A few days ago, after downloading some random stuff off the internet, it came to my attention that my computer was infected with some kind of keylogger. For anyone who doesn’t know what a keylogger is, it’s basically a remote program where the owner of the keylogger can see a log of all the keyboard actions you perform on your computer. In other words, if someone remotely installs a keylogger on your computer, that person will be able to track all the passwords you type on your computer. For online banking and emails, a keylogger can be extremely dangerous. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to spot this keylogger. Usually when a keylogger is installed on your computer, there’s often a keyboard bind to open the log file stored on your computer. Lucky for me, the bind configured on my keylogger was Ctrl + A, so whilst typing the capital A, the password prompt appeared to initiate the log file. Immediately however, I downloaded a copy of Kaspersky. I recommend this program for anyone who has a problem with viruses, keyloggers, adware, or spyware on their computer. This program can detect keyloggers by checking through system moniter files and programs, also, it is able to detect changes within your registry to ensure that no program are in effect without you knowing it. This anti virus program is also extremely efficient in the way that it can update hourly and check for new virus definitions. If you want to browse the internet without annoying popups and spam, I strongly suggest you either invest money or time into getting this program.
