Today was my 11 hour work day so as you can imagine it’s been a long day, however it’s also been a good day. I got up early and went for a 30minute walk and then got ready for work and walked to work. Half of my day is spent at the loans desk on my feet so working now involves alot of standing and walking which is good. I also walked home and my partner came and met me halfway home ( he left a little late to meet me at work)

Todays count is 14,678 and counting, it won’t get much higher but it’s still up there (it may even be my biggest day yet!)

My eating was going well, oats for breakfast, salad with 2 boiled eggs for lunch, gado gado and green chicken curry for dinner (my partner and I shared both meals together) but then I had a shower and my loving boyfriend went and got some treats. The sorbet was yummy and in little tubs that were under 100cals so thats ok, but the gummy lollies and chocolate coconut bit’s I didn’t need. I haven’t had too many lollies or chocolates bits so I’m not feeling to bad about it especially given my high step count.

Though I do need to watch my eating habits I can feel myself falling back into unthinking snacking which is dangerous. The the habit is also rewarding myself because I’m much more active, I need to eat healthy and keep up the walking not reward myself with food for being active. I guess I need to fine cheap, effective rewards that aren’t food, and not over use rewards if that makes sense.

Ok bed time for me so I can get up early again and go for a walk or maybe even a run, my poor legs hurt from yesterdays strength workout so it depends how I feel.

Steps and Strength Training Queries

Before I get to my strength training queries just a quick step count;

Wednesdays total was 13,093 which is great, I only walked to work one way and got a lift home and that also included Jillian Michael’s Shred Level 2. So I can probably say without the Shred that a normal library working day walking both ways would be over 10,000 steps which is good. I’m going to see how many I get to today by the time I get home and before I exercise.

So Strength training…

It still confuses me well not confuses but it’s still something I don’t’ know a lot about. How long is considered a decent strength workout? Is it about rep’s or just time (eg is it about doing 45 sit-ups in a row and working up to more or just doing 45seconds of sit ups, does that make sense) Does JM Shred count as strength workout even though it involves cardio? I guess basically my worry is how much is enough? And what does other peoples strength training involve?

I love the Steve Maresca Make me Over 40minute workout, to me that’s a great workout so is that sort of time length/workout what I should be aiming for?

Oh well I have to do something strenght related today so it’ll probably be the Make me over 40min workout and then maybe a walk, if I decided to do it now it may actually happen when I get home. As long as I tell myself I’m going to do it hopefully working all day won’t put me off doing it.

I went to Wal-Mart and Barnes and Noble after work today and then had to go see LB too, so I am back home later than usual. I had dinner out and blew my diet ! BALLS ! HELL ! Well in any case I still burned more than I took in so that is good.

Total steps today: 20,040 Yikes ! That is a lot of steps, makes me wonder about the accuracy of the device !
