In Super Smash Bros., Poké Balls were introduced. In Super Smash Bro. Brawl, Assist Trophies were first introduced. Now cones a new sort of assist that borders on ultimate power.

Previously, I updated with Djinn and that help players summon supernatural beings. Now, here is a new type of summons/assist:

Boss Spheres

Boss Spheres are the rarest and most powerful form of assist. It basically summons a boss found in The Galactic Usurper and calls them forth to fight the opponents. There are a number of requirements to unlock them though so these are (most likely), the last things you will unlock.

Requirements

However, in order to bring a boss into battle, certain requirements must be met:

1) Encounter the boss in The Galactic Usurper Story Mode and win.

2) Complete the Story Mode on any difficulty.

3) Completing the Story Mode unlocks Boss Battle mode.

4) At some point during the fight, a empty Boss Sphere will appear. Use it to capture the “soul” if the boss. This is done by throwing it at the boss. You must defeat the boss in order to get the sphere at the end of Boss Mode.

5) Finish Boss Battle Mode with no continues.

This will unlock that Boss Sphere to be used in game play.

Mechanics

When you obtain a Boss Sphere in Vs mode, a random boss will appear from it. Simply grab it to release the boss that’s inside. It will then fight on your behalf; even if they themselves are evil. They are unable to be damaged by opponents and do not stagger. Most Bosses can KO an opponent; even at lower percentages by causing wide spread damage.

Unlocking a Boss Sphere will also reward the player with a trophy of that boss so, in fact, you get two rewards in one.

List of Boss Spheres

List of Boss Spheres (to be expanded in the future):

Meanwhile, a unconscious Mario is seen laying on a bed of leaves. He overalls and hat are singed and burnt but over-all, he doesn’t seem worse for wear. He slowly comes to and jumps to his feet. His injuries force him back to the ground but, off to the side, he sees a crashed spacecraft and patch of flowers near it. He then loses consciousness and knows no more.

Mario wakes up and sees a strange creature with a flower on it’s head peering down at him. Mario gets up, startled, but winces in pain. A bizarre person appears from behind the space craft.

Enter Pikmin and Olimar!

Captain Olimar motions for Mario to sit down. Mario looks at his bandaged hand and begins to move. Captain Olimar begins to tend to his Pikmin while Mario stands up.

However, Mario has a dramatic flashback of Peach being taken by Bowser and himself being hit by that strange weapon. He stands off to move but his eyes roll to the back of hid head and he collapses. Captain Olimar and Pkimim moves to help him up but he gently brushes them aside. He staggers up and clenches his fist. Captain Olimar and Pikmin look up to him and repeat his pose.

Location: Jungle

Enemies: To be updated…

Mario and Captain Olimar run into Bowser’s destroyed Clown Car. Mario inspects it and sees large koopa tracks leading from the crashed vehicle.

But just then, the sky began to darken and the clouds started to swirl around. Mario and Captain Olimar made ready to fight but, from the clouds, came a sudden flash of light and a fiery ball descended onto the ground. Mario and Captain Olimar jumped and prepared to attack whatever descended from the sky. From the smoldering ruins, came a pink puffball thing. It sat dazed and then jumped up to it’s feet.

Enter Kirby!

Kirby got up and looked up to the sky and back to Mario and Captain Olimar. He grabbed both of their hands and started to run. From the swirling clouds came a massive swarm of flying creatures that fanned out and engulfed the sky.

Characters: Mario, Captain Olimar, Kirby

Location: Jungle

Enemies: Kneekbak

This level is pretty straight forward in terms of design. Kneekbaks will charges at you from different and dive-bomb you.

However, in the middle of the level, there will be a puzzle to solve. The puzzle comes in the form of a Poe from Legend of Zelda. They will start spinning and teleport. The player must hit the right one. If not, they will be either frozen, electrocuted, or burned (depending on the Poe that was hit). Hitting the right Poe four tines will allow the player to continue.

The player encounter more Kneekbaks until they encounter a waterfall. They must jump down the waterfall by jumping on logs. This takes some patience. However, occasionally a geyser will shoot up and knock the opponent.

After completing this part, the player must run down a slope to escape a rolling boulder. At one point, the boulder will break into three smaller boulders. Outrun the boulder by grabbing onto a vine at the end.

When the boulders pass, jump back and down proceed to the end point to finish the stage.

Mario, Captain Olimar, and Kirby managed to escape the Kneekbaks and rested at a clearing. Overhead, the Kneekbaks were swarming overhead.

Suddenly, a purple vortex appeared out of thin air and a massive gnarled claw appeared from it. The claw made to grab for Mario but Captain Olimar threw himself in front instead. The monster claw grabbed ahold of Captain Olimar and dragged him into the vortex and was gone. Mario and Kirby stood there; stunned.

Meanwhile, a blond hair youth was staring eye to eye at a blaster wielding fox…..

To Be Continued…

The jungle was gone. What was the Kong Family Jungle was now a barren wasteland and Dixie Kong was at a lost to what to do. Both Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong were gone and she was left alone. Overhead, the wind blew violently and lightning seared the sky. Dixie Kong was braver to be scared of lightning though and with a rush, she grabbed her hat and ran out of her pink tree house. She wasn’t sure where to head first but, ahead, she found a trail of left over bananas. This must be the way to Donkey Kong and Diddy! Dixie Kong ran ahead; following each banana but she failed to see the looming mechanical floating isle that hovered in the distance.

Name: Dixie Kong

Universe: Donkey Kong

Debut: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest

Element Alignment: Wind

Affinity: Good

Reason for Fighting: Romance

Dixie Kong is Diddy Kiong’s girlfriend and partner in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest. Together, they fought off King K. Rool and his Kremling minions to save Donkey Kong. He can use her hair to attack, spin the air, and lift up barrels and crates to fight against Kremlings. While not exactly fast, she is strong and a very good jumper. She starred in her third game, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble alongside her cousin, Kiddy Kong.

Dixie Kong’s Stats

Power: **
Weight: *
Defense: **
Speed: ***
Jump: *****
Recovery: *****
Element: ****

Dixie Kong does not boast much in power, weight or defense and her speed is less then Diddy Kong but she has tremendous jumping abilities and an excellent recovery ability. Most of her moves allows her to recover to the stage in someway or the other as well with her throws. She is best spent in mid-air or on the ground using dashing type attacks. She might not be fast but her attacks have very little lag and pack a little punch to them. As well, many of her attacks allows her to combo into them. Hit fast and combo the opponents is the best strategy for Dixie Kong players.

Proposed B Move Set

Neutral B – Vine Lasso

Side B – Spinning Hair Top

Up B – Hair a’Copter

Down B – Orange Grenade

The Final Trio

Final Smash: Cannon Shot

Final Melee – Tiny Kong

Final Brawl – Ponytail Monster

Descriptions

Vine Lasso is Dixie’s Neutral B special move. Dixie pulls out a vine lasso and starts twirling it above her head. Simply pressing B will cause Dixie to chuck the lasso a short distance. However, holding down B and charging it will cause Dixie to throw the lasso farther. If it hits the opponent, they will become stuck in the lasso and stunned for 6 seconds, no matter how much it is charged. In the air, the stun will last 5 seconds. Moving the the control stick and pressing the attack button may quicken the time. Dixie can also use this to latch onto the side of the stage. The lasso itself does no damage but it can be set up for combos. When Kirby copies this ability, he cannot tether onto the side of the stage.

Spinning Hair Top is Dixie’s Side B special move. Dixie rushes forward while spinning in a circle for 3 rotations. Her ponytail is spread out hitting the opponent each rotation. The attack does 5% damage per hit for a total of 15% damage. It also be used as a recovery move since Dixie moves forward in the air. However, it is slower in the air and doesn’t gain that much distance but it still a decent recovery move. She can’t double jump out of it but she can wall jump if she gets near a ledge.

Hair a’Copter is Dixie’s Up B recovery special move. Dixie jumps high in the air much like Peach’s Recovery move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. However, she begins spinning in the air and slowly falls to the stage while spinning. Each rotation does 1% damage and she does between 6-10 rotations. This is one of the of the best recovery moves in SSB4 because of it’s long range and combo ability. She goes into a helpless state if hit from the air during this unless she gets near to a wall in which she can wall jump out of it.

Orange Grenade is Dixie’s Down B special move. Dixie takes out a orange grenade and tosses it across the stage. Holding down B will change how far the orange grenade is thrown. If it will explode if it hits something on impact. The grenade lasts for 4 seconds after thrown and will explode. Holding down B doesn’t change how big or damaging the explosion is. While in the air, Dixie slightly jumps up in the air while chucking the grenade downwards. This gives her a slightly higher boost. She can then do a double jump or a recovery move. The boost in the air is very small but can help her grab onto a ledge.

Cannon Shot is Dixie’s Final Smash. A cannon barrel falls to the ground and onto Dixie Kong. It then takes aim, charges dramatically, and then fires Dixie Kong into opponents. It does 73% damage with high knock back but, the only problem is if the cannon shot misses, Dixie falls into a helpless state so it’s best to hit your opponents since this stops her movement and the fall to her death. It can also be used as a recovery move.

Beginning Cinematic: Dixie Kong jumps up and down and shrieks. She looks back and a Blast Barrel begins rolling along the ground.

Tiny Kong is Dixie Kong’s Final Melee. Being Tiny Kong’s older sister, Dixie also has shape changing abilities. She shrinks down to the size of a person affected by the Poison Mushroom. However, her strength increases by 15% for all her attacks. As well, the opponents that are hit are monetarily stunned for .5 seconds. The Final Melee lasts for 8 seconds but it’s enough time for her to damage her opponents. Her attacks become very fast and powerful and she retains her jumping ability. She gains 12% Super Armor at this point but, since she is so small, it is hard to hit her.

Beginning Cinematic: Dixie Kong begins to focus her energy. Her arms grow small, her legs, her head, and then the rest of her body.

Ponytail Monster is Dixie Kong’s Final Brawl. Dixie Kong begins to dance on one foot and glows with a strange orange energy. Her ponytail begins to grow bigger and bigger. It then shoots out and slams into the opponent. It carries the opponent high into the air and then crashes down to the ground. Bits and pieces of hair fly into the air. Dixie Kong’s ponytail returns back to normal afterward. It does 66-68% damage.

Proposed Stage: Timber’s Island

Proposed Taunts

Right Side – Dixie takes off her hats and flips int he air and catches it. If she is facing Diddy Kong, she blows him a kiss.

Left Side -

Up – Dixie Kong takes her pony tail and flips it in the air in a nonchalant attitude.

Down – Dixie Kong stands on her hands and claps with her feet twice. She then gets back to her normal pose.

Proposed Winning Poses

Dixie Kong jumps up and down and claps her hands each time.

Dixie Kong begins peeling a banana and eats it slowly.

Dixie Kong does a break dance on the ground. She then flips and stands on one foot while doing a Crane-looking stance.

Proposed Stage Entrance

Breaks out of a DK barrel and does a twirl and resumes her normal stance.

Proposed Dixie Kong Move Set

Ground attacks

Normal

Neutral Attack – Dixie Kong slaps once, then twice, and then swings around and starts slapping the opponent with her ponytail. Each attack does 1% damage while the repeated ponytail attack does 1% damage each hit.

Dash Attack – A spinning ponytail spin. Hits the opponent once for a good knock back. Does 6% damage. Very little ending lag. It can be combo’d shortly afterward.

Strong Side – Round house kick. Hits once and does 9% damage with a little starting lag but little ending lag. Below-average knock back.

Strong Up – Claps above her, much like DK’s Up Smash. Slow start up lag but can easily be combo’d after. Does 5% damage. It does below-average horizontal knock back.

Strong Down- Does a grounded spinning kick. It does 5% damage one hit and 3% behind her for a total of 8% damage. Slow ending lag. It launches a opponent horizontally if hit on the side of the stage while hanging.

Smash

Side Smash – Spins back and slaps the opponent with her ponytail twice. Each slap does 7% damage uncharged, 9% fully charged for a total of 14% to 18% if fully charged. Decent knock back.

Up Smash – Swings her ponytail over her head in a wide arc. Little ending lag and has a wide range of attack and a long reach. It does 10% uncharged and 22% fully charged. High vertical knock back.

Down Smash – A unique attack where she punches the opponent stuns, and then stands on her hands quickly and kicks the opponent up in the air. A little lag and does 14% damage uncharged and 26% damage charged. This is her strongest smash attack.

Other

Ledge Attack – Launches herself up and spins in the air with her leg out. Does 6% damage. It has little knock back but it can be combo’d afterward.

100% Ledge Attack – Climbs up and sweeps the opponents legs from underneath them. Does 8% damage. No ending lag.

Floor Attack – Gets up and spins her ponytail in a circle. Very quick. Does 4% damage and a horizontal knock back.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Aerial – Spins around and stretches out her ponytail for an attack that does 6% damage. It has very little knock back but no landing lag at all.

Forward Aerial – Swings around and smashes her hand against the opponent. One of her stronger aerials and it does 12% damage. However, if it connects at Dixie’s shoulder or middle of the arm, it only does 10% damage. Moderate knock back ability.

Back Aerial – Does a drop kick and then starts spinning for a drill-like affect . A bair that has a good amount of knock back potential. It does 4% damage for each hit for a total of 14% damage. A little ending lag after finishing.

Up Aerial – Overhead Flip Kick. Decent knockback, fairly fast.

Down Aerial – Turns upside and thrusts her ponytail downwards. Quite possibly one her stronger attacks. It is a meteor smash only when the tip of her ponytail connects with the opponent. It does 10% if not a meteor smash, 15% if meteor smashed.

Grabs and Throws

Grab – Dixie Kong grabs with her ponytail.

Pummel – Squeezes the opponent with her pony tail strength. It does 3% damage each time.

Forward Throw – Crunches them in her hair and then chucks opponents forward. Does 7% damage with high knock back potential.

Back Throw – Slams them on the ground in front of her with her hair and then tosses the opponent behind her. The first slam does 6% damage and the toss does 2% damage for a total of 8% damage total.

Up Throw – Takes the opponent and chucks them high into the air with her hair. It does 12% damage and is her strongest throw. Good KO potential and vertical knock back.

Down Throw – Jumps up int he air and then slams the opponent down using her hair. It does 10% damage overall. The opponent bounces back up to Dixie allowing her to combo into the throw.

My Thoughts

At first, I wasn’t sure how Dixie Kong would be played as or if she would be good as a playable character. I thought she would be a Diddy Kong clone but, after some thinking, I thought using her pony tail and floating ability would be interesting. I started thinking around the lines if Peach was a monkey and it started from there. I really ended up liking Dixie Kong and found a new appreciation for her, not only for her DKC games but as a fighter in SSB. I think she would make a great addition.

I added Dixie Kong because I felt the DK series needed a new representative after being ignored for 2 games as well as a foil for Diddy Kong. I felt the game could create some dramatic tension with a boyfriend and girlfriend in a game.

Chances of Being in SSB4

50% – I would say Dixie Kong has a fair chance to be in SSB4. She was possibly planned for Super Smash Bros. Brawl due to found data in the game as well appearing as a trophy since Melee. She has a unique move set that be much different compared to Diddy. However, I would say she has a tough contender: King K. Rool who happens to be a villain. Those the two minorities battle each other for a spot in the roster: Dixie Kong being a female and King K. Rool being a villain.

As you might have noticed, characters have at least one or two Buy-able costumes. These are download

As you might have noticed, characters have at least one or two Buy-able costumes. These are downloadable content that costs roughly $5 to download.

Each downloadable content comes with perks that bolsters a certain characters stats while decreasing the opposite stat. For example, a 5% speed increase might mean a 2% shield decrease. It wholly depends on the buy-able costume.

Downloadable costumes, in no way, affect the characters identity. For example, a Isa Jo costume will not change Saki to Isa Jo but it is merely a costume. It does not change Saki into Isa.

Alt Colors for Costumes

While adding the buy-able costumes, a concern came up if two people picked the same costume for a character such as Penguin Suit Mario. If this happens, the player will have a different shade of the suit. This applies to four players. The following shades are:

Light (second pick)
Dark (third pick)
Invert (fourth pick)

This is a first come, first serve basis. However, a player is unable to select the shade they want; even if no one selected their costume.

You can select a costume by clicking on your character until the last palette swap. After the last palette swap, the costumes begin. On Online, when a costume is selected, a message appears on the opponents screen of the character, costume name, and player selecting it.

The Mushroom Kingdom wss in ruins. The Toads, once a peaceful race, vanished when the floating mechanical island appeared. Princess Peach sat next to a withered cherry blossom tree and wept. Not even her fearless Mario wasn’t to be seen. Suddenly, above her, a shadow fell above and darkened her ground. From the shadow in the sky dropped a reptile of monstrous girth. Peach, at first recoiled, until Bowser held out his hand in truce. Peach looked at Bowser uncertainly until, in the far of distance, the floating mechanical island was approaching. Bowser, with a distressed growl, grabbed her hand and leapt up to the clown car and took off away from the mechanical island.

Universe: Mario

Debut:

Element Alignment: Wind

Affinity: Good

Reason for Fighting: Royalty

Peach returns to SSB4 with all her trademark abilities and more! Peach has the ability to float in the air, pick up turnips, and use Toad as an attack against opponents. of course, she resembles her most recent appearance in the Mario series.

Changes from SSBB to SSB4

The major change Peach has from SSBB is allowing her to KO more easily. Her Down Smash has been buffed up but not as strong as it was in SSBM. Despite that, it can still KO at mid to high percentages. When she shields, she unfurls her parasol. While weaker, it has a longer shield life then most. Her Peach Bomber also covers more distance allowing Peach to use another recovery move. As well, the chances of Peach pulling a Beam Saber, a Bomb-omb, or Mr. Saturn has increase by .05%. Other than that, Peach hasn`t changed much since SSBB save for more killing potential.

Peach`s Special B Move Set

Neutral B – Toad

Side B – Peach Bomber

Up B – Peach Parasol

Down B – Vegetable

The Final Trio

Final Smash – Peach Wheel of Moods

Final Melee – Peach Blossom

Final Brawl – Peach Growth

Descriptions

Peach Wheel of Moods is Peach`s new Final Smash. A game show wheel showing colorful emoticon faces of calm, gloomy, joyful, and angry. The wheel will turn and then slowly stop on one of the moods. Each mood does something different:

Calm restores all of Peach`s health and drains 50% from the opponents. It is a damaging move but it has no knock back and the players are not stunned after the Final Smash finished.

Gloomy causes Peach to cry and rain clouds gather above her. This changes peach`s element to Water. Water will then begin pushing opponents off the stage. It does 10% damage for each hit and does decent knock back damage at lower percentages and can OHKO opponents at higher percentages.

Joyful causes Peach to begin singing. A wind storm whips up and begins pushing opponents across the stage like a cyclone. It does 60-65% damage to any characters caught in the cyclone.

Angry causes Peach to turn on fire and, much like the Mario Finale, launches a fire storm at opponents. However, unlike Mario, the fireballs resemble burning hearts. It does 88-73% damage in all and is her most damaging of the four. Maybe it shows her burning love for Mario?

Beginning Cinematic: Peach begins to dance and a wheel of emotions falls down from the sky.

Peach Blossom is Peach’s Final Melee. It has the same properties as before.

Beginning Cinematic: Peach begins to dance as the stage darkens and the spotlight falls only on her. Cherry blossoms begin to fall around her as she dances.

Brawl Princess is Peach`s Final Brawl. Peach walks up the opponent and flings a peach seed at him or her. The peach seed quickly sprouts under the opponent. It then shoots up and entangles the opponent in it’s limbs and branches. Peach places her hand on the trunk of the tree and it instantly explodes into a flurry of peach blossoms. Peach twirls around says “Sweeet!” and holds her parasol. The attack does 58-63% damage and dies high knock back.

Peach`s Current Move Set (taken from the SmashWikia)

Ground Attacks

Normal

Dash Attack – Strikes with both arms extended forward, then quickly spreads her arms out. Deals a two-hit combo. Each hit deals 4% damage, racking up to 8% damage if both hits land. Very little knockback. The first hit has knockback growth and at higher percents it rarely follows into the second hit.

Neutral Attack – Double slap. Deals a two-hit combo. Each slap deals 3% damage, racking up to 6% damage if both hits land. Excellent panic move and grab setup due to its speed (comes out in just two frames). The first slap has set knockback, so it will never KO, even at 999%. Interestingly, her second slap is also her most ranged normal move. The move is possibly based on the “Super Slap” move she had in Super Mario RPG.

Forward Tilt – A 180 degree high kick. In other games, she is not shown to have flexibility. Can deal up to 13% damage up close, and as low as 7% damage from further away. Capable of seriously juggling heavies at low percents if they lose their second jump. Also has decent knockback up close.

Up Tilt – Raises hand up, creating a heart cloud. Very good, disjointed range and high priority. Deals 13% damage.

Down Tilt – A downward hand sweep to the ground. Deals 10% damage. Has good vertical knockback, deceptively large range, and can Meteor Smash opponents in the air or hanging on the ledge. Peach’s second highest range move. Moves her forward a little and can be used to pseudo-crawl. Easily leads into a forward smash.

Smash

Forward Smash – Strikes with either a frying pan from Super Mario RPG, a golf club, or a tennis racket, from the various Mario Tennis and Golf games. Damage and knockback vary with each weapon.

Frying Pan – Deals 18-25% damage (19-27% if sweetspotted). Vertical Knockback. Lowest range, but highest knockback of the 3 objects.

Golf Club – Deals 15-21% damage. About 45 degrees Knockback. Largest range and good knockback.

Tennis Racket – Deals 12-16% damage (13-18% if sweetspotted). Horizontal Knockback. Average range, deals very powerful knockback when sweetspotted, but weak knockback when not sweetspotted.

Up Smash – Twirls around with arm raised. Deals 8-11% damage when not sweetspotted, 15-21% when sweetspotted at her palm, and 17-23% damage when sweetspotted at her shoulder, and 12-13% if it connects late into the move. Powerful vertical knockback, if sweetspotted. The attack is sweetspotted when an opponent is hit into the air with her palm or shoulder. Peach’s strongest move when sweetspotted, in terms of knockback (excluding Bob-Omb or sick Turnip), though it has very little horizontal range. Sweetspotting with the shoulder is very difficult to do, but has the highest KO potential of all of Peach’s attacks.

Down Smash – Spins dress around like a blade, slashing whoever gets caught in it. Can deal a four-hit combo (although, landing all four hits is hard to manage, even against large and heavy characters.) Each hit deals 5-7% damage, racking up to 20-28% if all four hits land. Usually two or three hits will land. Very low knockback, but can stage-spike an opponent at the edge, and long duration allows it to punish spot dodges.

Other attacks

Ledge attack- Lunges onto the stage, hip first. 6% damage.

100% ledge attack- Slowly gets up and swirls her body in a similar fashion to Mario’s down smash, only with less range. 10% damage.

Floor attack- Swirls around in a similar fashion to Mario’s down smash. 8% damage.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Air – Spins around with arms extended. Deals 13% damage when sweetspotted, 10% if hit shortly afterwards and 7% if hit at the end of the attack. Decent knockback. Good for edgeguarding.

Forward Air – Strikes with her crown (aka: Crown Slap.) Deals 15% damage. Good knockback, and is often considered her most reliable kill move though still not an extremely reliable KO move and is usually stale. Good for edgeguarding.

Back Air – swings her hips out behind her. Quicker than Forward Aerial, surprisingly high knockback when opponent is high percentage. Can kill around 120% if opponent is near the ledge. Very high ending lag in midair, but has almost no landing lag, which can combo into a f-smash or f-tilt. Deals 14% damage when sweetspotted and 7% when sourspotted.

Up Air – An upward kick. Deals 13% damage. Good for aerial combos. At low percents, floating Up Aerials will string into each other for a devastating combo.

Down Air – A series of four downward kicks. Can deal a four-hit combo. First three kicks deal 3% damage each, with the fourth kick dealing 5% damage, racking up to 14% damage if all four kicks land. Fourth kick has weak vertical knockback. An excellent edgeguarding move against opponents who try to return to the stage at a low angle. Also, due to its long duration, is nearly impossible to air dodge out of. Very good for aerial combos, and for attacking shields.

Grabs & Throws

Pummel – Kicks the opponents shin. Deals 2% damage per hit.

Back Throw – Places opponent behind her and bumps him/her away with rear. Deals 11% damage. Decent horizontal knockback, but not enough to KO.

Forward Throw – Slaps opponent away. Deals 10% damage. Decent knockback, the strongest of Peach’s throws, though rarely KOs. Can chaingrab heavies at low percentages provided that one buffers a dash grab.

Up Throw – Puts opponent above her, and volleys him/her upward. Despite quick animation, this throw deals two hits. First hit deals 2% damage, while second hit deals 6% damage, racking up to 8% damage in total.

Down Throw – Sits on opponent. Deals 7% damage. Great for chain-grabbing heavy characters and fast-fallers at low percentages. Good for follow-ups.

Taunts

Up: Takes her parasol out and spins it, saying “Sweet”.
Left Side: Sings and dances in a taunting manner (“Ring Around the Rosie”) while holding her dress, while musical notes float around her.
Down: Spins around, winks, points, bends a little and says “Uh-huh!”. (Same animation as Melee, but with changed sounds)

Stage Entrance

Appears spinning out of a shower of hearts, then winks and poses with her parasol saying “Hi!”.

My Thoughts

I thought it was a shame that peach was so nerfed in SSBB as opposed to her SSBM version. However, it`s not too surprising. That is why I chose for a happy medium between the two. I wanted a mix between her SSBM version and her SSBB version. i felt that could help do well in the game as well as improve her tier list standings.

Yesterday, I revealed that new alternate colors will be present in SSB4. Today, I will be revealing several new items that will appear in SSb4!

Gust Bellows from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Name: Gust Bellows

Universe: Legend of Zelda

Debut: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)

Element: Wind

Item Class: Weapon

Rarity: Uncommon

The Gust Bellow comes fromLegend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. In the game, they were used to remove sand and dust to reveal secret items and objects and to blow away light weight enemies. It sucks in air from behind and blows out in front.

In SSB4, the Gust Bellow is a Wind element weapon. By pressing and holding down A, the player can shoot out gusts of air at opponents. While it does no damage, it can push them fairly far distances; especially those who are light weight. Lower percentages do not move as far while higher ones do. Heavy weights like Bowser and Donkey Kong hardly feel the effects of the Gust Bellows unless they are at a very high percentage.

Ice Flower from Super Mario Bros. Wii

Name: Ice Flower

Universe: Super Mario Bros.

Debut:

Element: Ice

Item Type:

Rarity: Common

The Ice Flower acts much like the Fire Flower. When A is pressed and held, a stream of ice blasts out and slowly freezes the opponent. It doesn’t automatically freeze but gradually while both hurting and slowly down the opponent. When thrown, it deals 6% ice damage.

Pilotwing's Hang-glider from Pilotwings Wii

Name: Pilotwing

Universe: ?

Debut:

Element: None

Item Type: Equipment

Rarity: Uncommon

The Pilotwing is the hang-glider from the Pilotwing games. Players grab hold of a hang-glider and take off while trying to perform tricks and navigate around obstacles.

In SSB4, players can grab hold of a Pilotwing and, while holding Up on the control pad, will utilize the hang-glider much alike to Pit’s Flight ability. It can only be used once but, unless the player loses or uses it, will stay with the player for 2 minutes. If the player takes enough damage, they will drop the hang-glider and a foe can pick it up instead. If a character, like Pit, picks up the hang-glider; they have a much longer flight time then with out it. Of course, lighter characters like Pikachu and Kirby have a much faster, higher, and longer flight ability then heavy weights like Bowser and Donkey Kong.

My Thoughts
I always wanted a item that allows a flight ability that is not exclusive to characters with wings. My last prediction was the Wing Cap from Super Mario Bros. 64. As for the Ice Flower and Gust Bellows, I felt it was only natural to include these two. The Gust Bellows, though, was originally meant to be included in the Special move set for Link buy I made it an item instead.

I hope you enjoyed this item update. I had fun making it and I really hope all these items make it into the game.

In a earlier update, I released several new items that will appear in SSB4 such as the Fairy and Rem

In a earlier update, I released several new items that will appear in SSB4 such as the Fairy and Remote Control Rocket. Later, I updated with several returning items such as the Ray Gun, Super Scope, and Hammer. Well, since SSB4 is all about taking the Super Smash Bros. series and taking the other step, I will be introducing a new key feature in items.

Alternate Colors for Items!

Mechanics

Every now and then, during a match, a item will appear that is colored different then it’s original item. This is called a alternate color. Much like how characters have palette swaps, items have alternate colors as well. They appear randomly during the match from crates, boxes, barrels, capsules, and thin air. Because they are different color then the original item, each alternate color has a increased stat such as throwing speed, ammunition amount, and attack power. Knowing which is which will help you gain a slight advantage when attack.

Alternate Colors for the Home Run Bat

Red Home-Run Bat: Does 5% more damage and delivers more knock back.
Orange Home-Run Bat: The home-run swing is 2.5% faster.
Gray Home-Run Bat: The home-run swing has a disjointed hit box thus a farther reach.

Alternate Colors of the Ray Gun

Blue Ray Gun – The shots fired travel 3% faster.
Yellow Ray Gun – Shots do 4% more damage and has a higher knock back.

Size: Small

Obstacle Level: 2 (out of 5)

Type: Stationary Platform, moving background

Availability: Starter

Nintendogs is a new stage as well as Universe introduced in SSB4. As of right now, it is only represented by a stage…which is this stage! Nintendogs is a unique game where players take care of their lovable dogs as they grow from puppies to adults and teach them new tricks and go to dog contests. The games come contain a multiple types of breeds but this stage has all of them contained into one adorable package! Ooze with cuteness as you brawl on this stage!

Appearance

Nintendogs first starts off much like the above picture, a dog being walked. In front of the background is a solitary stage that is made to look like a dog biscuit. It is rather large, about the same size as the platform on the Helberd Stage. The breed of the dog is randomized unless you are playing on a 3DS which will import your dog into the game. How near is that? The background is a street with Mii’s from your WiiU or 3DS taking randomized dogs out for strolls. Occasionally, they will pass by and wave at the invisible dog walker. However, the dog sees a squirrel and takes off to chase the squirrel dog. Of course, the stage is pulled along with the dog. Shortly after, the dog gives up and walks into a nearby BARC shop and begins shopping for dog treats, toys, and collars. The dog will stop shortly and the stage will disappear. Players can either jump onto the dogs head or the two shelves on either side of the head. However, the dog will bark occasionally which may toss a player into the air. Shortly after, the dog bisquit stage re-appears and the dog begins to move outside the store. It walks down the street with stage in tow to a nearby house that appears to be its own.

Inside is a comfortable living space with a very Western feel. Inside the house are three other dogs of a randomized breed. The walking dog will run off to play with them; leaving the platform alone for a while.

However, after 2 minutes, one of the dogs will run into the stage and knock it around. It will then go back to the group of dogs. Not even 30 seconds after that, a ball was appear and be thrown at the screen. It doesn’t hurt the players but the dogs go running after it since, well, that’s what they do. The knock the stage completely around while chasing after it. The background then swivels to where the dogs are fighting over the ball…playfully of course.

Out of the blue, one of the randomized dogs will appear in front of the stage, completely blocking the platform from view (a nod to the Nintendog trophy in Super Smash Bros Brawl). The dog will disappear after 18 seconds and the stage will begin blinking quickly, It will suddenly disappear and they will land on the back of the dog (that blocked the stage just moments before). The dog will remain motionless for a while until it starts running. Hang on as you might be bucked up from the dogs back. It must be a huge dog or the players became smaller! Players can fight on the dogs back and head which will occasionally go down and out of the stage.

At this point, the camera will change and they see the backside of the dog (the butt, if you will). This is a very small platform but, after 20 seconds, the dog biscuit platform reappears and the stage loops back around again.

View this video to get an idea of the playing scene.

Hazards

When the dog begins chasing the squirrel, the platform will shake slightly causing players to become uneasy on thier feet. The stage iwll also twist violently when the dog makes a sharp turn. Later, when the dogs run after the ball, they will knock the stage and cause it to spin in a 360 degree angle. It is best for players to jump to found getting whacked by the stage or trapped underneath it. Third, one of the randomized dogs will appear and block the view from the stage. That last hazard is when the players are set on the dogs back. The dog will begin running and it will move its hip up and down. Standing on in the middle of the back is the safest spot since the shoulder and hip can toss players high in the air at the right moment. It can possibly KO at higher percentages. As well, the head will occasionally disappear from view which may KO a foe if they are on top of the head.

My Thoughts

I found it really interesting when SSBB included a Nintendog as an Assist Trophy and that the Animal Crossing Universe had just a stage representative. Bearing that in mind, I began to search for a Universe that didnt have a character rep but was represented by a stage, item, or assist trophy. Thus, after searching around, Nintendogs seemed like a great idea to be represented by a stage. Never playing Nintendogs in my life, I sent to design a appropriate stage for the series. I hoped to capture the cuteness and playfulness of the series

Chances of Being in SSB4

18% – Nintendogs is one of Nintendo’s most successful franchise. It easily broke into Western markets and opened the door for casual gamers. Bearing that in mind, we might see a Nintendogs inspired stage on SSB4.

Universe: Fire Emblem

Debut: Super Smash Bros. 4

Obstacle Level: 2 (out of 5)

Type: Stationary

Availability: Starter

Castle Crimea is the Fire Emblem stage representative and a major home stage for the Fire Emblem characters. It does not appear in any of the Fire Emblem games but it was designed to emulate the feel of Fire Emblem.

Appearance

The stage is fought upon a castle roof much like Castle Siege. However, it appears to be the roof of the gate of the castle. The background overlooks the battlefield as two military factions fight against each other. Soldiers, archers, horsemen, and generals can be fighting side by side against each other. It is truly a war zone. However, above it all fights the brawlers but whose side they are on, none know. In the background trebuchets “Pachyderms” fling flaming shots into the fortifications. On either side of the gate are two towers that act much like in Shadow Moses Island. That cannot be destroyed.

After a minute and a half, the gate is toppled over and the players fall to the ground level where they must fight over the rubble that used to be the gate. In the back ground, the fight continues as before but the right is all around the brawlers. The ground is uneven and strewn with rubble and stone. Occasionally, a Pachyderm will fling another flaming tar boulder into the walls which will crash onto the stage. It does 20% Fire damage and explodes with high knock back. Look for falling shadows to avoid the boulders.

The gate is not fixed and players will fight in the ruined courtyard until the match is over.

Hazards and Movement

This stage is pretty plain and simple with the only hazard being the toppling of the gate and the flaming tar boulders that crash onto the stage every so often. Their is no moving platforms or changing background in the second part. However, players can walk-off the stage since their are no edges.

My Thoughts

I had a really hard time creating a Fire Emblem stage since the series doesn”t really have much in the way of descriptive locations so I decided to make a stage much like in Brawl that captures Fire Emblem in one stage. I originally made a stage that had several phases but I decided that was way to much like Castle Siege so I opted for one that is somewhat similar but different in terms of game play and movements. I wasn’t looking forward to making this stage at first but, no its all said and done, I am starting to like it more!

Chances of Being in SSB4

?% – I really have no idea what Fire Emblem stage will appear in SSB4. As mentioned before, Castle Siege does not represent any particular game in the series but as a whole. I am not sure if we will see a stage based off a particular location in the games or a stage that represents the series as a whole again.

The sky darkened and the earth trembled. Down the dusty road was a lone bike with a Giant W printed on the side of the bike. It puttered along in the darkness that seemed to swallow up everything. Wario looked about his bike but gritted his teeth and growled. Suddenly, a piece of rock jutted from his bike and knocked him off. His bike crashed and he went tumbling down the cliff: over, and over, and over, and over, and over. When he landed, he found himself face to face with a hoard of bright shiny gold. He went to grab it but he suddenly stopped. A purple vortex appeared out of nowhere and from it, a gnarled monster-like hand that size of a boulder reach out. It grabbed him around his fat belly and began to frag Wario into the purple vortex. He struggled and bellowed but he could not release himself. He reached for the hoard of gold but it slowly disappeared from view as he was dragged into the swirly vortex.

Wario from Super Smash Bros.
Universe: Wario

Debut: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (1992)

Element Alignment: Ground

Affinity: Bad

Reason for Fighting: Greed

Wario is the opposite in Mario in every sense of the word. He is greedy, bad tempered, cheats, and selfish. Despite this, he has his own Wario series and has appeared in many of the Mario spinoff games. He comes back to SSB4 with his outfit, his motorcycle, and his alter ego, Wario Man.

Changes from SSBB to SSB4

Wario was extremely buffed up in SSBB. I suggest a few nerfs and buffs in certain areas. Wario is now invulnerable aerial grab releases. Wario’s Wario Waft has decreased 1% damage. Wario’s Down Aerial can kill shields. His Up aerial has decreased by 1% and his Forward Smash by 2%.

Wario’s Special B Move Set

Neutral B – Chomp

Side B – Wario Bike

Final Smash – Atomic Waft

Final Melee – Super Wario

Final Brawl – Wario Crash

Descriptions

Atomic Waft is Wario’s new Final Smash. Wario builds up energy (much like the Wario Waft in the SSBB trailer). He then releases a huge fart attack that resembles the one in the SSBB trailer. It does 60-70% damage has a very high knock back. It can OHKO at even low percentages.

Beginning Cinematic: Wario begins to laugh but stops suddenly and bends over. A bright light begins appearing near his butt and his stomach swells up.

Super Wario is Wario’s Final Melee. It has the same properties as before.

Beginning Cinematic: Wario grabs a piece of Garlic and eats it. His body starts to distort and shake until he transforms, in earnest, into Super Wario.

Wario Crash is Wario’s Final Brawl. Wario jumps on his motorcycle and starts revving it. He then drives at the opponent like a bat out of hell. However, as he is about to reach the opponent, the bike wipes out on a small rock and launches itself into the air while throwing Wario into the opponent in the process. Wario shakes his head but, before he can react, the motorcycle plunges itself into Wario’s butt. Wario shoots off screaming while knocking the opponent with him. The camera shows the level and, in the distance, a huge fart cloud appears. It does 60-63% damage.

Wario’s Current Move Set (taken from SmashWikia) – Edited to fit my blog format

Neutral – Left hook, then right hook. Decent knockback. Slow for a jab, but still good. Has decent range and a slight disjoint. 1st jab can even set up a forward smash. oes 6% damage at each hit.

F-Tilt – Swings his right fist in a circle then thrusts it forward. Has slight start-up but little ending lag with great range, including a slight disjoint. Good KO move at about 130%. Oddly, his voice plays at an earlier time when angled up. Wario’s longest ranged non-projectile. May be based off of an attack from Wario’s look-alike Booster in Super Mario RPG. Does 14% damage.

U-Tilt -Raises both hands above his head, raising the roof. Decent vertical launcher. Does 10% damage.

D-Tilt – Stabs his index finger at the ground in front of him. Quite quick compared to his other moves, but has ending lag. Below average range, but not that bad. Has a disjointed hitbox. Does 8% damage.

Dash – Trips and falls flat on his face, sliding a small bit. Very fast start-up, but has lots of ending lag that makes it a very punishable move. Can be canceled for DACUS. Half of the late hit cannot hurt airborne opponents. Does 7%

Smash

Up Smash – Head grows as Wario spins, hitting multiple times with the head. Poor range, but deals very good damage and has good priority. Best used for DACUS. Can KO at high percents, although the knockback isn’t too high.Does 1% damage but can hit between 1 – 5 times. The final sixth hit does 10% damage.

Down Smash – Spins on the ground, bashing foes with his head. First hit has good knockback, subsequent hits have gradually weaker strength and knockback and final frames are very punishable. Somewhat similar to Wolf’s neutral-air. A poor move in general (Even Ike can punish a Perfect Shielded one with a guaranteed forward smash). Does 13% damage.

Forward Smash – Rams his trademark Dash Attack from the Wario Land games and Wario World. A combination of super armour and transcendent priority makes the attack extremely difficult to interrupt; it can only be halted if Wario is grabbed or hit from behind by an attack strong enough to clank with it. Very fast but with poor range and easily punished when shielded, it has long ending lag. Wario runs in place while charging. His 2nd best KO move after Wario Waft. High knockback. Does 19% damage.

Aerials

Nair – Accompanied by a gradually lowering sound of falling, Wario extends his hands and fingers, then spins in place. A quick move to use in the air. Great for spacing and hard to punish. Also great when short hopping with it out of shield. Both hits can connect at very low percentages. Does 9% damage.

Fair – Sticks his foot a short distance forward. Very short ranged and very little damage, but very high speed, surprisingly strong, high priority and last a long time. Best used for “Wall of Pain”-style attacking. Can set up a half charged Wario Waft. Has good momentum cancelling, and is also a very useful edgeguarding move. Does 7% damage.

Bair – Throws his head backwards, hitting with it, entire body horizontal. Similar to his forward air only stronger with longer end lag and much longer landing lag. Slightly disjointed hitbox. Does 10% damage.

Uair – Claps above his head with hands and feet. Very quick start-up, high knockback, can KO easily with low delay. The hitbox covers his whole body, even where he doesn’t clap, and has a slight horizontal disjoint. This is a great move to use on floaty characters with poor aerial defense. One of the best up-airs in the game. Does 17% damage.

Dair – Turns upside down and spins, drilling with his head. Has decent knockback, is very hard to DI out of, and is very effective if used after a short-hop without fast-falling. One of his main damage rackers due how long it lasts and how good it is for shield-stabbing. Can easily combine with other moves like his Forward Smash, Up Aerial, or Chomp if the very last hit does not connect. Hits 1-6 for 2% and the seventh hit does 4% damage thus totaling at 16% if successfully hit.

Throws

Pummel – Pokes his opponent in the torso. A fairly quick pummel. Does 2% damage.

Forward Throw – Spins the foe around and throws him/her forward. The lighter the character the faster he spins them. The best throw for racking up damage. Usually starts KO at about 150% on lighter characters near the edge with good DI. Identical to Mario and Luigi’s back throw, except the spun opponent doesn’t hurt other foes. Does 12% damage.

Back Throw – Hits them backward with his butt. Wario proceeds to briefly wiggle his behind with an open mouth. First hit does 2% damage while the second hit does 7% damage.

U-Throw – Throws them into the air and jumps up, headbutting them. Good against characters with poor air defense/easy to juggle characters. Can lead to rising fully charged Wario Waft against many characters, and also put them in a good position for up-airs. The first hit does 4% damage while the 2nd hit does 6% damage.

D-Throw – Throws the victim on the ground and sits violently on top of them, who is then knocked behind Wario. Probably based on the ground pound move in Wario Land and Wario World. Wario is capable of chaingrabbing with this, even chain grabbing 0-death on Bowser or 50-death on Falco and Wolf. Can also chain grab certain characters against walls. First hit does 4% damage while the 2nd hit does 3% damage.

Other

Floor (back) – Wario spins around with his fist extended. Does 6% damage.

Floor (front) – Wario pokes both forwards and backwards. Does 6% damage.

Edge (<100%) – Crawls up the ledge and flips onto his back, attacking with his head. Does 8% damage.

Edge (100%+) – Crawls up the ledge and slides his hand across the ground. Similar to his down tilt. Does 10% damage

Taunts

Up: Belly-laughs so hard (as heard by the Wii-mote when selecting Wario), his jaw unhinges, so he has to manually put it back with his hands. If he is holding the back tire of his bike, it looks as if he is biting it.

Left Side: Accompanied by a “wiggly” sound similar to the one heard while using Corkscrew. Wario wiggles his butt at the screen with his hands extended in each direction, and he teasingly snickers. Wario seems to float as the bottoms of his shoes are touching each other. His shortest taunt.

Down: Wario faces the screen, holds up three fingers with his left hand that seem to form a “W” for Wario, and then does the same with his right hand after putting away his left hand. Then, he holds them both out at the same time. Wario utters “Wah!” three times for each time he holds up a hand, the third “Wah!” having the most enthusiasm.

While riding Wario Bike (in any direction): Wario faces to his right and does his signature “W” sign at the screen with both hands and then picks his nose with his left hand. Another trick considered a taunt is when Wario does a wheelie by gently holding up on the control stick, where he stands on the back of his seat and flaps his right hand based on how fast he is going up and down.

Stage Entrance – Crashes in sideways on his bike while laughing, jumps off, and his bike explodes while he dusts himself off.

My Thoughts

Wario is considered, int he current tier list, as 6th overall. I think he should stay in that area but with a few nerfs. Other that that, is a very deceptive and technical character that requires a good amount of experience with to truly bring out his potential which I really like about him.

In the earlier update concerning Djinn, I mentioned that Djinn can be collected and be used to summon beings to attack opponents.

The first update features the summons, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter. All four of them cost one Djinn to summon that corresponds to the Summons element.

Venus Summon from Golden Sun

Name: Venus

Element Alignment: Earth

Djinn Requirement: One Venus Djinn

Type: Attack

Rank: Basic

A orange-yellow shifting Venus power comes from the ground and strikes at a opponent and has a high blast radius that can hit nearby opponents. It does 18% Earth Damage and can do an additional 3% damage for opponents in the Earth blast radius. Has decent knock back but little KO potential. Very quick summon.

Element Alignment: Fire

Djinn Eequirement: One Mars Djinn

Type: Attack

Rank: Basic

Mars materializes in a puff of fire and quickly crashes into opponents in a straight line. It doesn’t stop if it hits a opponent but continues in a straight line. The initial hit does 12% Fire damage with an additional 2% Fire Damage for a trail of fire that is left behind after it speeds through. This trail of fire lasts around 2 seconds after Mars passes through. Causes high damage to all opponents but cannot OHKO at low percentages. Best damage dealing basic Summon.

Element Alignment: Water

Djinn Requirement: One Mercury Djinn

Type: Attack

Rank: Basic

The Mercury Summons will erupt in a waterspout and race across the length of the stage. It will begin one one end and disappear on the other end. However, if the stage falls onto a platform below, it will drop down to that and continue. It causes around 3% Water damage but, as it progresses, it pushes back opponents as it makes its way across the stage thus accumulating more damage. If the stage is extremely long (i.e. Eldin Bridge), it will disappear after 12 seconds. It has the highest knock back for any Basic summon but it doesn’t do that much damage and doesn’t have that good of KO potential.

Djinn Requirement: One Jupiter Djinn

Type: Attack

Rank: Basic

The Jupiter Summons appears suddenly in the air and wraps itself around a opponent and begins attack the foe with Wind damage. It does 3% damage and does 6 hits for a total damage of 18% Water Damage. Any opponent caught in the cross fire will recieve only 1% damage for a total of 6% damage. It will then vanish. It does a significant amount of damage but has horrible knock back ability. It is best used to rack up damage on opponents and then KO the opponent after the summon.

Inside the castle was all dark. It was as if a thin veil had spread around the castle; cloaking everything in sight and choking it. To Zelda, Princess of Hyrule, it was as if the light was dying. She paced back and forth the throne room in the unsettling darkness. Suddenly, a black blur appeared and Zelda gasped. The black blur or a shadow more like it whisked away the Princess. In the darkening night, she could spot a floating mechanical isle; filled with a unholy light and belching forth dark shadows.

Zelda from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Name: Zelda

Universe: Legend of Zelda

Debut: Legend of Zelda (1986)

Element Alignment: Light

Affinity: Good

Reasons for Fighting: Peace

Zelda is the Princess of Hyrule. She has appeared in nearly every Zelda game and holds the Triforce of Wisdom. She has always been connected with Link in some way or the other. While not exactly a capable fighter, she had shown herself capable of using magic, swords, and archery to defeat her opponents.

Changes from SSBB to SSB4

Personally, I main Zelda casually because I love playing as her. However, I feel she should remain the same save for a few changes to her physics. Faster falling speed, less floaty, and a improvements to her approach when fighting opponents. This can be changed to give priority to her dash attacks and longer reach for her magical attacks. One drastic change is the ability to slide while doing the Neutral B, Naryu’s Love. This significantly improves her approach game. As well, the whirling radius of the attack is 2% bigger. As well, Zelda can attack right out of Naryu’s Love faster. Zelda’s smashes all have larger hit boxes. Forward tilt has lesser ending lag. Zelda’s grab is much faster and her back throw does more damage and can KO. Up Tilt has a much higher reach. Zelda’ Neutral Aerial does 3% more damage. The sourspot on her aerial Forward, Back, and Down aerials have received a 2% damage increase. The explosion coming out of Zelda’s Farore’s Wind is 2% more damaging. Din’s Fire no longer puts Zelda in a helpless state when falling. As well, if the player pushes the control stick in a direction right before the explosion, Din’s Fire will suddenly jerk into that direction for an extended blast. Transforming into Shiek has lesser animations.

Descriptions

Light Arrow is Zelda’s Final Smash. It has the same properties as before.

Beginning Cinematic: Zelda waves a magical spell in front of her and the Light Bow appears. She grabs it and arms it with an Light Arrow.

Loftwing is Zelda`s Final Melee. Zelda summons her purple Loftwing and jumps on top of it. The player then can guide the Loftwing to dash and strike at opponents. Pressing A will cause the Loftwing to speed up and smash into opponents. Even the wind from the Loftwing`s wings can push opponents backwards! A normal attack does 20% damage, a A charged attack does 35% damage, and the wing force push does 5% damage. Zelda becomes extremely fast in her Loftwing mode and can dominate battles in the air. If hit in the air with an A attack, i is a meteor smash.

Beginning Cinematic: Zelda whistles and a Loftwing’s shriek can be heard in the distance. The Loftwing comes and swoops up to carry Zelda.

Power of the Goddess is Zelda`s Final Brawl. Zelda presses her hands together and they begin to glow with a golden color. She then swipes forward with one hand. A large sword made of light pierces the opponent. She then swings her other hand forward and a second sword of light pierces the opponent from the otherwise. She then swings both hands down and a large, ornate light sword crashes down and strikes the opponent. It then explodes in a million light particles. It does 68-70% Light damage.

Zelda`s Current Move set (taken from the SmashWikia)

Changes made in BOLD

Ground Attacks

Normal

Dash attack – Zelda extends her arms, palms out. Any enemy caught in her path is electrocuted and knocked upwards. Does 12% when close and less damage (about 9%) when at the tip of her hands.

Standard attack – Zelda extends one arm. A circular magical spark appears at the end of it, hitting up to three times. Disjointed with decent range. Does 2% per hit for a total of 6%.

Forward Tilt – Zelda steps forward and slashes one arm in front of her, with a trail of sparkles. The attack has moderate knockback. Depending on how the opponent is hit, they may end up slightly behind Zelda. This can be directed slightly up or down. Does 11%-13%.

Up Tilt – Zelda waves her hand above her head in an arc, starting in front of her to behind her, trailing sparkles like her forward tilt. This move has very high vertical knockback, and makes an excellent finisher. Although it is less reliable and slower than her up smash and requires set ups, her u-tilt is stronger than her u-smash is knockback wise. Does 11%. It has a higher reach than before.

Down Tilt – Zelda crouches and stabs one foot forward. This attack can meteor smash an airborne opponent. It also usually trips people on the ground, and easily combos with Zelda’s quick down smash. This move can also combo into itself. Does 7%-8%. This is one of the very few reliable ways for Zelda to land a grab.

Smash

Forward Smash – Zelda extends her hands with a thrust, and a burst of sparkles appears. If an enemy is hit by this, it expands its animation, shocking them multiple times and then launching them away with high knockback. Quick, with large range. Is very easy to SDI out of. Does 17% (23% when fully charged).

Up Smash – Zelda waves her hand back and forth over her head once quickly, trailing a stream of light. If an enemy is caught in this, the animation expands in to more back and forth, hitting and shocking multiple times before launching them away. At low percentages, especially against heavy characters, this can combo several times with itself, and is also easily followed by an up tilt. Fast, with large range. Does 15% (20% when fully charged).

Down Smash – Zelda kicks along the ground in front of her and then behind her, appearing to sweep forward and back with her dress. This smash comes out very quickly (the fastest down smash in Brawl start-up lag wise, tied with R.O.B.‘s), and powerfully knocks almost entirely horizontally. Semi-spike with decent range. Zelda is able to hit a bomb in front of her with this move without taking any damage, due to the disjointed hitbox. Does 12-16% damage in front, 10-14% at back. If the first hit takes you into the second one, it will deal 22-30%.

Other

Ledge attack- Zelda climbs up and swings her legs in a circular motion, while pulling her self up. Does 6%.

100% ledge attack- Zelda raises up slowly, and after gaining some strength, smacks the enemy with the back of her hand. Does 10%.

Floor attack- Zelda swings her legs around, hitting enemies on both sides of herself. Does 6%.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Aerial – Zelda spins in place, slowly trailing sparkles from her hands. This hits 5 times and sucks people in, dealing a decent amount of damage. The first few hits of this move cannot be DI’d or SDI’s whatsoever. Does 16% if all hits connect.

Forward Aerial – Known as the Lightning Kick, Zelda kicks to one side, with a spark at her foot. In the first few frames, if you hit directly with the foot, this attack pauses the opponent in place for a second dramatically, before dealing heavy lightning damage and launching them away with huge knockback. If any other part of this attack hits, or if it hits after the first few frames, it deals only a small amount of damage, with very little knockback. Larger foes tend to be more vulnerable to falling victim to a sweet-spotted hit. Does 20% when sweet-spotted, does 6% when sourspotted.

Back Aerial – Identical to Zelda’s forward Aerial, except the opposite direction and faster. Slightly higher knock back than the forward lightning kick. Does 20% when sweet spotted, does 6% when sourspotted.

Down Aerial – Zelda sticks one foot out beneath her. Like her Forward and Back aerials, if this hits within the first frame with the foot, it causes a dramatic pause in the opponent’s movement, then deals high damage and meteor smashes the opponent straight downwards very fast. If it hits with any other part or outside this window, it does a very small amount of damage and still knocks downwards, but much slower. If it hits a non-airborne opponent, the sweet spot cannot hit, and it is always the weak hit. The sweet spot itself is slightly smaller than the weak hit and does not actually cover the tip of her foot. Does 16% when sweet-spotted, otherwise 7%.

Up Aerial – Zelda holds one hand up, and a small trail of sparkles extends to a point above her where it shortly explodes and launching the enemy upward. This explosion has a smaller hitbox than “Melee Zelda’s” uair, but it is significantly faster and stronger, with great vertical knockback. This is the most powerful uair in the game, knockback wise. Does 15%.

Grabs and Throws

Note:Zelda’s grab has been sped up.

Pummel: Discharges magic into them. A very slow pummel. Does 3%.

Forward Throw: Telekinetically twirls opponent and throws them forward. Does 12%.

Back Throw: Telekinetically twirls opponent behind herself and tosses them. Does 13%. Strongest knockback of all her throws, mediocre KO potential.

Up Throw: Telekinetically twirls opponent above her head, then releases them upward. Does 11%.

Down Throw: Throws opponent on ground and shocks them repeatedly with magical bursts. The enemy will end up behind Zelda though it is easily DIed away preventing any follow-ups though it has very good follow-ups if the opponent doesn’t. Does 10%.

Taunts

Side: Claps her hands. When she does, a ball of fire appears between her hands, a remodel of one of her victory poses from SSBM.

Down: Leans forward and waves, as if to be waving “good bye”.

My Thoughts

I didn`t want to write Zelda on a biased stand point since I like her and enjoy playing as her. However, I feel that while she was fairly buffed up from Melee, she still suffered as much higher opponents. That is why I suggested improving her apprach game, increasing her speed, and her fless floaty. I appreciate your thoughts and opinions regarding the Princess of Hyrule.

I didn`t include her in her Twilight Princess model because Skyward sword is the most recent addition to the Legend of Zelda series. I feel that not inlcuding her in this form, while her TP model is awesome, would do a great injustice to Skyward Sword hence why iadded her model instead of TP Zelda.

Universe: Metroid

Debut: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Size: Large

Obstacle Level: 4 (out of 5)

Type: Stationary Platform, moving

Availability: Starter

Skytown, Elysia is one of the main locations of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and is the hangout of the Space Pirates. The planet Elysia was bombarded by Phazon infused meteors causing the inhabitants to go rogue. Skytown itself is a floating city inhabited by Space Pirates, Drones, and Steamlords. The city is connected together by a SkyTram.

Appearance, Hazrads, and Movements

Skytown, Elysia looks a lot like it`s Metroid Prime 3 version. The stage is made up of a circular docking platform that overlooks a great expanse of gas clouds that swirl around violently. Soon after, a metallic cage goes up, around the main platform and closes off the players. In here, none of the players can be KO`d so it is a great place to rack up damage against opponents.

The SkyTram will shoot up between two platforms and go back down thus making a gap in the middle. The two platforms are big enough to allow 3 players to stand comfortably. Occasionally, the AirTram will shoot up and divides the patforms from each other. Anyone who is hit by ascending AirTram is almost a instant OHKO. A warning will sound alerting players to the approaching SkyTram.

After two minutes, the SkyTram will appear again and a warning will issue to get into the SkyTram before it takes off. Staying still while it takes off is a OHKO. Clouds and platforms fly by as the SkyTram speeds through the atmosphere. During this time, the camera pans out to show the entirety of Skytown. The Skytram will then go upwards and then go up into the middle of a wide circular platform with three hanging platforms suspending over the main platform. Every time someone jumps non the platform it will sink a little since steam is keeping it up from the ground but it will never fall down to the ground.

It is here that players come face to face with a Steamlord. It will hover above the stage just slightly while dealing damage to players indiscriminately. It will wave its arm which will shoot out steam which can push players off the platforms into the sky or shoot them with electricity. hitting it at least 5 times will make it retreat. It will return at least once.

After 3 minutes, the SkyTram will reappear from the hole in the middle and carry the players back tot he first part int he docking bay and the entire process will repeat itself.

My Thoughts

I felt this stage help represent the Metroid Prime series in that it was a fairly big local in Prime 3. Out of all the other stages, I felt this one best represents the game.

I had envisioned it as a fast paced tour of Skytown via the Skytram while occasionally dropping of players at key points. I wanted to capture the beauty and sadness of Skytown.

Chances of Being in SSb4

30% – I feel pretty strongly that Skytown will be chosen as a Metroid Prime 3 representative. Reasons being in that it was a big location, newest game since Other M, and can be Samus’ home stage. I feel that if any Prime 3 location is deserving of being in SSB4, it’s this one.

Djinn artwork from Golden Sun A new gameplay feature in SSB4 is the use and collecting of Djnn. Diji

Djinn artwork from Golden Sun

A new gameplay feature in SSB4 is the use and collecting of Djnn. Dijinn are creatures found in the universe Golden Sun. Players can attach Djinn to characters to boost the characters attacks, spells, and to summon powerful beings into the battle. There are four types of Djinn that can be collected: Venus Djinn (earth), Mars Djinn (fire), Jupiter (wind), and Mercury (water). Adding the correct Djinn to the party’s element is crucial to success inthe game and can advance the parties strengths and powers.

This is very similar in SSB4. Djinn’s plays two crucial roles in battles during SSB4. Every once in a while, a Djinn will appear during the battle from a crate, capsule, barrel, or from thin air much like a Smash Ball. It will hop around, hide, run, and float around the stage; usually away from players. When you get near to a Djinn, press A to capture it and hold. Once captured, a Djinn will disappear and a icon of the Djinn will appear near the percentage area of the screen (much like the Dragoon parts).

Element Boosts

Once you capture a Djinn, a number of things can happen. For example, if you capture a Venus Djinn, your Earth type moves strengthen but only if your element alignment is Earth.

Here is a list of what element alignment’s fit with Djinn

Venus -> Earth, Dark

Mercury -> Water, Ice

Mars -> Fire, Light

Jupiter -> Wind, Lightning

Holding one Djinn will strengthen your element stat, thus boosting your elemental attacks, by 5%. In all, you can hold three Djinn, which appear as icons near your percentages. Much like a Final Smash or Dragoon parts, you can lose a Djinn if you are attacked too many times or are KO’d while you hold one. The Djinn Ko’s with you and will not re-appear on the stage. If you lose a Djinn, they will disappear after 14 seconds.

Summon Ability

The second thing you can do with a Djinn is perform a powerful summon with them but that involves collecting specific Djinn. For example:

- collecting one Venus Djinn allows you to summon Venus.

- collecting two Mars Djinn allows you to summon Kirin.

- collecting two Venus Djinn and one Jupiter Djinn allows you to summon Charon.

Summons will sometimes walk/fly around the stage or will do one attack and then they disappear. It depends wholly on the summon but that will be revealed which summon does what in a later update.

Djinn Mechanics

When you aquire a Djinn, the icon will quickly float to above your percentage area. It will then begin to glow for a few seconds. Acquiring a second or third Djinn will also cause the Djnn’s to glow momentarily. Tapping on the Djinn icon on the WiiU tablet will activate the Djinn and summon one of the powerful beings. Dragging the Djinn off it’s spot and into the middle of the tablet will cause the player to throw away/discard his Djinn. This action causes the Djinn to “die” and vanish from the stage.

It is impossible to use a Summon while under the effects of a Final Trio or Dragoon. This is because the physics engine cant accommodate for a Final Trio or Dragoon AND a Summon as well it would make that player way to overpowered since some of the stronger Summons can easily OHKO a opponent at very low percentages. As well, if you collect a Dragoon part, it will discard a Djinn and collecting a Djinn will discard a Dragoon part.

My Thoughts

I really wanted to see a summon ability in SSBB. I got it in the form of an Assist Trophy but it lacked, a Final Fantasy feel to it. So, after including Isaac from Golden Sun, I wanted to include a aspect of the game. I decided on the Djinn because it has two roles in GS: enhancing parties abilities and summons.

Thus, I felt this is what I wanted in terms of summoning. I wanted it to have a unique set of mechanics so that’s why I decided on various power levels of summons and how each summon requires a certain number and type of Djinn.

Chances of Being in SSB4

2% if no Isaac, 80% if Isaac – The Djinn and Summons will only appear in SSB4 if Isaac appears in the game OR there is a Golden Sun representation (a stage for example). Animal Crossing, Nintendo DS, and Electroplankton showed us that a Universe doesn’t always need a character rep for it to contribute to SSB. Djinn and Summons could possibly be Golden Sun’s rep but with so many potential Golden Sun candidates for SSB4 roster and Isaacs AT inclusion in SSBB, it would be hard to imagine Djinn and Summons being Golden Sun’s only representative.

So in short, Djinn and Summons will likely appear in some form if Isaac or Golden Sun is represented but if not, there chances are very unlikely.

Something was wrong. The air smelled weird; like a strange burning smell. A great smoke billowed out and covered the entire sky. The ground began to shake and a heard of Yoshi can be seen; coming up over the plains. In the front was the green dinosaur himself, Yoshi, the leader of all the Yoshis. The herd is in great distress because of the poisonous smoke but Yoshi didn’t fear it. He broke from the main column and ran towards the great billowing cloud which began to take the form of a mechanical floating island.

Name: Yoshi

Universe: Yoshi

Debut: Super Mario World (1990)

Element Alignment: Wind

Affinity: Good

Reason for Fighting: To Help

Yoshi is the hero and namesake of the Yoshi series. He has always been a riding companion for Mario; even when he was just a child. However, he has his own abilities such as throwing eggs, swallowing enemies, pounding the ground, and limited flying ability. Yoshi is a fairly fast character but excels mostly in the air. Many of his aerial attacks pack the most punch in the air.

Changes from Brawl to SSB4

Yoshi receives a buff in all his smash attacks with his Up and Down Smash receiving higher knock back. Yoshi’s Egg Roll has 10% Heavy Armor and does not put Yoshi in a helpless state when falling. Yoshi’s Down Aerial can drain shield power and quickly break them. All of Yoshi’s tilts and Dash attack do more knock back. Yoshi’s pummel does 1% more damage. His Egg Lay ability does 2% more damage (10%). Additionally, Yoshi’s first jump is a bit higher than before.

Yoshi’s B Move Set

B – Egg Lay

Side B – Egg Roll

Up B – Egg Throw

Down B – Yoshi Bomb

The Final Trio

Final Smash – Yoshi Stampede

Final Melee – Super Dragon

Final Brawl – Mega Egg

Descriptions

Yoshi Stampede is Yoshi`s new Final Smash. Yoshi whistles into the air and a vast stampede of Yoshi`s sharge into the stage. The attack can hit a foe for 10% damage per hit with relatively low knock-back to allow for juggling of opponents. However, once a opponent reaches past 80% damage, it has a very high knock back. It lasts for 10 seconds.

Beginning Cinematic: Yoshi whistles and the ground begins to trample. Yoshi waves his arm up and a stampede of Yoshi’s can be seen in the distance.

Super Drago is Yoshi’s new Final Melee. It has the same properties as before.

Beginning Cinematic: Yoshi begins to glow with green energy and then jumps high into the air. Wings sprout out from Yoshi and he wings towards the screen.

Mega Egg is Yoshi`s new Final Brawl. Yoshi starts to stomp his feet on the ground, turns around and hits with his tail, and than yells “Yoshi”. Yoshi summons a huge egg which teeters precariously over the opponent. Yoshi then jumps and knocks the egg over with a kick. The egg crashes and squashes the opponent under it. It does 68% damage overall.

Attributes: 5% physical attack increase, 8% throw damage increase, 5% attack damage resistance increase, 2% projectile damage increase, 6% speed decrease, 10% jump decrease, and 6% shield decrease.

Yoshi`s Current Move Set (taken from the SmashWiki)

Changes are in BOLD

Ground Moves

Normal

Neutral Attack- Left kick, then right kick. Deals 9% if both hit. Quick with decent priority makes it a solid “panic” move. The second kick can even interrupt projectile attacks.

Dash Attack- Headrush- Running headbutt that causes 9% damage. Quick and powerful, with horizontal knockback useful at the edge, where Yoshi can start edge guarding.

Forward Tilt-Tail Flick- Flicks out his tail. Causes 9% damage. Insanely fast. Has incredibly high priority (it can cancel the hammer of King Dedede’s side smash, projectile moves like Snake’s rockets and Samus’s powerballs, bats, most smashes and tilts, virtually all aerial moves, Wolf’s side smash, etc.). Can be used to juggle many characters across the stage at certain percentages.

Down Tilt- Shin Whip- Low tail whip. The attack does more damage the closer the opponent is to Yoshi. Hitting with the larger section of Yoshi’s tail causes 10% damage and hitting with the tip causes 5% damage. Has the same priority as Yoshi’s side tilt. It’s forward range is actually greater than Yoshi’s down smash.

Up Tilt- Stiff Tail- Tail uppercut. Deals 11% damage. Has the same priority as his side tilt.

Smash

Forward Smash-Headsmash- Headbutt that causes 16% damage uncharged and 22% damage fully charged. Can form a good combo when following Yoshi’s bair (if Yoshi’s bair tips them). Good horizontal knockback.

Down Smash-Happy Yoshi- Double tail whip (hits on both sides). Causes 14% damage uncharged and 19% fully charged. Hitting an opponent behind Yoshi causes 1% less damage. Very quick, but surprisingly low knockback, for a smash attack. Assuming the move is fresh and uncharged, it cannot KO until at least 150%. Mostly used to rack up damage, set up combos or clear some space. Useful against opponents recovering from a ledge.

Up Smash-Headswing- Upward headbutt. Deals 16% uncharged and 22% fully charged. The attack can hit behind Yoshi and cause the same amount of damage. Good vertical knockback.

Other attacks

Ledge attack- Gets up and whips his tail. Low range. 6% damage.

100% Ledge attack- Slowly gets up and slams his head forward with short range. The third most damaging ledge attack in the game, right behind Ganondorf when sweetspooted on foot, and Lucario at max damage. It does 12% damage.

Floor attack- Whips his tail while spinning. 6% damage.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Aerial- Air Kick- Sex kick. Yoshi’s feet grow large while kicking. Causes 12% damage. Can be performed immediately after the ending of Flutter Kick to try and break through shields. Good Knockback if it connects with an opponent as it’s executed. Also has knockback protection for the majority of the kick.

Forward Aerial- Air Head- Headbutt with the capability to Meteor Smash with average power. Deals 15-16% damage. Where and when it hits decides where the opponent goes. Has a few super armor frames at the end (when Yoshi is flipping around).

Back Aerial- Tail Wags- Quadruple tail whip. Causes a maximum of 14% damage. Low priority.

Down Aerial-Flutter Kick- Performs trademark Flutter kick. Most damaging aerial attack. Can potentially Meteor Smash after the last kick. Causes a maximum of 33% damage. Great for wearing down shields, nairs or footstool set-ups.

Up Aerial- Tail Flip- Does a flip and hits hard upward with his tail, good range, great knockback and low starting lag too. Yoshi’s best kill move, easy to set up with eggs and double jump. Has a few super armor frames at the end (when Yoshi is flipping around). Top priority.

Grabs and Throws

Grab – Along Snake, he is the only character in the game able to force jump breaks in the game and also the only character in the game completely unable to ground release a grabbed character.

Standing grab – 17 frame grab and not very long range makes it one of the worst standing grabs.

Dash grab – Faster start-up than his standing grab but a lot of ending lag. Yoshi tends to slide a considerable amount if he grabs someone during the first few frames of the grab.

Pivot grab – Much longer range than his standing grab range and 1 frame faster than his dash grab. It has very little lag for an extended grab, starting and ending, and is considered to be the best Pivot grab in the game.

Pummel-Chew- Chews on the opponent. B3% damage. When Grab Release Chain grabbing, it counters move decay (Stale Negation)

Forward Throw-Spit- Spits the opponent out. 7% damage.

Back Throw-Food Backup- Spits the opponent backward. 7% damage.

Up Throw-Upchuck- Spits the opponent upward. 5% damage.

Down Throw-Intense Barf- Jumps up and spits the opponent hard into the ground. 4% damage. Has good hitstun, combos well with Up Aerial for a KO.

Taunts

Up: Dances around in a circle and says “Yoshi!”.

Left Side: Spins around, chasing his tail, then looks at it.

Down: Waves to the screen, saying “Yoshi! Yoshi!” This is an update of the taunt he had in SSB and Melee.

Stage Entrance

Hops out of a Yoshi Egg.

My Thoughts

Yoshi has always seemed like a interesting and fun character since Super Smash Bros. I always would try to play as him but I could never quite get the gang of him since, well, he`s hard to play as and really difficult to learn. In addition, he never matches up well with other characters so, he seems like a character that no one uses save for dedicated players who main him. However, I propose a large buff to his attacks, his weight, and possibiliy a change to his double jump to make it les spredictable. maybe to allow Yoshi to change directions in mid-flight. Anyways, I personally, would like to see Yoshi recieve some changes and buffs in SSB4.

Debut: Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001)

Element: None

Type: Shooting

Rarity: Uncommon

Nothing has changed much from the SSBB version of this gun. Players can still run and jump while shooting the gun. The only change is players can now crouch or duck while shooting as well.

Ray Gun from Super Smash Bros.
Debut: Super Smash Bros. (1999)

Element: None

Type: Shooting

Rarity: Common

The Ray Gun functions much like is SSBB version. It holds up to 16 shots and can be fired while running, walking and jumping as well as crouching much like the Super Scope.

Starman from Super Smash Bros.
Debut: Super Mario Bros. (1985)

Element: Light

Type: Duration

Rarity: Rare

The Starman gives the player invincibility for 10 seconds and now, a player cannot be KO’d by attacks; no matter the type (for example assist trophy Isaac’s Move ability). If the player is a Light type, the effect lasts for an additional 3 seconds. It has no effect on Dark types though.

Home-Run Bat from Super Smash Bros.
Name: Homerun Bat

Universe: Super Smash Bros.

Debut: Super Smash Bros. (1999)

Element: None

Type: Weapon

Rarity: Rare

The Home-Run Bat is one of the most feared items in the Super Smash Bros. series. When hit normally, it only does 7-8% damage but when used with a Smash Attack, it can do OHKO at 30% damage and a very high knock back. This item has not changed much from Super Smash Bros. Brawl but it still a feared item.

Hammer from Super Smash Bros.
Universe: Donkey Kong

Debut: Donkey Kong (1981)

Element: None

Type: Duration

Rarity: Rare

The Hammer, alongside the Home-Run Bat, is one of the most feared and damaging items in the Super Smash Bros. Series. When picked up, the character goes into a hammer smashing animation and can strike opponents for very high damage. The Hammer does 22% damage with every hit, same as SSBB. However, the Hammer can malfunction and the hammer head can fly off from it. It can be picked up and thrown for 22% damage.

Cracker Launcher from Super Smash Bros.
Name: Cracker Launcher

Universe: Super Smash Bros.

Debut: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)

Element: Fire

Type: Shooting

Rarity: Uncommon

The Cracker Launcher remains the same as in SSBB but the players can now crouch while shooting. However, at times, the Cracker Launcher will malfunction causing the launcher itself to explode. This may happen if the player shoots two or three rounds. The launcher will jam, emit smoke, and then explode. The player can drop the launcher and escape before it explodes. It does 20% damage if it explodes to the player holding it.

Blast Box from Super Smash.
Blast Box

Universe: Super Smash Bros.

Debut: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)

Element: Fire

Type: Carrying/Explosive

Rarity: Uncommon

The Blast Box is a box full of explosives that can be ignited if hit with a projectile, a fire-type attack, physical attacks, or attacks with a weapon. It will almost always OHKO an opponent. Hitting it with a Water type attack or item may cause it to malfunction and not explode. It can then be thrown for 10% damage until it breaks.

Superspicy Curry from Super Smash Bros.
Name: Superspicy Curry

Universe: Kirby

Debut: Kirby’s Dream Land (1992)

Element: Fire

Type: Effect

Rarity: Uncommon

The Superspicy Curry remains the same from SSBB save for a few changes. The most notable that the attack can be quenched with hit with a Water type attack. However, one hit might not always quench it so two or three hits may. The other change is that players can now grab the opponent and flames will still damage the opponent. It works much like a pummel but instead is a fire attack. The last change that players who are Fire types deal out 3% more damage then usual. Water type characters have no affect on the Superspicy Curry.

Element: Lightning

Type: Weapon

Rarity: Common

The Beam Sword has made an appearance into all Super Smash Bros. game. It looks much like a Lightsaber from the Star Wars movies. Players can whack or slice at opponents with the beam sword. Besides that, it hasn’t changed much throughout the series. Click here to check the damage data.

Rarity: Uncommon

The Pitfall appears much like in SSBB where it traps opponents in the ground if either thrown or if thrown onto the ground and a player steps on it. If thrown in the air, the opponent is Meteor Smashed very powerfully and almost always a OHKO.

The Soccer Ball is a powerful item that can be launched by hitting it with an attack. The more powerful the attack, the harder the soccer ball hits. If hit with a exceptionally strong attack or a smash attack, the soccer ball ignites on fire as it speeds through the air. It can be deflected by counters or reflectors or a bumpers. If shielded, it can break them. It can’t be caught while on fire but if hit by a basic or weak attack, the opponent can grab it, place it on the ground, and given the opportunity to kick/hit it back.

Universe: Kirby

Debut: Kirby’s Return to Dreamland (2011)

Size: Medium

Obstacle Level: 1 (out of 5)

Type: Stationary

Availability: Starter

The Lor Starcutter is one of the main locations for Kirby’s Return to Dreamland. It crash lands on Pop Star resulting it’s captain, Magolor, to be stranded on Pop Star. According to Magolor, it is a ancient ship created by a unknown race and it can think for itself. Inside the ship, it has ability rooms, mini games, and challenge rooms that open when Kirby and friends collects enough Energy Spheres. When crash landing on Pop Star, it lost many of it’s gears and components so Magolor tasked Kirby to find them in order to repair the ship.

Appearance

The Lor Starcutter is an advanced spaceship with advanced alien technology. The stage is fought on the deck of the ship. Th efar right side of the ship is the bow of the ship. Players can jump on the curved decoration that stands at the front of the ship. The main stage is located on the deck but there are no hovering platforms or platforms that move. Players can jump onto the cabin of the shift as well as the masts. These are two platforms that players can jump up two. The third and last one is the crow’s next and is small enough for only one player. Beyond the cabin is the back of the ship on the far left side. The stage continues behind the cabin at the same level as in front of it but rises slightly near the wings. Players are hidden by the giant wings in the back. The background loops between flying through the stratosphere of Pop Star and then enters a Black wormhole. During this time, it is a mass vortex of purple and black but the ship is highlighted by a seemingly inner light. When the vortex vanishes, the ship finds itself in Helcandra. In the distance, Landia can be seen flying through the sky.

Obstacles and Movements

There are little to no obstacles or hazards in Lor Starcutter save for the changing of the background. This stage is meant for a straight forward fighting style.

My Thoughts

I haven’t played a Kirby game in a while but I felt this stage helps represent the Kirby series of today. It is a futuristic stage and one of the main locations of the newest game. I feel this stage should be the main representation of the Kirby series. While not exactly as iconic as some of the other stages, it helps represent the future of Kirby.

Chances of Being in SSB4

40% – I put this stage fairly high because not only am I 100% that a Kirby’s Return to Dreamland stage will be represented in SSB4, that this stage has a fairly good shot at being in it. It’s only competition is a stage from Kirby’s Epic Yarn but who is to say that the Kirby series can’t have two stages?

The forest was in chaos. Trees were being uprooted and even thecwarfgdf was terrified. The forest itself seemed angry and lashed at a invisible enemy. The brightly colored creatures, the Pikmin, were hanging to whatever was in sight. They wre grabbing onto the nearest thing….errr person. Captain Olimar, himself, was having a hard time holding onto the ground. The trees roots were ripping up the ground, branches lashed like whips in the air, and the windows like knives. Fortunately, Captain Olimar had just repaired his spaceship. He loaded him and all his Pikmin. He took off in the spaceship to the sky to escape the rampaging forest. As he broke through the tree line, he spotted a floating mechanical isle over the forest; a strange light emitting from it. Captain Olimar nodded to his Pikmin and went after the floating mechanical island.

Universe: Pikmin

Debut: Pikmin (2001)

Element Alignment: Earth

Affinity: Good

Reason for Fighting: Home

Pikim and Olimar is a unique character from the Pikmin series. He crash landed on a Distant Planet which had a high level of oxygen which is fatal to his species. He enlists the aid of Pikmin to salvage his space ship and to return home.

Changes from SSBB to SSB4

Olimar returns with a few nerfs. His Purple Pikmin . Olimars elemental Pikmin attacks become much stronger and faster dpeneding on the opposing elemental alignment of the character. As well, he throw animation is a bit faster, he has added weight if he has more Pikmin, his throws are a bit more damaging, and his Pikmin throw move for half a second, suspends him in mid air.

Final Smash: End of Day

Final Melee: Pikmin March

Final Brawl: Pikmin Cyclone

Descriptions

End of Day is Pikmin and Olimars Final Smash. It has the same properties as before.

Beginning Cinematic: Olimar jumps up and down as the spaceship appears from the ground. He grabs the Pikmin and jumps on board.

Pikmin March is Pikmin and Olimar’s Final Melee. Olimar whistles and a huge crowd of Pikmin of random types appear. The Pikmin will follow Olimar no matter where he goes. The strategy is to run into opponents. This will cause the Pikmin to run into the opponents and cause damage. The Red Pikmin does 5% damage, the Blue Pikmin does 5% damage, the Yellow Pikmin does 4% damage, the White Pikmin does 3% damage, and the Purple Pikmin does 7% damage for each hit. Pikmin March lasts for 10 seconds before it vanishes. The Pikmin appear randomly so it’s almost impossible to calculate how much damage is actually does. However, the red and blue appear the most while the yellow and white are less and the purple even less.

Beginning Cinematic: Olimar whistles and four Pikmin pop up from the ground. Then 10 more, and then ten more. Pretty soon the entire ground is covered in random Pikmin. He then stands up and points forward and they jump up.

Olimar Smash is Pikmin and Olimar’s Final Brawl. Olimar calls his Pikmin and they spring up from the ground. They then start crowding the opponent and forma whirlpool of Pikmin. It raises up from the ground like a tornado and tosses the opponent into the sky. It does high vertical knock back and deals 65-68% damage.

Attributes: Olimar and Pikmin’s weight decreases by 2%, speed increases by 3%, throwing distance increases by 5%, projectile attack power decreases by 2%, shield decreases by 2%, and some attacks have longer animation frames

Pikmin and Olimar’s Move Set (taken from the SmashWikia)

Olimar-Only Attacks

Normal

Neutral attack (jab) – Olimar headbutts twice, but hits three times. The antenna on his head deals slight damage, but not knockback. 15% damage (the last 10% is on the final hit, which connects with opponents in front of, above and behind Olimar, in that order).

Dash attack – Olimar does sort of a tripping cartwheel. 11% damage. Primarily vertical knockback.

Strong Side (stilt) – Olimar kicks both legs forward, falling to the ground. 6% damage and decent knockback at higher percentages.

Strong Up (u-tilt) – Olimar jumps a little and spins in place, hitting multiple times. The last hit has significant knockback. Similar to his neutral aerial. 11% damage. Higher priority than his up smash. Has super-armor frames at the beginning.

Strong Down (d-tilt) – Olimar does a headbutt along the ground and gains slight distance. 8% damage. Minimal knockback, combos well into up-tilt/smash early on, and is an excellent setup move at higher percentages. Helmet antenna will do 2% damage and knockback if it connects by itself.

Aerial

Neutral Aerial (nair) – Olimar spins in place, hitting multiple times. The last hit has significant knockback. 12% damage. Excellent in certain short-hop combos.

Pikmin Attacks

All of the Following moves use the next Pikmin in line, and knockback and damage depend on the Pikmin’s color. After use, the Pikmin goes to the back of the line. (This is assuming it survived; during the up and side smashes, the attacking Pikmin is vulnerable to attack, just as if Olimar had thrown it using his side special.) Grabs work the same way. Generally, Olimar’s aerial moves have higher priority if used earlier (Particularly his up aerial, which interrupts virtually everything if used early enough).

Forward Smash – throws a Pikmin in front of him. It deals damage and knockback rather than latching on. A weak hit will occur if the Pikmin connects as it falls, making this move good for edge-guarding – but the Pikmin will die if thrown off the edge unless quickly called to Olimar’s side via Pikmin order. Red Pikmin: 15% uncharged, 21% fully charged. Blue Pikmin: 15% uncharged, 21% fully charged. Yellow Pikmin: 13% uncharged, 18% fully charged. White Pikmin: 9% uncharged, 12% fully charged. Purple Pikmin: 18% uncharged, 25% fully charged.

Up Smash – Tosses a Pikmin a short distance into the air. It is Olimar’s fastest smash, and it has surprising forward range. Red Pikmin: 15% uncharged, 21% fully charged. Blue Pikmin: 15% uncharged, 21% fully charged. Yellow Pikmin: 14% uncharged, 19% fully charged. White Pikmin: 9% uncharged, 12% fully charged. Purple Pikmin: 16% uncharged, 22% fully charged.

Down Smash – Throws out Pikmin a short distance to either side (uses the next two in order). Has no vertical knockback, making it useful against heavyweights and/or characters with short horizontal recovery (i.e. Ganondorf or ). Marth). Red Pikmin: 13% uncharged, 18% fully charged. Blue Pikmin: 12% uncharged, 16% fully charged. Yellow Pikmin: 11% uncharged, 15% fully charged. White Pikmin: 6% uncharged, 8% fully charged. Purple Pikmin: 15% uncharged, 21% fully charged.

Forward Aerial – Smacks a medium-short range with a Pikmin. Swings in an arc. At the end of the move, the Pikmin will be slightly behind Olimar, dealing a powerful blow to anything there. Red Pikmin: 15%, Blue: 13%, Yellow: 12%, White: 5%, Purple: 14%.

Back Aerial – Similar to the forward aerial, only behind Olimar and more of a horizontal arc. Will deal a powerful blow to enemies close in front of Olimar in the first few frames. Red: 13%, Blue: 13%, Yellow: 12%, White: 5%, Purple: 13%.

Up Aerial – Thrusts a Pikmin above his head (multi-hit, with the last hit having significant knockback). Ideal KO move when used with a red Pikmin. Red: 25%, Blue: 22%, Yellow: 16%, White: 9%, Purple: 22%.

Down Aerial – Thrusts a Pikmin under himself. Short-ranged. The first few frames can spike, the strongest spike belonging to the Red Pikmin and the weakest belonging to the White Pikmin. The sweet spot for spiking is diagonally below the Captain. Can spike at low percents depending on weight of victim and recovery trajectory/length. Red: 16%, Blue: 14%, Yellow: 12%, White: 8%, Purple: 14%.

Grabs & Throws

Olimar himself does no grabbing or throwing; instead, he has the next Pikmin in order dash forward and do the grabbing and throwing for him. (This is an extended grab.) All Pikmin (except the Purple ones) have decent grabbing range, with the White, Blue and Red Pikmin having the longest grab range in the game.

Pummel – Pikmin attacks with headbutt. The Pikmin deal their respective damage per hit: 2% for Red, 2% for Blue, 2% for Yellow, 4-6% for White, and 2% for Purple.

Forward Throw – Pikmin leaps into the air, latches onto the opponent, and then pushes itself off. With Blue Pikmin, it has very high damage and knockback for a throw. Red: 6%, Blue: 13%, Yellow: 7%, White: 6%, Purple: 7%.

Back Throw – Pikmin latches onto opponent and jumps backwards while slamming them into the ground. One of the strongest back throws in the game when performed by a blue Pikmin. Red: 7%, Blue: 14%, Yellow: 9%, White: 7%, Purple: 9%.

Up Throw – Pikmin leaps into the air (while holding opponent), turns the opponent upside-down, then slams them into the ground. With the Purple Pikmin, it is by far the strongest up throw in the game, being able to even star KO under 125%. It is overall the second strongest throw in the game (only Ness’s back throw is stronger). Red: 9%, Blue: 12%, Yellow: 11%, White: 6%, Purple: 11%. Unlike Kirby’s up throw, this cannot be used to kill both the opponent and the thrower (in this case, the Pikmin); if used next to the very edge, the Pikmin will seem to back up in the air slightly before coming down.

Down Throw – Pikmin slams opponent on ground, then leaps quite high to land on the victim. Can be used to chaingrab fastfallers and heavyweights, like King Dedede. Red: 9%, Blue: 12%, Yellow: 8%, White: 6%, Purple: 8%.

Taunts

Up: Jumps joyfully as if he had gained a new part for the Dolphin. Similar to the Ice Climbers’ up taunt.
Side: Lays down on the ground as if he were asleep, then rolls over and gets up. Similar to Pikachu’s down taunt.
Down: Plants feet and spins his hips twice.

Stage Entrance

Arrives in his spaceship, disembarks, and the spaceship flies off.

My Thoughts

I have always enjoyed playing as Pikmin and Olimar but I never could master or understand how he’s played so I am not a Pikmin and Olimar expert in anyway. I proposed a few nerfs to balance him out but added a few buffs in terms of throwing and elemental attack damage. If you have bay ideas, I’d greatly appreciate them!

The Galactic Usurper Chapter 1 Mario was rushing forward through the burning toadstools and forests

The Galactic Usurper Chapter 1

Mario was rushing forward through the burning toadstools and forests that was the Mushroom Kingdom. The entire forest was on fire and was quickly spreading. The cries from Peach could be far off ahead but the cries for help were swallowed up by the storm. Up ahead, the faint outline of one of Bowser’s airships could be seem during the brief flashes of light. Mario chased after them, fire, rain, and lightning lashing against his face.

Maio entered a clearing and saw the airship that held his, love Princess Peach and moreover, his long-time rival Bowser. Lighting flashes like fire against the sky and Mario could see the cursed airship in the sky. But he saw something else, far more sinister. Floating above Bowser’s Airship was a massive floating island. It hummed and groaned as if the entire island was alive. Gears rotated next to it’s walls and steam poured out from unseen exhaust pipes. It looked as if it was one giant mechanical island. Mario paused in fear and looked up at the floating monstrosity.

He had barely enough time to react when a strange dark blue-green light appeared around the island. In a instant, it flashed and a bright blue-green flash struck the Airship and drove it down to the ground. The Airships hull was on fire and was burning even before the Airship hit the ground. The Airship sank deep into the earth and was torn apart in half. Mario attempted to run towards the Airship but before he could make it, the engines caught of fire and released a massive explosion that ripped through the dark stormy night and engulfed the entire area in ash, fire, and deep red light.

Mario got to his feet and made to run into the burning inferno when he saw a green figure jump out of the burning carcass of a ship and jump high into the air. He side stepped out of the way just in time and came face to face with his arch nemesis Bowser. The two glowered at each other as the ship burning a magnificent red. Mario was the first to turn his attention to what was in Bowser’s arms: a unconscious but unharmed Princess Peach, He touched her face and she stirred gently but she didn’t wake up.

Mario looked up his arch-nemesis and made a motion to put her down but Bowser shook his head and pointed to the floating island that hovered above the burning wreck. Mario looked at the floating island, then to Bowser, and then to Princess Peach. Bowser made a deep guttural sigh and held out his hand to Mario. Mario looked at the out-stretched hand doubtfully. However, behind him he could hear the slow churning of the living island behind him. In haste, he grabbed Bowser’s hand and shook it. Bowser heaved up Princess Peach on one shoulder and made off to run but, to his surprise, Mario was not with him. Bowser let out a guttural growl and Mario looked back and shook his head. He stood face to face with the mechanical island which began glowing with a blue-green light.

First Boss Battle

Boss: The Floating Mechanical Island

HP: 9999999

Time: Two minutes

Outcome: Mario loses the match since the island is slightly impervious to damage.

Mario fights alone against the floating mechanical island. He hovers high enough from the ground that Mario must use his Aerial moves and Super Moves to fight against it. Even so, it is next to impossible to defeat the island since it is nearly impervious to any damage. It has a high defense stat and a large amount of HP. No one, at this time, can beat the island. After 15 hits from Mario or after 40 seconds, the island will release a shock wave of blue-green energy that will knock back Mario but won’t KO him. Continue hacking away at him. Another 15 hits or 40 seconds will cause the island to start gathering energy. It will release a powerful energy beam that will OHKO Mario in one hit (this does not take away from your overall stock).

The fight ends and the island takes aim at Mario but stops at begins to target Bowser and Princess Peach. The unseen cannon from the island fires but Mario jumps into the way. He attempts to swat the blast away with his cape but he is overpowered and is sent flying ovber the mountains a great smoke. Bowser looks back to where Mario was sent flying and takes the chance while the cannon recharges and runs off to where Mario was seen flying off.

However, before he leaves, he presses a red button on a remote control. Inside the main control room of the Airship, a “Self-Destruct” timer begins. Bowser escapes just in time for the Airship to explode into a thousand pieces and engulfing the floating island in the blast. The blast rocks the entire area and the fire engulfs everything…even Bowser until he leaps down a ravine and escaping the fire.

Bowser lands on his feet and begins running but he hears a strange sound: the stamping of feet. He begins running with Princess Peach in his arms to where Mario fell when, out of the corner of his eye, he sees a creature running through the trees. Before he could react, a shaggy brown ape lands in front of him and roars while thumping his chest. Donkey Kong looks at Bowser and the princess in his arms and begins hooting and thumping his chest.

Bowser points to where smoke and fire were burning over the mountains. Donkey Kong looked at it and back to Bowser and then to the sleeping princess. Bowser made a motion of a airship crashing, exploding, and a floating piece of rock. Donkey Kong began hooting and screaming at the interpretation of the floating island. He then recounts, visually, what happened just before.

He had woken up to a new day and went out of his tree house to see the entire jungle gone. It was nothing but a barren desert; devoid of a trees, animals, or bananas. Donkey Kong ran out to see what was wrong and found a trail of bananas leading from his horde underneath his tree house. It led to a large expanse of dirt and vanished. Donkey Kong looked and peered around any stone to see where the bananas had went to. But he couldn’t find anything. Until it turned to night and the sun started to go down around the barren hills. As light faded, a faint trail of blue-green light appeared and went deep into the clouds above. Donkey Kong scratched his head and pounded his chest at the brooding clouds. He whistled a cute green and orange parrot flew down and landed on his shoulder. Donkey Kong patted his head and grabbed onto his scrawny but strong legs and began to lift him up from the ground. Donkey Kong entered into the clouds, following the trail of blue-green light and suddenly, appeared in the mushroom forest in Mushroom Kingdom.

Donkey Kong motioned that his bananas were all gone. Bowser flipped away his hand and began to walk off when Donkey Kong grabbed his shoulder. Bowser growled and made to attack but, before they could fight, a weird little creature popped out of the underbrush. It looked like a small human but with a big head and fairy sharp teeth but it wasn’t ugly. It was kind of cute in a homely way. Doneky Kong made to reach out for it when it snapped at his fingers. Donkey Kong punted the little creature into the forest behind and out of it, came a horde of them; laughing and screaming as they came.

Donkey Kong pounded away followed by Bowser holding Princess Peach. Donkey Kong thundered down a path in the Mushroom Forest all the while the little creatures were attacking and jumping at their backs; snapping and gnashing their teeth.

Name: Gnasimp

Universe: Super Smash Bros.

Element Alignment: Dark

Affinity: Bad

These creatures are the main foot soldiers of a dark power that has been amassing. They are small creatures, usually toddler or small child in comparison, with sharp claws and sharp teeth. They slash and bite at foes and if that does not do it, they can summon other evil creatures. They have some organic material inside of them but they are almost all mechanical yet, they have personalities and can communicate using a strange alien language. No one is sure where they came from but one thing can be agreed about them, they are ferocious and deadly.

The Gnasimp’s chased Bowser and Donkey Kong through the giant mushroom-like trees; clawing and biting at them. Bowser and Donkey Kong made to attack back several times but the Gnasimp’s largely outnumbered the duo. However, suddenly, the Gnasimp’s disappeared altogether. No sight, sound, or smell remained. Donkey Kong and Bowser breathed a sigh of relief when the ground began to shake from underneath them. The mushroom-like trees began to fall down all around them and the earth began to buckle underneath them,

From the ground four mechanical claw-like legs jutted out. Much like the Gnasimps’ they had a organic yet mechanical look to them. The claw-like legs began to search the ground and slashed into the air. Some how, it found where the duo was standing and started slashing at them. Bowser countered one of the mechanical claws and snapped in half with his big hand. The shriek rendered the ground and earth exploded everywhere. From the ground emerged a spider/octopus bio-organic monster with many more of the tentacle claw arms. They waved about the air and clawed after Donkey Kong and Bowser. Donkey Kong grabbed Bowser and with tremendous force threw him over the ridge and jumped after him. They ran through the forest while the spider/octopus creature chased after them; half int he ground and half above it.

Before long, Donkey Kong and Bowser hit a dead end near a cliff wall and went to face the evil creature. The creature dived underground and began tunneling around them. Donkey Kong and Bowser looked around underneath their feet as the ground shook and shuddered. The creature that exploded up from the ground and lands on the surface; it’s tentacle claws hooked itself into the ground. It reared back and shook it’s claw tentacles and roared a deep guttural and robotic roar and made charged at Bowser and Donkey Kong.

Name: Orbsidian Crawler

Universe: Super Smash Bros.

Element: Earth and Dark

Affinity: Bad

The Orbsidian Crawler is a ferocious bio-mechanical creature that can burrow under the ground and cause earthquakes. You can see it coming as it burrows deep int he earth by the ground jutting up from above him. It usually burrows and then strikes from underground; grabbing it’s prey in it’s deep jaws. It has a uncountable amount of clawed tentacles that can grab and throws opponents that a rag-doll. Underneath all it’s tentacles is four beady light green eyes and a large filled with long, sharp teeth. It’s lower jaws juts up like a under-bite. It is very fast, agile, and deadly so extreme caution should be taken.

Second Boss Battle

Boss: Orbsidian Crawler

HP: 400

Time: Unlimited

Goal: Defeat the Orbsidian Crawler

Both Donkey Kong and Bowser attacks the Orbsidian Crawler. You can either choose to play as Donkey Kong or Bowser and the computer chooses the other character. The Orbsidian Crawler is a camouflage type enemy so it can easily conceal itself in the earth and underbrush so be careful when fighting it; especially since the stage is set during the night. The Orbsidian Crawler will first attack by burrowing in the ground so watch as the ground cracks and splits as it burrows around the stage. Once dirt and soil begins to spray upwards, move out of the way or the Orbsidian Crawler will grab the fighter and drag him into the ground. This can do around 15% damage. It then spits the player out and resumes it’s pattern.

The time to attack it during this phase is to dodge the attack and attack it as it leaps out into the air. Knocking it will cause it to land on the ground and flail about. Continue striking it for additional damage. It will then retreat into the ground after three hits and resume this process. Three times will cause it to come from the ground.

It will then stand still and send out it’s tentacle claws to grab the opponent. If it’s grabs the opponent, it will throw them around for 20% damage so it is best to avoid these at all possible. It cannot move during this phase so it’s best to sneak around him while it hunts down the computer player and strike him from behind. The first attack will stun him and after three hits, he will resume attacking with it’s tentacles. After repeating this three times, the tentacles will hook onto the ground and it will grow massive arms and legs composed of it’s clawd tentacles. It appears like a massive wriggling beast.

It will then begin swinging it’s fists and will attempt to stomp on the player. Each hit does between 5-15% damage so bodge these or block them. Attacking it’s head three times will cause it to fall down to the ground. When it lands, start wailing on him so damage it more. Three times of doing this will cause the Orbsidian Crawler to bring out it’s Final Smash.

It will transform into a massive snake like creature that is composed of the clawed tentacles and will start ravaging the stage. It will chase after the opponent and attempt to trap him. Fortunately, it does only one type attack: a flying charge. It will fly into the opponent and bowl them over. A full-frontal successful attack does 8 hits with 5% damage for each hit totaling to 40% damage with each strike. However, it has a relatively low knock-back. When it charges, it is best to dodge out of the way, shield (though it’s best to let it charge after this), or jumping out of the way. One suggestion is to lead it into the air and then air dodge it horizontally so you don’t have to try to dodge through the entire length of it.

After 12 seconds, it’s Final Smash will end leaving it fairly vulnerable. Take this chance hit the Orbsidian Crawler with your strongest attacks to finish him off. He is severely weakened after the Final Smash so defeating him is extremely easy at this point. What matters is surviving it’s Final Smash

After the battle, the Orbsidian Crawler will flee down a ledge in a unholy roar. Bowser and Donkey Kong sighs with a breathe of relief and begins jumping up the side of the cliff with Princess Peach in toll.

In SSB, SSBM, and SSBB, players are able to switch the character’s colors . These are called palette swaps. Each character has a unique palette swap that may or may not resemble various outfits warn by characters throughout the Nintendo Universe. Well, in SSB4, players can finally customize how their characters look to an extent.

Thus, My Paint Studio is introduced. My Paint Studio is a new game mode that allows players to take playable characters such as Mario, Pit, Bowser, Isaac, etc into the studio and change their appearance. Players can change skin tones, hair color, eye color, clothes color, and many other things on the players. These painted characters are called Customized Palette Character; meaning their palette swap has been customized.

My Paint Studio

My Paint Studio is split into two different sections:

1) Body

2) Clothes

The Body Section allows the player to customize the following:

Hair Color – Adjust the tint of the hair

Hair Contrast – Adjust the brightness/darkness of the hair.

Skin Color – Adjust the tint of the skin.

Skin Contrast – Adjust the brightness/darkness of the skin.

Eye Color – Adjust the color of the eyes.

The Clothes Section is a bit different. The Clothes Section allows the player to pick on a specific piece of clothing whether it be a shirt, bracelet, crown, arm bands, overalls, or a hat and change the color/contrast of the piece of clothing. Simply select a piece of clothing on the 3-D model, select a color, and press “Confirm” to change the color of the piece of clothing. Weapons such as guns, swords, and hammers cannot change color though and remain the original color. Things that can changed is:

Clothes Color – Adjust the tint of the piece of clothing

Clothes Contrast – Adjust the brightness/darkness of the clothing

Players can choose from a pre-existing palette of colors that exists in both sections. There are twelve of these and contains the same basic colors. However, if players want to customize the colors even more, they can click on a small art palette in the corner which opens a full color wheel. Clicking on a color will cause it to appear in a side box next to the color wheel. Press “confirm” to add it to the piece of clothing or press “Add to my palette” to replace it with one of the pre-existing colors. This appears in both sections.

In addition, next to the art palette is a small icon of a “white body”. Selecting it will open a smaller box that has twelve different colored bodies: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, orange, brown, gray, black, and white. Selecting one of these body colors will cause your selected character to appear all in that selected color. In other words, it bypasses the customization process and adds a colored tint to your character. For example, pressing the red body in the Skin Section makes the character’s skin a red tint while pressing the “purple body” in the Clothes section will turn your character’s clothes a purple tint.

This allows players to fully customize their characters without totally altering the character itself. These can be carried via WiiU memory stick or added to a Online database that will be discovered further.

“My Paint Studio” Main Menu

The “My Paint Studio” icon is a white silhouette of a easel board. Clicking it will take you to the main “My Paint Studio”. The main menu has four different options:

Paint a Character

Save/Load a Character

View my Collection

Share a Character

The “Paint a Character” allows access to the painting section and allows you to chance/adjust the color scheme of a character. You can save your newly painted character there.

The “Save/Load a Character” allows you to save a newly painted character or edited painted character from before or load a previously painted character to edit it more. It also allows you to save it to your WIIU hard drive or a memory stick. You can also make a copy of it or rename the file here.

The “View my Collection” allows you to view your painted characters as a 3-D model, view them as a group, organize them, rename them, or delete them.

The “Share a Character” allows you to upload a character to a Online server where users can download your painted characters onto their WiiU and use them in both online and offline matches. Other users can rate a Customized Palette Character on the server and ranks them depending on amount of downloads, rating, and recent (new) Customized Palette Character’s

Odds and Ends

There might be some confusion if a player’s color scheme is the same as another player’s in Multiplayer or in Online. If two players have the same Customizable Color data, the first person who selected their outfit will be allowed to keep the colors. Others will see a message that will ask “Please change to a different color scheme. This color scheme is already in use.” Changing to a different character or a different color scheme will remove the message and allow the match to proceed.

My Thoughts

I have always wanted a game mode in SSB where you can customize your characters and change their appearance without subtracting from the over-all character. This is not a “Create-a-Character” mode at all but a “Palette Customization Mode”. I envisioned this as a way to alter a character’s color change depending on what you want while still being that character (Mario, Pikachu, Isaac, etc). That is why it more so alimited character customization without it being a total Create-a-Character mode.

Chances of Being in SSB4

10% – There is a possibility that a Game Mode that allows visual customization of character might happen but how limited it will be is totally unpredictable. However, Sakurai did mention he intends SSB4 to be more of a customizable experience and felt this is the epitome and the “poster child” for this customization that he was talking about. Personally, I think it would be awesome to have it in the game.

A broken space station floated by the orange spacecraft. The torn metal and steel floated by and bumped off the spacecraft. Whatever destroyed this space station was close by. The orange spacecraft began to shake and rattle together until the whole galaxy seemed as if it was tearing. The orange spacecraft flew by the steel wreckage as it drifted past. Out of no where, a wrecked spacecraft appeared and another, soon the entire area was full of wreckage; broken beyond repair. The orange spacecraft couldn’t dodge in time and hit one of the wreckage that strayed away. It started to spiral out but was soon stopped in mid-crash. Samus Aran, the pilot of the ship, looked out. In front of her, a vortex appeared. It swallowed all light and everything in it’s path. But from the vortex came a solitary floating mechanical isle. Wreckage floated out in front of it into the lonely space. Samus pushed forward her Gunship and sped off to meet the floating isle head on.

Universe: Metroid

Debut: Metroid (1986)

Element Alignment: Lightning

Affinity: Good

Reason for Fighting: Retribution

Samus is the powerful bounty hunter from the Metroid series. She wears her Power Suit which holds a number of different abilities such as firing powerful energy blasts, firing missiles, releasing bombs, long distance jumps, and air-tight containment allowing travel in space. She is on the constant search for Space Pirates and helps the Federation in fighting the Space Pirates wherever they are. She has a deep seeded hatred of Ridley, who destroyed who was responsible for the deaths of her parents. She was taken into by the Chozo and was bonded to a suit of armor called the Power Suit. She now brings the fight to the Space Pirates while revealing secrets about alien worlds and her own self.

Changes from SSBB to SSB4

All of Samus’ projectiles have received some sort of upgrade through damage or knock back. The Super Missile does more knock back and can KO while the Seeker Missile does 4% more damage. The Charged Shot does 5% more damage (not matter how long it’s charged) and more knock back. As well, Samus’ Bomb attack has a larger 2% blast radius.

Overall, Samus’ jump has been improved. Samus’ jab combo links properly on all characters. As well, her Forward Tilt and Down Smash do more knock back. Her Down Tilt and Forward Smash has a lot more killing power. Her pummel can hit larger characters (like Bowser). Her dash attack has been slightly improved. Her tether is longer with less lag and attaches to walls or ledges. Lastly, Samus’ Charged Shot can be used by simply press B for a quick shot or charged by holding down B. This is much how it was like in Melee.

Samus’s Special B Move Set

Neutral B – Charged Shot

Final Smash – Zero Laser

Final Melee – Gunship

Final Brawl – Bounty Hunter

Descriptions

Zero Laser is Samus’ Final Smash. It acts much like the original Zero Laser and, at the end, Zero Suit Samus is playable.

Beginning Cinematic: Samus presses buttons on her arm and cannon and charges it. She then stands up straight and holds her arm cannon upright.

Gunship is Samus’s Final Melee. Her Gunship hovers above the ground and Samus jumps up and enters the cockpit. She then gains control of the ship and fire blasters against players on the stage. It has a hovering type animation and will drift if the player moves the control stick to fast and then change directions. You can say the ship is in hovering mode. Pressing A will shoot out lasers that can devastate the stage. When the lasers come into contact with the stage, an explosion will occur. Each laser blast does 40% damage head on and decreases by 10% the further the blast is from a opponent. The explosion does between 10-39% damage; depending on the location and proximity of the explosion blast. In addition, hovering over an opponent does 3% damage for every hit and can cause opponents to bounce against the ground. This is also a possible meteor smash. Players can also jump on top of the Gunship in which, Samus can drift to the top or sides of the stage for a KO but her ship is fairly slow so it’s easy for players to jump off.

Beginning Cinematic: Samus presses a button on her Power Suit and, from behind her, the Gunship emrges, She humps up in a boost of energy and descends into the Gunship.

Bounty Hunter is Samus’s Final Brawl. Samus’ armor begins to glow with a blue color. She takes the grapple beam and grabs the opponent. She then tosses the opponent in the air while grapple beam is still attached. Samus then uses her rocker boosters and kicks the opponent to the ground. She then instantly pulls herself into the opponent who is laying on the ground and releases a powerful charged shot that obliterates the ground under the opponent. It does above-average knock back and deals 68-71% damage.

Proposed New Stage:Skytown Elysia

Proposed New Taunt(s)

Samus’s Current Move Set (taken from SmashWikia)

Ground Attacks

Normal

Dash Attack – Shoulder tackles. 11% damage. Decent dash attack with average knockback, but, while it’s still weak, it throws opponents higher and is good for setting up a b-air or other air games.

Neutral Attack – Punches and attacks with arm cannon in an arc. 3%, then 7%, with a total of 10%. Good on short-hopping opponents close-up, the second hit is faster to cancel shielding.

Forward Tilt – Spin kicks forward. 8% close range, 7% far range, 10% if angled up or down. Samus’s best mid-range defense/spacing move. Average knock back. Angling this one makes a much bigger difference than with most tilts.

Up Tilt – Axe kicks down. Similar to Captain Falcon’s Up-Tilt, though no disjoint, a little weaker and doesn’t move her forward. 13% damage. Good knockback, long duration. Good for use beneath platforms, spiking opponents against the ground into the air. Otherwise useful as a kind of anti-air move.

Down Tilt – Creates a fire burst on the ground with arm cannon. This is very similar to Snake‘s forward smash. 16% damage. High knockback for a down tilt. Samus’s quickest kill move, but laggy if shielded, has a small hitbox, and doesn’t defend against short-hops well.

Smash

Forward Smash – Thrusts arm cannon forward. It has Average KOing power. It has fast start-up, which can counter balance its poor reach and below-average knockback; surprising opponents up close after a cancelled fair or whenever the opportunity presents itself. This attack can KO at 90%. Due to its high knockback scaling, it is arguably Samus’ most reliable finisher. It can also be pointed upwards or downwards by holding the control stick either up or down respectively. Does 14%-22%.

Up Smash – Releases 5 fire bursts in an arc above herself. Moderately fast start-up lag, but has punishable ending lag with poor horizontal reach. The first four hitboxes have negligible knockback, designed to link each hitbox. However, the u-smash is easy to escape out of, especially at high percentages. One of the least effective smashes in the game, this move can occasionally redeem itself by catching larger characters for significant damage. It is otherwise very situational. Does 4-6% for each hit, dealing 23%-32% if all hits connect.

Down Smash – Spins around on the ground with her feet, sending her victims upward (back hit sends foes diagonally in front of Samus). Good for spacing. Fast start-up, but the back hit does not happen quickly and the d-smash has a little ending lag but not as bad as before. It has average KO ability however and will not reliably KO under 100%. Does 15-21% for the frontal hitbox, does 14-19% for the back hitbox.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Air – Sex Kick. 9% initially, 6% if hit afterwards. Below-average knockback. Samus’s large character model makes this neutral longer-ranged than many of the others in the game, but it’s still a primarily defensive maneuver.

Forward Air – Creates 5 fire burst in front of her. 3-4% per hit, 18% total. Okay knockback on final hit. Cancels quickly enough on landing to follow up with a d-tilt if someone was caught before the final fire burst. Great on ledge-hops, and an overall useful offensive move.

Back Air – Spins once backward with kick. 10% damage with low knockback normally, 14% damage with good knockback if hit with the tip of her foot. Somewhat slow with a tiny sweetspot, this kill move is hard to land and requires trickery and good spacing.

Up Air – Spins in a drill upward. 11% damage. Multiple hitboxes with low knockback makes this move one of Samus’s setup moves.

Down Air – Swings arm cannon in an arc underneath herself, can meteor smash with average power and has a fairly large hitbox. 15% damage. A great move to use while floating backwards over run-ins, but has a sweeping hitbox that needs good placement and is fairly slow. This is her only way to KO at lower percentages.

Grapple Beam – Sends grapple forward, with long range. 4% damage, 7% with tip. A staple Samus move that makes Samus one of the best campers in the game. Combine with Homing Missle/Super Missile-cancels and Charge Shots for a tremendous long-range obstacle course for opponents.

Grabs & Throws

Grab – Reaches forward with Grapple Beam. Incredibly laggy and dangerous, sped up slightly while running.

Pummel – Hits with fist. 1%

Back Throw – Flings backward. 8%

Forward Throw – Flings forward. 9%

Up Throw – Spins above her head and blasts opponent upward. Gradually deals a total of 9% damage

Down Throw – Slings back over her head then slams down. 6%

Taunts

Up: Salutes vigorously with her left arm as her booster goes off.

Left Side: Faces the screen and shows off what her arm cannon looks like while using her Zero Laser.

Down: Holding her arm cannon with her left hand, she aims behind her, then aims lower in front of her. Her cannon glistens each time she aims.

Stage Entrance

Exits from a Super Metroid Save Point.

My Thoughts

I wasn’t sure why Samus was nerfed in SSBB but I think that in SSBB4, she should play much like in SSBM or even better. I suggest buffing up Samus by giving her some killing moves such as the Missiles, her Charged Shot, and Forward Smash as well as increase her speed stats in terms of attacking. Making Samus have more moves that can KO, do more damage, and make her less heavier will make her a good character in my opinion.

Universe:Donkey Kong

Debut: Donkey Kong Country Returns (2010)

Size: Large

Obstacle Level: 5 (out of 5)

Type: Moving, side scrolling

Availability: Starter

Sunset Shores is straight from the Donkey Kong Country Returns game! This stage is a action-packed side scrolling level that holds true to how awesome this stage is. Every character is turned black (like Mr. Game and Watch) save for the character’s main clothes or accessories (Mario’s red hat and blue overalls, Link’s green hat and tunic, Donkey Kong’s red tie, Saki’s yellow shirt, Nightmare’s blond hair and glowing red eyes, etc.) This also applies to palette swaps and Buy-able Costumes.

Appearance

This stage holds true to it’s original. It transforms every character into a blacken silhouette that is set against a beautiful sunset along the shore. However, you don’t have much time to gawk as the stage slowly scrolls along; forcing players to jump, tumble, and fight there way as the stage progresses. Enemies that appear will also be black but no visible colors are present.

Obstacles and Movements

As mentioned before, the stage crawls slowly forcing players to hop, jump, roll, run, and fight there way through the stage. At times, foreground trees and boulders made obscure players from sight. One of the main hazards is knowing who is who. You can identify who is who by the colored clothing that appears on the silhouette. The second biggest hazard is running into enemies who ambush the players at random times. Running into these baddies only damages the player 5% but being hit by one of the baddies attacks does 10-15% damage; depending on the enemy. Once the stage is finished, it will loop to the starting point and repeat itself.

My Thoughts

I expect to see some sort of stage based off from Donkey Kong Country Returns. I felt this stage was both interesting and unique enough in both it’s art direction and backdrop. I originally planned for it to be a non-moving stage but I wanted to show the beauty of this stage by enabling it to move at a slow, casual pace. However, despite this, I think this would make for a very hectic and crazy stage because of all the black in it.

Chances of Being in SSB4

60% – I think a Donkey Kong Country Returns stage will appear and I feel this particular stage has a good enough chance to make it in. The only thing stopping it is the extra work it may take to do the silhouettes and the pieces of clothing along with color palette swaps.

The wind was blowing ominously. It felt as if the very world itself was dying and the very wind was poison. A lone Blade Lord dashed done the plains with a sacred sword hidden its sheath. The lone Blade Lord, Lyn jumped up the side of a cliff and vaulted over the edge onto the browning class. Far off, over a ridge of mountains, a floating mechanical isle drifted while emitting noxious fumes. Lyn covered her mouth, swallow hard, and chased after the isle while holding her sacred sword, Mani Katti.

Universe: Fire Emblem

Debut: Fire Emblem: Sword of Flame (2003)

Element Alignment: Wind

Affinity: Good

Purpose for Fighting: Revenge

Perks: Sword Damage, Double Sword Damage, Sword Damage Resistance, Speed Increase, HP Buff, Sword Speed Increase, Water Element Increase, Double Water Element Increase

Lyn is the protagonist from the Fire Emblem game, “Sword of Flame”. She shares her role with Eliwood, Roy’s father, and Hector. She appeared in Super Mash Bros. Brawl as an assist trophy. She is a nomadic girl from the Sacaen Plains who discovers she’s one of the last living members of the Lycia nobility. She becomes involved in a bloody battle of the Caelin Throne. She wields the sacred blade, Mani Katti.

Lyn’s Stats

Power: ***
Weight: **
Defense: ***
Speed: ****
Jump: ***
Recovery: ***
Element: **

Lyn excels in quick hit and run tactics. She has high mobility that allows her to hit an opponent several times and then escape to prepare for the next phase of the battle. However, if she is caught in a battle between two or more players, it is best to dodge or escape because she has a low defense stat (meaning she shield isn’t as strong) and she is very light; even lighter than Zamus, Peach, and Zelda. Her attacks involving a lot of dashing, quick slashes, and combos. However, if she is hit by an opponent with a strong attack power (Donkey Kong, Bowser, Nightmare, etc) will cause a KO or a OHKO. Keep her moving and plan your next attack.

Lyn’s B Moves

Neutral B – Fury Slash

Side B – Dashing Sword

Up B – Rising Lord

Down B – Avoid

Final Smash – Vanish Strike

Final Melee – Support

Final Brawl – Critical Strike

Fury Slash is Lyn’s neutral B move. Pressing and holding B will cause Lyn to do rapid cutting slashes. Each slash as a disjointed hit box and does 2% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perk. It can’t cancel projectiles and some attacks can punch through it. Lyn is also vulnerable from behind. If Lyn does the attack in midair, it will only slow down her fall by a little bit.

Dashing Sword is Lyn’s Side B move. She dashes forward and cuts the opponent. It can be sweetspotted to where the tip of swords hit the opponent. If this happens, Lyn and the opponent will freeze and then launch the opponent with high knockback; depending on the percentages. If it hits in the air, she is in a helpless state but if it connects, she isn’t. If not sweetspotted, it only does 8% damage and no knockback but sweetspotted will cause 20% damage and high knockback. Resembles her Assist trophy attack.

Rising Lord is Lyn’s Up B move. She kneels, vanishes,a nd then appears in the air; several spaces where she knelt. She then flips in the air with her sword extended which does 5% worth damage in hit and then slams her sword down to the ground which does 10% damage. Lyn then vanishes but re-appears and then flips away. Much like this animation. It does an additional 2% with the right perks. It is a decent recovery move with a good height but moderate range.

Avoid is Lyn`s Down B move. She will place her sword in a blocking position. If hit with an attack, she instantly vanishes and then appears above the opponent and does a downward stab that resembles Link’s dair move. It does decent damage at 15% but it has no ending lag so it is a perfect opportunity to retreat or combo into an attack. When Lyn does Avoid, the opponent is momentarily stunned for a .5 seconds.

Vanish Strike is Lyn`s Final Smash. Lyn vanishes from the field and, after 3 seconds, strikes the nearest opponent for a high amount of damage. It is one of the shortest, if not the shortest Final Smashes in the game. It does between 63% damage and is almost always a OHKO save for heavy or super heavy weights at low percentages. It has a high vertical knock back. It is an exact copy of her move as an assist trophy.

Support is Lyn`s Final Melee. Lyn calls in support from three characters from Sword of Flame: Eliwood, Hector, Florina, Rath, Kent, Will, or Wallace. It is random who enters the field but each character does a different attack and damage. The attack lasts for 10 seconds.
Eliwood – Rushes out and strikes the opponents with fast sword strikes. Does 15% with each hit.
Hector – Dashes out and cuts at opponents with his axe. Slower than Eliwood but does 25%. damage per hit.
Florina – Flies out on her Pegasus. She is the only air mounted unit. She attacks with a lance and does 17% damage and can knock down airborne opponents.
Rath – Charges out and beginsshooting arrows at opponents. He fires slower than Kent but he does 20% damage with every arrow. Sometimes he misses.

Kent – Runs out and begins firing a storm of arrows at opponents. Each hit does 10% damage but he fires much faster than Rath.
Will – He dashes out and begins furiously cutting into opponents. He is faster then Eliwood but does the least amount of damage overall. He does 6% damage per strike.
Wallace – Wallace charges out and attacks with his spear. He is faster than Hector but slower than Eliwood. He has a far reach that can punch through opponents. He does 20% damage with each attack.

If any of the supports suffer enough damage, they will lay down and vanish; usually with a death quote from the game.

Critical Strike is Lyn`s Final Brawl. Lyn dashes at the opponent and cuts the, dashes back and cuts them again. She then vanishes like her Final Smash and does a critical strike. Not as strong as Marth`s but it can do between 68-72% damage with an additional 3% with the right perks.

Proposed Stage: Tactician Base

Proposed Taunts

Left Side – She steps back and grabs her sword by it`s hilt and says Prepare yourself!

Right Side – She stands up straight and wipes her hands together as if dusting them off and says That`s that!

Up – She stretches her hands above her head and stretches. She yawns during this moment.

Down – She unsheathes her sword and points it at the opponents and says In my friend`s names, I will cut you down.

Proposed Winning Poses

Lyn unsheathes her sword and makes several cuts. She then sheathes it and says Behold the power of the Mani Katti.

She does several flips in the air and lands on her knee and says You`re still here?

Lyn appears, cuts with her sword, sheathes it and then vanishes from the screen.

Proposed Stage Entrance

Lyn suddenly appears, as if she vanished and moved to the spot with blinding speed, in a kneeling position. She then gets up and gets into her fighting stance.

Audience Cheer

Lyn`s Move Set

Lyn always keeps her sword, the Mani Katti, sheathed and only sheathes it when she attacks. This affects her animations but she has a long reach as to distance herself after attacking the opponent.

Ground Attacks

Normal

Neutral Attack – Swings her sheathed sword once, twice if the A button is pressed. If a third, time, she unsheathes it and strikes quickly. First attack does 3 % damage, the second 2% damage, and the third does 5% damage for a total of 10% damage with an additional 2% with the right perks.

Dash Attack – Lyn dashes forward, unsheathes her sword, and strikes with a mid horizontal slash into the opponent. It does 12% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perk.

Side Tilt – Pierces forward with her sword and slowly retreats back just a little bit. Has a long start-up and has the quickest ending lag then most her attacks. Does 10% damage and has a good horizontal knock back. It has a very long reach and can keep fighters from approaching her when running/dashing.

Up Tilt – Swings her sheathed blade above her head in an similar to Marth but not as wide. It does 12% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perk. It has multiple hit boxes.

Down Tilt – Sweeps her sword above the ground. It has a long reach and does 8% damage with an additional 1% with the right perks. It can knock opponents who are hanging from the stage but has a low knock back. A good combo set up move.

Smash

Side Smash – She keeps her swords sheathed and delivers a very powerful cutting attack. It can do anywhere from 19-20% damage; stronger when fully charged and an additional 2% damage with the right perks. After the initial attack, Lyn back steps twice to avoid other attacks. High horizontal knock back and KO potential.

Up Smash – Keeps her sword sheathed, and then cuts diagonally upward in a wide arc. It can do between 16-23% damage; stronger when fully charged and does an additional 2% damage with fully charged. It has 3 multiple hit boxes and a high vertical knock back. Lyn back steps twice to avoid further damage. Possible OHKO at high percentages. A good combo set up move.

Down Smash – Kneels, keeps her sword sheathed and then cuts in a downward angle for 14-19% damage and then cuts back behind her for 6-13% damage. She then front steps three times to avoid damage. First attack has high knock back while the second has a low knock back.

Other

Ledge Attack – Flips over the ledge and strikes with a downward slash. Does 7% damage with no added perks.

100% Ledge Attack – Pulls herself up, lunges forward and does a horizontal mid section slash, and then retreats back to the ledge. Does 11% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perk.

Floor Attack – Quickly unsheathes her sword and does a leg cut. Does 6% damage with an additional 1% with the right perk.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Aerial – Swings her sheathed blade in a downward diagonal angle. It can do two hits; both at 5% damage for an added 10% with an additional 1% damage with the right perks. Very fast start-up and end.

Forward Aerial – A wide sword cut from heat to toe. It has one of the largest forward aerial arcs in the game. It has a quick start up but slower lag. 12% damage with an additional 1% with the right perks. It can be done quickly. It has a high vertical knock back.

Back Aerial – Lyn reels back and kicks the opponent with her foot. Does moderate knock back and does 9% damage with no added perks.

Up Aerial – Lyn slightly does a small second air jump (even if she did one already) and cuts in a wide arc above her. It can hit twice at 8% damage for each hit for a total of 16% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perks. It has a long reach and damage arc and a high vertical knockback not to mention a second (or second) jump that propels her slightly forward. One of the best Uairs in the game.

Down Aerial – Flips downward and cuts as she reaches the downward arc of her flip. Does 10% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perks. It can knock opponents back down but is not a meteor smash.

Grabs & Throws

Pummel – Knees the opponent. Does 2% with no added perks.

Forward Throw – Trips the opponent and then slams them down to the ground Does 2% damage with no perks, by far her worst throw.

Down Throw – Slams the opponent down to the ground, vanishes, and reappears slightly above him or her and strikes down with her sword. Her most damaging throw and does 8% damage with an additional 1% damage with the right perk.

Back Throw – Grabs the opponent, swings them around and kicks them. Does 5% damage with no added perks. Good horizontal knock back.

Up Throw – Throws the opponent and does quick slash with her sheathed sword. Does 6% damage and a high vertical knock back.

My Thoughts

I wanted Lyn to resemble how her Assist trophy attacked, with quick and vanishing attacks hence why I added a lot of vanishing and dashing moves to her move list. I wanted Lyn to play much how Fire Emblem is played: very strategically. I want players to attack and then move back and plan for the next attack. you could say she plays much like a hit and run player. I wanted her attacks to be able to set up combos and punish players and quickly pull out of them. This is why I made her fast, light weight, and a high jumping ability. However, she should be fought in the ground while utilizing her hit and run tactics.

I added Lyn because of a few reasons:

1) She is an assist trophy in SSBB

2) The most viable Fire Emblem character to be added.

3) A women swordsman which SSB does not have yet.

4) A versatile and unique move set ability

She was a character I wanted since her debut in the SSB world and feel she could be a unique character that could contend with higher tier and in competitions.

Chances of Being in SSB4

24% – I think if Sakurai did decide to add a new Fire Emblem character, Lyn has the best bet due to her assist trophy and uniqueness. However, her inclusion is only guaranteed if Sakurai decides to make a 3rd Fire Emblem spot.
