Parece que los numerosos seguidores de StarCraft en todo el mundo tendrán que esperar un poco más para disfrutar de la beta de la nueva entrega de la saga, (lo siento Ginji, xD).

Y es que, si bien los responsables del juego, Blizzard, habían dicho que estaría disponible durante el presente año, parece que finalmente ésta no verá la luz hasta 2010, alargando así unos meses la espera.

Ha sido el productor el juego, Chris Sigaty, quien lo ha asegurado de forma oficial en la IgroMir 2009, una feria rusa sobre videojuegos.

La versión definitiva de StarCraft 2, no obstante, se siguen esperando para la próxima primavera, aún sin fecha concreta.

Si hablamos de juegos de estrategía a la cabeza se nos vienen títulos como Age of Empires, Rise of the Nations, Command and Conquer, Caesar, entre otros, pero si hablamos de juegos de estrategía futurista hablamos de EL juego, StarCraft, el RTS de Blizzard que en 1998 debuta como uno de los juegos más vendidos de todos los tiempos.

StarCraft trataba la historia de tres razas, los Terran, los Zerg y los Protoss, estas tres razas jugaban al cachipún luchaban entre si en distintas campañas y episodios (3 en total), además de una Expansion llamada “Brood War” (Guerra de Razas). La gracia del juego es las características unicas de cada especie, donde los Terran poseen un arsenal potentes, soldados con rifles, lanzallamas, espias invisibles, tanques, aviones, cruceros de batallas, etc; los Zerg que tienen la capacidad de regenerarse, esconderse bajo la tierra, crear verdaderas plagas de extraterrestres; y los Protoss, que son la imagen de guerreros que luchan por el honor, cuerpo a cuerpo, con una resistencia impresionante.

Todos disfrutamos alguna vez de StarCraft, con sus emocionantes campañas, su acción, sin duda fue diversión asegurada. Bueno, despues de 9 años de la salida del primer juego (especificamente en Mayo del 2007) Blizzard anunció que estaría pronto a lanzar la segunda parte, con el nombre de StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, de el cual solo podemos encontrar diseños conceptuales, trailers y cosas varias, y alguno que otro rumor o cosas por estilo.

Dentro de lo oficial, Blizzard anunció que StarCraft II estaría listo entre abril y junio del 2010, asi que si tenias alguna expectativa de jugarlo este año, te dedico y me autodedico un gran CUEK!. Pero lo más probable es que el Beta de SCII esté listo para el primer trimestre del 2010, asi que ni tan enojado estoy.

Por mientras les dejo un trailer bonito, para que lo disfruten por mientras sale tan esperado título.

Chris Sigaty e потвърдил, че бетата е отложена за 2010 г. Крис е направил това изявление по време на презентация на руското гейм експо IgroMir (според Goha.ru и фен сайта StarCraft Legacy).

Последните новини от Blizzard са, че играта или по точно първата част “Wings of Liberty” ще се появи през Q2 2010 (т.е. между Април и Юни), а по пътя на логиката трябва да очакваме бетата през Q1… Оффф.

Recently I came into possession of a batch of models for Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battles through a trade I did on WarSeer, a site I am a keen fan of and frequent daily. Unfortunately the Warhammer 40,000 models are all gone now, but a few remain.

The models include limited edition runs of Gimli sitting on a dead Uruk-Hai for LotR and Standard Bearers for the Empire and Bretonnian armies for Warhammer Fantasy Battles. Amongst other things is also a very special limited edition model of the White Dwarf himself.

The other item I am selling is an EXTREMELY rare model, not of anything Games Workshop-related, but of Starcraft II, and has been sought after for many, many months by people. It is a scale model of Tychus Findlay, the Space Marine for the Terran army who features in the trailer for the new game coming next year. I am not kidding when I say this is not a cheap model, and you can see for yourself from this link (also on WarSeer) what I’m talking about. Please, help yourself to a look, and if you find yourself interested, let me know?

Blizzard has been teasing us for a long time about a new StarCraft sequel. It’s been over a decade since the first game came out, and 2 1/2 years since they revealed the first ever teaser trailer for SCII (the one with the marine who says, “Hell, it’s about time.”). Alas, there still is no release date confirmed. Blizzard is infamous for their delays: StarCraft: Ghost was announced in 2002, but was postponed until March 2006 when Blizzard put it on “indefinite hold”. StarCraft II, which was once planned to be a single game, has now been split into three parts, but we still don’t know when the first installment will arrive. Just this week, though, a new video called Battle Report IV has come out with Yeon-Ho Lee (Protoss) and David Kim (Terran) duking it out on the Lost Temple map (Battle 1 – 3 can be watched here). By the looks of the game so far, I’m guessing SCII will ready for release in 2010 or at least early 2011.

An amazing video with amazing commentary. It’s better than sex, and maybe even better than football! Oh wait… Anyway, watching this vid makes me want to dust off the old StarCraft disc again.

Всъщност Blizzard го пусна още вчера, но нямаше кой да качи видеотата в YouTube, а сегашната тема на Tech Station BG не поддържа embed-ване на клипове от други източници… Този минус обаче много скоро ще бъде премахнат и ще има много новости, но не обичам да говоря преди всичко да е готово Приятно гледане!

So last night, sometime roughly after 12am, i looked at the calendar for the day I have to go back to school, It said break went Through the 13th.   (Note: I did not realize that day had switched at that point, I thought it was still monday, that happened to be the 13th) So i started freaking out, finishing my clay model for character dev, cooking and painting it.  I finally got to sleep around 2am.  When i woke up this morning, it finally clicked to check what day it was again.  Sure enough, it was still the 13th.   Thus, I was up around 5:30 with nothing to do but click through the rest of Papercraft museum’s archives and find a shit load more papercrafts to share.

La famosa “Número Seis” de Battlestar Galactica, Tricia Helfer, se acaba de incorporar al equipo de StarCraft II, según declaró el director creativo de Blizzard Entertainment, Chris Metzen, en un foro dedicado a StarCraft, durante la BlizzCon 2009. Helfer prestará su voz para un personaje llamado Kerrigan. En el universo de StarCraft, Sarah Kerrigan es un miembro de la milicia Terran, quien es capturada por Zerg; y eventualmente transformada en The Queen of Blades.

Tricia se encuentra muy entusiasmada con el doble papel que interpreta porque afirma que es muy interesante encontrar las diferencias entre Sarah Kerrigan, quien es más bien inocente y The Queen of Blades, cuya personalidad es mucho más divertida. La actriz comenta que aunque se considera una persona muy agradable, es capaz de sacar ese lado malvado que requiere su personaje, sin olvidar que Sarah y Queen son en realidad la misma persona.

Helfer no es una veterana de los videojuegos, pero llegó a una franquicia bien consolidada y con una muy fuerte base de fanáticos, así que no tendrá problemas con su introducción a este universo. Para ella resulta intimidante entrar a un juego y hacer un trabajo del que no tiene el menor antecedente, además de considerarse virgen en cuanto a jugar se refiere, pero considera un honor estar en el equipo de StarCraft II.

En lo que Tricia sí tiene experiencia es en dar voz a personajes de videojuegos, como lo muestra su trabajo en títulos como Halo 3: ODST y Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
