Now that I’ve got your attention by the title please do not be alarmed.  I promise you I’m going somewhere with this train of thought.  Enjoy the post. 

So I watching Criminal Minds on A&E last night.  For those who’ve never seen it, I being one of them until the show recently hit syndication, Criminal Minds is a CSI/NCIS style show about FBI criminal profilers that track down serial killers, rapists, child kidnappers and other various criminals.  Best to check it out for yourself.  My description dosn’t do the show justice. 

One saying I kept hearing the FBI agents use was “Un sub”.  Being the curious lad that I am I headed to the glorious interweb in my quest to find of the meaning of this “Un sub”.  My thirst for knowledge is unquenchable.  After checking up on my Facebook, ESPN, IGN, a few ”adult” sites and finally my blog stats (hits to this site are like crack to me.  Check back often.  Sorry about the shameless plug) I discovered the meaning of Un Sub.  Turns out it is short for Unknown Suspect.  I had a feeling that’s what it stood for but never hurts to be sure.

After the FBI agents in Criminal Minds arrested the serial rapist who they were in search of setting the TV world right again a KFC commercial came on.  I watched of course because changing channels would involve finding the remote and I noticed a odd tag line at the end of the TV spot.  Fast food chain warfare isn’t something I’m on the up and up about but I’m guessing Subway’s deal is going head to head with KFC’s value meal.  Their new slogan I suppose is meant to combat that Subway $5 footling deal and it goes “Taste the un sub side of KFC”

Really?

Now this is a fine little slogan they’ve got going on except I just watched a television drama where FBI agents referred to the man who was raping small children as the “Un sub”.  I’m pretty sure I do not want to “taste” that side of KFC.  Chicken fingers?  Sure.  Mashed Potatoes?  Hell yeah and throw some gravy on.  KFC’s trademark biscuit?  Oh most definitely. Serial rapist being hunted down by FBI profilers……………oh, no, that’s OK.  I’ll pass on the rapey murdery flavor. 

Who knows.  Maybe KFC”s next slogan will be “Murder/Suicide.  It’s finger licking good”

I tre giorni a Firenze sono letteralmente volati via. Le riprese di una pubblicità sono stimolanti (forse più per la possibilità di sperimentare che per altro), anche se il tempo e la frenesia sono gli ingredienti principali, quindi stress, nervosismo e altri fattori (vedi l’inesperienza) potrebbero compromettere l’intera operazione, per fortuna “noi” abbiamo portato a casa il materiale (e non è poco).

Sul set si lavora molto (macchinisti, elettricisti, reparto fotografia) o si fa lo stretto necessario (video assist, segretaria di edizione) oppure nel caso organizzativo (lì il discorso diventa più sulla fatica psicologica) la produzione e la regia sono gli elementi più importanti dell’intero sistema. Insomma dipende dai ruoli, io per esempio, l’ultimo della piramide (backstagista) sono quello più tranquillo nella dinamica della lavorazione, sono indipendente, nessun fiato sul collo (la produzione però è sempre attenta a quello che fai – più che attenta “prende per il culo”, ma sono dettagli) a volte vengo chiamato in causa per dare una mano a bloccare un lato della strada (tra l’altro prendendo dei “vaffa” dai fiorentini) o a spingere il motorino dell’attore per agevolare la partenza. La scene più difficili sono quelle per strada, soprattutto nel centro, quando bisogna bloccare cinque strade (la polizia municipale, ben pagata, ci aiuta), le persone (molti non si fermano, altri si posizionano proprio davanti alla cinepresa, altri non capiscono una ceppa perchè stranieri, altri perchè rincoglioniti) per non parlare degli imprevisti causa forza maggiore (poca luce, cattivo tempo, e altre amenità che non posso raccontare).

Bella esperienza, faticosa, gratificante (a volte no), dove con un pizzico di attenzione e di scrupolosa osservazione si può imparare molto, dalla tecnica al lato umano, e forse è l’aspetto più interessante è proprio quest’ultimo.

La pena es que la realidad no tiene que ver nada con lo que muestra el spot. Y eso que, según mi experiencia personal, el servicio post-venta de MediaMarkt deja mucho que desear. No conozco Tien 21, por lo que no puedo opinar.

Here is a beautiful old building in Newcastle – Custom’s House. Across the road from the Newcastle Railway Station, this wonderful building is a landmark in it’s own right. Sadly, another old building in Newcastle that could be considered beautiful has been run into the ground so to speak – the Post Office.

Custom’s House is now occupied by a restaurant and what a beautiful location – right on the foreshore of Newcastle’s picturesque parkland area.

Whenever I catch a bus to Newcastle – I spend a bit of time here in the park in front of Custom’s House. The bus stop for the return trip (and the arrival stop) is right next to the train station and opposite this magnificent building and parkland area. It is a great little spot to pass the time while waiting for the bus.

Me encantan los anuncios que Heineken va sacando cada año, des de que vi los anuncios de Heineken de este año, con los amigos que salen al campo, como si fueran jugadores y se sientan en el bar o en el sofá de casa, he pensado en hace este pequeño recopilatorio, porque siempre han sido unos anuncios muy divertidos.

No se que más decir, prefiero dejar los vídeos para que todos los disfrutéis. Bueno solo decir que los mejores están al final, y que si os acordáis de algún otro, nos lo podéis decir y así lo colgaremos.

Esta campaña es sencillamente maravillosa. Me entran ganas de comprarme unos Levi’s cada vez que la veo. Y no sólo eso. Me entran ganas de salir a la calle y hacer algo grande. De llamar a mis amigos e irme por el Mojave a liarla. Me entran ganas de beber. De correr. De ser grande.

Es una maravilla. Levi’s se reinventa y qué bien lo hace. Las fotos son de Ryan McGinley. Y aquí podéis ver el spot y además una de las vallas que hay aquí en San Francisco (cuna de Levi’s), en Market con Dolores. Una maravilla, no me canso de verlo.

Os presento aquí el nuevo anuncio de la Lotería de Navidad 2009.

He de reconocer que me ha gustado mucho el spot. “Hay muchos tipos de Navidad, pero todas están aquí” es el mensaje del anuncio, mostrando imágenes de los diferentes tipos de Navidad, imágenes siempre llenas de optimismo y felicidad. Al final aparece hasta un Papa Noel comprando un décimo.

Muy buen trabajo de la Agencia Ricardo Pérez Asociados, que han sabido plasmar perfectamente el mensaje a transmitir. Han conseguido que la sombra del calvo no oscurezca su trabajo, cosa nada fácil.

Como curiosidad, las imágenes que habían aparecido de la grabación del anuncio en una playa de Castelldefels, y de las que me hice eco hace poco en un post, al final han supuesto apenas un segundo del total del anuncio, para representar la navidad “nevada”.

¿De quién es la música del anuncio de la Lotería de Navidad 2009?

Como siempre, la música juega un papel fundamental en estas campañas. Esta vez, el tema elegido es muy acertado, pues acompaña perfectamente las imágenes que van apareciendo, y resalta su emotividad. Se trata de un tema sacado de un álbum llamado Spontex Sinfonia de un músico francés llamado Pascal Comelade. El tema se llama “Paganini paga tot a nono“, curiosamente un titulo en catalán.

Me recuerda mucho a los temas utilizados en anteriores campañas, por lo que veo que se mantiene una cierta coherencia. Muy buena elección de la música. Muy buena campaña. Enhorabuena pues a la Agencia.
