Hi to everyone that is here for the first time and has decided to read up from the beginning. Well your probably wondering what I’m doing and it simple. I’m going to work out for a month. OK then not very interesting but I plan on doing it without changing any of my eating habits or other exercise routines (which is none, unless you count the PC or xbox a workout? thought not).

I don’t plan on spending any money joining an expensive gym or buying any slimming products, I don’t plan on going out of my way to,  lets say to run around the block, go on a bike ride, play football, go swimming or any other activity that could be construed as exercise. My plan is to see what results someone with a busy lifestyle can achieve in a month. Depending on the popularity of this project I may even go further than a month but that’s going to be a looong way from here.

OK so the plan in general and what you will get from me. I want to be honest here and get this out first, I haven’t planned this. This isn’t something I have been thinking about doing for a long time, I’m just on a break from working at home (yup sat on my backside) and thinking this cant be good for me. I don’t want to be overweight and my current eating and exercise habits aren’t helping that.

Oh right, Ive gone off subject. So my plan is every day I will do some exercise and post the results along with pictures (pre-warning: not for the faint of heart). I will try and record all the information I can and I will also be taking advise from readers. Things that I plan on including :-

• Weight
• Waist Size
• Food that I have eaten for the day (so you can see I’m not on a diet)
• The exercises that I have done for the day, how much of each and how long it took me
• Daily pictures of my progress (which I will also try and put into an animation to show any progress)
• Charts. I will try and put my data into charts so it is more easy to track

So there is the plan, I’m sure more things will be added to this as I go along and I will also try and post some other bits of information as I go along. Wish me luck on what I expect will be a hard journey for me!!

Als webserver gaan we de IBM HTTP Server gebruiken. Er zijn ook andere mogelijkheden (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27007663), maar de integratie van de IHS met WebSphere is bijzonder goed. Verder is de IHS gebaseerd op de apache server, de beste webserver die er is. De IHS heeft wat uitbreidingen op apache waar we dankbaar gebruik van gaan maken.

Starten doen we via de install.exe die te vinden is in de Was Supplements/IHS folder:

De installatie heet ons welkom en we klikken op de knop Next. We accepteren de licentie en klikken nogmaals op de knop Next. Wij krijgen weer een failure omdat SP3 van XP niet herkent wordt. Dit is geen probleem:

We klikken gewoon op Next en krijgen de vraag waar we de installatie willen uitvoeren:

Default is dat C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer, maar wij veranderen dat naar C:\IBM\HTTPServer. Het volgende scherm vraagt om de poort waardes van de HTTP poort en van de Administration poort:

We laten hier de default waardes staan. De HTTP Port is de default van de browser. De 8008 port gaan we gebruiken voor administration. We kunnen de administration rechtstreeks via het IBM console gaan doen.

Nu krijgen we een scherm om een administrator voor de IHS op te geven:

We kiezen voor de naam ihsadmin (elke naam is goed) en geven en bevestigen een wachtwoord. Ook deze gegevens hebben we later nodig als we de administratie van de IHS server gaan regelen via het IBM console van WebSphere.

Na het klikken van Next komen we in het scherm IBM HTTP Server Plug-in for IBM WebSphere Application Server.

We willen die plugin en hierboven zie je de default waarde van dit scherm. Het vinkje om te installeren staat aan er is een naam gegeven (webserver1) en de hostnaam (lc.wwcorp.com) is de naam van onze machine. Dit is goed, dus klikken we weer op Next. De webserver definitie hebben we nodig voor WebSphere.

Nu volgt het laatst scherm waarin alle keuzes die we gemaakt hebben terug zijn te lezen. Via de knop Back kun je terug om een wijziging aan te brengen.

Je ziet dat de Plugin geïnstalleerd worden in C:\IBM\HTTPServer\Plugins.

Nog een keer Next klikken en de installatie begint. Deze duurt maar enkele minuten. Daarna verschijnt het onderstaande scherm.

Hoy domingo 22 de Noviembre comenzó la Regata. Tuve la suerte de ir en el Pandora (www.pandorachartes.com) un motovelero de 231 metros de eslora que tiene su base en el Puerto Deportivo.

Primeros salieron los “Formula 1″  de la racing Division. El primero en cruzar la salida fue el Maxio UMATALU, pero parece que se adelantaron y han sido penalizados con 3 horas. LA verdad es que en una travesía tan larga no se si es un gran penalización, pero ya lo veremos al final. Le siguieron el KATAWA y el BAGHEERA. El Bagheera es el de velas más espectaculares, todas en negro.

En cuanto a los cruceros, que es lo más autentico de la flota, pues cada uno salió un poco dependiendo de como se tomabana la regata. Unos más en serio y otros más relajados.

Destacaria el swan finlandes CANTANA tripulado por una pareja, que se lo pasaron muy bien, aunque no era el barco más pequeño, que es el ZAHARA de 29 pies.

Ya iremos siguiendo a la flota.

Desde ya debo advertir que mi favorito es el HARTBEAT. Un Truly Classic 78 de 23.77 metros de eslora  holandes.

La mala noticia para tres barcos que vimos que tuvieron que volver al muelle deportivo por problemas. A ver si son capaces de resolverlos durate el día y no pierden la oportunidad de participar en la regata. Un dia no es mucha perdida en una Reagata tan larga

Today, I feel and know, is a new day. I finally made the plan and implamented it, to start a blog.

I have a good since of accomplisment for just geeting started.

This I know, is the start of the second half of my life. The first half was just a dry run for something much, much better.

I was reminded, whilst watching this year’s (rather lacklustre) Le Mans 24 Hours review on DVD, that it has been 40 years now since the more traditional style start to the blue riband event was abolished.

Up until 1969, drivers would line up opposite their cars on the starting grid, and as the flag was dropped to signify the start of the race, they would run across the track to their vehicles, climb in and get it started as quickly as possible to pull away from the grid.

In their haste to make a speedy getaway, many of the drivers would often neglect to belt themselves in correctly until they were often along the Hunaudieres straight pulling speeds of around 160mph, resulting in frequent crashes and, as 1969 would show, tragedy.

John Woolfe, an amateur British driver who had qualified 21st in his private Porsche 917, crashed into a barrier at Maison Blanche and, due to the fact he had not taken the effort to strap himself in securely, was flung from his vehicle and subsequently died.

This would then set off a chain of events as the fuel tank from Woolfe’s car became dislodged and eventually collided with Chris Amon’s Ferrari 312P, causing it to explode underneath his car, resulting in his retirement and forcing the race to stop for two hours before eventually restarting.

In contrast, a 24-year-old Jack Ickx had demonstrated his displeasure against the starting procedure by slowly walking over to his Ford GT40, deliberately making the effort to strap himself in properly and securely, and as a result, emerged voluntarily at the back of the field.

Yet in a dramatic race, which some consider as being the best in the history of the endurance event, Ickx eventually won after beating rival Hans Hermann by just 100m after 24 hours of fierce driving and winning Le Mans for the first time in his brilliant career.

The following year the traditional Le Mans-style start was then replaced by a variant in which the drivers already sat in their cars, strapped in safely by their mechanics and then entered the track simultaneously, before the advent of the rolling start we now know was adopted in 1971.

But a legacy to this bygone era still remains, as to this very day, Porsche continues to place the ignition to the left of the steering column on its cars. This placement was chosen to enable the driver to start the car with his left hand and put it into gear with his right. Old habits die hard.

To start, we have erected two buildings:

The first is the foreman’s hut. This is where all information on our under construction website will be housed and nurtured. Screen shots, ideas and just plan old ideas will be collaborated and raised.

The other building is our Digital Museum. Here we will display all forms of digital work we find on the Galaxy that is the Internet, that just make our taste buds ooze.

Sydney’s Big Day Out is always just that – a BIG DAY… out. However, in the year of 2007 I don’t think anyone quite realize just how big the day was really going to turn out¹. For it was on this day I took a photograph of my first dead animal. I pulled a whole ‘Emo-dude-from-American-Beauty’ and justified my actions by just saying that it look beautiful, when in fact it just looked like a dead fucking pigeon.

The idea stuck and over the next year it turned into a hobby. Every lifeless body, every rotting carcass and every piece of fresh road kill I came across I took a happy snap with my cellular. Even mates got involved by sending me photos of the thing they had come across. I would thank them and store their findings with the others in a neat little file on my phone, fittingly named ‘Dead Shit.’

Sadly, 18 months and some 50 photographs later, I got pissed and dropped my mobile into a pub toilet. Death itself had crept up and taken the life of my phone and with it went too my spirit. I did not take another photograph for some time. Some say it was because emotion trauma of the pub incident had taken its toll on my sanity – but mostly it was because the phone I replaced it with was cheap and didn’t have a camera. My passion had died.

¹That particular year it should have been renamed to something more fitting. Eg, Monumentally Gigantic Huge Day Out.

Today marks the last and first of many things. Today was the last day to have class at Full Sail in the year of 2009. Today marked the final exam that ended my classes for this month. Today also marks the day that I start editing my group’s 16mm project in Final Cut Pro. Today marks the day of motivated time management and productivity. Today marks the end of laziness and wallowing in nothingness. Also, today marks the start of relearning HTML and coding a future website from scratch. Today is a day that I spent time talking to my father about financial situations and trying to work everything out. Today is a day of and for God.

Let this weekend and next week and a half in Orlando be good before I head home. Online classes start on Monday and I hope I can motivate myself and be disciplined. Here is to finishing the year of 2009 with a blast of motivation and inspiration. Here is to the last year of me being a teenager, feeling so young and so old at the same time.

I had wanted to do a blog from awhile back.  I finally have started one.  This is my therapy and my thoughts.  It doesn’t have a theme other than what I post for the most part.  I am just putting this up, to get me started. hehe.  I find that I like to write, but I like to type and I like to put it up to others.  I don’t know why I like it that way, but I’ve tried just journaling to myself and for some reason, it just doesn’t come out.  I tried also to write with, you know, paper and pencil, that too, does not seem to work.  So blogging is the perfect thing I would imagine ….. That’s it for now.  This is Day 1.

ok so here goes…

I’m going to talk about where I come from to give you an understanding of myself.

I grew up in a Hispanic home.  My mother very strong yet submissive and my father full of testosterone and macho-isms.  I grew up second oldest of four girls.  The oldest pretty full of talent, third oldest cute and full of charm, and the youngest beautiful and the baby.

Where did I fit in a family full of stars.  I had no clue as to who I was.  I did as was told.  Yet I still had a bold streak in me.  Whenever I could I would talk  back to the parents and stand tall.  Yet slowly as I got older I started to regress into myself.  I started to have homosexual tendencies (whatever that means).

I would day dream of being with women.  I would dream of dating them, loving them, and being in love with them.  I remember my first few crushes. They were with the student teachers at school.  My first crush was in fourth grade and the second crush was in fifth grade.  Looking back… HOW COULD I NOT BE GAY!

All the signs were there.  Every single one.  But I grew up extremely religious!  I was told from a very young age how wrong that was!  How wrong it should be.  How I will end up in the pits of hell if I declare to be gay.

I remember one time I before falling asleep my sister S (3rd oldest of the bunch the one with charm) and I were talking, as we did a lot before falling asleep,   I had decided to tell her that I knew I was gay.  Once I told her she got up IMMEDIATELY and told my mother.  My mother then came into the room and told me why it was wrong, that that is not what God wanted for us and then prayed over me or it out of me.  Whatever it was I realized from that day forward that I couldn’t be gay.  That it was wrong and anything else that I tell my mother or sister S would come back and bite me in the ass.

So needless to say I stopped being that fully vibrant child because I started to hide a part of me.  I’m not sure if its the best part of me but a good part of myself.  The part of me that was full of life.

Well this has been my beginnings.  I will keep it short.  Next post I will add more.

My simulated world run started in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday November 1, 2009.  My  journey to Seattle, Washington is 226 km and I’ve estimated that about 8km per day will ensure that I arrive on November 28th, a day before the Seattle Marathon. To date, I’ve logged over 187.5km and this coming week will allow me some time to rest up before the marathon and finish the remaining 38.5km bringing me into downtown Seattle just in time for the event.
