This is a repost of an entry in my other blog that was “taken away” from me by the previous blogging gods…

It was from July 17th…a very significant night in my world…the night I met Stephen…

“I had drinks with Paige, last night. She told me I was her Cougar. How cool! It was so good to see my friend. She looks so good. Perhaps it is because she is in love. She has a beau that lives in another city so it is difficult to see him all the time. She has travelled to see him quite a bit lately and falls more in love every time she sees him. He feels the same way about her. I couldn’t be more tickled for her. She deserves the best.

We met at the bar where I met Cutie-Pie, last week. We figured we would hang out around men with money! Hey, you never stop being a good golddigger, right?

She and I talked for about an hour before the boys started coming up to us. Suddenly there were two “camps” of guys vying for our attention. In fact, I had one rubbing my hand while I’m talking to the other. I also had my hand on Paige’s soft legs when they all figured out that we might be more than friend-friends. She and I love to tell the boys that…after they start questioning why we touch each other like we do.

I find two of these guys, one from each camp, that I like and I proceed to flirt and exchange numbers with both. (Such a slut!) The party broke up and everyone started to head home and I asked one of them to walk me out. We walk outside and the other one is sitting in his car. I walk over to him to kiss him goodnight and then turn around and kiss the other one goodnight. Both are yummy…both are good kissers…and both think I’m “amazing”. A good night, I’d say.

Paige had to drive me home because the third glass of wine was a little too much for me to drive home….and she actually got to meet Hubby for the first time. Wow. That was huge!
Have you ever sat outside on a summer night and just soaked in the stars—really absorbed them? Surr

Have you ever sat outside on a summer night and just soaked in the stars—really absorbed them? Surrounded by the warm, dark air, summer nights seem to me like the best time to think. I don’t believe that it gets much better than a warm summer night to enjoy the stars and contemplate questions that only the Creator of those stars can answer.

During the summers back in jr. high I use to sit out on my trampoline at night with my friend Sam. We’d lay there our backs sinking into the black mesh, still warm from the summer sun that afternoon, and stare into the night sky. We didn’t really contemplate anything deep—mostly our discussions revolved around the Animorphs book series, and what it would be like to have the ability to morph into an animal. All summer Sam and I would lay out there on the trampoline talking, the stars watching over us. They were hardly impressive from within the city, washed out by the light that flooded every street corner keeping the dark from showing it’s face. But they were stars—beautiful none-the-less, and to a couple of guys in jr. high, they were wonderful company for late night discussion.

It wasn’t until a few summers later that I got to experience the stars in all of their beauty for the first time.

Even now, years later, I remember it so well; my neighbor, Nancy, had family reservations to stay in LeConte Lodge in the Smokeys. Every summer her and her parents would hike the mountain on one of several trails, camp on top for the night and then return the next morning to the trailhead at the base of the mountain.

One year my parents notified me that Nancy’s mother was getting too old to make the hike, and that Nancy had offered to take me in her place. What an exciting thing, for a city boy to get an opportunity to leave his home and go hiking in the Smokey’s, launching off into the unknown—no school bells, no homework or fenced in yards, just me and the wild mountains of Eastern Tennessee.

In the weeks preceding my first hiking trip with Nancy the anticipation built, this would be my first real adventure outside of hiking and camping in the state park there in our hometown; Nancy would be there, but not my parents—just the two of us and the wilderness. On that beautiful morning, late in the summer we headed out on our adventure.

The hike was nothing short of spectacular, the view was amazing, the sights blew me away. This was my first time off in the wilderness, exploring the unknown with just Nancy to guide me along. I know, the Smokey’s are hardly the wilderness, but to me at that time, I was on the frontier, forging my way through the wild, discovering new things that no man had yet laid eyes on. I was free from man’s world, and released into a place that only my imagination could fathom.

Once on top we were beat. City boys, even soccer stars like myself (ha) don’t know how to handle long hikes up 6000 feet of rugged mountain terrain. The 6-mile trail had just about worn us out. But when you reach the lodge, you can’t be worn out. Suddenly you’re revived with a new energy. Maybe it’s the excitement, maybe it’s the hot chocolate and cookies that they feed you as soon as you arrive—I like to think that it’s the beautiful clean air, so far removed from what we breath down here in the city that it’s fresh, the way that it was when God created the world. Regardless, I had a new energy and took off exploring the trails and paths on the top of the mountain.

Once on top I had a single goal: find a bear. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) I only found deer that trip. I did find something else though, something that inspired me and was more meaningful and moving to me than the sighting of a bear could’ve possibly been.

Late that night I ventured out for one last walk down some trails before going to sleep. I was putting off sleep because to me, sleep meant the inevitable—the hike down first thing in the morning would come when I woke. I remember walking up a trail that entered into a clearing: the helipad. By helipad I mean big field. It was the space they used in emergencies to land the helicopter for air evacuations. As I left the trail and entered into the open expanse of the field, suddenly, my sight unhindered by trees, I was met by the stars.

It was this moment that I first realized that the stars really are as they appear in science books and on TV shows. Until that point, my only experience with the stars was from my home in the city, drowned out by the glow of light pollution.

All of the light that normally blotted out the stars was stripped away by my elevation—I stood there a while in awe as I soaked in the grandness of the universe, swallowed in the brilliancy of the stars. I remember the moon vividly; it hung there larger than life, filling the night sky in a majestic way that I’d never before even imagined.

Suddenly the night sky seemed so much more amazing—it was as if I was no longer under it, but in it, immersed in its infinity. No matter what direction I looked, I was surrounded by the vast expanse of space. The stars winked at me as if saying, “yeah, it’s big from up here huh?” I just stood there, jaw dropped, and stared. The kind of deep, dissecting stare that your parents yell at you about in restaurants when you’re a kid and you can’t tear your eyes away from the man with one leg sitting across the room. On that mountain I experienced for the first time the wonder of God’s creation in the stars.

I used to see God the way that I saw those stars. Reynosa, much like the top of that mountain, took me beyond all that I knew and introduced me to a new God—a God who was bigger, wiser and more wonderful than I had ever known. For the first time in my life I saw God as more than a Sunday School character. Let me tell you how it happened…

Welcome to Entry Stamps, our loosely organized experiment (call it a book if you will). For the next twelve months Paul and I will be putting together the memoirs of our journeys, and exploring the resulting changes that God brought about in each of us over the last two years.

Before we dive into the journey, I want to give you a little background. I believe the story needs a context — A pin on the map, that you can look at and know that whatever else happens, there was a Point A. Let me start with this: Paul and myself have been traveling the world for the past two years together. We’ve been to Mexico, Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala, Kenya, France, Germany, Scotland, Egypt and all over the United States. I tell you this because Paul and I only met a short time ago, and God has brought us together in an amazing way to strengthen each other as we attempt to grow and move forward, leaving behind what was and entering the unknown.

There’s something about traveling with someone that bonds you together unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The relationship between Paul and myself was formed and solidified so quickly that it’s hard even now for me to look back and remember when or how it happened.

We both have experienced things in the intervening months that have changed us to the core. Things that we still can’t quite wrap our minds around–things that, without God, make no sense.

The following chapters represent a journal of sorts. From appropriately humble beginnings as a group of college kids embarking on a spring break mission trip, through the craziness of the past two-plus years, we will endeavor to faithfully recount the trials and travels, and to relate the many ways God has moved to change and to grow us.

Through our journey, I have discovered something profound about the Christian walk; I believe that at some point in a Christian’s life they must dive into the unknown with nothing but faith to carry them. That might mean getting married, or getting a new job, moving into a new city or even being swept into the mission field. For us it meant starting an organization with no experience or precedent, and stepping out in the belief that it was the path we were supposed to take.

This book will carry you with us as we journey to Reynosa, Mexico and beyond, and serve as a window to worlds you might not otherwise see. But more than that, we hope it illustrates through our experience how much God was a part of every little step along the way, and how a van load of noisy, goofy college kids could come back from that trip and do something much bigger than themselves.

I hope that you can relate to something in this book and that God is doing great things in your life. I assure you, if God can do something with a group of people like us, he can take you places you can’t even imagine yet.

For the purpose of this story I’m just going to call this “friend” by his first name, Stephen. These collection of posts/stories are all connected and all happened and at the time amusing to be.

The Beginning, of this relationship of being good friends. Started off at orientation. This guy, Stephen, was in my group. In that group just so happened to be a few weeks later a “real good friend” meaning that we are friends. During the first day of orientation this kid wouldn’t do anything. The one thing he did do–which he did very well–was complain about everything. Might I mention at somepoint in this grouping of stories I will talk about this one instance when he told me and the Student Leader of the group that he was in fact a genus.

The series continues next on November 28th, 2009 at a later time.

Keamy on "Lost"

Here’s a guy that has been quickly rising out of obscurity. The first time I saw him was on an episode of Dead Like Me back in 2003. He was a guest star and I almost never watched the show, but for some reason his performance stuck with me. As time went by, I started to see him pop up in more and more places, and I have yet to say a bad thing about him.
Kevin is a Canadian native, born in Thunder Bay, Ontario (1/14/74). At 15, performing became an interest in his life at St. Ignatius Highschool, where he dabbled in rap (at age 17, he was actually cast as a rapper in the 5 month tour of the show “Spirit of a Nation”). He had some theatrical experience before venturing into film (a small tour with Forever Plaid, and a supporting role on Broadway in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 2001), but his first break came with the film “Mystery Alaska” alongside Russell Crowe. Being the good Canadian he is, Kevin was a hockey wiz, and soon won the role of “Tree” Lane. Crowe and he became close friends. Durand even sang backup for Crowe in Crowe’s band “30 Odd Foot of Grunts”.
That being his start, since then, he has doggedly climbed the showbusiness ladder. This seems to me to be a realy example of what perserverence and talent can really attain. Durand slowly gathered television and film credits to his name. He was a major character in the 2001-2 series “Dark Angel” (Joshua), The Butterfly Effect (2004), Walking Tall (2004), Smoking Aces (2006 – an awesome character by the way), and then in 2007, he won a role in “3:10 to Yuma” once again alongside Russell Crowe. The casting director of the television series “Lost” saw Durand’s performance and cast him as the controversial Sgt. Martin Keany, which earned him a lot of attention.
Most recently, he has been seen in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” as Fred Dukes/The Blob, which is a pretty high watermark for an actor to reach.
Durand has made a carreer of playing the roughneck, bulky badass characters, and playing them well. He has yet to gain the notariety that other profiles I’ve done have had, but he’s definately a character actor that is going to be around for a long time. These guys, the ones that have built their careers on solid talent and quiet persistance, are the ones I cheer for. I can’t wait to see more from Kevin Durand.

This post is probably going to be one of those guilt posts that I do every now and then. Oh, you know the guilt post. A guilt post happens when you find yourself at the intersection of boredom and free-time obligations (ex. a blog). Thus, you write a guilt post. What this means for you, Audience, is that you will be subjected to a post with no pressing issue or common theme. In fact, I’m only writing this until Stephen calls, at which point I’ll ust end abruptly. Consider this your warning.
So! Today I slept very late. Even after sleeping so late, I still had to force myself out of the bed. I am toying with a personal perpetual-sleep theory. Wanna hear it?
Theory: Given that Ellen has no more obligations or duties in her life, she could sleep forever and ever.
As amazing as that sounds, I don’t really think that I would enjoy that. No, after about 16 hours or so, I’d probably get up and do something. I’m way to high maintenance to sleep forever. Still, it’s a theory.
I’ve been wondering something recently (as in today). I’ve decided I’d share it with you.
When I’m at school, I’m the most compulsive rule-follower ever. Caution and Hesitancy are my middle names. However, at camp I am much more willing to take risk and to be impulsive. Why is this?
I love who I am at camp. I believe it’s because I am most myself there. I can laugh really loud, take a little risk, be a little grimy and it’s all good. Everyone loves everyone else for exactly who they are.
there are only a few other places where I can bear the very depths of my soul. My home, for one, is a place where I find myself really comfortable. But I feel most myself when I’m with Stephen. Even more than camp. I can be totally transparent with him, and he with me. Amazing.
My head is hurting behind my left eye in the temple region (I told you I didn’t have anything to talk about). It’s weird though- if I put pressure on my temple, it makes the headache go away temporarily. Strange!
I’m headed to bed now. Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeps, it has been a long time since I last blogged, but please bear with me! It’s been a very busy time!

So first up was a family visit to my brother and Michele (his girlfriend) in Switzerland. My sister and mum flew to London from Malta, and I met up with them at the airport where we took another flight to Friedrischafen in Germany. From the airport we went to Konstanz. With my brother living close by in St Gallen this was one of the places I really wanted to go back to after having done a six week internship there 4 summers ago. Luckily one of the guys from the lab was in town and we could meet up. Great to be back!

That was Saturday (two Saturdays ago). On Sunday we then went to Santis…SNOOOWWWWW! …we didn’t climb but took the gondola up to gorgeous views. After that we travelled on to Apenzell, followed by a visit to the Rheinfall in Schaffhausen. Last I was in the region I never got round to it, so this was high on my list of things I wanted to do. Monday then was a day in Zurich with my mum and sister as brother and his gf had to work/study. Unfortunately all the museums were closed, but we still got a bit of the atmosphere in. Tuesday then we travelled back, from Switzerland going to Austria and then on to Germany around lake Constance, followed by flying to London (yeps…there go your four countries ).

In London then it was my turn to host my sister and mum…AAA…hectic time! We got a number of shopping trips in (yippee!) and a good deal of sight seeing. Mostly I sent them on their own while I went to university to get some work done anyways (though I was on reduced time ). With them on Wednesday night we went to watch Blood Brothers, with Mel C – great show! Was not particularly impressed at first, but as time went I got more and more impressed! WOW!. On Thursday I had tickets for the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London, which is the ceremony where they shut down the tower each night. It is apparently the shortest such ceremony in the world, but hey! I enjoyed it, and you get to get into the Tower for free (though you cannot wander round). Friday night was an evening of rest in preparation for the weekend.

Saturday was a day of markets! When Michael’s parents were here we went to Camden Market and I definitely wanted to take them there. So we got the bus to St John’s Wood and walked from there along the canal to the market. I really like the market, and it was good to be there now – seeing as Christmas is near I could start getting ideas for gifts – yipeee! (never a very easy thing for me ). From there we then went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde park to show them the closest they could get to a German market (more ideas for gifts ) and then on to TK Maxx in Kensington (shopping ).

Sunday was our ‘day out of London’ – Oxford! I had visited Oxford some months ago for a workshop but only got around an hour to look around. Now we had a day! Unfortunately it wasn’t the best weather (though better than when we went to Canterbury). Fortunately the museums were open so we could duck in there and enjoy them. We got to go to the University Museum of Natural History, the Pitt Rivers Museum, then to the Ashmolean Museum (it is newly reopened in November, so it is still not totally complete – but I really liked it, particularly the -1 level), and finally the Museum of the History of Science. In the evening we then went to Christ Church College Cathedral for Evensong (I didn’t find it as impressive as the ones we attended in Cambridge and Canterbury), and then on to home.

Monday was their last day here, so we went for a walk in Gladstone park, before making our way to Oxford street for some more shopping (hehe!) and then saw them off.

In the evening Michael and I had tickets for a Jack the Ripper Tour by Celebrity Planet. It was an OK tour. We got our tickets for free, but I am not sure I would have been happy if I had paid £10 for the tour! Also – the tour guide had such a smug look on his face! It just made me want to punch him! grrr!

Dressed for the afternoon. A turtleneck, black jeans, boots, and a little somethin’ – s

Dressed for the afternoon. A turtleneck, black jeans, boots, and a little somethin’ – somethin’ underneath…just for my baby. I don’t usually tell Hubby stories about where I’m going…especially, when it comes to Stephen. But I did today. Why? Not sure…but I did. So I hid my lingerie under my street clothes.

Long, black, wool, winter coat – it was chilly today – covering the clothes I was wearing. Before I showed up at Stephen’s office, I went to a local grocery store and pulled my jeans and turtleneck off and left my nightie and underbritches on with my naughty boots…wrapped myself up in my coat and off I went. I got out of the car (after waiting for my chronically, delightfully tardy lover) and walked into the office, dropped my things on the filing cabinet and propped my happy ass up on the desk, with legs crossed and coat still on.

“Hello, baby,” he said as he kissed me sweetly. I promptly unbuttoned my coat and slowly slipped it off and dropped it back on the desk. “I have to get my camera and capture you right there.” I sat still and looked into the camera as if I was looking at him – wait…I was and was looking at him like I always do – with great affection. He took lots of pictures of my tits, my back, my smile…and the two of us kissing.

We moved to the futon…and he made a video of us kissing and touching…”I think it’s important to take video of us kissing…it shows us how sexy it can be.” I couldn’t agree more. I loved watching us connecting.

I rolled over onto my tummy and he started at the top of my boots and licked to the back of my knees. It is amazing how this man can find the one place, at any given moment, that can send me into a tailspin. He, orally, made love to the backs of my knees. I could hardly contain myself. I had to look back to watch him doing it. He caught my gaze and our eyes locked. Connection, indeed.

This man, made sure that I knew that he is my boy…he licked and fucked me like a champ. “You make me feel like no one else has…,” I said. “I’m glad to hear that,” he said. He slid my legs together, closely and slid his cock into me from behind…he held my hands and kissed me deeply. (I secretly started to cry…I didn’t want him to see.)

As he came, he gripped my shoulders hard and groaned as he blew deep inside of me. I live for that shit. I live for his shit. I turned my head and realized that he saw my tears. He wiped them away as I said, “I didn’t want you to see that. It was just a rush of emotion. I’m sorry.” “Never worry about that, baby,” Stephen said.

Dammit. Every time we fuck, he kicks my ass. I’m smitten.

Stephen King and Steven Spielberg are joining forces to develop a limited series based on King’s just-released supernatural thriller “Under the Dome.” DreamWorks TV has optioned the book and is looking to set it up as an event series, likely for cable. DreamWorks principal Stacey Snider was key in bringing the project to the company. Spielberg, King and Snider will exec produce along with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. The book, which has earned strong reviews as a return to form for the prolific author, revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.

DreamWorks is starting to meet with writers for the project. The plan is to set a writer before shopping the skein to prospective buyers.

Spielberg and King have worked together in the past, developing a screen adaptation of King’s 1984 novel “The Talisman,” on which Spielberg has had the option for more than 20 years. That project has been developed as a feature, and it came close to being done as a mini for TNT a few years ago until it was tabled for budgetary reasons.

The “Dome” deal continues a burst of activity on the smallscreen side for Spielberg and DreamWorks TV. Among the high-profile projects in the works is a series about the development of a fictional Broadway tuner for Showtime. Another Showtime contender is a costume-drama revolving around the Borgia clan, penned by Neil Jordan and with Robert Zemeckis also producing.
