Treadmill’s are great for losing weight but can be extremely boring, for this reason if you ever catch me on one i’ll be doing intervals, but don’t ever use it to train for speed or show off your sprinting skills, you may end up face down on it!Check out this vid!I’ve only ever seen this happen once, something about seeing it happen just never gets old……

Wotch ! Une semaine sans poster X___x s’t'ai pas super productif en même temps… Quoi qu’il en soit j’reviens en trombe, avec un portrait super coloré (oué à chaque fois j’fait un coup illu’s sombre, un coup illu’ colorée, s’pas voulus mais c’est comme ça, je compense d’une semaine à l’autre…).

Bon pour ce portrait, du total impro : un brush, la tête vide, la musique dans les oreilles et le stylet dégainé.

On rentre dans un portrait entre intimité et dynamisme. Bon je suis bien décidé à faire enfin des portraits plus vivant avec une pose plus élaborée mais pour le moment c’est surtout de l’entrainement sur le visage et sa texture. J’ai déjà quelques autres idées de painting qui trainent, je sais pas si j’pourrais en faire une mercredi, on verra car j’ai déjà un autre truc sur le feu.

Sinon je continue sur ma lancée et cette semaine je vous fait partager l’album Fantasies de Metric, une ptite découverte récente. D’ailleurs, j’trouve que la chanson Sick Muse de cette album s’associe bien avec ce portrait édulcoré .

Google Chrome OS

Everyone that has used Windows has used Internet Explorer. It is on every single Microsoft Windows PC, but in a recent European court case, users will have to choose to download internet explorer onto their PC or work computer.

On 11th of December 2008, Google publicly released their first version an internet browser called Google Chrome. In just under a year, Chrome has risen to almost 5% of the UK browser market whilst Microsoft’s internet explorer has declined just over 10% within the same time period. Google claims that there are now 40 million worldwide Chrome users.

On the 7th of July this year, Google announced that they are to release their own operating system called Google Chrome OS. So what’s the difference between the browser Google Chrome and the Google Chrome Operating System? Not much…

Google Chrome OS is essentially an internet browser that operates your whole computer. This has some major implications on the way estate agents access, manage and use their work.

Firstly, estate agents and general users will not install any programs onto their computer, all of it will be held in ‘the cloud’ (the internet). Meaning that estate agents do not have to install and manage their own programs, saving space and updating time.

Secondly having the minimum amount is held on the computer means that the start-up time for the beta version is currently a miniscule 7 seconds. No longer will estate agents start their computer, make a cup of tea and then sit around waiting their computer to load or wasting energy by leaving their computer on all night.

The last implication is security. Google boasts that Chrome OS distrusts every program that is run on it as well as not trusting itself while checking the code every time it is restarted so that it can repair itself if it senses something is wrong.

Troy Stanley, CTO of Resource Techniques comments, ‘In the not too distant future, estate agents could take their Google Chrome OS on the road and take it from viewing to viewing.’

‘Within seconds, their laptop will load up and an internet connection will allow them to access ‘the cloud’. Instantly letting estate agents edit any of their work files without having to transfer or re-edit them back at the office.’ – Troy Stanley

Was testing some things in haxe and found 2 facts.

haxe doesn’t convert ints to floats in compile time, so x*2 is few times slower than x*2.0 if x is a float number.
x++ is probably translated as x = x + 1 regardless of it is float or int, so the same thing happens, x++ is few times slower than x = x + 1.0. Same with –.

Both of this facts wasn’t so intuitive for me.

Eldest got home at around 1:30 this morning, and it was about 12:00 when we managed to get him up. Apparently, the party had not been that good, and had ended around 11:00pm. However a friend of his mate got very drunk and they felt obliged to get him home. Hence the very late night.

My Notification of Intended Prosecution came through this morning. It looks like I could get away with going on a ‘Speed Awareness’ course. Hopefully, that will mean I don’t get any points on my licence. It will still cost be £60.00 pounds though, the same as the fine.

Norton AntiVirus is the world’s best-selling security program. However, its performance has been scrutinized over the years – especially from those in the tech community. Symantec began to address these performance concerns with their 2009 version last year – let’s see if this trend continues with Norton AntiVirus 2010…
1) Installation: (4.5 of 5)

Norton AntiVirus 2010 quickly installs in only 54 seconds and requires no system reboots. With its Download Manager and Installation Wizard, Norton is now one of the easiest Anti Virus programs to install. Long gone are the days when Norton used to take 20+ minutes to install and required multiple reboots to install (4-5 years ago).

2) Features & Ease of Use: (4.5)

Norton 2010’s user-interface has a similar look & feel to last year’s version. However, it builds upon previous versions with several new features such as Norton Download Insight and Norton File Insight which warn of dangerous downloads and files which may be threats.

New scanning technologies this year include Norton Insight Network (based on Quorum technology) and SONAR 2 (Symantec Online Network for
Advanced Response). These features are designed to detect whether a file is trustworthy or not based on behavioral and cloud-based data. This should result in
Norton being better able to identify files as being trustworthy or untrustworthy that would have previously fallen into the grey/unknown category. Only time will
tell how these new features perform.

Updates:

10 times more updates than its nearest competitor.

Last year marked the beginning of a new era for Norton, as they finally began to take the performance of their Antivirus software seriously. View the results below of the Antivirus tests we performed this year to see how well the 2010 version of Norton fared against its competition…

3c) Effectiveness: (4 of 5)

• AV Comparatives has 2 major Virus/Malware tests each year. In the most recent test in August, the On Demand Detection Test, Norton was rated 3 out of 3 Stars. In the 2nd test, the Proactive Test, Norton didn’t perform as well – receiving a 2-Star rating. (*AV Comparatives is an independent Antivirus testing lab in Austria providing some of the most trusted Virus detection tests in the industry.)
• ICSA Labs Certified. ICSA is an independent organization that sets standards for security products and certifies anti-virus software.
• Virus Bulletin’s VB 100% Certified. Norton passed the most recent VB100 test (Oct./09), however they did fail the previous test. Of the last 46 tests (going back to November 1999) Norton has passed an impressive 45 of them. The VB 100% award is given to antivirus software that detects all viruses “in the wild.”
• West Coast Labs’ Checkmark Anti-Virus Desktop Certification. WCL specializes in functionality testing, performance validation and Checkmark Certification of security products.

4) Help & Support: (4 of 5)

Symantec’s support has gotten better over the last few years. Previously the only good support was through their paid support systems. Now Symantec offers many
good free support options. The Norton support website is comprehensive and easy to use. The in-program Help Files are informative and also offer step-by-step Tutorials for major issues. The “One Click Support” within Norton 2010 automatically scans your Norton software for known issues and offers suggestions. If this doesn’t help you can use their free Chat, Email or Phone support – however, free phone support is only offered for limited program issues (virus removal and other PC problems require paid support). We tested their Email support and received a thorough response 9 hours later. Overall, despite negative opinions of Nortons support in the past, it has transformed itself into a top-tier support system.

CONCLUSION:

Norton Antivirus 2010 continues on its revitalization path that began last year towards becoming a better performing Antivirus program. Norton 2010 does have a larger installation size and requires slightly more memory than last year’s version, but Norton Antivirus 2010 is still the top of its class in terms of performance. It is now apparent that Symantec is taking the performance of its Antivirus software seriously now as shown by 2 consecutive top-rated versions.

Norton 2010 has several new weapons in its virus-scanning arsenal (Norton Insight Network and SONAR 2) which should better protect against rogue downloads and malicious files. Norton has moved over the last few years to a multi-layered approach to computer security, and its new features this year add yet another layer to your computer’s protection.

Our only real concern with Norton this year is that it did not perform as well in Malware testing as it has in previous years. Norton Antivirus passed all the major tests this year, but it received only 2 out of 3 stars in AV-Comparatives’ May testing (it did receive 3 stars in the August test). Still, despite this result,
Norton is overall the best Antivirus program that we tested.

Norton Antivirus 2010 is a good choice for computer novices and intermediates – for more advanced users we would recommend Norton Internet Security 2010
due to its added Firewall, Anti-Spam, Anti-Phishing, and other capabilities not included in Norton Antivirus – plus it can be installed on 3 computers unlike Norton Antivirus (1 computer).

"The Blind Side": Sandra Bullock Shines In Feel Good Sports And Family Movie

A few of the team from HW Design Inc. were invited to a private screening of The Blind Side last night. Our excitement was high, as one of the female members of our graphic design team has been known to burst into tears, just watching the previews.

The movie does not disappoint. This is a top flight family and date-night film that will have you laughing and crying during the moving story. Sandra Bullock proves why she is one of the most versatile actors of our generation. She pulls you into the story as iron-willed Leigh Ann Tuohy. Her performance allows you to ride the wave of emotion brought out by the amazing, real-life story.

The Blind Side, is directed by John Lee Hancock (The Rookie) and is based on the book by Michael Lewis. The book and film chronicle the real-life story of Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher, who, as a homeless and rudderless teen in Memphis, Tenn., was taken in by the wealthy Tuohy family and enrolled in private school. He went on to become an All-American at Ole Miss and a first-round selection of the Ravens in the 2009 draft. It stars Quinton Aaron as teenager Michael Oher, Bullock, Tim McGraw, Oscar winner Kathy Bates as Oher’s dedicated tutor, Miss Sue and Heather Holliday Richmond. It also features appearances by several past and present college football coaches including Lou Holtz and Urban Meyer.

The movie is a perfect entrance into the Thanksgiving and the Holiday seasons, as watching Oher’s plight makes you thankful for those you love and the blessings you have. It is definitely stirring and causes you to want to take action, as Tuohy’s did. Bring the tissue, as The Blind Side will have you in tears, both from laughter and an endearing feeling for the characters.

Sandra Bullock And Newcomer Quinton Aaron Star In The Blind Side

For 45-year-old actress Sandra Bullock, playing the larger-than-life Tuohy was a challenge. With hits like “Speed,” “The Net,” “Miss Congeniality” and last summer’s sleeper smash “The Proposal,” Bullock has survived in an arena notoriously difficult for women. But, Bullock excels in playing the Southern role. Her accent brings back memories of a young Bullock in, ”A Time To Kill.” You will be left wanting to be like her and dismissing the hatred and bigotry

that she is fighting against for the love of her son.

After making his screen debut as an alcoholic father in the film adaptation of “Friday Night Lights,” Tim McGraw was reluctant to play another dad in a football film. But, this was a more understated and definitely more challenging role as the dependable and supportive father and husband, Sean Tuohy. McGraw’s strength is in his ability to play second fiddle to Bullock’s character, yet make you believe that he has the skills to have made a fortune owning 80+ fast

food franchises.

The Blind Side is Rated PG-13 and opens today, November 20.

Note: The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game is a book by Michael Lewis released in 2006 about the NFL. It features two dominant storylines. The first is an examination of how offensive football strategy has evolved over the past three decades in large part due to Lawrence Taylor’s arrival in the 1980s and how this evolution has placed an increased importance on the role of the left tackle. The second storyline features Michael Oher, the former left tackle for the Ole Miss football team, and current right tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. Lewis follows Oher from his impoverished upbringings through his years at Briarcrest Christian School and on to his position as one of the most highly coveted prospects in college football.
