Today’s Play: Approx. 4 hours of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Satisfied. (8)
Notes: Spiral Knights apparently hit its three millionth account sign up recently, and to celebrate the development team has removed the elevator fees for a few days, meaning the complete freedom to run as many levels as you want. It is the perfect opportunity to run as far as possible through the mission system, and that’s just what I was helping my sister do. It was another occasion where, for a while, all three of my siblings were online at the same time, running levels together. I love having a family of geeks. Senior year is winding down, review packets are wrapping up, and everything is coming to a close.

Today’s Mood: Content. (7)

Notes: It’s been a bit of a slower day after the last few days have been so full of activity. Doing boss runs on Spiral is often a mistake, given the inexhaustible supply of buffoons on the internet. All the same, we made it through. Trying to recover an old world from a server I used to run for Minecraft is proving more complicated than expected. Recovering the world itself is easy, but for some reason the server isn’t letting me sign into my world. Running the original works just fine, so something is funky about the world file itself, I assume.

Today’s Play: Approx. 1 hour of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Fulfilled. (8)
Notes: Stayed for a few hours after school to celebrate with my Insight club the last meeting of the year, and sadly of the club altogether. The wonderful teacher who manages the club, whom we affectionately call “Goodie,” has made the call that the combined workload of the club and the classes she already teaches is too much to handle sanely. In her recognition and celebration, we had a party of a meeting, with a great many alumni appearing as well, and we read various forms of odes we wrote or just bearing our hearts to her on the spot. Somewhat of an emotional time. I also attended the final choir concert of the year, another hallmark for my graduating class. It’s coming far too quickly, I’d say. As a final note, I’d like to remark on a conversation within the Spiral guild. My sisters are going to move out fairly soon, and that fact was mentioned in the guild chat. The first question some members asked was whether the two would still have Internet access so they could continue to be part of the guild. That kind of bond is a good sign for the gaming world.

Notes: A few rough patches in Spiral today, but I decided to do a boss run with a random party, and we blazed right through. It was rather impressive. Presentation in English went off without trouble, and I’m told I did rather well. Now that all I have left are review packets, everything should be a piece of cake.

Today’s Play: Approx. 2 hours of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Hectic, in a good way. (8)
Notes: Accomplished a good deal within Spiral today, running with a guildmate and one of his friends who was actually under-equipped for the area we were delving in, but performed impressively in spite of that. Shows you the level of gear does not a good player make. The hectic comes from trying to clean house and get other details in order for the Spring Formal tomorrow, including putting a dinner together, and trying to get end-of-the-year projects complete as well. These last few weeks have been heavy loads. Of course, if I spent less time playing around, things would probably go better for me…

Today’s Mood: Thoroughly pleased. (9)
Notes: Minor frustrations in Spiral, mostly my own fault. Spent the evening at my friends’ concert, had a wonderful time. One of the pieces they played was actually an arranged piece from Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles, and they did wonderfully! More geek moments! Now i oughta watch that movie again. Hanging out with my best friends afterwards is always a extremely entertaining experience. Got a bunch more work done towards finals, but I accidentally left my binder in my friend’s car. Oops.

Notes: Ap Calc test went about as good as I would have expected. There were some things I couldn’t remember, but I took a swing at every problem and I’m confident in the majority. Playing games with other people, including siblings, is often much more entertaining and rewarding than going solo; demonstrated that for myself in Spiral and continue to do so in Minecraft with my brother on our shared world. Now I need to worry about finishing strong for school, getting Prom in order, find a way to squeeze out more D&D, and not get swamped down or flat out lazy.

Today’s Play: Approx. 1 hour of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Fulfilled. (8)
Notes: Just did my daily runs today in Spiral. Nothing significant to say there. But for the majority of the day after school, I was driving around town with my mother and brother running errands, most of them for Prom preparations. Plenty more driving practice is helpful as the plan is to finally get my driver’s license by the month’s end. I got an Oxford shirt that matches the color my date picked for her dress(compared by a colored scarf), a tuxedo vest, and new dress socks and shoes. Completed by my bow-tie, my mother and sister think I look pretty snazzy. Planning the details of getting groups together is still a headache, but everything should work out as long as people are actually communicating. One other thought, my D&D players are being rather vocal about the lack of gaming in recent weeks. I’m very glad to see that they are upset about it and are eager to get back into the game, but I’m not sure how I can get everything worked out necessary for the game and still keep on top of academics and Prom details. Less time playing video games is likely appropriate.

Today’s Play: Approx. 45 minutes of Spiral Knights and 3 hours of Minecraft
Today’s Mood: Engaged. (8)
Notes: Got a lot of things done today, in- and out-of-game. Finally did a run with another guildie after a long time running alone. It was an excellent change of pace. My brother and I were able to establish a foothold in the Nether, though not without difficulty. Latency seems to plague me within that realm, and during a lag spike I was actually blasted off a narrow passageway into the lava below, dying and losing a fair amount of gear. Recovery is always possible when we have a strong stockpile, but it was rather infuriating to die without having a chance to save yourself or your own stupidity to blame. I probably played a bit too much today considering what was still to be done at the time. Out of game, I finished the writing portfolio tonight and I think it all came together rather well. The emphasis was more in self-reflection than an assembling of my best writing, and having these kinds of projects are always helpful for me to take stock of where I’m at in my life. There is still plenty to do academically, and unfortunately I have tests and quizzes I need to make up, so the next week is going to be exceptionally hectic.

Today’s Mood: Satisfied. (8)
Notes: Solid jaunts in Spiral, though the last few have all been solo. I kinda want to run with someone else again. Played a ton with my brother again in Minecraft today. We ventured into the Nether, a hellish world filled with lava and creepy and powerful monsters. I’m glad with how we did in the high-pressure situation, and though we weren’t able to achieve our intended goal in that zone, we made hefty progress. We got over eager and both were killed, losing a small amount of semi-valuable gear, but we’ve since recover from the loss and are determined to return once adequately prepared. I made significant headway in my portfolio project today, through there still is a fair amount to be done. Such work will take place tomorrow, as the thing is due Monday.

Today’s Mood: Cheerful. (9)
Notes: Didn’t go to school today, to sleep in after the super late last night. Slept until 12, wasn’t going to let myself go any later. Had an excellent time in Spiral with an old friend, blitzing through a top-tier set of levels in fine form. I think I said this yesterday, but I am really enjoying working together with my brother in Minecraft. We’re a pretty good team, and it’s fun to see all of our projects come to fruition. There is work to be done tomorrow, but don’t think I didn’t do any work today either; I wasn’t a complete layabout.

Today’s Mood: Geeked-out. (10)
Notes: It’s a very slang way of describing my mood, but I use it wholeheartedly. I have no regrets of how I spent my day today. Successful runs in Spiral, plenty of time playing alongside my brother in Minecraft in several successful ventures below, and played a few battles in Pokemon with my best friend while we waited in the theater for the premiere of Marvel’s Avengers. The movie was pure nerd glee, with moments of both awesomeness and hilarity. There’s work to be done tomorrow, but tonight, I care not. I am at a full-on peak of exhilarated joy.

Today’s Mood: Irritated, yet pleased. (7)
Notes: Still battling this allergy attack, but I refuse to allow it to dominate my mood. Awful bad luck in Spiral today. One of my best swords has a chance of inflicting a self-damaging curse status when using a charged attack, and every charge during my daily boss fight inflicted the curse. Made finishing the fight impossible. In regards to Minecraft, I knew once I started to play again I’d bee good at wasting time there. It’s so easy to keep going and going. I started on my portfolio project, and I’m rather pleased with what I’ve begun. Put in more time towards D&D today also, though I doubt that I’m going to be ready to hold a meeting this week.

Today’s Mood: Content. (7)
Notes: Decided to play Minecraft again today on a whim, after having not played for so long, at least seven months. A good deal has changed, but on the whole it’s still the same game I used to play for hours on end. Today was overshadowed by an obnoxious allergy attack, the worst I’ve had in months, but friends around manage to keep me in good spirits. There are some things I put off today, both for school and D&D, but I had epiphanies for both this evening, and will eagerly set to work on them tomorrow.

Notes: My mood number is I suppose somewhat misleading. I still do very much enjoy my Sundays. It’s just that my irresponsibility concerning my own bedtime the past few nights have caught up with me, combined with the inexplicable allergy attack that went on for the better part of the day has left me feeling spent. My afternoon was spent rather uselessly, aside from completing my re-watching of Avatar. Still love that show. Anyway, the next few days are going to be very busy, I expect. School is winding down, and that means it’s crunch time.

Today’s Mood: Satisfied. (8)

Notes: It rained today, which is a big deal living in the desert valley here. I do so love the rain. Spent the better part of the day racking in some more money in Spiral; there’s always a recovery period after crafting major equipment, and having crafted a 5* sword and gun recently, I expended nearly all my funds. There’s a new update for Jetpack Joyride out as of last night, and I got the chance to play for some time today. It involves new items noted as Gadgets, which enhance various aspects of the play, such as jump height and additional bounce after being hit. Definitely worth a try if you have the game already, and I’d say a good reason to start now if you haven’t played it yet.

Today’s Play: Approx. 45 minutes of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Satisfied. (8)
Notes: An overall good day, being around close friends and being overall the eccentric kid I am with my eccentric friends I love. After all, what’s the point of being restrained among people who already know you pretty well and love you for who you are? In reason, of course, but sometimes just going off is good fun. Expanding my arsenal in Spiral is always a tough decision on how I want to allocate my resources, something I’m sure I’ve mentioned before. A final note, I really need to make better use of my time at home. I still get stuff done, but I’m scraping by in some ways, and I can tell it’s going to bite me in the butt if I’m not careful.

Today’s Play: Approx. 3 hours of Spiral Knights and 30 minutes of Jetpack Joyride
Today’s Mood: Fulfilled. (8)
Notes: Sundays always put me in a good mood. A wonderful day in church, and I participated in the ward choir. In Spiral I crafted another 5* sword, the top classification, and put it to use. It made me remember why I like using the heavy blades in that game. Sat down and had a lengthy discussion with one of my guildmates who I’m pretty close too, about all sorts of things including concerns about the guild thinning out in frequents. It’s fair to say that people get busy, and run out of things to do in-game, so he and I talked about bringing in new people to the crew. Helping newbies through the game seems to revive old levels. Pulled out Jetpack on a whim this afternoon. Good fun. My sisters like watching me play that game.

Today’s Mood: Exhausted, but satisfied. (8)
Notes: Struggled through the top-tier boss run again with some friends; we just weren’t at the top of our games, but we made it all the way through. The caving trip was a good deal of fun, but rather draining. Yesterday I didn’t play any games anyway, so such a post was really unnecessary.

Today’s Play: Approx. 45 minutes of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Pleased. (7)
Notes: Played a boss run with my sister to earn her the next mission completion and with my brother since he had been wanting to run the area again for quite a while. Some hiccups, but we got through just fine. The plan for prom worked out just fine; based off of her post on Facebook and the fact that I got a witty “yes” reply on my doorstep this evening, I think everything went rather well. Some turmoil among my two close friends, but that should be able to be sorted out.
Addendum: Tomorrow will be the first time in a while that I will not be able to make a post that night. I leave for a spelunking trip tomorrow afternoon, and should get back the afternoon of the Saturday after.

Today’s Play: Approx. 1.5 hours of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Rather pleased. (9)
Notes: As a product of the new laptop, and the rare instance of no prior engagements on both of my sisters’ parts, we were all able to log onto Spiral at the same time and play a few levels together, helping one of my sisters in more missions. Another bonus today, an unusually large amount of people in the guild were online today and there was a great deal of fun chatter as we all plowed through the battles. A good day for gaming. Tomorrow will be rather busy, I expect, but nothing I can’t handle. The days are going by too fast for my liking.

Today’s Play: Approx. 1 hour of Spiral Knights
Today’s Mood: Satisfied and encouraged. (8)
Notes: When I logged onto Spiral this afternoon, I had no idea what it was I wanted to do today. I ended up helping a guildmate make his way through the missions. I think that’s one of the things that makes my guild so charming, is that we are willing and even want to help each other through various challenges. Especially in a game that is so oriented around the acquirement of improved equipment, it feels good to offer a helpful hand to another player. Another thing of note in my world of gaming, my father purchased a new laptop, for various work-related reasons, and as such he bequeathed his older laptop to my brother and myself. I always feel rather smart when I’m able to reconfigure digital devices like that on my own. Upon investigating the specs of this new computer, new to me at least, I found it actually has more memory than my desktop, roughly twice as much in fact, something both surprising and exciting. Gaming performance on the laptop should be noticeably superior. I’ve already installed Spiral on it, though I haven’t had the time to take it for a spin. I foresee moments of conflict between my sibling on the use of the new laptop. On the flip-side, now times when we both want to play Spiral will be less of a conflict, as we now have two computers to do just that. We could even run missions together. One final note, I’m thinking about playing Minecraft again. I haven’t touched the game for any appreciable amount of time since last summer, when I was quite active in it, frequenting a few multiplayer servers and even running my own for myself and my friends. Anyone have any opinions on the game, and whether I should return?
