Kanye West participa do novo CD do Keane

Tom Chaplin, vocalista do Keane, confirmou que o rapper Kanye West vai colaborar com algumas faixas do novo CD da banda. Uma das músicas com o cara deve sair ainda este ano.

Por enquanto, o rapper passou apenas uma noite com a banda – sem trocadilhos, fazendo música, tá? “Nós trabalhamos com ele uma noite, mas vamos voltar ao estúdio nas próximas semanas. Teremos algo muito, muito bom para mostrar em breve”, disse o frontman.

Tudo começou quando o empresário de Kanye disse para Chaplin que o rapper ouvia “Spiralling”, single que a banda lançou em 2008, sem parar.

Bom, se o Keane faz música sem guitarra e acha que é rock, qual o problema de colocar um rapper no meio, né?

Chaplin információja szerint a Keane már el is töltött egy napot a stúdióban az amerikai rapperrel, s a dal – amellyel persze még sok munka van – még az év vége előtt megjelenhet… „Csak egy éjszakát dolgoztunk Kanye-val, de reméljük az elkövetkező hetekben még további felvételek készülhetnek. Ő is és mi is igen elfoglaltak vagyunk, de reméljük, hogy valami egészen nagyszerű dolgot tudunk bemutatni még az év vége előtt.” – nyilatkozta a Keane énekese, aki szerint az együttműködés onnan indult, hogy Kanye West „teljesen rákattant” a zenekar ‘Spiralling’ című számára.
A Keane mindazonáltal nem csak Kanye Westtel, hanem másik afro-amerikai előadóval, a kanadai K’naannel is dolgozik egy közös felvételen, amelynek a sorsa ugyancsak hamarosan eldől.

Keane returned to the west coast to kick off the North American leg of their Perfect Symmetry Tour on Friday, May 8th at the Fox Theater in Oakland. The show opener Helio Sequence from Portland, OR was an added bonus for me on this concert bill their 45 min set include some solid cuts of their current cd Keep Your Eyes Ahead. Keane soaked up all the energy and California flavor that the crowd offered them that evening during their almost 2 hour set. They opened the show with Everybody Changing and continued to plow full steam ahead with raw abandonment and reckless passion. i am not really coping very well with the breakdown of my relationship, it feels awful, my mind is controlling all of my emotions and they are manifesting themselves as anger and hate resentment and complete negativity. My dreams are full of what i fear the most, infedelity, my waking hours are spent thinking what is she doing now, its spiralling into a madness. I need to find some self respect,wheres my honour gone? life will not stop for me to help heal, but it does give me time, i have my friends my family. Why does it hurt so much, it feels like someone has died and it hurts so much its unbearable, everyday that goes past is a day nearer the end, the end of what? should it be a beginning?How can i let go? what do i fear so much without her in my life? Why cant i just accept that people fall in and out of love every day? but why me? i am tryig to understand what have i done to deserve this? was i not a good partner? what could i have done better? is it me or her? i want to run away, disappear, set the clock to zero, but it will never happen, i need to lift my head and look around me, for life is cruel it will not wait.

Do not anger and do not worry, rather than being prescriptive advice about trying to bottle up real feelings that you are experiencing, i believe the wisdom here is about living in the “moment”. There is no point to worry about the past as it has gone and the future does not exist yet or at least it can be changed therefore the only moment that is really happening is “now”. There are many things in the world that could cause us to worry or be angry but we only add to the negative energy surrounding events if we get angry about them too. your energy will follow your mind, do you really want all your enrgy to go into the negative aspects of your life and thefore to make them grow. Concentrate and focus on the postive and let the light in you grow, you cant banish the darkness by concentrating on it, you have to turn on a light. I am not saying that anyone should bottle up their anger(i Know) and pretend they are never angry, that is the root of many long standing energy blockages. Anger expresse in a postive way is a very powerful energy.

Being humble tells me about being aware or our limitations as physical beings. If we are to follow our ture path and living our life on purpose then everything in our lives is with divine order.

Being honest in your work tells me about being truthful with yourself about everything. Sometimes we think we are being honest but we have lost the ability to be in tune with ourselves and to know what is really our essence because we have so many wounds and defence inside. to be honest in all we do is to take responsibilty for all that we do beacuse its when we take responsiblity that we have control over what is happening to us, we will always have choices in every situation, you cant know which is the right one for you until you know who you truly are.

being compassionate to yourself and others is about seeing and understanding that place of pain that others and yourself are coming from when we do something which is considered bad. This is not about allowing someone to walk all over you beacuse that isnt being compassionate to yourself but its about alowing us to see the truth and pain behind our enemies hatred, then armed with that knowledge we can chose another way of reacting other than just hitting back.

Our natural flow of energy always moves towards perfect health and well being, however, when faced with difficulties in our lives which we find tpp painful to accept we tend to hold this unresolved energy in ourselves. This creates blockages in our energies which depletes our vitality and can lead to ill health, suffering and sadness.

She coughed, and he remembered.

That was how it had begun. A deep, throaty, phlegm-filled cough. But he was getting ahead of himself. He would have to go to the very beginning.

They had met at the movies, and there was an instant attraction. There was an animal spark between them, something that drew them towards one another. He had gone over to her and introduced himself, and they instantly liked each other. Strong personalities, attractive looks, intelligence-they were more alike than they could have imagined.

They had hooked up that night. The levels of passion between them surprised them both. That night was a carnal, feral expression of desire and lust, and it left them both craving more. Along with the passion, there was a hint of violence, and it excited them.

They started seeing each other regularly, and the desire just kept growing. They began to get adventurous, getting together in restaurant restrooms and mall changing rooms. The hint of danger, the possibility of getting caught just added to the heat of the moment.

Then, that day came. The day he whipped the tiny box out of his pocket and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. With absolutely no hesitation, she said yes. And before they knew it, they were married.

And that’s when things started to go downhill.

The fights began. They would have blazing rows, standing at opposite ends of the room and bellowing at each other. Everything the other did seemed unbearably annoying. They couldn’t even stand the other’s prescence. And that’s when he found out.

About her nest egg. About her trust fund. About her inheritance.

About how it would come to him if anything should ‘happen to her’.

He planned it out very carefully. He bought an industrial toxin that would not show up in tests. He slipped it into her coffee. And then he heard the telltale cough, the first sign.

The beginning of the end.

He looked at her, and smiled. He had slipped her the surprise three days ago. In another two days, it would all be over. And he would be rich.

Then, he turned away from her and coughed. It sounded horrifyingly familiar. It was phelgm-filled and came from deep down in his throat. He looked over at her, and she smiled. A terrible smile, full of comprehension and satisfaction.

He shivered.

Eu acho que já fiz posts aqui no blog, depois de ouvir uma música e me inspirar para isso. Dessa vez o post é inspirado por um trecho da música Spiralling da banda Keane, que desembarca no Brasil para uma série de shows na próxima semana( eu não vou para nenhum deles, por que, como sempre, Manaus fica de fora do circuito de shows que realmente valem a pena!).O trecho é o seguinte:
I’m waiting for my moment to come(Estou esperando o meu momento chegar)
I’m waiting for the movie to begin (Estou esperando o filme começar)
I’m waiting for a revelation (Estou esperando uma revelação)
I’m waiting for someone to count me in(estou esperando alguém para me incluir)

Decidi escrever sobre isso por que, esse comecinho da música diz exatamente como eu me sinto há alguns anos da minha vida.
Estou com 19 anos e parece que nada de espetacular aconteceu na minha vida até agora, tudo passou muito rápido, nada de muito marcante aconteceu…será que vocês conseguem me entender? Tá certo que muita gente pode dizer que eu ainda sou jovem, e muitas águas ainda vão rolar…mas daí eu penso: “E se essas águas não rolarem?”, tipo, se eu morresse amanhã, quem realmente sentiria minha falta? Quem teria histórias para contar sobre mim?…tá certo, talvez( sim, TALVEZ) a minha família.
Mas não é que eu esteja deprimido nem nada, eu vivi a minha vida até hoje da melhor maneira que eu pude e, não posso reclamar de nada, eu sou uma pessoa feliz e agradeço a Deus por todas as experiências que eu tive. Mas o que mais me identifiquei com essa música foi o “Estou esperando(…)”, por que é assim que me sinto…apesar de acreditar que nada de tão revolucionário aconteceu na minha vida, eu tenho um sentimento de mudança, e sempre que paro para analisar minha vida, esse sentimento vêm à tona. Eu sinto que algo grande ainda vai acontecer comigo, coisas boas, se é que você me entende…como se tudo que eu estivesse vivendo até agora, estivesse me preparando para “o filme que vai começar”, assim que tiver a “revelação” de que esse futuro vai começar…não sei se isso é um sinal de que essas coisas realmente vão acontecer comigo, ou, se é só meu subconsciente que me faz acreditar nisso, só sei que é assim que me sinto e fico feliz por isso, por que, como diz o livro O Segredo “Sua vida se forma à partir de seus pensamentos”(algo desse tipo!) e é nisso que me apego nos meus momentos de dificuldade, quando você acha que as coisas estão difíceis, o que você deve fazer é: parar de pensar naquilo que não está dando certo e começar a se focar naquilo que você realmente quer! Eu sei, o que quero da minha vida e sei o que é preciso para alcançar o que quero, e quando falo que me identifico com o “estou esperando(…)” não é que eu esteja sentado esperando chegar, eu realmente estou trabalhando para isso desde que eu ainda era uma criança! Mas falo do sentimento de que isso está prestes à acontecer! You know what I mean?
Meu momento ainda vai chegar…é só esperar!
Mas não se preocupem, quando acontecer eu contarei pra vocês!

All together now: “Oooh!”. Keane, much-maligned purveyors of sappy piano-pop, come up with a masterpiece of catchy drums, squelchy bass, 80s synths and a lead guitar line. The problem with Keane was never the melodies, it was more that the music (with a couple of exceptions) was deadly dull; here, they come across like David Bowie circa Let’s dance, Talking Heads (especially in the spoken mid-8, reminiscent of Once in a lifetime), maybe even a bit Human League.

Also, following Charlie Tom Chaplin’s well-publicised addictions and subsequent rehab, this song does take on a little extra poignancy, with the pop sensibility belying some fairly dark lyrics, apparently reflecting loss, self-indulgence and the trappings of fame.

The real giveaway is that Stuart Price was recruited to the production team for the Perfect Symmetry album, and although he was apparently not involved in this single, you can hear his influence, for example in the squelchy bass and squawking synths. “Who is Stuart Price?” I hear you ask. Better known as Les Rhythmes Digitales, or Jacques Le Cont, he was also responsible for Madonna’s Confessions on a dancefloor album, including the use of the famous ABBA sample on Hung up.

Whatever the reason, it was really pleasing to hear Keane come up with something as fresh and different as this, and prove that there is more to them as a band than they had previously displayed. What a shame that the subsequent single, The lovers are losing, reverted to being a flaccid, piano-led affair.

Eu ja estou soltando a lista dos melhores do ano. Todo mundo faz, entao eu tambem vou nessa. Aproveitar um tempo livre aqui, enquanto eu deveria estar editando meu “continuity” (meu segundo exercicio aqui). Esse texto comecou a ser fveito no Brasil, entao metade tem acento, metade nao. Por favor, entenda a minha situacao.

Melhor filme: Blindness

Nunca fiquei tanto tempo sem ir ao cinema quanto neste ano. Posso contar os filmes que vi e foram poucos, muito poucos. Mas Blindness eu vi duas vezes e gostei bastante – e ninguem me convenceu que e uma porcaria. Fotografia mais que perfeita, uma protagonista excepcional. Muita boa direcao. Exemplo de historia que foi bem do papel para as telas. E Meirelles e Meirelles, ne…

Melhor disco: Kings of Leon. Da primeira a última música. Aquela voz “envelhecida”, músicas feitas com vontade. Me disseram: “Kings of Leon” ainda tem tesão em fazer música. Pura verdade. Dá vontade de ouvir de novo assim que termina. E é um disco sexy, sem dúvidas.

Melhor música: Spiralling, do Keane. Na semana em que estava em Londres o disco Perfect Symmetry foi #1 em sei lá qual lista. E mereceu demais. O disco é ótimo, agitado sem deixar de ser Keane. Dá vontade de cantar junto todas as músicas. Mas Spiralling, que abre o disco é sensacional. Dúvido alguém ouvir sem ficar cantando Oooo o dia todo.

Melhor veículo: Trip. Apesar desse projeto gráfico novo, que deixou a revista bem desinteressante, continua sendo a única coisa que dá vontade de ler até o final. Destaque para a edição de moradia (chamou-se Teto) de julho.

Internet: Kakaos. Sim, Kátia Lessa, linkada ao lado, deu perspectivas diferentes do que todo fala todo dia igual. Fala do essencial, me lembrou que eu gostava de moda, fugiu da loucura dos sites e blogs, que querem falar de tudo ao mesmo tempo. Melhor blog, sem dúvida.

Melhor balada: Studio SP. Nem preciso explicar, né? O projeto Cedo e Sentado foi incrível, barato ($) e trouxe shows maravilhosos. E depois da meia noite sempre me diverti também. Destaque para Otto e Trupe Cha de Boldo.

Melhore noites: 21 de junho. A noite mais supreendente do ano. Às vezes a gente se entrega, se conforma com uma situação que não é a melhor, mas da qual é impossível se livrar. Eu achei que seria daquele jeito sempre, mas o mundo dá voltas. And I met someone that really makes me happy.

Personalidade: Barack Obama. O homem que fez o mundo dizer Yes, we can. Ele pode, agora ele pode tudo, é o homem mais poderoso do mundo. Campanha espalhada nos quatro cantos, foi mais mais notícia aqui dos que os nossos candidatos a prefeito. Desbancou a poderosésima Hilary Clinton e consquistou a confiança dos americanos numa época em que ninguém confia nem no cachorro. E é o primeiro presidente negro do país. Great job, man!

Show do ano: Young Knives, na Clash. Sim, eu vi R.E.M, vi ums coisas em Londres, vou ver Oasis (que vai ser o show do ano, mas eu falo disso depois) e também vi Offspring no Terra. Eles valeriam como show do ano também, mas tinha umas 100 pessoas na casa. Me joguei como em nenhum outro dia neste ano e os meninos mandaram mais que bem. Quase dei piruetas no ar de tão divertido.

Decepção: Exposição Bossa 50. Enorme, mas dizendo bem pouco. Nem os vestidinhos do Ronaldo Fraga me animaram. Talvez ja se falou tudo o que o podia sobre Bossa Nova, mas fiquei com a impressao de mais do mesmo. Quem sabe quando a Bossa fizer 100 anos, ne?!

Yes, KEANE.

Now, I’ve never paid them much mind, let alone bought any of their guitarless records, but every bedwetter has its day and Keane’s arrived when they decided to beef up a bit, tighten up the songs and listen to a shedload of A-ha records. Because that’s what the best bits of Perfect Symmetry are – Scoundrel Days ‘08. ‘Spiralling’ was the eye-opener, the rather too eager Bowie-aper that put down an emphatic marker saying, “We’ve changed! We’re still pop, only more so, and look – guitar!” (seriously, it said that), but ‘The Lovers Are Losing’ has one of the most startlingly great choruses of the year so here it is.

Still, some things they’ll never shake off. Junior’s response is a flurry of air-piano and a general look of guileless choir-girl benevolence. Satire, that.
