Here’s a soft glam party look:

How to get it:

~Apply your usual face stuffs (primer, foundation etc).
~ Use a matte peachy blush to contour your cheeks (suck in your cheeks aka make fishy face) then apply the blush to the sunken in spots. Stardust Product used: Stella pigment
~Highlight your cheekbones with a luminizer or shimmery powder with a peachy undertone.  Stardust Product used: Goddess luminizer
~Dust your face with a finishing powder to set and soften.  Stardust Product used:  Matte Finishing Veil

For the eyes:
~Apply a sheer peachy glittery shade to your lid area, wet with sealant or mixing medium–you need something for the glitter to stick to in the next step.  Stardust Product used: Melt the Snow shimmer powder.
~While the peachy shade is still wet, pat on a silvery/crystal glitter on top of lid.  Stardust Product used:  Shimmerstorm shimmer powder
~Highlight browbone area with a slightly shimmery, warm shade.  Stardust Product used:  Cashmere Mittens
~Apply the crystal/silver glitter, wet along lower lashline.  Stardust Product used:  Shimmerstorm shimmer powder.
~Line upperlashline with a thin black line.  Stardust Product used:  Midnight Candle, wet
~Curl lashes
~Apply falsies if desired.  Used Ardell #117 in this look.
~Coat upper and lower lashes with mascara.  Be very generous with the coats.  Used Covergirl Lashblast in black.
~Bat those pretty sparkly peepers!

~Use a peachy/pinky lipstick or gloss to finish.  Used Nars Orgasm l/g

Hi everyone. It has been a crazy busy week, thank you all!!!

I wanted to give you some details about the Forum. I almost have it figured out and ready to go. I am excited to create a safe and positive place for everyone to share their passion, creativity, and love (for makeup and other things!). You will have to register to see the forums because I want it to be a ’safe’ environment. But other than that, the rules will be few…just a place to kick back, relax and chat–and share those makeup looks!

My 1 year Wedding Anniversary is Sunday. Saturday, I am making a traditional (US style) Thanksgiving dinner for the family. Canadian Thanksgiving was in October…we did have a huge family gathering but the fare was mostly Ukranian (yummy!) and I am missing home so this meal is extra special to me. Sunday we will probably go to a little Greek place and perhaps to a Casino. We got married in Vegas, so it seems appropriate!

On to the look. I’ve had this in my head a few days now. I call it “Winter Siren”. Super pinky-licious and bright.

“Music Sounds Better with You” is a 1998 single by house music band Stardust. The vocal performance of the song was provided by Benjamin Diamond of the band. The song uses a sample of the song “Fate” by Chaka Khan, which appeared on her 1981 album What Cha’ Gonna Do for Me. It was also one of the highest-selling singles of the year in the United Kingdom, where it debuted at #2 on the UK Singles Chart in August 1998 and maintained the position for two weeks. That same month, the song also spent two weeks atop the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. This is the only single released by the Stardust project.

Fue mi psicoanalista Pablicto Muñoz el que me enseñó a moverme por el mundo de los sueños. Nos acabábamos de conocer.  Creo que estábamos en un bar hablando de sueños, de sueños repetitivos, de sueños impresionantes y me contó como era posible moverse dentro de un sueño, dominarlo y hacer lo que uno quiera dentro de el.

No le creí, aunque como siempre me pasa con él, no pude decir que no fuera verdad. Se repite con mis mejores amigos que por muchos disparates que me suelten, no puedo negarles que no sea verdad. ¿Lo se yo?

Y eso da alas.

No fue cuestión de días sino de años, pero al fin y poco a poco, me he ido dando cuenta de que ese bribón enano, no mentía.

Os contaré una de esas últimas experiencias. Una de las mas flipantes.

Mi destino: Alemania. Una de esas convenciones de la asociación de fisioterapeutas Bobath a Alemania con el fin de subir un peldaño mas en mi carrera profesional, como tiene que ser.

Medio de transporte: Avión.

Qué mameluco… es increible como cada vez que te subes a un avión y estás a punto de despegar el “comandante” coge el walkie-talkie y al dirigirse al respetable balbucea con sopor pero a toda hostia unas frases (probablemente) leidas lo peor posible que es capaz.

Hagamos un inciso para analizar los motivos:

*1/ Para que parezca que lo tiene todo controlado, que ha volado 3 millones de horas que está sobrado y tu no eres mas que un puto gusano. Que quede claro que tu vida está en sus manos.

*2/ Que sabe mogollón de ingles y ya casi se le ha olvidado el castellano -como a Martín Lopez Zubero- para hacerte sospechar que quizá vive a caballo entre Manhattan y La Moraleja, cuando probablemente vive en San Chinarro.

*3/ Efectos del alcohol, cocaina y Viagra. Too much triqui-triqui con l@s azafat@s. No olvidemos que el jet lag es malísimo.

*4/  Si fuera alfarero, carpintero o campesino sería mas feliz. Si o si.

El caso es que esta actitud -en mi caso- actua como cápsula somnífera, y el único rato que me quedo dormido en un vuelo es antes del despegue.

Momento en el que empecé a soñar…

Aparecí en un sitio precioso. El valle del Azucar (USA) Un bosque repleto de los colores del Otoño atravesado por un rio que discurria por el fondo del valle. Me hallaba en una vieja casa de madera con un tipo que no se quitó un gorro ruso en los 10 dias que duró el sueño, una tía con 2 trenzas que vestía un pijama de rayas y el dichoso comandante McFoscar. La luz era tenue y acogedora, había lucecitas de esas de Navidad por todas partes y calabazas de Halloween con sus diferentes muecas chinescas. Recuerdo estar bien ahí. Sentados alrededor de la mesa de una gran cocina charlamos y charlamos. Bueno… el supuesto McFoscar, comandante del avión resultó no tener ni guarra de inglés como intuía antes de quedarme dormido.

Pero si, allí hablamos sobre el hecho de ser un “Misfit”, el sentirse inadaptado, cementerios y niños, discutimos amargamente sobre si la música de Mozart, la música clásica y los Requiems no eran mas que el subproducto de lo que los monarcas e Iglesia quisieron en su tiempo. Y lo contrapusimos a la música de los negros de Africa, esa de la que tanto os he hablado, la que hizo que la musica americana tenga la piel negra. Nos disfrazamos de Góticos siniestros y salimos a dar una vuelta al cementerio del valle junto a un par de cabras amarradas a una cadena. Vimos antiguas películas rodadas en Super 8 de los tiempos en los que en Central Park había un zoológico. Hicimos música en el salón de la casa transformado en un estudio como el que tantas veces había soñado con los ojos abiertos.

Si, claro tambien nos comimos un cocido. Todo el pueblo vino a vernos, iban todos disfrazados, multitud de niños llamando de puerta en puerta pidiendo caramelos, y juntos cantamos canciones de John Prine al calor de una gran hoguera. Aporreé unos bongos hasta sangrar.

Vi una estrella fugaz, e incluso un cerdo volando, señales de boda.

Soñe con gaitas.

Chocamos las manos de alegría por ser los únicos pirados que piensan que Joey Ramone  ha sido el “Best singer ever”

Soñe con una gran luna Llena. Soñé con las 12 lunas indias.

En este sueño escuchamos blues muy antiguo hecho por gente de la que no existe siquiera una imagen de ellos.

Mucha furia y mucho barro.

En el pueblo unos skaters se enganchaban a una carreta del año 1800 tirada por caballos, en la que iba una familia entera con los trajes y peinados de esa época. Ay si en los sueños se pudieran tirar fotos… Pero los sueños sueños son, y las imágenes quedan en mi cabeza, nada mas. Entre la neblina.

Solo puedo compartir unas canciones, las que me pareció escuchar, solo algunas de las que recuerdo. Este disco que regalo es la banda sonora de este sueño.

Solo espero que algún día pueda yo convertirme en tu mejor amigo y confies en mi de manera incondicional. Los sueños se pueden dominar, porque quien sabe si como me dijo el amigo Segismundo cuando me hallaba en el diván: “La vida es solo sueño” y… Zzzzzz.

I did a super fast simple look today:

What I used:

On face I used a test blend of foundation and concealer, Frolic blush and Candlelight blush.

For the eyes I used the test concealer as my primer then did a soft wash of Cashmere Mittens LE with a fluffy blending brush, then wetlined Ribbons and Bows LE.  Followed with a couple coats of Lashblast.

Lips are NYC brand Dubonnet.

O que esperar de um filme baseado na coleção de figuras de ação da Hasbro, os ‘bonequinhos’ do G. I. Joe? Explosões, gente bonita, e claro, te deixar com aquela vontade de entrar na primeira loja de brinquedos e comprar um bonequinho do Storm Shadow e outro do Snake Eyes assim que a sessão terminar!

Com direção de Stephen Sommers, que é conhecido por seus filmes que entretem sem compromisso, como Van Helsing e a trilogia A Múmia. Stephen brinca com o filme como se estivesse realizando seu sonho de criança. Os atores atiram, levam tiro, saltam, caem, brigam, beijam (beijos ridículos, só pra constar), e tem flashbacks. Vários. Sofridos. Na chuva, porque não tem como fugir do clichê.

O filme começa em um futuro não muito distante. O exército transporta uma nova arma com nanorobôs que destroem tudo o que é aço e só param quando são desativados por um controle remoto. O transporte segue bem até osCobra, um grupo de vilões com armas de tecnologia e treinamento superior ao do exército, atacarem o comboio atrás das tais armas. O capitão Duke, interpretado por Channing Tatum (que já foi stripper mas sem tirar a cueca, só pra deixar claro) e seu braço direito Ripcord, Marlon Wayans, que você provavelmente conhece pelas comédias Todo Mundo em Pânico, são salvos pelos G. I. Joe, uma divisão super secreta do exército internacional de inteligência, armas, tecnologia e treinamento tão avançados quanto os Cobra. É dado o ponta pé para várias reviravoltas, explosões e muita coisa acontecer ao mesmo tempo. Lógico que para haver uma, duas ou três continuações.

Com atores conhecidos, como Arnold Vosloo, interpretando o vilão camaleão Zartan e Brendan Fraser em uma participação muito rápida comoSargento Stone. Pois é, Imhotep e Richard O’Connell em lados opostos de novo! E claro,  Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (quero assistir uma entrevista com alguém dizendo o nome dele completo!) que os fãs de Lost conhecem como Mr Eko, interpretando Heavy Duty. Das gata-garotas temos a lindaSienna Miller, interpretando Ana, a baronesa. Sienna já deu vida a Victoria em Stardust. Rachel Nichols, é Scarlett, a nerd dos Joe. Rachel já atuou no seriado Alias, de J J Abrams. Será que isso pesou na escolha da atriz para a personagem?

G. I. Joe – The Rise of The Cobra (G.I. Joe – A Origem de Cobra) é uma rentável colcha de retalhos. Há diversos personagens que permitem diversas continuações tanto em grupo como histórias fechadas com um ou dos integrantes. Particularmente quero muito que façam um filme solo do Storm Shadow. Byung-hun Lee fez o personagem todo afetado, um verdadeiroElvis assassino from Japan!

Mais uma adaptação de O Retrato de Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde, para os cinemas. Essa vêm pelas mãos de Oliver Parker, que já adaptou para as telonas Othelo (1995), de Shakespeare e An Ideal Husband (1999), outra obra de Oscar Wilde.

Ben Barnes (Stardust (2007), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian(2008)) interpretará Dorian, o jovem de beleza estonteante que após ter noção desta através de um quadro pintado por seu amigo Basil e pelas palavras instigadoras de Lord Henry, se perde apaixonadamente pela própria beleza e deseja do fundo de seu coração mantê-la para sempre. Forças desconhecidas tornam este desejo realidade e fazem com que seu quadro envelheça e fique  horroroso a cada “pecado” cometido, mantendo a beleza e juventude de Dorian pela eternidade.

O livro é aberto a diversas interpretações psicológicas, sexuais e sociais além de transitar pela metalinguagem. A obra já teve diversas interpretações para o cinema, sendo a última a participação do personagem principal da obra emA Liga Extraordinária (2003), vivido por Stuart Townsend.

Dorian Gray chega aos cinemas em 09 de Setembro deste ano. Veja o trailer:

The Picture of Dorian Gray carrega uma grande carga biográfica devido a crítica social que Oscar Wilde faz a sociedade do século XIX. Pessoas que escondem suas perversões, traições amorosas e uso de pessoas para chegar a objetivos egoístas atrás das máscaras sociais são claramente identificadas na obra, tornando-a universal e atemporal. Por isso as várias versões cinematográficas da obra, desde versões em cinema mudo até a utilização de Dorian em A Liga Extraordinária como o Ser sem sentimentos.

Lembrando que Oscar Wilde sentiu na pela toda a hipocrisia de uma sociedade quando todos lhe viraram as costas, perdendo todo o dinheiro e quase a dignidade completa sendo preso e humilhado quando acusado de ter um relacionamento homossexual com Lord Alfred Douglas, ou Bosie.

O trailer dá a dica de que Oliver Parker manteve todo esse tom sombrio e luxurioso da obra original. É esperar de dedos cruzados para ver.

This is a wonderful magical fantasy, with an all star cast narrated by Ian Mckellen (Gandalf in Lord of the Rings).

It stars Charlie Cox as Tristan in the middle century, where there is a wall somewhere in England humans are not supposed to cross, in fact there is a 97 year old man played by David Kelly (Charlie and the chocolate factory) who guards it.

It so happens that Tristan’s father Humphrey, played by Nathaniel Parker (Bleak House) 18 years previously had somehow got across from the real world into the fantasy world, and had met a trapped princess, Uma played by the lovely Kate Magowan (Blade 2), they spent the night and 9 months later he was handed a basket containing Tristan.

18 years on in the fantasy world, the king of that kingdom played by the legendary Peter O’Toole (Venus), is facing his death bed, and with his sons he sets a challenge that whosoever can retrieve the fallen star he has just set loose gets to be the new king, all the sons are as ruthless in chasing this just as the king was ruthless against his brothers before he became king, the chief of the king’s sons is Septimus played wonderfully by Mark Strong (RocknRolla).

In the real world Tristan is trying to impress the girl of his dreams, Victoria played by the lovely Sienna Miller (Casanova), but she has a suitor she prefers, and even though she enjoys getting Tristan to do things for her, the love is never returned.

Tristan happens to find out from the 97 year old guard that his father had previously crossed the wall, on confronting his father over this, his father tells him the truth, and shows him the items that came along with Tristan in the basket, one a magical Babylon candle that can transport anyone to wherever they are thinking of going, “the fastest way to travel” as Tristan’s mother puts it, in the letter she left for him in his basket.

Tristan uses the candle and ends up in the fantasy world, where he happens to encounter the fallen star , which apparently is a person called Yvaine in the form of the lovely Claire Danes (Romeo and Juliet). At first Tristan plans to take the star to Victoria in order to get her to marry him, and although they get on awkwardly at first, the inevitable romance soon blossoms, however there is trouble in the form of Michelle Pfeiffer (The Witches of Eastwick) as Lamia, a desperate witch who along with her sisters wants to eat the Star to maintain their immortality.

It is a wonderfully enchanting movie the whole family will enjoy, and many will be surprised by how enjoyable it is.

I’ve been in a makeup rut the past few days.  Ever have one of those weeks where none of the makeup looks you do ‘work’?  That was this week for me.  Add to it my skin is a mess due to a new moisturizer I tried (broke me out terribly) and the monthly hormonal zits, ewww!!

This morning I searched for some kind of inspiration to pull me out of the rut, and I found it in a MAC face chart.  This look is inspired by the facechart “She- Zam”

What I used:

Face:  Silky Primer, 50-50 blend of Pale Warm and Light Warm Original Foundation, Pink Sugar on cheeks, Winter’s Kiss used to blend, finished with Photo-finish
