why is it so difficult for people to use stairs and escalators in public places?  i suppose that the required ability to multi-task(putting one foot in front of the other, while moving vertically) is more than some people can cope with.

to break it down for you…

if there is only one set of stairs then you walk up the stairs on the right, and down the stairs on the left!  this is so people can go up AND down at the same time.

if you’re on the escalator then you stand to the right, and walk to the left!  this is so the lazy people don’t interfere with the lives of people who have shit to do!!!

if no one else is using the stairs/escalator then it is fine to walk/stand beside your companions.  but if you are sharing the space with other people then you need to obey the single file rule.  i promise you, your companionship WILL NOT suffer by not standing beside each other for a minute.

Every God has their field day

For Sivarathri we pray to Siva, for Pradosham another deity and so on. On specific days we chant mantras for a specific god. Thus during different days, we chant different mantras. Do we have to say so many mantras or do we have one mantra which takes care of all the gods.

We chant mantras based on the trust and love and association we have for a particular god. Different people prefer different gods. This is based on mind of the person. All gods are one and the same. Why so many gods or energies? Each of those gods has a specific purpose behind them.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna

Of course there is one mantra that gives the benefit of chanting mantras for all gods. It is the mantra, “Hare Rama Hare Krishna”. If we take bija mantras for all mantras, then they are present inside this mantra. Combination of all characters of mantras pertaining to all Gods is found in this mantra.

I chanted so much, and thus ego creeps in

Whatever mantra you say then immediately you get attached yourself to deity. You feel proud that you have done so much. However, while doing a Japam, it should remove my ego too. There is no flaw in the mantras. But mantra should have the capability to shed our ego. Hare Rama Hare Krishna can do that for us. Nothing else is needed. That doesn’t mean we need not go away from mantras for other Gods.

Get a Total Satisfaction

People have attained Siddhis or liberation with all the mantras. Why then Hare Rama Hare Krishna mantra has a special place? If you chant Hare Rama Hare Krishna mantra, then you get the satisfaction that you get by chanting all the mantras. You feel complete because you have not missed out any.

A TEEN who murdered a dad-of-two in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for life.

Thomas Main, 18, kicked and stamped Michael Wood to death in Aberdeen in June this year.

Mr Wood’s face was “smashed” during the attack and he died from his injuries.

Today (Monday) at the High Court in Livingston, thug Main was jailed for life after he previously admitted killing him.

Judge Lord Bracadale said the murder was “unprovoked” and ruled that Main must serve a minimum of 13 years before he can be considered for parole.

Defending, Mark Stewart QC, said Main had left school at an early age and had “drifted” into a life of drink and drugs.

He said: “It was the combination of his taking drink and drugs on the date in question which led to the incident which resulted in the attack and death of Mr Wood.

“There’s nothing which I can say which in any way explains or justifies the assault on Mr Wood – the apology I’m instructed to make will mean little to those affected by Mr Wood’s death.

“There is some understanding of the extremely serious nature of what occurred that day.

“There is some insight reported in the report in to the full extent of what he was responsible for and there is some indication that he understands the consequences of his actions.”

Lord Bracadale said to that the unprovoked attacked on Mr Wood involved Main “forcing” his victim down a flight of stairs and stamping on his head whilst he was unconscious, resulting in his whole face being “smashed in”.

He added: “This was a very serious assault which went on for some time.

“You have previous convictions of assault – one of which involved a weapon – and you were under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

“These are incriminating facts which will increase the length of imprisonment.

“I do take into account you age, that there was no weapon used and it was not pre-meditated.”

Relatives of Mr Wood present in the court room were elated and whispered shouts of joy when Main was handed down his sentence.

Main, was aged just 17 when he kicked 43-year-old Michael Wood “like a ball” so hard it left the distinctive pattern of his shoes imprinted on him during the attack in Balnagask Terrace late on Tuesday 9 June.

Headlock

The court heard previously that dad of two Mr Wood had split from his wife, suffered from an alcohol problem and had been on a binge with friends.

Main, who had five previous convictions for serious violence, had in turn been drinking vodka and Jack Daniels and was described as being “hyper” before he began punching Mr Wood in the face.

In evidence, the court heard previously how Main grabbed the older man in a headlock and during the struggle they both fell down stairs.

Main fell on top of the unconscious Mr Wood, breaking his fall.

But almost as soon as the teenage thug got to his feet again,he started kicking and stamping on Mr Wood’s head.

As he stamped on Mr Wood’s head one witness heard what he described as a ‘big snap’ – but still the attack continued.

Mr Wood was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after but he died from his injuries.

A Post Mortem examination later revealed his entire face had been “fragmented” with only his jaw bone still intact.

Main initially denied any involvement.

However he later admitted punching Mr Wood and kicking him “like kicking a ball” although claimed he had not meant to kill him.

Police earlier described the assault as a “cowardly and brutal attack on a vulnerable and defenceless man”

Hello Little Miss Toothless,

Yeah, you’re severely lacking in the teeth department. Other moms say I’m lucky, but all I feel is worry. I was reading on the internet that delayed teeth can be normal, or it can be a sign of hypothyroidism or rickets. Your Grandma Fay has hyperthyroidism and you’re not receiving vitamin D supplements. That said, mama is a little worried. So we start the countdown of one month until your next pediatrician appointment where I will bring it up. Hurry up and make an appearance teeth!

A month after learning to climb up the stairs, you finally mastered down. This whole delayed learning thing was very inconvenient when you thought you could just sit down to stop climbing the stairs and fell off—3 times! Luckily, you were only on the first stair all three times. Unluckily, you cry like you just got hit by a car whenever you feel any pain.

Now this next little tidbit is pretty important so pay attention. Peanut, you need to realize that nighttime is for sleeping. A couple months ago, we finally got it figured out that it’s a good thing to go to sleep at night, even though Oh. My. God. I’m. Missing. Events. Ah! After finally figuring that part out and getting back into our routine, you’ve decided that you can make up missing things in the night by waking up before the rooster crows. Don’t get me wrong, Mama doesn’t need to sleep in until noon, but 7am would be nice. So, remember, night time is for sleep. I have a feeling you are your father’s daughter in that department.

Finally, I would like to go over the exaggerated goodness which is walking. I know, right now it seems so cool to let go of whatever you may be leaning on for balance. I know it’s what all of the popular kids are doing, but it’s really not worth it. First it’s this fun new thing and everyone cheers—hey, you can even chase the dog better—but then you fall on your ass and run into things and bump your head. Just know that it’s not worth it. Don’t cave into the peer pressure. I don’t want to be talking about how I had this lovely daughter that was doing so well and then she started walking straight into a downhill spiral and is now a crack whore next newsletter. Kthnx.
