where a “Whites Only” swimming pool sign sits underneath a portrait of President Obama.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Alexis Stevens—People come from all over to eat the fresh, fried seafood and drink a cold beer at this small bar on a rural highway at the Paulding-Haralson county line.

But some people just drive by to read the sign outside. It says something different every once in a while, depending on what bar owner Patrick Lanzo has on his mind. Politics are frequent topics, and former President Bill Clinton and congresswoman Cynthia McKinney have been targeted in the past.

“We’re strictly about free speech,” Lanzo says, “but we’re labeled racist.”

The current sign, which has been outside the Georgia Peach Museum and Restaurant for about six months, takes a critical stand against President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan.

But it’s not just a simple message. It contains an “n” word many see as a racial slur. Find that offensive? Well just keep on driving, says Lanzo, who has run the bar for 22 years. (Note: Just for clarity the sign reads, “Obamas plan for health-care: N****r rig it“)

Lanzo contends the word is only labeled “racist” when it’s uttered by a white person. Similarly, he says white people referring to themselves as “crackers” aren’t labeled racists.

Racist or not, it’s a word Lanzo uses often. Many of the statements on his signs have included the word.

Bineinteles, in limba engleza.

More dog-walking inspiration

I was thinking tonight about how much power exists in our words. If being a shaman means we have the power to alter reality then our words make us all shamen or priests or prophets. For our words can inspire others so that their lives are turned around or wound them. I guess in some ways I reiterate the ideas in the song Children will Listen from the play “Into the Woods”

Lyrics

Careful the things you say
Children will listen
Careful the things you do
Children will see and learn
Children may not obey, but children will listen
Children will look to you for which way to turn
Co learn what to be
Careful before you say “Listen to me”
Children will listen

Careful the wish you make
Wishes are children
Careful the path they take
Wishes come true, not free
Careful the spell you cast
Not just on children
Sometimes the spell may last
Past what you can see
And turn against you
Careful the tale you tell
That is the spell
Children will listen

How can you say to a child who’s in flight
“Don’t slip away and i won’t hold so tight”
What can you say that no matter how slight Won’t be misunderstood
What do you leave to your child when you’re dead?
Only whatever you put in it’s head
Things that you’re mother and father had said
Which were left to them too
Careful what you say
Children will listen
Careful you do it too
Children will see
And learn, oh guide them that step away
Children will glisten
Tample with what is true
And children will turn
If just to be free
Careful before you say
“Listen to me”

Children will listen (repeat 3x)

Definitely a lesson that I keep learning with Zev. I make mistakes from time to time and speak from anger or from frustration and it gets hit home very quickly my power to wound or to heal

But then we all have that child within us, that vulnerable character who can hear things that inspire us (sometimes just to keep on keeping on, sometimes to reach heights we never dreamed of) or crush us. People we love and sometimes strangers work their verbal magic on us as we work it on others.

As speakers, let’s use our magic to build rather than destroy. By this, I don’t mean to say that everything we say has to be positive, honesty plays a part in this too, at least I believe it does. It strikes me that as communicators we could do far worse than trying to honour the expression “First do no harm” .

As listeners too, we have power and responsibility also. We all have the ability to take what another person has said to us or within our hearing and twist it to our own ends, using these words to either wound ourselves or justify any maner of outrageous behaviour.

Thank you for pursuing these people as they are ruining my country by spreading disinformation about a socialist, Marxist plot against the American public called Health Care Reform (reprogramming) .
