If your laptop has been infected with spyware and malware then you are potentially wondering what to

If your laptop has been infected with spyware and malware then you are potentially wondering what to do. Obviously your priorities have shifted from keeping it out of your system, to getting it out of your system. This may be a very hard factor to try and do depending on the severity of your infection. Fortunately there are many things you can do to take care of your problem.

The main threat that spyware poses once it has entered your system is mainly dependant on how long it has remained undetected. Good protection programs and active scanners can notify you if one thing gets through virtually immediately. But , less advanced programs might not detect something until you run a scan. This implies the program could be sitting on your machine spying on you for many weeks.

The longer it has to spy on you, the higher probability it’s at stealing your identity. Although by itself it’s harmless it simply scans your visited sites, keystrokes, and appearance for alpha numeric codes resembling social security numbers, credit card numbers, and passwords. At predetermined dates it will send out the knowledge it’s gathered back to its creators who then undergo it and steal your identity. This has been the subject of far discussion within the business community to whether it’s illegal or not.

The most reason for this can be that a lot of firms and businesses use spyware on their machines to monitor employees. This is often needed to make sure their staff are not trying to scam them, or slack off on the job. Whereas this can be fine in the business world, it can be used to hurt individuals in their homes. If you have got been infected the primary steps you should take are aggressive ones.

1st you want to update and run all of your antispyware and antivirus programs. If you do not have any there are a number of legitimate free programs on the net. You can determine them by the number of reviews, and suggestions from different users. When putting in and scanning you’ll presumably realize the files that are infected.

When finding the files make certain to delete and heal them. Next you want to run some quite cleaner to buy rid of junk files and file fragments. Finally you should run a registry cleaner to handle any further damage that the fight could have caused. Finally solely to be safe you ought to call your bank and mastercard companies and raise them to keep an eye out for any suspicious charges.

This is essential to keeping your credit in sensible shape. The last factor you wish is for a random charge for a boat to pop up on your account. It is vital to require preventative measures even within the event that nothing is wrong. Better safe than sorry when it involves your credit and identity information.

When fighting off spyware it is vital to be vigilant in all things. Build sure to possess protection spyware virus removal programs to keep it out in the primary place and scanning programs to go when it within the event it makes it inside. After you’ve got run your scans and cleaned your pc it is a smart idea to run them again. Then you want to notify your bank to observe for charges.

Eco Antivirus is the first rogue antispyware application that is claimed being carrying about environment and nature donating 2$ from every license purchase for forests protection. This very majestic idea is just a part of tricking plan to make users believe that using Eco Antivirus is the way of protection they need. Moreover they can be helpful for environment. In reality, no one is going to donate any money for forests protection and everything is just fake propaganda. This badware is pushed by the use of Trojans and different other malicious programs that makes Eco Antivirus more dangerous. Once inside the computer, Eco Antivirus is going to run system scan. All scans will state the same results about your computer being infected with numerous Trojans, worms and other nasty files. What is more, you will not be able to use Eco Antivirus to get rid of those threats until you purchase the license. Unfortunately, you are going to pay for absolutely worthless products that is why it has been highly recommended not to follow any directions Eco Antivirus offers you to and under no circumstances buy or download its products. Any time you log in the system, Eco Antivirus will start sending you annoying pop-ups screaming about extremely danger for your computer without registered license or about importance of new system scan. This all is just simple scam that should be easily ignored. While using Eco Antivirus this rogue antispyware application will deny access to security related websites in order to protect itself from further detection. All in all, Eco Antivirus despite all its bright promises is only simple rogue that was created by hackers and that will do any good either to the environment or to the security of your computer.

1. What is spyware? Spyware is a scourge on the Internet, spyware is malicious software designed to

1. What is spyware?

Spyware is a scourge on the Internet, spyware is malicious software designed to run on the personal computer of a person are often installed without their knowledge, where it runs silently, collecting information about your behavior and then use the computers in order to valuable behavioral data back to the transmitter – the source company.
How does spyware spread?

Spyware is generally not self-replicate. This means that in order to infect your computer by most spyware applications, you must perform an action, such as installing a plug-in display for a website or installing other software for your computer.

Spyware and system performance

One or two pieces of spyware are not usuallynoticeable when they spawn pop-ups or other forms of advertising. Problems usually only begin to manifest as increasing the number of active spyware programs, thereby increasing the burden on system resources. A major problem in many forms of spyware is that they are designed very poorly, with the code inefficient and often incorrect – if you spyware on your computer and you experience unexplained "crashes", "lock-ups" or critical errors, it is likely that the cause is a buggy piece ofSpyware hidden in your computer crashes and things as it tries to spy on you.

PORTSMOUTH — The ability to track someone’s cell phone signal to a specific area may not be something new for fans of CSI and other TV cop dramas but the use of the technology became very real this past week as police searched for a little girl abducted by her father.

Maine authorities issued an AMBER Alert on Monday afternoon to find 38-year-old Gary Traynham after he allegedly assaulted his two-year-old daughter’s mother and fled the mother’s Sanford, Maine, apartment with little Hailey in a stolen pickup truck.

The U.S. Justice Department’s Website describes the Amber Alert Program as “a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of the child.”

And that’s what happened right after Hailey was taken. The airwaves were saturated with reports about her abduction.

Through witness reports and information received indicating that Traynham had ties to the Lakes Region, police began to scour communities throughout Central New Hampshire. Signs of the alert were visible everywhere, from the state, local and federal authorities positioned along Route 11 on Tuesday to the electronic construction signs that displayed messages about Traynham’s license plate number.

Hours into the eventual 30-hour manhunt, police caught a break when they were able to determine Traynham had made a phone call with his cell phone and the signal had “pinged” or transmitted off a communications tower in Alton.

Sanford Police Chief Thomas Connolly told WMUR that authorities were able to get an idea of where Traynham may have been headed when they received information his cell phone had used the signal from the tower.

“They were able to draw an arc on a map and said information from the cell phone indicates Traynham and his little girl were somewhere in that arc,” Connolly told WMUR. “Son of a gun they were found right in the middle of that arc.”

Hailey Traynham and her mother were reunited Tuesday night in Sanford, Maine, after a deer hunter spotted her and her father in a pickup truck on a logging road in Milton.

An unrelated incident in Portsmouth on Wednesday offered further proof that tracking cell phones for law enforcement purposes can be life-saving and in some cases an important precaution.

According to radio communications, around 10:30 a.m. local police were on the lookout for a possibly suicidal Connecticut man believed to be in the area. Radio transmissions indicated Connecticut authorities had received information that the man’s cell phone had last “pinged” off a tower in the Portsmouth area.

Police were then asked to be on the lookout for the man at area hospitals and eventually found him at a friend’s residence unharmed a short while later.

Portsmouth Police Community Relations Capt. Mike Schwartz said the effort in tracking someone’s cell phone is a team effort with law enforcement and phone service carriers and is only used in situations deemed to be an emergency. When police determine a situation necessitates using the technology, Schwartz said they contact the cell phone carrier, identify themselves as law enforcement and request a trace of the last known signal used.

Schwartz said the service is then able to tell authorities the last tower the cell phone signal “pinged” off.

“It’s for emergencies and there is tight criteria on it,” said Schwartz. “Every now and then we get people who say they lost their phone and ask, ‘can you ping it?’ We have to tell them ‘no,’ that’s not an emergency.”

The tracking is also not always 100 percent, said Schwartz, but does give law enforcement agencies a good starting point.

Michael Murphy, New England public affairs spokesman for Verizon Wireless, also acknowledged the relationship law enforcement and cell phone carriers have when it comes to potentially harmful situations.

“Verizon Wireless maintains a Law Enforcement Resource Team (LERT) that is ready and available 24/7 to assist authorities with life-threatening situations,” Murphy said.

There have been many posts on TechGeekandMore concerning viruses, spyware, malware, and scareware.

There have been many posts on TechGeekandMore concerning viruses, spyware, malware, and scareware. If you wonder why, its because as a tech, the number one question and the number one support call that I will take involves pc’s that have already been infected (because the user didn’t know any better) and what to do to clean up the pc.

Sometimes the infection isn’t really bad and a simple scan and delete will clean things up, other times, its a matter of recover/save what you can from the pc and format/reinstall everything (and yes that could mean saying goodbye to important documents or a long downtime). On top of everything else keep in mind that hiring someone like me to clean up your pc could cost $100 / HR or more, and in some cases it may be more cost effective to buy a new pc.

So where do we start, we start at a couple of common things that are DO’s and DONT

1) If your on any website and see a messages like the following

DO NOT CLICK ON YES OR OK, it is a trick used by the writer of the virus or malware (known as social engineering) to get you to install the malware or virus. Since the message will probably pop up as part of the page your on, you may just think that its a natural part of Windows and agree to it, at least that’s what the bad guy hopes you will believe.

Additionally, when online, DO READ WHAT THE POP MESSAGES SAY AND DONT JUST CLICK ON THEM TO GET THEM OUT OF YOUR WAY. ADDITIONALLY DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT POPS UP (I know this is a hard concept for most). The following are just some of the MILLIONS of possible messages that you could see

Now lets talk about how these happen, they can happen because the website your visiting has been infected by a virus. These days its not just pc’s that get infected it can also be websites both minor and major (Scareware Pop-Ups Target Google, New York Times), so DONT think that because the only sites you visit are major sites (Google, NY Times, Twitter, Facebook, etc) that your entirely safe. You MUST always stay alert.

What if you machine is under attack from a Virus or Malware

Take immediate action as soon as the message or popup comes up. The majority of viruses and malware is written in such a way that not only will your machine get infected, but the infection will go out to the internet (completely automatically) and download additional files and infections to reinforce itself. So the longer you take to address the issue the harder (and probably more expensive) it will be to clean your machine. Image your self getting the flu, you take care of yourself and in a few days your body recovers and everything is normal again. However, if you get the flu and ignore it and just let it continue without doing anything about it, you could get sick enough to end up in a hospital or even dead. (Sorry to make it so over dramatic, but really that’s what it boils down to).

As soon as you receive a one of these type of scareware/malware/virus pop up windows, you need to use the task manager to close whatever program your using to get to the internet (You should NEVER try and close the program with the ok or cancel button on the program as all the buttons no matter what they say will download unwanted files on to your pc). You can access the task manager 1 of 2 ways

Task Manager via Ctrl Alt Del key

Once you have closed the Window – what next?

This may take a little time, but its best to check you pc and make sure nothing stayed on it that shouldn’t be there. There are 4 things you need to do at this point.

Step#1 -

If you use Internet Explorer

Go to Tools –> Internet Options –> select delete in the browser history section and delete all

If your using Firefox

Go to Tools –> Options –> Privacy and select clear your recent history and remove individual cookies ( you may need to change the setting to remember history to get to the settings)

If you use any other browser look for the area to remove, cache, temp or cookies and remove all.

***Also make sure you empty your recycling bin.***

Step# 2-

If you don’t already have a copy on your pc, download Super Antispyware (LINK: http://superantispyware.com/) and install Super Antispyware. **There is a Free and Pro edition, all you will need is the free edition.**

- During the install you will see the following screens. Make sure you say YES to “Would you like Super Antispyware to check for the latest updates….” then select the default or recommended setting for the remaining screens. On the screen asking for email address you do NOT have to enter anything, you can just select the next button.

Once installed you will see the following screen, just make sure that the definition date (on the bottom right) is current (shouldn’t be more than a day or two old, if not click on check for updates) then select scan your computer (on top left)

You will then see

At which point, select all your hard drives and select “Perform complete scan” and hit next.

Once the scan completes,

You will see the list of items found. I would recommend that all shown items remain with checks and then select next.

The lastly once the clean up completes. You will be prompted to reboot. I recommend you close anything that is still open and select yes to reboot.

Step# 3

Once completed you will see a list of all items found. Select all and remove. Then reboot pc.

Step# 4

Lastly, whatever Anti-virus you have, make sure you update it to the latest updates or signature file (depending on which one you have) and run a full scan of all your drives. If it finds anything select removal and then reboot.

If you don’t have an Anti-Virus program or yours is expired, TGM recommends Microsoft Security Essentials which is free. (LINK: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ )

I know this was a long post, but the steps listed above would be exactly the steps I would take if you called me (and probably most other techs) to take care of your pc. Hopefully this information helps you stay informed and helps you save a headache and some money in the future.

Now it's serious! With the release of Microsoft spyware, you know what you have a level, if poss

Now it's serious! With the release of Microsoft spyware, you know what you have a level, if possible, and even the big boys take note reaches the start of spyware threats. If you believe that your precious PC is protected, just because you are an anti-virus program installed on it, to think better about this.

The amount produced of spyware is increasing daily, and it could affect anyone of us. And you could end up losing more than just informationYour computer. You have your identity stolen.

Against this background, a high level of activity in the development of anti-spyware software is. There is a plethora of different options for you, but basically these programs your computer for malicious spyware scan will give you the opportunity to remove them, and then help you to prevent re-infection in the future. Traditionally, smaller specialized software companies have dominated the market. Now the mighty Microsoft ishas entered the fray.

The Microsoft-spyware product is currently called Windows Defender. Your way into the market was to buy an existing business known as Giant Company Software, which is already on the market an anti-spyware product. Then on the reconstruction and development of the product. Windows Defender is a free download for owners of genuine Windows systems. It is also shipped with Windows Vista as part of the operating system and is activatedDefault.

Personally, I would be a manufacturer of anti-spyware software, I would be me not happy to see the entry of Microsoft in the market. We all know what happens to Netscape when Microsoft entered the browser market. Will history repeat itself? Only time will tell.

Perhaps a more important question, "is Microsoft's spyware software any good?" The program has the ability to detect and remove spyware. It also has real-time scanning. This is very rare in a freeSpyware program. It is customary that you upgrade to a "professional" (paid) version to get this skill. Tests with other free spyware products show that it compares favorably.

A nice feature is the "Scheduler" allows you to scan a fixed date for the implementation of one of your computer. For example, you could put it on 8.00pm to run every night.

Maintaining this type of software so that it always up to date is a big task for any company. Thus, Microsoft willSpyware, you know, are the means to ensure that this task is fulfilled.

ALL About Spyware

There are a lot of PC users that know little about “Spyware”, “Mal-ware”, “hijackers”, “Dialers” & many more. This will help you avoid pop-ups, spammers and all those baddies.

What is spy-ware?
Spy-ware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Ad-ware). It is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by selling it to the users. There are several large media companies that offer them to place banner ads in their products in exchange for a portion of the revenue from banner sales. This way, you don’t have to pay for the software and the developers are still getting paid. If you find the banners annoying, there is usually an option to remove them, by paying the regular licensing fee.

Known spywares
There are thousands out there, new ones are added to the list everyday. But here are a few:
Alexa, Aureate/Radiate, BargainBuddy, ClickTillUWin, Conducent Timesink, Cydoor, Comet Cursor, eZula/KaZaa Toptext, Flashpoint/Flashtrack, Flyswat, Gator, GoHip, Hotbar, ISTbar, Lions Pride Enterprises/Blazing Logic/Trek Blue, Lop (C2Media), Mattel Brodcast, Morpheus, NewDotNet, Realplayer, Songspy, Xupiter, Web3000, WebHancer, Windows Messenger Service.

Warning

“The Canadian Pharmacy, Canadian/European Pharmacy”, “Canadian Healthcare” and “US Drugstore” are brands of one of the most disgusting illegal online pharmacy group well organized CRIMINAL OPERATION of all times. “GREED” is the driving force behind this operation. Don’t let them fool you. They will never send you any genuine drugs. If they ever send anything at all, it may consist of literally anything from sugar to wall plaster, and they certainly don’t care that you will endanger your health by taking those dangerous counterfeit drugs.

Behind The Online Pharmacy

Today a shadowy, transnational network of illicit drug manufacturers, traders, doctors, Web site operators, spammers and criminals makes up the online pharmacy world.

Buying Medication Online Can Be Safe

There are many options out there when it comes to buying medication online. We have looked at websites after websites. Some sites feature offshore pharmacies that do not require a prior prescription. Others feature licensed pharmacies that do require a prescription from your doctor.
Before making a purchase that can effect your health, we strongly recommend that you consult your physician & DO NOT self-medicate. Ordering medication online can be a safe, money-saving experience. When done through licensed online pharmacies that require a prescription, you can be assured that the medication you get is exactly what you need to treat your ailments.
