Mit der richtigen Software und ein paar kleinen Hardwaregeräten wird der eigene Rechner zum kompletten <strong>Musikstudio</strong>. Wenn man ein kompletter Neueinsteiger ist sollte man sich erst mal nach einer geeigneten Software umschauen. Am besten besorgt man sich eine Demosoftware zum ausprobieren, die meisten Software Anbieter ermöglichen dem Interessierten meist einen kostenlosen Download der gewünschten <strong>Demo Musiksoftware</strong>. Hier mal eine kleine Liste der unterschiedlichen Produkte die auf dem Markt sind.</p>
<p><strong>Steinberg Cubase Essential 5<br />
</strong>Ein recht günstiges Einsteigerprogramm in die Welt der Produktion, es bietet eine Aufnahme Möglichkeit auf 8 Stereo oder 16 Mono Spuren. Ebenso können virtuelle Instrument eingebunden werden. Mehr Informationen über die Musiksoftware findet ihr auf der Hersteller Seite <a href="http://www.steinberg.net">www.steinberg.net</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Propellerhead Reason<br />
</strong>Reason ist  ein virtuelles Studio-Rack mit virtuellen Synthesizern und Sequenzer, sowie einer Drum-Machine. Ebenso findet man einen Sampleplayer und weitere virtuelle Adaptionen. Wer den mal ausprobieren möchte, auf der Webseite <a href="http://www.propellerheads.se">www.propellerheads.se</a>   kann man das Studio als Demo runterladen.</p>
<p><strong>Audacty </strong></p>
<p>Ein Open Source Audio Editor mit Aufnahmefunktion und mehreren Bearbeitungsmöglichkeiten. Ideal für Live Aufnahmen oder Mitschnitten von Musikstücken, sowie zur Sampleaufnahme geiegnet. Herunterladen kann man sich die Software auf  <a href="http://www.audacity.sourceforge.net">www.audacity.sourceforge.net</a> </p>
<p>Es gibt natürlich wesentlich mehr Musiksoftware, doch sind die meisten dieser Programme sehr komplex aufgebaut und daher empfiehlt es sich mit eher einfach aufgebauter Software die Grundstrukturen der Funktionweise von Musiksoftware zu erkunden. Unter den komplexen Programmen findet man beispielsweise <strong>Logic</strong>, diese Studiosoftware ersetzt fast schon ein echtes <strong>Tonstudio</strong>. Um da alle Funktionen unter kontrolle zu bekommen sollte man sich schon ein wenig mit Studiosoftware und Musiksoftware auskennen. Doch auch die kleinen Programme haben es in sich, so wurde Reason schon bei Produktionen von vielen Profis genutzt und viele kleine Producer haben schon mit Cubase Essentials 5 wahre Meisterstücke erstellt.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Whenever a customer questions this at Dolphin our response is always to let them try it out first with the onboard soundcard. There is no better way of learning how much of a difference good AD converters can be then to use really bad ones. The onboard soundcard (or internal soundcard) is installed for alert sounds, games and MP3s but when it comes to recording audio and transferring to digital you really do need a better soundcard. Interference from the transformer, hard drive and so on will always inhibit the quality</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">On board soundcards don’t offer multiple inputs which rules out any larger scale recording of bands or primarily drums. They also suffer from large amounts of latency (glitches in the audio recording) which you will need to overcome via getting a better soundcard. This latency is caused by the onboard drivers not being capable of fast transfer speeds. You really need something with ASIO 2 drivers, which most external soundcards support</p>

Normally, this would be a long post, but it&#8217;s nearly six a.m. and I&#8217;m tired so I won&#8217;t make it too long.<br />
The MDR EX-500&#8217;s are still sounding really sweet, though I&#8217;m not enjoying them as much as I did the Skullcandy Smokin&#8217; Buds. </p>
<p>Firstly, they came free because I had a Kondor voucher with my then-new phone. Secondly, I had pure unadulterated fun with those &#8211; I would blast music as loud as I wanted without a care in the world. I had great times and I had bad times, but sticking those in my ears and playing some good music always made me feel great. </p>
<p>I don&#8217;t get that with the Sony pair. I&#8217;m being careful not to break them or damage them. I&#8217;m worrying about how much slack there is on the wire and whether it&#8217;s in a position in which it could get damage. Sound leakage is pretty bad too, especially compared to the Skullcandy, so I have to consider the people around me.<br />
Is this a sign that I&#8217;m growing up?<br />

University has been a fairly hot topic over the last few days. The way it seems is that I&#8217;ll be staying in Birmingham, still living with my parents. Exactly what I didn&#8217;t want. I want to learn to be independent &#8211; to know how to survive when I know there&#8217;s nobody around. I proposed a compromise &#8211; living in student accommodation, but stay in Birmingham. That way I&#8217;m not far away but I still have the independence I want so much. My sisters both said the obvious: <em>&#8220;It&#8217;s a complete waste of money&#8221;</em>. I mentioned it to mum and she didn&#8217;t say much, other than one sister is moving out, she&#8217;ll get the next one married off, my brother and his family will move out and she and dad will go to another country &#8211; then I&#8217;ll get my independence and experience of living alone.<br />
I&#8217;ll take that as a no then, shall I?</p>
<p>My room should start coming along soon. My sister&#8217;s new house is well under way so in a week a two, my bed will be moved into her new spare room. I&#8217;ve decided I&#8217;m not going to replace it as beds take up too much unnecessary space, and proved my point by sleeping on the floor this whole week. Dad has agreed to letting me do that. That means that all I need for my room is a wardrobe, computer desk and a soft corner. </p>
<p>College is still a bit of a joke, but it&#8217;s slowly getting better. I think most of my resentment towards the place is now just residue from the appalling first few weeks, which is occasionally added to by <a href="http://sector30.wordpress.com/2009/10/14/overkill/">something stupid</a>. I finished the website design and put it live onto my host. I hate it when free web hosts handicap the service by doing stuff like restricting .htaccess/.htpasswd, and only enable it for a fee. It means that I can&#8217;t provide basic password protection on the site. My old hosting account at <a href="http://110mb.com" target="_blank">110mb.com</a> is still active from when I used to use it to host my MySearchFunds/MyHPF cheat bot (an auto-searcher for a paid-to-search website). 110mb.com, at the moment, only offer 110mb worth of web space with 10gb of bandwidth. Yes, sounds logical, after all, the name is 110mb.com. But when I registered, it was 5gb of web space and 30gb of bandwidth. I logged in&#8230;I still have it <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  Unfortunately, that is one of the sites that cripple htaccess.<br />
I&#8217;m using Awardspace to host my assignment. Nothing special about it, but it&#8217;s really annoying that it hijacks error pages with it&#8217;s own bullshit for free users. That alone might convince me to go back to 110mb, provided that they don&#8217;t do it too. Or I could just borrow some web space from dad&#8217;s hosting account &#8211; that&#8217;s paid hosting so I get what I want. </p>
<p>Ayesha invited me to a birthday party of some sort. Her boyfriend is arranging it and she doesn&#8217;t know the details so she&#8217;s told me to ask him. Part of me doesn&#8217;t want to go. Every time I think of her, I think of how I <del datetime="2009-10-18T04:46:03+00:00">feel</del> felt about her. But she&#8217;s still a really good friend and I miss her.<br />
I don&#8217;t know whether to go or not. Depends on whether I can even make it. </p>
<p>Why is it that whenever there&#8217;s a girl I might like, there&#8217;s always a caveat? I don&#8217;t know how to play for fun so I play for keeps. Playing for keeps means I have to take a bunch of things into consideration, but so far, the only girls I&#8217;ve been interested in have all had something that&#8217;s made me pull back. Some were taken, some were too far away, some were just incompatible and some were just skin deep.<br />
It does wonders to the self-esteem when you&#8217;re nearly 18 and your greatest achievement with the opposite gender was holding hands, which took nearly two years to get to.</p>
<p>But it&#8217;s okay, this is just a passing phase. I&#8217;ll wake up in the morning to the sound of my niece whining and I&#8217;ll remember exactly why I&#8217;ll avoid getting married; to avoid having kids. Having kids puts me at risk of asking the question <em>&#8220;Why should I have to take the kids to counselling? I&#8217;m not even the one who loves them.&#8221;</em>. I am pretty heartless. She was doing my head in while I was trying to fix my brothers laptop, asking for a duck video (some sort of nursery rhyme video my brother had) and wouldn&#8217;t shut up, so I told her the duck is dead. </p>
<p>Speaking of my brothers laptop, he put the new 320gb hard drive in it. It&#8217;s a Dell Inspiron 9300 &#8211; quite old; the BIOS is dated 2005. Yeah, an old BIOS. Doesn&#8217;t make for good compatibility with new hard drives.<br />
Apparently, this BIOS isn&#8217;t 48-bit LBA compatible, so it would only see 137gb of the hard drive. I managed to get it working though. Created a 100gb partition and installed XP on it. Then tweaked the registry; adding a EnableBigLba key to it. Reboot, load up Acronis Disk Director and create a new partition on the 200gb that just showed up. </p>
<p>Alexandra Burke&#8217;s new album, Overcome, will be out on Monday. I&#8217;ve listened to it and found a few tracks I like. Bad Boyz, which is the A-side I guess, annoys the hell out of me. The song itself is okay, but there&#8217;s a line at 0:30; I think she says <em>&#8220;It feels my heart&#8217;s divided&#8221;</em>, is exactly like another song. I mean completely identical in tune &#8211; just change the lyrics to match the other song and it&#8217;ll be almost an exact copy of it.<br />
But I can&#8217;t figure out what song it is. It&#8217;s one I like, but it reminds me of bad times at school, meaning I probably deleted it when I wiped half my collection a while back. Oh, and the &#8220;Uay, uah&#8221; in the song is just a piss take. Which deaf idiot thought that was a good idea?<br />
The other songs I like are The Silence, Dumb and Gotta Go.<br />
Gotta Go and The Silence make me think of Ayesha. =/</p>
<p>Oh, I was told today that Syncrosoft&#8217;s copy protection was finally broken by AiR. It&#8217;s the copy protection used in Steinberg software like Cubase and Nuendo, and has until now, been uncrackable. I know wannabe DJ I used to be friends with at school who would have wet dreams about getting Cubase. He&#8217;s been trying to add me on facebook for a few months and I kept denying him because I still hate him for some of the stuff he said to me. I was so tempted to add him on facebook just to rub it in his nose that I can get it and he can&#8217;t.<br />
Kudos to AiR though &#8211; epic skills there. It makes me think though, imagine if the cracking teams were on the other side, creating the copy protection software. It&#8217;d actually be pretty cool to see what sort of stuff these guys can come up with. Microsoft should hire them :p</p>

<p>When Yamaha purchased Steinberg in late 2004, many people wondered what future collaborations there might be. After all, Yamaha have produced some revolutionary audio interfaces in their time, such as their DSP Factory (which contained the inner functions of an 02R digital mixer), and the SW1000XG (an inspiring combination of audio interface, MIDI synth, digital mixer and DSP multi-effects unit), as well as championing software and hardware integration.</p>
<p>Well, the wait is over, since Steinberg and Yamaha have combined their expertise into three new products. We&#8217;ll be looking at the CC121 Controller in SOS shortly, but first under the spotlight are the MR816 CSX and MR816 X — Firewire audio interfaces with built-in DSP effect suites that take software and hardware integration to new heights.</p>
<p>Although the interface names don&#8217;t exactly trip off the tongue, they do explain all the functional elements of the two available models. Both are &#8216;MR&#8217; (Mixing and Recording) audio interfaces containing eight Class-A mic and instrument preamps, and a total of 16 I/O channels — eight analogue, and a further eight in digital ADAT format. Two of the ADAT channels can also be switched to S/PDIF coaxial, and you can use both optical and coaxial I/O in stereo S/PDIF mode. BNC word clock In and Out are also available to sync other professional gear.</p>
<p>For those with more ambitious I/O requirements, the Mac and PC drivers also support the daisychaining of up to three units (or two units when run at 88.2 or 96kHz sample rates) via the dual rear-panel Firewire ports, for up to 48 input and output channels. Although it&#8217;s not possible to bus-power the MR816 series, the supplied Yamaha-badged wall-wart has a robust screw-lock connector, and I was impressed by overall build quality and finish.</p>
<p>While we&#8217;re briefly focusing on the unit&#8217;s back panel, one omission is obvious — there&#8217;s absolutely no MIDI connectivity. It is, admittedly, hard to see where they could have found room to squeeze in the ports on the crowded rear panel, but it&#8217;s still a little surprising given Steinberg&#8217;s reputation for the quality of the MIDI side of their sequencers.</p>
<p>Both units also feature the REVX DSP reverb effect. In fact, there&#8217;s only one functional difference between the two: the extra &#8216;CS&#8217; of the MR816 CSX lets you know that each of its eight input channels features a &#8216;Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip&#8217;. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Now that’s I’ve decided to focus on songwriting and demo-ing, I’m wondering if it’s worth investing a bit of money in a modest but decent home recording studio. I don’t intend on changing all my gear but add extras where needed. </p>
<p>Computer:<br />
- I have a PC (I know you probably think… boo hoo PC; well I actually really like it and I have a pretty damn good computer).<br />
- My computer is 64 bit and I’ve noticed that Protools doesn’t run on 64 bit so my alternative is <a href="http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/musicproduction/cubasestudio5_product0/cubasestudio5_newfeatures0.html">Cubase</a>. </p>
<p>Anybody’s had some positive experience working with Cubase on a 64 bit? Let me know. I would totally appreciate the feedback.</p>

En gros, il y a eu le FLQ [Front De Libération Du Québec], qui voulait revendiquer des droits que le Gouvernement ne voulait pas accorder. Ils ont écrit un manifeste afin d&#8217;expliquer leur position.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Je voulais publier ce manifeste, car présentement, au Québec, il y a la commémoration de la bataille des Plaines d&#8217;Abraham de Québec. Pour cet événement, avec plusieurs autres textes, on va y lire le manifeste du FLQ. Alors, le voici :</em></strong></p>

<p><strong>Nous avons cru un moment qu’il valait la peine de canaliser nos énergies, nos impatiences comme le dit si bien René Lévesque, dans le Parti québécois, mais la victoire libérale montre bien que ce qu’on appelle démocratie au Québec n’est en fait et depuis toujours que la « democracy » des riches. La victoire du Parti libéral en ce sens n’est en fait que la victoire des faiseurs d’élections Simard-Cotroni. En conséquence, le parlementarisme britannique, c’est bien fini et le Front de libération du Québec ne se laissera jamais distraire par les miettes électorales que les capitalistes anglo-saxons lancent dans la basse-cour québécoise à tous les quatre ans. <p><strong>Oui il y en a des raisons, et les gars de la Lord les connaissent, les pêcheurs de la Gaspésie, les travailleurs de la Côte Nord, les mineurs de la Iron Ore, de Québec Cartier Mining, de la Noranda les connaissent eux aussi ces raisons. Et les braves travailleurs de Cabano que l’on a tenté de fourrer  une fois de plus en savent des tas de raisons.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Oui il y en a des raisons pour que vous, M. Tremblay de la rue Panet et vous, M. Cloutier qui travaillez dans la construction à St-Jérôme, vous ne puissiez vous payer des « vaisseaux d’or » avec de la belle zizique  et tout le fling flang  comme l’a fait Drapeau-l’aristocrate , celui qui se préoccupe tellement des taudis qu’il a fait placer des panneaux de couleurs devant ceux-ci pour ne pas que les riches touristes voient notre misère.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Oui il y en a des raison pour que vous Madame Lemay de St-Hyacinthe vous ne puissiez vous payer des petits voyages en Floride comme le font avec notre argent tous les sales juges et députés.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Les braves travailleurs de la Vickers et ceux de la Davie Ship les savent ces raisons, eux à qui l’on a donné aucune raison qu’ils voulaient se syndiquer et à qui les sales juges ont fait payer plus de deux millions de dollars parce qu’ils avaient voulu exercer ce droit élémentaire. Les gars de Murdochville la connaissent la justice et ils en connaissent des tas de raisons.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Oui il y en a des raisons pour que vous, M. Lachance de la rue Ste-Marguerite, vous alliez noyer votre désespoir, votre rancœur et votre rage dans la bière du chien à Molson. Et toi, Lachance fils avec tes cigarettes de mari… Oui il y en a des raisons pour que nous, les assistés sociaux, on vous tienne de génération en génération sur le bien-être social. Il y en a des tas de raisons, les travailleurs de la domptar à Windsor et à East Angus les savent. Et les travailleurs de la Squibb et de la Ayers et les gars de la Régie des Alcools  et ceux de la Seven Up et de Victoria Precision, et les cols bleus de Laval et de Montréal et les gars de Lapalme en savent des tas de raisons.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Nous en avons soupé du fédéralisme canadien qui pénalise les producteurs laitiers du Québec pour satisfaire aux besoins anglo-saxons du Commonwealth ; qui maintient les braves chauffeurs de taxi de Montréal dans un état de demi-esclaves en protégeant honteusement le monopole exclusif de l’écœurant Murray Hill et de son propriétaire-assassin Charles Hershorn et de son fils Paul qui, à maintes reprises, le soir du 7 octobre, arracha des mains de ses employés le fusil de calibre 12 pour tirer sur les chauffeurs et blesser ainsi mortellement le caporal Dumas, tué en tant que manifestant ; qui pratique une politique insensée des importations en jetant un à un dans la rue les petits salariés des Textiles et de la Chaussure, les plus bafoués au Québec, aux profit d’une poignée de maudits « money-makers »  roulant cadillac ; qui classe la nation québécoise au rang des minorités ethniques du Canada.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Nous en avons soupé, et de plus en plus de Québécois également, d’un gouvernement de mitaines qui fait mille et une acrobaties pour charmer les millionnaires américains en les suppliant de venir investir au Québec, la Belle Province où des milliers de milles carrés de forêts remplies de gibier et de lacs poissonneux sont la propriété exclusive de ces même Seigneurs tout-puissants du XXe siècle ; d’un hypocrite à la Bourassa qui s’appuie sur les blindés de la Brinks, véritable symbole de l’occupation étrangère au Québec, pour tenir les pauvres « natives » québécois dans la peur de la misère et du chômage auxquels nous sommes tant habituées ; de nos impôts que l’envoyé d’Ottawa au Québec veut donner aux boss anglophones pour les « inciter », ma chère, à parler français, à négocier en français : repeat after me : « cheap labor means main-d’œuvre à bon marché » ; des promesses de travail et de prospérité, alors que nous serons toujours les serviteurs assidus et les lèche-bottes des big-shot, tant qu’il y aura des Westmount, des Town of Mount-Royal, des Hampstead, des Outremont, tous ces véritables châteaux forts de la haute finance de la rue St-Jacques et de la Wall Street, tant que nous tous, Québécois, n’aurons pas chassé par tous les moyens, y compris la dynamite et les armes, ces big-boss de l’économie et de la politique, prêts à toutes les bassesses pour mieux nous fourrer .</strong></p>

<p><strong>Nous vivons dans une société d’esclaves terrorisés, terrorisés par les grands patrons, Steinberg, Clark, Bronfman, Smith, Neapole, Timmins, Geoffrion, J.L. Lévesque, Hershorn, Thompson, Nesbitt, Desmarais, Kierans [à côté de ça, Rémi Popol la garcette, Drapeau le dog, Bourassa le serin des Simard, Trudeau  la tapette, c’est des peanuts !].</strong></p>

<p><strong>Biography:</strong><br />
This young upcoming dj straight out of Portmore, Jamaica is currently enrolled at the University Of Technology in Jamaica pursuing a degree in engineering which limits the time he get to put into his musical works, but exile doesn&#8217;t mind because he strongly believes in getting a solid education first.</p>
<p>With his two childhood peers Gerron Thomas (KONIAK) and Mario Grey (KRITIK) they form a rap trio called N.H.C which means narrating hostile conditions. They dropped a mix tape in 2003 which explains all the things that their surroundings had to offer, telling the bright and the dark side. Gaining good respond from songs such as poor cold and lonely, you don’t want beef, and hungry girls.</p>
<p>Known to friends as Nago, whose government name is <strong>Clayton Johnson</strong>, is a 23 yrs old musical artist born and raised in Naggo’s Head, Portmore has his own mark to make in this music biz.</p>
<p>The former Camperdown High School student just won’t stop working on his musical craft. After leaving high school in 1999, he started exploring his talent and started to rap as the hip hop genre took a big step in the Jamaican culture.</p>
<p>Since then their talent has grown into different styles and technique. EXILE now a student at the University Of Technology of Jamaica has become to appreciate Jamaica’s own reggae dancehall music, which was the first music he had come to know. Bringing across the same sharp lyrics and melodies from hip hop and transforming them in Jamaican Creole (patios). He is now a reggae dancehall artist on the underground scene and planning to see the top with songs such as solid, strange, very hot, like or as, and story telling to match any situation, he writes songs for whatever stages life can take one through. For the years to come the music industry and the world will see more from this raw talent, a diamond in the dust, he’s a force to recon with.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p align="left">Gestern 22.15 Uhr am Alex. Ich will in die Linie  6  Richtung Steinberg steigen. Vor dem Eingang steht eine blonde Mitfünfzigerin in Uniform, offenbar die Fahrerin der Straßenbahn. Ich komme gerade von einem 30 Kilometer Marathon Training vom Mauerweg, bin einigermaßen erschöpft und verschwitzt.<br />
Ich bitte die Frau  mich kurz  über Eingangsstufe   zu schieben. Barsch antwortet sie, das dürfe sie nicht. Die die Rampe sei auch defekt. Ich soll die nächste Bahn nehmen.  </p>
<p align="left">Ich schaffe es, mich die an sich kleine Stufe hochzuziehen und postiere mich an der Tür gegenüber dem Eingang. Die Fahrerin steigt ein, baut sich vor mich auf und keift: „Der Rollstuhl gehört auf die andere Seite fahren Sie darüber, sonst fahre ich nicht los.“ Ich bin empört über den Ton und will wissen, warum ich mich in die Eingangstür stellen soll. Sie sagt nichts, dann nur knapp. „fahren Sie rüber.“ Passanten gucken verständnislos. Ich rolle wortlos hinüber. Die Bahn fährt los. Ich kann mich nicht festhalten, werde in den Kurven gefährlich hin und her geschleudert. Ich fahre schließlich auf die andere Seite zurück und stehe vor der Tür zum Fahrerstand. Die Frau hält die Bahn auf freier Strecke an, reißt die Tür ihres Fahrerstandes auf, die gegen meinen  Rollstuhl kracht und ruft, den Kopf aus der Tür steckend,<br />
„Fahren sie auf ihren Platz, sonst fahre ich nicht weiter. Ich hole mir einen Zeugen, dass sie sich weigern, meinen Anweisungen folge zu leisten und lasse sie aus der Bahn entfernen.“<br />
Lange Sekunden gucke ich die Frau entgeistert an. Sie blickt starr zurück. Die Umstehenden schweigen. Stillstand. Ich überlege, ob ich eine Eskalation will. Schließlich fahre ich schimpfend, wieder auf den angeblich für den Rollstuhl bestimmten Platz. Sie setzt die Fahrt fort.</p>

Cubase Essential 5 bringt außerdem noch mehr Sounds für noch mehr Musik mit: Es enthält Prologue, ein polyphones subtraktives Synth VST-Instrument, außerdem fast 240 neue Premium-Instrumentensounds<br />
für HALion One inklusive dem kompletten Studio Set aus Cubase 5. Auf der MIDISeite wurden ebenfalls viele Verbesserungen vorgenommen, von neu designten MIDIEffekten bis zu einer aufgebohrten Automation. Die MediaBay wurde ebenfalls stark optimiert. Das virtuelle MIDI-Keyboard und generische Windows Vista Low Latency-Treiber unterstützen Musiker unterwegs.</p>
