Tóm tắt truyện:

Hikari Hanazona là con gái của một thợ mộc bình thường và sống trong một gia đình bình thường. Nhưng từ bé đến lớn, Hikari đã luôn khao khát được một lần qua mặt cậu bạn Kei Takishima của mình – trong tất cả mọi lĩnh vực. Cậu ta là con trai cả, đồng thời cũng là người thừa kế đầy tiềm năng của Tập đoàn Takishima lừng danh nước Nhật. Kei luôn luôn dẫn đầu mọi thứ bất kể cậu đang làm gì, và Hikari luôn sôi sục quyết tâm đánh bại cậu bằng mọi giá.

Lúc lên 6, Hikari từng thua Kei trong một trận đấu vật giữa hai đứa. Và bây giờ, khi 15 tuổi, Hikari gia nhập vào lớp “Special A”, một nhóm gồm bảy học sinh đứng đầu một học viện tư danh tiếng. Trừ Hikari, sáu người còn lại không chỉ nổi bật về thành tích vượt trội mà còn về gia thế của họ. Tất nhiên Kei là một trong số đó, với tổng điểm thi luôn cao nhất trường. Hikari sẽ làm cách nào để đánh bại cậu đây?

Nhận định riêng:

Sôi nổi không kém gì Peach Girl hay Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, Special A là câu chuyện thú vị xoay quanh cuộc sống học đường “đầy sóng gió” của nhóm bạn SA. Special A có nét vẽ đẹp mềm mại, không quá trau chuốt và nội dung trong sáng, hài hước ^^

Hikari Hanazono, “cô bé Lọ Lem” của nhóm SA, được yêu mến bởi sự hồn nhiên, chân thành và nỗ lực hiếm thấy ở một cô gái. Hikari trông có vẻ vô tư và bình thường, nhưng thẳm sâu trong cô là sức mạnh của ý chí và niềm tin mình sẽ làm được một điều gì đó, và làm tốt nó, ngay cả khi điều đó thật nhỏ nhặt. Để đạt được ước muốn, Hikari luôn cố gắng hết sức mình, để dù kết quả có thế nào đi nữa thì cô biết mình vẫn sẽ không hối hận.

Cô ấy thật đáng kinh ngạc.

Đó là điều đầu tiên mà Kei Takishima nghĩ khi gặp Hikari. Lớn lên trong ngôi biệt thự khổng lồ của nhà Takishima, Kei được nuôi dưỡng bằng sách vở, vị trí của người thừa kế và bốn bức tường lạnh lẽo của căn phòng tiện nghi bậc nhất. Tình bạn giữa Hikari và Kei là một tình bạn thân thiết kì lạ, và dù cho họ có thường xuyên cãi nhau, thường xuyên thách đấu, thì sợi dây gắn kết cả hai lại với nhau vẫn có thể hiểu được. Và tự bao giờ, tình cảm ấy bắt đầu tiến triển

Trong nhóm SA, Hikari còn được dịp quen biết và kết thân với Toudou Akira, con gái của Tổng giám đốc Công ty hàng không; Karino Tadashi, con trai của Hiệu trưởng Học viện mà cô đang theo học; Tsuji Ryuu, con trai của Chủ tịch Hội đồng quản trị một Tập đoàn xe hơi thể thao; và cặp sinh đôi Yamamoto Jun và Yamamoto Megumi, con trai và con gái của vợ chồng một nhà sản xuất âm nhạc và nữ danh ca. Tất cả năm người đều góp phần làm cho nhóm SA thêm sôi động và tràn ngập những tháng ngày vui vẻ.

Ai mà chẳng có khuyết điểm, và Hikari hiểu cô sẽ cần nhiều hơn là sự cố gắng bình thường để trở thành một thành viên SA. Tuyệt vời thay là cả thảy sáu người đều hiểu Hikari và hiểu những giọt mồ hôi của cô là không hề vô ích. Giữa họ có sự thi đua nhưng không có hiềm khích, ganh tị, cũng không có nỗi buồn nào kéo dài quá lâu. Bởi dần theo năm tháng, họ càng hiểu nhau hơn và thắt chặt tình cảm bạn bè theo cách riêng của mình.

Các nhân vật trong Special A hầu như đều có một đặc điểm chung là họ luôn trân trọng một cái gì đấy và sẽ nỗ lực hết mình để không làm ai đó bị tổn thương. Với Kei, đó là Hikari, cô bạn gái mà cậu yêu quý và hy vọng một ngày nào đó sẽ đáp lại cậu. Với Hikari, đó là bạn bè, đặc biệt là Kei và suy nghĩ phải đánh bại cậu ấy ^^ Với Akira, đó là Hikari và những gì mà Tadashi đã làm cho cô… Tình bạn của họ luôn là điểm sáng cuối cùng, nhưng là điểm sáng nhất đủ sức đánh bật mọi trở ngại và cho họ câu trả lời chính xác với lòng mình.

“Tớ không thể quyết định được. Tớ yêu quý tất cả các cậu. Và chỉ cần các cậu vui thì điều đó với tớ cũng là quá đủ.” (Hikari)

Ngoài ra, đừng bỏ qua cặp sinh đôi thích-viết-chữ-lên-bảng-hơn-là-nói Jun và Megumi, cùng với Ryuu dịu dàng, bạn sẽ bò lăn ra cười nhờ họ đấy ^ ^ Và nếu bạn nóng lòng muốn biết sự tiến triển tình cảm giữa các nhân vật thì hãy kiên nhẫn một chút, vì Hikari thi thoảng vẫn rất ngốc nghếch và chậm hiểu, trong khi Kei lại sĩ diện quá để nói thẳng ra điều đó (mặc dù qua phản ứng của cậu ta thì mọi người đã đoán ra từ lâu rồi) T_T

Một điểm đặc sắc về phong cách Minami Maki là sự phóng đại, nhưng rất hài hước, dễ thương và không quá vô lí. Qua cách thể hiện dí dỏm ấy là một thông điệp mới về sức mạnh. Nó rất gần với cuộc sống của chúng ta hàng ngày. Mỗi người là một cá thể độc lập và chỉ cần bạn là chính mình là đủ. Hãy nỗ lực để không phí phạm từng ngày trong cuộc sống. Và trên hết, Hikari sẽ rất muốn bạn hiểu rằng luôn có bạn bè và luôn ở bên họ là quan trọng như thế nào

So I’ve been rereading Lovely Complex this week, and while I liked it the first time, I liked it even more the second time.  Not only is it entertaining while I’m reading it, but it’s the kind of manga that I keep thinking about later.  Not because it’s deep in meaning or anything but because it was fun to read it, and I want the fun to continue.

That doesn’t, however, mean that I change my views on long series.  Love★Com is fun, but it’s getting close to the time where I think it needs to end.  There are 19 volumes total, I believe, so only four left.  What else Nakahara can manage to fit into four volumes is beyond me, but I suppose it’s doable.

I usually vote for a series to be cut off before 15 volumes, but Love★Com, unlike some other shoujo manga I’ve been reading for this long (Special A), is at least consistent in art, consistent in enjoyability, not too weak in the plot, and was worth a reread.  I like to read my manga multiple times–especially long series I’ve spent money on.  And when the reread makes me hate the manga as much as I do SA, it’s not a good thing.

But anyway, I didn’t intend to make this post long.  I really just wanted an update, and Love★Com is a pretty well-known shoujo series, so I don’t really want to review it in depth.  I just like the silliness of it sometimes.  It’s a manga that makes you feel good, especially when the characters are so stupid!

(And for once I don’t hate their stupidity and lack of communication.  It’s tolerable.)

Special A is a shoujo romantic/comedy. The overall story wasn’t anything special that hasn’t been played out already. It was the basic “I love her/him but they’re to ignorant to see it”. At the beginning of the anime I found myself frustrated with Hikari because she couldn’t take a hint. It was annoying at first, how she always came to the conclusion of ‘Rival’ to explain everything. I was so overjoyed when she finally realized her true feelings, that i almost fell out of my chair. I couldn’t believe it took her that many episodes. In the first episode I thought the characters were drawn kind of awkwardly. Their frames were tall and skinny. In my opinion I would’ve preferred the girls shorter. The way the limbs were drawn also bothered me. They were mainly straight with no curves. You easily get accustomed to it though. Other than that things were fine. The character development was great in this anime. Even though the main focus was Hikari and Kei, each episode was themed around a different character each time. You got to know a lot of background info which helped explain the character’s personalities. Overall it was a decent anime. Lots of laughs. Lots of fun. Pleasure to watch.

It has been quite a mad period, but I managed to finish a couple of fanlistings with a decent layout, to have up some other with a temporary one *sighs* and to update quite a number of pre-existing ones. So, here it is the complete list of what I’ve done:

• Rise Kujikawa has been adopted out to Mei, and Into the West has been adopted out to Patricia, that in this way could crosslist her already existing one
• Vincent Nightray and Hitoribocchi no Sadame reached 50 members, so an award has been added to the both of them ♥ Vincent and Sharon also got one new affiliates, and the existing one has been updated
• Sharon & Break got a new site affiliate, the existing one has been updated, and got 16 new codes:  n.3 for each existing sizes, and n.7 88×31px
• new affiliates added to: Erza, Loki, Luka, Teardrop
• Masaki & Isshin, Harribel, Nnoitra, Neliel & Nnoitra: updated one affiliate and deleted three closed/removed ones
• Luna got a new affiliate, and one has been updated
• All fanlistings has been updated in September

aslında bu animeyi izleyeli ve hakkında yazalı neredeyse bir ay oldu.. şimdiye kadar yayınlamamın sebebi ise yazımı öldüresiye sıkıcı bulmam.. öylesine can sıkıcıydı ki ben bile bir defa okuyup hale yola sokmak yerine sıfırdan başlamaya karar verdim..

Special A oldukça eğlenceli, komik  aynı zamanda da romantik bir anime.. genelde tek bir çift etrafında dönüp duran hikayelerin aksine, yedi kişinin maceralarına tanık oluyoruz.. sıradan bir lisenin en iyi  7 öğrencisi için açılan Special A sınıfında günler oldukça eğlenceli geçmekte.. her gün farklı bir macera.. çay saatleri, randevular .. izlerken bile valla hiç sıkılmadım, hatta bttiğine baya üzüldüm doğrusu.. çizimler o kadar güzel ve havalıydı ki, karakterlerin etrafında dolanan o büyüleyici hava bizlere kadar ulaşıp, kendilerine hayran bıraktı..

hani birden şeker kız candy’de ki Terry’ye aşık olduğum zamanlarıma geri dönüp, Takashima Kei’ye veya ordaki herhangi bir çizgiye gönlümü kaptırıverecektim

animenin en başrollerinde Takashima Kei ve Hikari var.. Kei, Hikari’nin çocukluğundan beri yenmeye çalıştığı yenilmez bir rakip ve iyi bir arkadaş.. Hikari kendini o denli Kei’i yenmeye adamış ki Kei’in aşkının farkında bile değil.. her bölümde ikisinin hikayelerine tanık olurken diğer karakterlerin hayatlarını da izliyoruz.. hepsi oldukça farklı ve kendine has özelliklere sahip kişilikler..

valla Itazura Na Kiss’ten sonra anime çıtamız oldukça yükselmişti fakat Special A beni hayal kırıklığına uğratmadı, oldukça izlenilesi, süper bir anime, devamı olsa bile iyi giderdi bence tavsiye ederim..♥♥♥

Special A Chapter 1

My thoughts on the very 1st chapter of my favorite manga series, Special A! (RAW links at bottom).

WARNING: If you are looking for summaries and texts where you don’t know what’s going to happen next, this is NOT the place to read! These entires are full of spoilers!!! I may do summaries, spoiler free, upon request.
Before I start my real thoughts… Reading the whole series over and over, I must say how impressed I am with the improvement of Minami Maki’s artwork! And the trademark changes of the character designs.
Note that I am getting my info from english scanslated S.A chapters. I need Chapter 13, 14, 16 and 17 RAWS! I have raws for the rest, plus scanslated versions of all chapters of S.A. I will be glad to provide them (I did not scan them). If someone can help me find these chapters, I will sincerely appreciate it!

The hot blooded Hanazono Hikari goes off to school (Shirotsuji Private Academy, whaa??? Not Hakusen?). All of the kids jump to the side, bow and greet her, to her dismay. She tells them to act normal, when (gasp) Takishima Kei, her rival, comes (arrows pointing rank 1 to Kei, rank 2 to Hikari). It explains the school system (and shows this weird girl wearing a ribbon who I have never seen before).

From there they introduce the SA members: Toudou Akira (her ears are astounding!), Karino Tadashi, Yamamoto Megumi, Yamamoto Jun, Tsuji Ryuu (the whistle, haha), Takishima Kei and Hanazono Hikari.
Yadda yadda, Hikari is with the sensei, and he’s depressed because the other S.A members don’t attend class. They share their special grudge against Kei, and it goes into explaining the origin of their rivalry (Hikari’s mother has a ponytail! Kei’s kid hair is waaay different too).
Goes to Hikari and Megumi (the ears, I swear to God, are Barack Obama ears). Hikari questions Megumi’s recital, being so close to the time for the finals. Megumi weakens Hikari by comparing the recital to festivals, which she loves.

Preparing for the recital, some members of the B class arrive with requested items. They get annoyed and accuse Hikari and the S.A of making fun of them, for playing around while everyone else studies hard to get into S.A. Kei comes and defends Hikari, reciting the class B students’ names. He threatens them by asking if they wanted him to recite their home phone numbers, which scares them off (how the hell would Kei get their information?).
Hikari’s studying late at night, determined to defeat Kei on the finals (Akira and Ryuu together. I’m surprised no one has never contemplated them as a couple, no offense to RyuuxFinn, TadashixAkira, or any other pairing). The three seem to have forgotten Megumi’s recital. Hikari goes to the study room, to see Kei, who had read “a couple” of books. It seems Kei magically appeared, but really Hikari had fallen asleep. It had become dark outside. They see a suspicious light coming out of the staff room. Hikari eagerly runs to the light, saying “[she] had caught a thief before”.
Hikari barges into the room, and is shocked to see the B class students from before. They were looking at the questions on the final. They insult Hikari, when Kei comes running does a jumping knee attack to the side of the guy’s head. The angry Kei defends her (how sweet). The two beat up the other guys.
Next day, Hikari gets a perfect score on the test (Akira congratulates Hikari, Tadashi in the background… There’s a lot of these, oh ho ho…). Hikari asks Kei what he got. He gets full marks, PLUS 5. It pisses Hikari off. Ryuu and Tadashi talk, saying “[Kei] really enjoys being chased by Hikari, doesn’t he?”

Whoa, guys’ hairs! And the whole artwork in general. I wonder how I didn’t notice the big change when I first read it (I was probably too busy concentrating on the story or the pairings, haha). I kind of wish there was more fighting later in the series (Akira and Kei beating up Tadashi don’t count).
My first impression of Kei was that he was a conceited know it all jerkwad, until he defended Hikari (the first time, at Megumi’s recital place). Even then, I still thought he was a jerkwad, but in the tsudere way. The 2nd time he defended her, I thought in my head “oh yup, he likes her”. The last page just confirmed it.
I mentioned this before, and I’ll mention it again. Has no one thought of a possibility of a RyuuxAkira pairing? I personally wouldn’t be a fan of this couple (Tadakira all the way!!!), but you see more of Akira with Ryuu then her with Tadashi (only this chapter though).

The last page, I think, is really what keeps the reader interested in this series, although there’s a lot of questions you can ask. Does Hikari know Kei likes her? Does she somehow like him? Why does Kei like her? Why is Akira like that? What’s with Tadashi calling Akira a demon girl? What’s so bad about Megumi’s recital and Jun’s music that made Akira scared and feeling fortunate not to attend their recital? Why doesn’t Megumi speak, and what about that notepad? What’s up with Ryuu’s total control over the twins? The explanation they’ve known each other since they were little doesn’t satisfy.

All of these questions are answered, and new ones asked… Through the next 98 chapters of Special A, by Minami Maki!

Plot Summary: Hikari Hanazono, the main character, has always been second to Kei Takishima. While Hikari considers Kei a rival and somewhat of a friend, Kei loves Hikari. Everyone knows this, but she is too dense to notice. Their wrestling loving fathers first introduced them to one another when they were 6 years old. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him. Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, a sporting event – anything. To do this she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money. Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position.
